Off weather color materials artist Great Whether color paper is usually made with 100% Gragg fibers, such cotton or linen, it is acid free and comes in different sizes, weights and textures. Whether colored paper comes in grows large sheets measuring 22 by 30 inches in large and small spiral bound books on blocks. The paper I used most often is manufactured by arches, and here you can see oil brands that I have used successfully. There are three available textures. Hot pressed paper has a smooth surface. Cold pressed paper has a texture surface suitable for fine detail. Work on smooth washes. This is an all purpose paper. Rough paper not shown here, has a more per knows texture. The weight of the paper is the terming by thickness. Light weight paper is team heavy. Paper is thick. A thin paper is £90. Heavy paper city £100 on a medium weight. All purpose paper is well hang around £40 where colors come in tubes and pants. It's in liquid form and even as water soluble pencils or craze. Personally, I used paint tubes in the studio and pants when travelling or painting outdoors. There are professional grade and student grade water girls. Professional grade watercolors have a higher concentration off pigment on our buried ableto withstand exposure to light without fading. If you're buying watercolor pains for the first time, I recommend buying a small set off professional or high quality student grade plans, such as the ones shown here. Also, you can begin with 12 tubes off basic corners. This chart shows the pain tubes I use The most suggested colors are marked with a star, your own pal. It will be a very personal collection off warm on cool pigments that reflects your taste. I recommend beginning with a worm on cool to off each quarter. If you already have watercolors, feel free to use whatever you have in common. Pallets come in different sizes, Japan said, usually includes its own palette. A palette such as this one has a cover on its portable. You can begin by using a large white ceramic plate like this. The bigger your project, the larger you plan. It should be individual containers coming handy for washes when preparing a large amount of water called a good watercolor brush should be able to hold a sufficient quantity of water and be able to distribute color smoothly and evenly. Good quality bristles will spring back to their original shape after each use. Brushes have made from national animal hair or from synthetic fibers. The best watercolor brushes are made from sable hair. There are some excellent synthetic brushes available to ground rushes are the most diversity. And while the used brush for watercolor painting flat brushes are useful for washes, their rushes of different shapes to experiment with, even a toothbrush can coming hungry. If you're buying watercolor brushes for the first time, I recommend any or for round brushes. This is all you need together. Started and gain. Some practice rings your rushes with clean water. After each session on a store them in a container with the bristles facing up for traveling , I recommend a bamboo rollup brush holder to pack your brushes, place one brush at the end, then roll place another brush role and so on until you've packed toilet brushes 3. Water, Towels and Extras: half at least two containers of worried at hand. One container will hold clean water to use us. Need it? Watering? The second container is to Rene's Your brushes. I usually keep a towel to my right on the table. I use it to dry the brush and to absorb water from the brush feral and avoid unwanted drips . I also keep a paper towel at the base or edge off the painting. Closest to me. Have a range off soft and hard pencils took in up excess pencil lines on watercolor paper used a soft eraser. My favorite is that meted rubber eraser. This eraser cleans pencil nicely, keeps the paper intact and leaves no residue. You can also use a white and soft non staining eraser. A smaller sprayed or water dropper can be used to moisten the pains or the paper. Regular printer paper to skitch on optional tracing paper. These and more optional materials. Artist White tape To tape the paper onto aboard, play wood boards to stretch the paper or pick white pigment for highlights, masking fluid and pick up rubber cement eraser national sponges to dump in the paper or for special effects 4. Key Materials Summary: to summarize. These are the basic materials needed to paint with water cold. This is all you need to begin your practice. 5. Make Easy Reference-Charts: making a watercolor chart is a very handy reference to initially. A shard helps us learn color names on how they appear when applied to paper. Here, I will demonstrate how to make this chart. I organized my colors in a dream of passion on Make a chart following the order I have on the party voice and the pains with a spray bottle. Select a medium sized brush on reddit with the brush becomes the first color, so it's very saturated. The mixed should be saturated color and not the original consistency off the pigment. Apply a spot off saturated color to the paper. Add more pigment if necessary. Rings a Broch on pick up clean water. Spread the corner with the brush. Add a bit more water to lighten the color, creating a gradation. Release a brush. Repeat the process with the next color. Proceed in the same manner with all the colors around your palace Was the paper is right. Proceed toe identified a label ish color with its name, um, brand name to. If you are using colors from different manufacturers, this is another way to make a useful chart to place other your palate place a piece of watercolor paper larger than the palate underneath it. On this spot saturated color, add a little water to create some gradation, even when it is most saturated, the pigment should be diluted with someone. Brings separation between colors on. Repeat the process with all colors was the paper dries. Lay bullish cooler and keep it under your party. 