1. Introduction: Hello everyone. My name is OP. I'm an animator, individual games industry, and in my spare time I create YouTube videos on how to learn animation, book reviews, painting miniatures, and fitness. When I first started learning animation over 15 years ago, we had to learn editing software like Adobe Premiere pretty fast to create animation shows that we would send off to companies. For me, you're applying for jobs. These skills are very invaluable back then and even more so now with the emergence of YouTube and other social media apps, I was fortunate enough to learn from our peers in the film and animation industry while I was learning and pick up some tips along the way, what I realized about learning to edit is to keep it simple and don't be intimidated by the software. In this course, we will learn how to import raw footage into Premier and how to do the first cut and how to get rid of oohs and ahs and unnecessary pauses and keep the video straight to the point. And after this, we will start doing the fun parts like adding graphics texts and what have you to just jazz up the video a bit more so it looks a bit more entertaining to watch. I will be also dive in into Photoshop very briefly. So you will get to learn a bit more about how I do the graphics in Photoshop using PNG files. What have you router will talk about more. And then we will import that into Premier. And then we will start editing those graphics as well to add it into the videos. In this course, we will edit a piece of fur edge that I filmed during my fitness journey because I was documented that journey. You can follow that to. I will put that raw footage up and work in the same project with me, but I would highly encourage you to film your own stuff. Could be anything, just film something you are interested in. And at the end we can edit all of that with the same techniques that I will be showing. And then after we have got all the texts and everything together, we wouldn't publish the edit by adding some kind of color grading and adding little bit of extra touches just to give that final professional look, if you want to learn how to edit in Premier and the most simple, straight to the point way this course is for you. So please share your project below in the discussion area and I will be with you to food the editing journey. I hope you enjoyed this simple but to the point course, and I'll see you during and at the end of the project. 2. Adobe Premiere Interface: Hey guys and welcome to the interface section. Of course, in this section we're just going to go over that premier interface just to simply show you what we'll be using. Very simple stuff. It's not gonna be too complicated. We don't need it to make it too complicated. So let's check this out. If you go to Window workspaces, you can go up to o shift nine. For example, o shift one. There you go. It changes there, right? So if you've got to hold shift three and we'll change to that, which is audio. Then you got caption graphics. Let me change to that. These are different different workspaces. Say if you wanted to add in Texas and what have you. There's all these are good templates here that we can use, we will use later on or you can make your own as well. So you can literally just drag these into the clip. Obviously we aren't going to clip it at the moment. But these are all like animated classic credits. What have you? There's so many things you can play with news template and then you can download other templates. So there's all these different workspaces. Once you've finished editing, you can go to Color. Go to editing which we were on, which we are going to be working at most effects. Basically everything changes the whole graphics. Graphics. Learning. Obviously this is the screen. Then you can customize, pop this out. There's all these other ones, right? And no one to nine. So that's just a basic overview of the interface. The other stuff you need to know is that in here, this is where you can locate your files. So all your followers on hair, which we can import in. I'll just make this a bit smaller. So that's out of the way. But these are all the files you can obviously go and locate wherever your folder is and bring the follows in that way library affects, you've got your transitions, cross fades, video effects, video transitions, cross dissolves. Got your other dissolves that you can use. Just move that they're a bit bigger so you can see all these different kind of, you know, you've got sideswiped page pill, slides, wipes. We can go with these scientists and zooms, different types of zooms, cross lean one way or one type of question. But these are all anime also got audio feed or the effect. You've got. Video, Video Effects, brightness, gamma, distorted color, color changes, color, correct? Well, have you transform moving stuff around? There's a whole lot of filters here you can play with, but we just normally use little transitions here and you can experiment around with those. This is the screen where you will see the playback. This is the timeline where clipboard come in and we'll go over that later one when we import our clips in. And that is this is the editing panel. When you import the clipping, you'll see you can scale and translate the editing panel here and you can alter their filters, ND filters you put in, in this area. This is the main things you'll be working on. Very simple. It doesn't have to be complicated. You've got your little tools here. You've got your eraser tool here for cutting. You've got your pen tool here for marking, spots, texting, dragging, hold, shifting whole clips and timelines here. Select two very simple stuff. Audio channel here, this is your audio channel. So all in all, it's just a simple interface. We'll dive more into it when we start bringing eclipse in. Just a little overview of Adobe Premiere, things that you will be using most. Up here. This is basically sequence