About This Class

My name is Sohan Kaur Khalsa, I have a BFA in fine arts and many years of work as a graphic designer as well! I love to share information about art materials and specifically working with watercolor. I see many self-taught painters struggling to understand watercolor as a medium and there are many reasonsĀ for that. One major reason is not understanding materials correctly and using beginner grade materials that lead to frustrating results.

In this class we take a look at different watercolor materials and understand how to choose ones that will work well and hold up over time. Choosing archival materials has benefits over other materials when you want to keep your work for a long time.

We'll look at choosing papers, selecting brushes and finally the all elusive watercolor paints. My recommendation is to use tube watercolor paints and we will look at why they are so good and how to use them correctly! You'll even get to practice some techniques to better familiarize yourself with your paints and pigments.

My design career started officially in 2008 with logo, web and graphic design projects. So...
