Project Description

Create an original watercolor painting for the person you love the most

33cb1985

ASSIGNMENT

I love watercolors because you can create so many different effects with it, just by changing the way you use it.  I use watercolor florals a lot in my designs, so I created this class to show you how I paint flowers, and specifically, orchids.  Since it´s not scientific botanical illustration where everything has to be exactly the same as in nature, you can have fun with your creations.  Your assignment is to create a print or a greeting card for a person you love, using some watercolor flowers of your choice.

DELIVERABLE

A completed project includes:

-One print or greeting card using watercolor flowers

4d27be3d

Please include pictures or scans of your

-sketches

-practice exercises

-color palette

-and your finished painting

You don´t have to scan the finished piece, you can also take a picture with your phone and upload it. If you are scanning it, remember to do it at 1200 ppi so you can use it for bigger things later.

In the documents you will find some of the pictures I used for references, and you can download them if you want to use them for your painting.

LIST OF SUPPLIES I USED:

-Canson cold press watercolour paper 140 lbs (300 gr) (comes in a blue pad)

-Dr. Ph. Martin’s Hydrus Fine Art Watercolor Set 1

-Watercolor brushes Size 10, 4 and 0 (Daler Rowney)