sequence settings, which is also the sequences and series of resolutions and what have you that you can, you can put it in. You got your preferences, hair, general, keyboard shortcuts, you can customize that. We can go over that graphic style is basically all the same stuff here, which is in the Workspace is our Paris or graphic towers. Like everything is simple. Very simple menu here, which you don't really have to worry about. It's just a workspace. Hardly use this to only sequence editor, sometimes sequence settings just to set my resolutions. But hardly use any of these menus up here because I have shortcuts and what have you, which we'll go over as well. Guys, that's a little simple overview of the premier interface or our guy. So yeah, that's just a simple layout. It's not that complicated. It doesn't have to be. I've been using this layout for the last 567 years. And you don't have to make a complicated everything, just keep it simple and you'll find that your workflows more efficient. Regarding the next video, we'll talk about farm management. How to keep your followers in the right places so it doesn't over-complicate the project. I'll see you in the next video. 3. File Management: Hey guys, welcome back to the next video. This is about the farm management. So we're just trying to find a location where they can keep the order falls. Very important. Let's check this out. All right, guys. So e.g. let's go to say you want to start a project. So let's go to Desktop e.g. or Monday dry and wherever. Yeah. Let's say I go to right-click plaintiffs here I want to do, Let's just call this Test. So you've created a folder. Now what you wanna do when we talked about file new project, starting a new project in pulmonary, you just go to New Project. And then it's going to ask you for the location. Location is where you just made that test. So duster main folder. And then in there you name the project. So I'll name it test as well. Okay? Now when you open up that file management there, if you go into your test, you'll see as your Premiere for That's your textbook. Now, this is your folder, this is your main folder you'll be working in. So in here for your video, you might have images, texts. So you might have in the room is like I'm filming now. And you want to put that from the camera onto. What I tend to do is I tend to have a folder called roll clips. Clips. And inhale might have chapters, I might have e.g. filming this, right? So this is a week I could call this file management. Manage management, right? I know that the clips in there is the film I'm doing now, I'm filming now. Then also, you'll notice when we do the course, there will be images you want to use. So you can have a folder called images. And then you could have a folder also called audio. So you know where all your audio clips or you could have one call, you can have one called gifts. Or if you're using gifs, animated clips, if you're using Eclipse, loads, loads of stuff you can use. You can think of if you're using in your projects. So that's just a little video on farm management having everything all in one area. So use you create one folder, call it whatever your project you're working on. Then you open up Premiere and in Premier, you locate that folder. And that's where you put your premier file. So test, as you can see it, test and an in there, you put all your other folder structures. So I'll see you in the next video. Okay guys, so that was the file management. So we just want to we're just doing this so we can keep everything in one place, allocated in one place. This is the same as when I was, when I work on a freely package maya, which I use for video games and animation. And what Maya does it when you create a project file with the project name. And in that file you'll have like audio, folder, images, movies, passes, rendering, all these folders in one project. And that's all it is. You want everything in one project. Which is really important. And same with video games in terms of like when we work in the whole company, we have one program. So you could use a program like peripherals or alien brain for taught us so many different project file management softwares out there. And everyone checks in all the files in that one project management software. Then you can check out the files if you're using them without getting too complicated about this stuff. But basically you've got one area where all the team knows that that's where all the falls or if someone is working on a file that you want, because it's checked out, you can't overwrite it. So then you just email your colleague and say, oh, I need to work on that file. Do you mind finishing off saving it and checking it back in? So it's not like that here, but the farm management system is very similar in that. But anyway, instead of me babbling on thus far, I just want everything in one place. That's all it is. Just so you know, everything's in that one folder and you're not looking around everywhere. Or I go to the next video we'll talk about is actually creating a new project, which is similar to the farm management, but it's just a bit different work, create a location within Premiere to create a new project by talking about in the next video. So I'll see you next video. 