6. Key Secret 1 -Simple Drawing Ideas: business. The landscape I will be demonstrating the first big secret to paint with watercolor is planning in advance. I will be painting on watercolor paper measuring 12 by nine inches to plan the landscape. We can make a template using a letter sized piece of paper for living half center on the world color paper and trace it around to draw a rectangle. Fold the lower edge to meet the upper age on. Make a pinch mark on each side at the center. Mark one point on there, right on one on the left, a little below the center at the same distance. Draw a horizontal line connecting those two points that will be the shoreline. We will draw the same shoreline inside a rectangle on the watercolor paper, but much lighter on the printing paper. Draw some mountains not to talk something like this. Don't worry about making them perfect. Cut the paper following the outline off the mountains. Discard the top part on the back paper, much the horizontal line off the template. With that on the watercolor paper, trace the mountain outline very lightly. Turn the paper over top to bottom, making the shoreline much again these two points should match Trace the mountain out nine to draw the reflection. The drawing on your watercolor paper should look like these, but much lighter. And this is the basic plan for the painting. 7. Key Secret 2 -Reflections in Water: Now it's time to prepare some color. Spray the water coolers with water. We will make some yellow with water. Can you? Me yellow first and then orange Yellow. The second secret for painting successfully with watercolor. It's imply in the name of this technique. Be generals with water and generals with color prepare in advance so you have enough for the surface that is going to be covert. Here I mix so that the color is not to saturated or too deluded. With a bigger brush. I will call the rectangle with clean water. Notice how the water is supplied top to bottom. As you apply the water on the paper, the rush gets discharged. Shash it with water again. As soon as you notice that the brush is going dry, tilt the paper to see the shine and make sure that the area is covered with water. If a puddle forms at the bottom, dry your brush and pick up excess water from the lower edge. Now I begin applying the color work down toward the horizontal line, adding some water to dilute the color on the paper on. Make a gradation toe clean water. Sink the brush into the water on then this. Charge it on this side of the jar, turned the paper around on. Repeat the process. This charge a brush on pick up excess water from the center. Let it dry or use of dryer to dry completely. I'm going to be mixing some off this. Think with the yellow plenty off it to create a nice orange can be also this. If we mix different reds, we're going to create different oranges, and I will make the painting richer. When this is rightly touch, we're going to apply another layer of just clean water. Notice that I don't go over the same spot too many times, tilled the paper and pick up excess water from the lower edge. Apply pink on orange to make this guy richer in color. As I moved down, I dilute the paint with some water, turn around and repeat the process, working towards a horizontal line. If a little puddle forms here, you can just dry the brush on, pick up a little bit and I play a little bit of saturated color. Now we prepare color for the mountains. Here I am mixing some ultra marine blue with a blistering crimson to make purple I prepared is very saturated right here, so off it will be more diluted with water, and I add peacock beauty to create. A north told the surface must be completely dry, but another layer of water from the horizontal line down. We don't want it to be too wet, so we can really save brush, dry it and pick up some word. We want it to be Slaley with Take some off the color that is more diluted on paint, the shape of the reflection from the horizontal line down. And since a paper is wet, but now extremely well, then we have a soft ich here for the actual mountains. I'm going to leave the area dry on. I am going toe. Apply some of this color just following the same nine that we have there. I leave a few areas of white there so that we suggest a beach. When we let it right, we could leave it ladies, and that's a good exercise. Or we can add some extra details. This is the temporal we use before we can throw some lower heels. Cut their out. Nine. A sweeties before. Much with the horizon line trace this time can be a little beat darker on a very softly much here on tracing with a very soft line, prepare some more saturated color and at some water here for more diluted corner, I will apply this diluted color to the reflection area. This time I do know get the paperweight. I applied the layer on the dry paper. Notice that I leave some sections off the shoreline without color to suggest reflected light on a beach for the hills, I use more saturated color. I let the top color touch the lower color at some points for a nice effect. When you feel like the brush is running out of pain, go ahead and recharge it with more paint. Don't try toe overextend the color than you have on the paper. This is why it is important to premix enough pain in advance as long a serious wit, we can add so more saturated color. Once he did stars, drying is best to leave it and touched. I know I will add a couple of birds. I use the same saturated, portable quarter practice burst by painting a tilted tear shape a soft core for the wing on the same plane, another soft core for the other wing, with a smaller brush practice painting smaller birds, and we can try different angles for the wings. Even if we're not completely satisfied with the result of our airports, we will have a sense of freedom. If we approached each painting project as a study. When we finish it, we can embrace where we have learned. I moved on to the next project, and some off our projects will be good enough to be framed. 8. Sunset Scene -Tips for Final details: This is the temporal we use before we can throw some lower heels, cut their out. Nine A sweeties before much with the horizontal line and trace the solu it again. Turn the tempered over top to bottom. Match the horizontal line and trace again with a very soft line. Prepare some more saturated color on at some water here for more diluted color, I will apply this deluded color to the reflection area. This time I do not get the paper with. This is why it is important to premix enough pain in advance. As long a serious wit, we can add some more saturated color. Once he did stars, drying is best to leave it and touched I know I will add a couple of birds. I use the same saturated, portable quarter practice. First, draw a tilted teardrop shape a soft core for the wing on the same plane. Another soft core for the other wing with a smaller brush practice painting smaller birds. And we can try different angles for the wings. Even if we're not completely satisfied with the results of our efforts, we will have a sense of freedom if we approached each painting project as a study.
