1. Introduction: Hi, everyone. My name is Aisha. I'm an artist and I love to indulge myself in watercolors and calligraphy and also DuMond, dollar art and acrylic art. I basically love anything that has to do with creativity. So if you want to know more about me and my journey with art, just follow me on Instagram. My handle is pen route. This is my first car share class and I'm so excited to be on here. So in this class I'm going to be teaching you how to paint watercolor roses. If you've just started with watercolors and have tried painting roses and failed or want to try them for fun, this classes for you, the key to perfect watercolor roses is not to try to make them perfect. You're florals. Don't have to be perfect to look pretty. Your strokes don't have to be perfect As long as the outcome makes you happy. Nothing matters. But there are a few tips I'd like to share in this class so that you can master the skill off painting watercolor roses and also make the whole process enjoyable. 2. Supplies: in this class, I'm going to be using Fabio studio watercolor tubes. These watercolors aren't that pigmented, but amusing these because it's easier for me to show you guys how to build a player's instead of going to dark in the first layer. Only Berta, you can use watercolors of different branches for your liking or whatever you have available with you. Andi Amusing these brushes by royal and language KAL on amusing size aid for details and size 16 for blending the people I'm going to use is a 300 years and mortar color paper by a new poem, Stationers, which is an Indian brand. So, yeah, these are the little supplies we need before we start. 3. Tips: Here are a few key points you have to know before you pick up your brush and start number one. Choose a brush that a strong Brazil's and has appointed. Tip something like this. Make sure the brush your youth has soft preserved. If the bristles are stiff, it's going to be difficult to paint proper strokes. Number two. Don't load your brush with too much water. Make sure your brushes to stamp enough for the pain to blend and not wet and dripping. Number three. Used to bushes of different sizes to paint your roses. There's no particular size to use, but I prefer using a bigger brush for blending and for biggest strokes and a little smaller bridge for darker and smaller strokes. Number four Practice is the key. If you don't get the right strokes at first try, then take a separate paper and practice your strokes before doing the actual level. 4. Strokes: to achieve the perfect strokes, you need to practice with wearing pressures. It's all about how much pressure you put on your paper as you paint on it. So first I'm going to take some paint on my brush and then I'll remove the excess. And then I'm going to put the tip of the brush in the paper and slowly drag it. And as I drag my brush, I'm going to slowly increased the pressure till the bristles fully touch the paper. And then I will slowly lift the brush up. And I'm doing all this as I moved the brush on the paper, so you'll need to practice moving your brush on the paper as you put pressure on it. This is the same technique we will be using to paint our Lisa's fell. Now we want curved stroke for our roses will do the same technique off, pressing a brush in the paper and pulling it up. But we're going to direct a brushes in a curved manner, so we're going to put a brush tip down on the paper and slowly put pressure on it. And as we move our brush, we turn our risk to the right and pull it to the left and then with Luli, pull up. We'll try the same thing in the opposite direction. Put the tip off your brush on the paper press and drag it to the left and slowly turned to the right, lifted up. We're going to practice this technique off, pressing and drugging until we get the hang off it. Once we get this technique right, we're ready to paint a pretty roses. 5. Roses: So first I'll take the smaller brush, and I'm going to take very concentrated paint, which has a very least amount of water in it. Then with the tip of the brush of make thes Chinese drugs in a circle, the arrangement off these little strokes is going to be very random, and they're not going to lie side by side and they appear twisted. Then I'm going to take the bigger brush with a very diluted paint on it on. I'm going to have it just damp and not really vet. So when I paint, the water will not stand on the paper. I'm going to make the strokes that we learned earlier in a very random manner until I have made nearly three rounds of these and make sure to leave white species between your perils so that it looks more pretty. And then I will make these small dinner strokes on the outside so our rose look a bit more natural. I let this dry a bit, then I'll take the smaller brush with very concentrated paint on it and make thin stroke starting from the center and in the inner side of the pedals that we've already painted some painting strokes right on top of the stroke that I have already painted. And as I go outwards, I am still keeping my strokes thin and dark and limiting them to the inner side of the pedals only because we're going to blend them. And later, then again, I will take the bigger brush. But make sure it's free of color. Andi, just a little damp and slowly blend these Dockers strokes that have already made again. I'm not going to touch the center with this bigger brush because we want our center to be very dark. The most important tip while you blend is to leave the white species as it is, and not to try to blend the color all the way into these right spaces. I'm going to let it dry and go ahead and do another layer with the same steps I did earlier . I usually stop at really years, but if you want your flower to be darker, you can go ahead and paint another layer, but I recommend you to do only two or three layers. If you are using very pigmented porter colors, the key is to keep the center dark and the outer part of the flower comparatively lighter in shade because the pedals are arranged more closely in the centre than on the outer side . So once I'm done with my first rose, I'm going to go ahead and paint my second rose, and we're going to follow the same steps that we did earlier. So I'm going to zoom in a bit and then I'm going to go ahead and start doing small Chinese drugs and we're going to former Circle. It's going to be pretty random, pretty imperfectly, but that's what we need here. So I'm going in, going ahead with my bigger brush and blending the outer part of that blob out, and I'm going to make thicker stroke, and we're going to go from thin to take gradually and not going very thick right away. So our strokes are going to start thin and small and gradually get bigger and thicker as Vigo outwards. And again I'm going to be a dinner smallest drugs on the out most side of the road so that it looks pretty. So while I wait for the first layer of the second rose to dry, I'm going to go ahead and paint the first layer of the third rose and go back later. After I'm done with the first layer off this one, and once the first layer has dried, I'm going to go ahead and do the second layer. And when they start out by using the darker, more concentrated color and the smaller brush and do tin strokes in random areas, and then I'm going to blend them out as you can see, the bigger brush, which is damp and free off any color, catches some color while we're blending it. So make sure to use that a little paint you have on the bigger brush to make the outers drugs on. After I'm done painting the second layer off this rose, I'm going to go back to the previous rose and do the third layer and finish it off. And also make sure you are painting your bruises in an alternate arrangement and not aligning them in a straight line, because that's gonna look so weird. So make sure you are arranging them in a very round of manner and not in a straight line because it looks weird. Trust me, it does. Since the second layer hasn't tried yet. I'm going to go ahead and do the first layer off the final rose and go back and forth until I am done with my roses. Then we're going to paint the final part off this project. That is the leads. 6. Leaves: for the leads I'm taking an earth green color, which is very muted and dark toned, usually love going with muted greens or darker greens for lives because I feel like the floral stand out that way. So with the tip of the bigger breast that we used earlier, I'm going to draw a very curved and thin line, which is going to be the stock off our leaf and gradually applying pressure and release. The second leaf is going to have a very short stock, which is pretty invisible and put pressure and lift up the brush. I know that I'm using the tip of the brush to make the tip of the leaf sharper. Malta not worrying about the leaf coming out perfectly full. Also look at how am painting the leaves in a very random arrangement. Belief on the center is having kind of for longest dog than the leads on its site. Basically, I'm just painting one leave lower than the first or wise worser. Let your leave go in the direction you feel like, and also make sure you're not painting way too many leaves that it ends up looking like you've painted on, Lee the leaves and flowers are barely showing. You can pain different sizes off leads as well. So yeah, that's all. If you like this class and learned even something from it, I've achieved my goal.