4. Creating A New Project File: Hey guys, welcome back to the next video. So here we will be creating a new project. So in the previous one we had a farm management, so we just wanted to see where we're going to keep all the files. This is very similar, but what it is in Premier, you just creating a project. That's the main thing. And you're basically creating it in the same place that you had your farm management. That's all it is, just creating a project within Premiere. So we'll go through that now and we'll take it up. All right, guys. So when you first start premiere, the first thing you wanna do, you load it up through Adobe Cloud so you can just select one of these songs to Premiere Pro will be going through and then a screen like this one come up. Now these are the previous ones I've been working on. But all you need to do is go to New Project. You go to New Project and then we will browse here to location. You need to know you want to put your folders in the right place. So we're browsing. File management is really important. So over here, I've already created one called Skillshare. Skillshare courses. Select the file folder and press Select Folder, and then you just title it wherever you want to title it. So we will do premier underscore course. There is no put underscores because I've got a habit in our work in the video game industry and the naming conventions. If you have a space than code can sometimes mess that up. So you have to put an underscore. So that's just a little habit that I've got when it comes to file management. But you could put a space in this case and then just press and then you'd have to worry about any of this. You can just press, Okay. And then you'll see the screen come up with this. So this is our cause I have a large monitor here. This is basically your playback. So what I can do is I'll just move this like this nasty plane up window. So this all in all, this is the interface. You have your effects, your farm management here, all your files come in here. And this is your timeline, and this is what you see. So very simple, nothing complicated. And this is just a simple layout. There's different layouts we'll go over. But this is the simplest layout. And this is the, if you go to View here, Window Workspaces. This workspace is the editing workspace. You can see here I'll go through these bit more later on in the course. But we want the editing on which is simple like this guy. This is just more to do with the farm management, but you're creating the Adobe project within where you want your flowers to be. That's all it is. You creating the same you haven't it in the same location as all the other files. So that's in a nutshell. So very simple to the point. Okay guys, I'll see you in the next video. 5. Importing Editing Movie Clip: Hi guys. This video is about importing your actual row for edge and go my Dropbox and get the footage for this project, which I've got all on their own. You can do your own, which I encouraged because you'll have a nice little video at the end that you can be proud of. You did it. But it doesn't matter. Nothing wrong with using same project files that I'm using. So fine, we're all learning here, right? So not a big deal. This is very simple, just showing you how to import the rule for insulin. So let's dive in and I'll show you how to do that. Okay, guys, so now we're going to import a file from our project, cause project, which we can, you can download this file from my Dropbox is a link in the description below, you will see it. So what we'll do, we'll just go to File Import. Now there's two ways of doing this, so we can go, so I'll just go here and go to e.g. this course we're doing now and cause files and then hear from one of my videos for my fitness journey. There's one video calls, system and habits. This is the one I'll put up. So it's going to use this for is just an example for this course. This is the raw footage from the camera. It's dated like this. So all you do, you press it what you want and you guys open and it will import. It depends on how big the file is. It might look a bit more longer. So it comes up in this library here. All you do is you drag it into the timeline here. Once you drag down, you can see the footage is up here. And then you can just move it around here. And it might take a bit of time to load, but if you wait for it and it all come up and then you can see here these tracks here are smaller yet. So if you double-click, they will open bigger. And then you can see oh, the wave thousand. And then you can press, press and minus on the keyboard. And that will bring your clipping close or far away. So this is very good. It's very common you use it to go in and out. I could be like okay at the start, I could be like any dead space. So there's dead space here just before I talk. So then I can just basically, what you can do is you can come here. So instead of going here to your razor tool and kainate, then going back, selecting it, then deleting it. You can basically go to wherever you are that you if you want to get rid of anything before that, all you do is you put the timeline where it is. Press Q and it gets rid of the side. It just a little shortcut that's so useful. Today. You can just start from there. All right guys, So you gotta be careful because if you have, say, e.g. audio and extra audio clip here, I know this video is about important, but I'm also just talk about this as well. So e.g. if I go back and say, if we go to Audio, say we download this track, import this track. And I put it here. And say if I come here randomly here, Q, it will also delete the audio. This is a common mistake. Sometimes what you can do is in order for this layer not to be effective, you just lock the layer. There's a locked layer here and everything turns to that little lines like this. Now, if you go in here and you press Q, it won't affect the locked area, just to top, so you can do that as well. So sometimes when I first started, I was doing it without any locked layers and all my images and everything we're getting cut and I was only what's going on. So that's what it is. You just want to lock the layers. So this is just a video on importing. I know I talked a bit about the shortcuts, but it's very simple, right? Then another way you can do it, delete everything. So if we delete everything here, okay, so another way you can import as well, you can go to Windows Explorer, go to the actual location where your file is. And then you can literally just drag and drop it into the timeline in here. That comes up automatically in the library here. And you have the footage here. So you can drag and drop basically as y instead of just going to File Import. File Import. Again, you see a shortcut here, controller, you can press Control I. And so in a nutshell, that's how you import files. Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed that. That was just a little introduction to importing files. And you'll find later on the course I talk about audio, which is the same way, important audio files that way too. So this is just one way of just bringing in one way, but there's different shortcuts that you can bring in. You can go to file import or Control, M, sorry, control IN different ways of important stuff in. So that was just a little simple video and showing how to bring your actual rule for Asian to Premier so you can start working on it. Okay guys, so in the next video we'll talk about keyboard shortcuts and how you can customize them. So I'll see you in the next video. 6. Keyboard Shortcuts: Hey guys, welcome back. So Premier is very much like any other software creating software, even like e.g. I. Relate back to Maya, which I use in the video game industry for animation. Completely customizable. Same thing with Premiere is completely customizable. You can go in and go to the actual keyboard. When you go into the Edit preferences keyboard, you'll see the literary, the keyboard, and it shows you every single key. Every single key does. And you can swap that around, can customize it to how you like. Let's check that out. Okay guys, we're gonna do some keyboard shortcuts. Now. All you do is go to Edit and you go to keyboard shortcuts. Now here, what we're gonna do is that e.g. you got every single key has like everything related to sell razor tool on C. But sometimes you might not like the way this is set up so it can do, you can change it. So e.g. you go to Zoom tool hair. And then all you do is you look down here. Have a look down so you see the razor tool is area. So we do just drag it onto here and it replaces residue. Now for some reason, in this version of adobe Premiere, if I let cross that out and I want to re-select, it, doesn't let me drag it in. So you have to do it over the existing commands. So let's do that again. I didn't pass. Okay, so it's not going to save that. So if I go back, you can see Zoom. And you see this has zoom tool. You don't want to delete that depending on what version of Adobe you got. It might work on some of them it does. Usually tree and just select the tool you're going to use and just drag it on top and replace it automatically. And if you don't like that, you can press Control Z to undo. And it should create that didn't work because sometimes that does work. So just something to take note of. You can just cross it out without pets, okay, it won't save any changes. So if you go back in again, if we look zoom, zoom tool is there and say if we want the razor tool there instead you just select it, drag it there. And then that becomes a visit to that is also but you can change that to obviously what the previous one was. Change it around if you like. For some reason this version is a bit unstable, doesn't really go on top of replace it when you cross it over like this way. Anyway, traveling around it, but the others are the same. So what else? What else you can do? Well, if you're running out of keys, there's also like control. So you can do Control H or Control V. Like you have a classic control C, control V, copy and paste as we know, Control Z, undo. So when you're running out of keys, and even if you run out of control and keys, you can do Control, Control Shift, right? Then you've got more keys available. Because if you just take this off, you can see all of these are taken, most of the normal keyboard I've taken. But you can completely customize this to how you want. But there's an infinite amount. What are infinite? It is finite and that, but there's more than enough on here customizable that kids that you need. But if you run out of space, just press Control. I'd done if you want to use controlling F 1s because a bit further up, but Control Shift. And you've got 4120 up there, quite a few letters here as well. So it's completely customizable. And then once you customize everything, you just press Okay, and it saves your settings and that's accustomed to you. And also I need to point out these drop buttons. So if you're using drop menu, sorry, if you're using, say e.g. Final Cut Pro, you can bring all your settings and form Final Cut Pro into Premiere. It's a bit like me when I use, when I use Maya and I want to go to 3D Studio Max. Maya integration tools that you can use your Maya settings you can put into 3D Studio Max for those who are using 3D software. So that's very useful as well. So you've got all the other programs as well. So application is really good because you have different panels and you can literally customize a keyboard for each panel. So depending on what panel you're in, the keyboard with switch, according to that, she's not going to capture. So as you can see, the capture email is just not much customization as you can customize that Lumetri Color panel. So you can completely customize each and every section of a workspace to n, which we'll go over. But that's just something I wanted to point out as well. Application is the main one which were in when I'm in tunnels. I mean, like all of these gears are OLED panels that you're working in. And then you've got, you can really change into these than the keyboards can change as well. How you've customized simple video, they just wanted to get straight to the point of the keyboard so you can customize that however you want. I normally keep it default. For this basic editing that I do. I don't need to really change that much. If you want to, you can do that. All right, guys, I'll see you next video. Okay guys, I hope you found that video useful. And please, I encourage you