About This Class

My lessons go in logical order.

New class is devoted to depicting volume objects in space. It 's divided into two parts.

Painting a bright winter illustration. It's purpose is to practice color blending, plane and gradient watercolor fills and patterns. Also it helps to learn how to achive different effects with brushes, strokes and splashes. It's fun:)

Also the class contains an exercise in grisaille technique. It is monochrome scumble painting displaying objects layer by layer. For me it is like a magic- firstly you have only white sheet of paper, and then you just add tone, step by step and receive very realistic picture. This exercise is very useful and will definitly help you in future.

Necessary art materials:

  1. Watercolors in tubes or in cuvettes
  2. 3 brushes
  3. Watercolor paper, I used 100% cotton, 140 lbs, cold pressed, Fabriano Artistico
  4. Cheap cellulose paper for etude
  5. Tablet and masking tape
  6. Palette
  7. Glass for water
  8. Masking fluid and old or cheap brush for it *(optional)
  9. White gouache and touthbrush* (optional)
  10. Pencil and art eraser

Here are the basic exercises. This lesson contains brief information about choosing art materials (you can read description).
