Project Description

Fill a practice page with all of the techniques we’ve learned.

  1. Hold your brush in each of the 3 positions we discussed and create sweeping brush strokes.  Figure out your personal range of motion with your brush!
  2. Paint shapes with the various hold positions, noticing how much control you feel you have.
  3. Create lines of brush strokes, varying the pressure.  Lightest, barely touching the paper, to pressing down fully on the brush.
  4. Try rolling your brush.
  5. Try flicking your brush using the tip and the side of your brush.

Paint with your favorite colors!   Be mindful and observant as you go, paying attention to how the brush feels in your hand, and the quality of your strokes and marks on the page.  And, the most important thing, have fun!!

Don’t forget to  share it with me and your fellow students in the Project Section.  And, If you enjoyed this class, and would like to see more, please leave a review!

Painting brings me great joy, and I love to see others enjoying it, too!  I will happily answer any questions you may have.  Please, post your practice and artwork in the class project section. :)