to find a workflow and keyboard shortcuts that suits you because then you'll work, make your workflow more efficient. It might take you a while to get used to first, but as soon as you start playing around with the keys, you will find that your workflow is more efficient. I find that a lot when I do it in my customize it short, keep it. And what have you. Certain things that we actually do in Maya where you have to flatten the curve, spline the curve, make it. I've got that order. F has flattened DOS as blinds and stuff like that just makes your work for a more efficient over the weeks. You'll notice the minutes cut down because you have your really quick I'm just going through Premiere and editing your work and what have you. So I hope you can take something from this and I encourage you to customize and find a work for us you to. The next video we'll talk about in just a filter that are useful for sound, for reducing the noise. And we'll explain that more salts in the next video. 7. Adding DeNoise Filter: Welcome to the next class, my friends. Now, in this video we're going to talk about when you import your video file, there was always a certain amount of noise in the background. And that could be background noise. Could be maybe a little bit machines in the background. You can hear a little noise. Now there's a filter you can use in Premiere called de-noise, and you can control the amount. And it also make your voice a bit more deeper and just give that professional sound. So let's dive in and check that out. Okay, guys, so the project file we're working on here, I'll existing one. Or you can have your file, whichever one you're working on, which I encourage you-all file. So we have our file here, I just put the volume down. And if you play eggs in the years to come, you can hear the background is a little bit of a hiss. So what we do is we go to effects and we go to D or D, n and l come up here and noise reduction in audio effects. Well, the other way you could do is go to order effects. And then you go to noise reduction here and de-noise. And literally all you do is just drag this. So I just put this down it. You just drag this de-noise onto it. And it will create a more of a deeper voice for you so it sounds more professional and just the background is a bit more quiet, like a tiny bit. So I'm going to be a much better, you will hear it on your video. But when you're doing it, but you can hear the difference and it just makes your voice a bit more deeper. Now, I normally do this as soon as I bring the clipping because, you know, you could edit all the clips like this. Then have them up and have a really long timeline. And then you'll have to probably go back and then select everything and then you can drag the noise on, which is still quick, but I just tend to do it straight away because it's all on the timeline. There is no edit, so cuts and it just goes through the whole wave audio file at the bottom. And the other thing you can use once you apply the noise. So I'll just undo this. And if you select the audio or the clip and you go up to the editing controls there, you'll see your filter is there. Then you can go to custom setup edit. And then by default it's on 40, the slider here. And then you can just adjust this in what you want. More noise or less noise. I normally leave it at 40 per cent. How it is default isn't good enough. You can play around with it to suit your settings. But I normally find that default is pretty good. So that's the D noise filter. Very simple. I just tend to do it as soon as I bring the tracks and import them in. And then I'll see you in the next video. All right guys, so I hope you found that useful. I use this filter for everything. I think when you put it on, it reduces the background noise obviously, but then your voice becomes a bit more deeper, gives that kind of professional field. You can add other filters on to make your voice deepening the base. You can experiment around with all the other tutors available in premium. So on the next video, we'll talk about text. So we'll add in texts and different ways of doing that. So I'll see you next video. 8. Adding TxtTitles: Welcome back guys. This video is about texts. There's a couple of ways you can do this. I'll show you both ways. Again. This course is all about to the point. Keep it simple. So let's dive in and I'll show you exactly how we do our do that. All right guys, Let's keep it simple that we do on this course. Want to add a text one or you can do it file. This is one way, yeah, legacy title. This is cool. This title, wherever you want to call it, this box appears. Here. You have your screen, and this has all the properties. So I'll just a textbox. You only do is click in there and a text box appears. So we'll just type systems and habits. As you can see it stay level. Below here is a set of styles, font. So let's just go for bold one. So is it just, we can see it for the sake of this. Up here. We have all the positions we can put. We can put the opacity, the font size, which is right here. To make it bigger like this, color changes. Let's change it to yellow, metric, bold. So many things you could do is move it up then down here, once you're happy with it, all you do is close the box. Then what happens is it appears I just move my cell phone should appear in here yet. So emotional Catholics capacity. Actually, that's not right. That's wrong. That we got from new new title. And let's just call it again this please. And then we'll make this yellow this mucus hair a bit so you can see them pop to make it yellow. Then we'll make the font bigger. Font size with that data, change it to something more clearer like this. Make it smaller calls, has a big dot, right? So if we close this, there you go. See it comes up here and delete that. Comes up automatically in your project pause for literally just drag it from here. If you select it. Put this up here. You can see a poverty box here, comes up and edit the same thing here you can scale. You can make it bigger and smaller enough to go back into the other bit. But if you want to do is double-click and it takes it back into the editing box. And then you can make all the changes you want from it. And that's about it. And then this is you can extend it and make it longer or shorter. And then if you want to go to effects, you can go to your Effects here. There will be a tutorial on transitions, but just for the sake of it, you go to video transitions, dissolve. You can either drag it here. When you drag it here you can see these things are created. So if I play this now, just volume below, notice in little increments, you can see how the notice in little increments, my convective words fade-in. And you can select the end of this and make the transition longer. So you see the fading will be longer there. Or you can select that transition, make it shorter. So that's what you can do with the effects. So that's one way. Another way you can do is if you go to, if we go back to edit, how we will normally normal state. If you've got two windows and programs, workspaces and graphics. Graphics, this panel on the side will come up. This one here. Now, these are all templates that you can use, which are really useful. So literally, all we'll do, we'll drag it onto terminal, same as the tub tile. And if I press Play now and complete difference now see the title comes up. They're only do is double-click and a box like this comes up and you just double-click here and type in systems and habits. And then you just cross that out. And there you go, you see system happened. And now these will already have transitional elements. Make them pick their face. So it kinda is or you can change that around. You can use these values here, play around. These are all related to this block that you've put in. And then you can come back to browse browsers where the other titles also, while you have that in play, you can drag another one in. And then if you click that, you can see it. Edit, browse, edit. So whenever you want to edit and you switch, it switches to that one, the values you see, that one, that one. So you can move this around and do whatever you could change it. So you've got your browser. If you want to add other ones and edit, you can select and you can edit the existing brands. There are two ways. Simple ways you could just add text to make your video look much more professional when you're explaining a little, Texas, come here and they always next video more interesting. Alright guys, sweet and simple to the point. Like I said, that's all you need to know in an editing. It's not about these fancy graphics is about how you cut the footage and put it together, make it entertaining like that. All this other stuff, jazz at the top ads, which is nice as well as just gives a nice presentation. But yeah, this is what I've been using it. You have to use the advanced stuff. I will do a course on advanced premiere. This is very basic beginners that I have been using on my YouTube channels as well. I haven't really used advanced stuff. And you don't really need it unless you're advancing more. You got more followers and what have you and you want to start doing more fancy production stuff. You can. Then you can, can you tend to hire people to do that, but just get your content out there in a simple, effective way. Just keep everything simple, I would say so. Yeah, I hope you've hope you liked that video. I'll see you in the next one. Bye guys. I hope you found those methods useful. They have helped me just put Texas in. There is a section in there was talks about Photoshop and how I use that to bring in text and graphics. But that's later on in the course. But these two methods is what I use quite commonly, and I do use the Photoshop one as well, which we'll see later on. The next video. We'll just talk about the black video, which I use quite a bit and I'll explain to you why I use that. All right, guys, I'll see you next video. 9. The Black Video: Hey guys, welcome back to this video and I will be explaining the black video. Now normally, when I start my video, as always, have a kind of a buffer. It might be five-second buffer. Start five-second buffer at the end to dislike bringing the video so you can fade in and fade out. Normally I just do it at the end. Now, we can start on my YouTube videos. There's quite like my video just comes up, right? But at the end, what I do is when I finished the video, I'll put this black video up and then I fade it in or just leave it and then fade out the music video, which you'll see. When I explain it. Let's check out this video so you can check out what I'm talking about. Hey guys, Just a quick video here on the black video just before I start, when you import your files in, there may come in small like this or they do. All you do is double-click the tracks to make them bigger fluid tip there. That may be if I didn't say earlier. Okay. So the black video is something that you don't have to use it, but it's something like people use at the start or at the end or both together. But what it is is just like a five-second black video. That's all it is. So if you just go to File New Black video, you just press, Okay. And it appears in your project file here. All it is, drag it. Now you see here it's just a five-second block. That's all it is. Normally I tend to put it right at the end when my video finishes. So it gives a bit of space for video to kind of end and breathe a bit. That's all, all I use it for. You don't have to use it. But it's just something I'd like to point out if you wanted to use it as an option there. So it just kind of seals off the end and then you can just explore until the end. What I would do normally is if I've got music, I would start here and fade it down into the black so it goes. And you can also do it at the start. So you can put it at the start to give yourself a bit of a breather before it starts. Have some music in the background. And then it starts. You don't have to use this, but just something I use software, I just share it with you guys. Alright guys. So that was the Black video. You can it's optional. You can use it if I want. I'm just showing you my workflow. This is what I use. I think it just wraps everything up at the end so that you can feed in your sound or graphics or what have you. I hope you found that on some use and you might use it, but you don't have to use this as summing values. So the next video we'll talk about markers which are quite important I find for my workflow, right? So I'll see you next video. 10. Adding Markers: Hey guys. So markers, markers are basically once, once I've edited everything, which we'll do at the end of the food politics. I go through the footage and I decide, all right, where do I want graphics? Where do I want text? Where do I want sound effects? What you do as you're going through it, you just press M on your keyboard, which you'll see in the video. Then it creates these yellow markers on the timeline that lets you know when you've got a lot of footage, you can't keep going back and forth. Viewer is going to miss with the part was where you wanted to put graphics or what have you. These markers just put a little yellow markers everywhere on the timeline, which you'll see in the video, is so helpful because it saves so much time. You could just go back to a particular mark and say, Oh, that's right, I was going to put this graphically. We'll just grab this text or this sound effect. So without further ado, I'll explain in the next video how I use molecules. Okay, guys, so I didn't mark because this is really useful. So what I'll do, let me just get this raw footage. I got this raw footage here and I'm like, once you've cleaned up and just put the volume by atomic, see, once you cleared, cleared it all up, e.g. you get rid of Let's go here. Get rid of all these silent positions we've got here is to say if you come here and we delete all of these, just e.g. sake, we're deleting all the silent bits. And then say you're going through and you're like, alright, you know what? The reason for this transformation, the reason is so that we can instill these habits. E.g. where I say the reason we get all this fat off first. So I can still these habits. I could put a graphic in there. So I could put like a guide. I'll put a before and after of me. So what I would do is I will, alright, at this point, let me press M plus M. If you notice at the top here, you get yellow little marker. And that's all it does. These markers, they're really good. So you can go for your footage and you can be like mostly talking about here, nutrition plan. So it can be, alright, I'll show my nutrition plan there. Plus M. Then you just work your way through M. You can put n along these lines wherever you want. And you can get the markers here to there, come up here. Here. I've cut this and as you can see, the mark is coming up here as well. So they either come up here and you can move them as well however you want. So a very good tool to use when you're going through your footage. And you want to just remember where you were. But at least you know, once you've marked alright, what was at that mark? What was that? Again coming? They're putting a mark here, putting a marker. You can go exactly to that place, around that place, and then you can just put it in. So that's a very good tool to use once you've edited your scenes. And you're just going through the whole foot. For age, you're thinking about where to put your B-roll as they say right there, a role. Your role is this right now, as I'm talking to you at the camp with the B-roll is e.g. say if you're reviewing a product, so say if I'm reviewing this phone, the B-roll is the filming this unimportant on top of me speaking, and then it comes back to a road which is me talking. So that's kind of I might do a video on that actually, just to clear the two rolls up. But that is what it is in a nutshell. Yeah. So this is a very, very important I use these a lot once I've cleaned up my footage because I know I want to put this there, this graphic here and wherever I go. So that was the little video on markers. Very helpful. I always there's never been an editor where I don't use them. It's just so useful for me, save so much time because we've got everything there, makes sense, doesn't it? It's common sense. You just put everything there so you know, you can go back and if you've missed something, just check. You can check all the markers. It's just perfect to, very easy to do. Plus m comes up. In the next video, we'll talk more about important texts and images from Photoshop. I know this is a premier course, but there's a little bit of shopping is very basic, but I do use Photoshop to bring in graphics and, or having next video, we'll check that out. 11. Importing TxtImages With Photoshop PNG Files: Hey guys, so photoshop time now, so we use Photoshop. I just created this quick graphics and then I just bring them in as PNGs. They transplant background into the videos which you see in this next video coming up. So let's check it out. Okay guys, so this is, I know this is a premier course, but this is sometimes I use Photoshop to do my images. And what I tend to do is I'll go to File New. I try and make a high reds. Actually seven or nine is pretty good. So we've got one here, 7.9. Food for my particular project, we're working on my transformation documentary. The videos were using, I put a lot of these graphics up where I'll go here to the rectangle tool. And then I would come in here and I will draw a rectangle just for some of my graphics. What you'll find here, you can control the width of it, how big you want it. So we can do it a bit bigger. You can control the corners here, the boundedness. So I add a bit rounded. And then here you can feel whatever color you want. You can choose whichever one you want in here. And then you can go to the color wheel. However you like. I kept on black. Then you just go press one of the two there and then you've got your two there. And then what I did, I just cropped this, made it so it snaps exactly there. When you put a file in Photoshop, you always get this background file here, which is locked. I tend to just double-click it, double-click it, this comes up, you just make it into a normal layer and then I just delete it. So behind I've got a transparent. Now what I do is I go to text and e.g. this one. So my transformation, my weight training, fat loss journey. One of the things I like to do is take photos every day, every week, sorry, front side and back. So what we'll do in this graphic, we do in my, in my videos, I've explained the five things I do, which is like measuring your waist, take photos for a nutrition plan, drink water, and I've put them into little graphics like this. So we'll do it for the taking the photo one. So let's go in here. Let's make the font really small first because that is massive. If we type it in, sometimes it's, let's do that again. If you pass it in, as you can see is black hair. So when you type, it's going to be black font. So what I tend to do, I just put in some words, pest control, a go up here and just go to white and see it comes up. So just if you ever find that happens is because your color is the same color as the background. So here we've got, we've got our five fonts here. So we'll do, we'll do, we will do, take. It's gone up there. That's fine. This was a god. That again, this code to take, is it higher-end was happening there? Let's put it back. Text. Very strange. I see what? Okay, So what we'll do, we've made this, we made this template so we can do Control S. You can go here or we can go to File, Save As. Go to Save As, and we'll save it in our Skillshare course. Images. We'll just put it in here for now. And we'll save it as a PNG. The reason when I save it as a PNG is because you want the background to be transparent. You want those corners to come out. That's what we've done. That's why we delete the background image in Photoshop, which I'll show you. So here we can type in photos. Take photos. Okay. So we'll save this scene. And if we go to text, okay, So what we'll do, for some reason, Photoshop, It's not liking this. So if we close this and reopen our file, which was the Photoshop file. Now if we go to text, it comes up, sometimes it's a bit buggy like that. So you may need to save your file as a PNG, which we've done P&G here, as you can see here, what we could do, we could type in, take, take photos. And then what I'll do, I'll just press Enter. And you see that big space there in the words. All you do is select it all and you go here to characters. You can see these little characteristics and the discourses, the layers, this press Control Z to undo. And then this will bring the letters closer. So we just adjust. And then you've got sideways. Spreading out. You can do all kinds of things. Here. You can spread it out. So you can play around with these values here if you like. And then what I'll do, I'll just make it bigger. As you get bigger, you may need to spread it out there. And then what we'll do, we'll do in the middle. Everything seems okay. We'll just make that space isn't there. That's okay. That looks nice. Then what we'll do, we will take photos. I might change the color here and make it yeah, that looks better. That take photos. Then now what I wanna do, I wanna add a image beneath. So I'll just go to File Open. And I'll navigate to my transformation coarse hair. I'll do, I've got all these images here. So I'll just go to this one which is a PNG. As you can see. I literally because look, PNGs don't bring in the squared checkers in the background. This is moving in here. And it's massive, right? You can see as massive. So what do you do? You can compress press Control T will go to edit, transform, scale, either way works or Control T. And then you can see when you open it up, you can see that's where the transformer, so you just, you just literally scaling it down. So you can scale it down. Scale it down. That's a good thing with a high res image, you want to get high residents because they are scared it down and still look good. And that's it. I wandered around here and then Photoshop, adjust it to the middle, how you want it, which is great. Another way you can do it is when you're in here, you can press Control T and start scaling it down here. And then drag it down, and then drag it over. And then you just scale it a little bit more. So there's, those are ways of doing it. But that's one way. Then what I do once I've got that, I'll press Control 0, S or File, Save As. And then again, come down here. I don't know why they haven't got ps. T should have P, P, and G. Sorry. There you go. We've got it controls the PNG. What you do is just click that and save that, save it over that old file that we had. So we've got a File here ready? So what we do, we go to Premiere and then we can be like, alright, I want to important control import. And then we'll go back to our Skillshare images is our photo right? Then we just put it in here. And there you go. There it is. Now what you can do. You can just go to effects. You can scale it up, select it. You can scale it up. Move it to the side. You go. In for this particular course, what I did, TFX, Kansas, the first immersive video. I'll just move this here. And I used Mobius transition. If we go and check this out and put a Mobius Zoom at the end, that made it bigger than what I did. I just made this transition a bit shorter. So the zipped up a bit quicker. And I'll show you what I mean when you see, when you look at the screen now, look how it comes up. That's fine by me. And then it goes away like that. So it zips up. Or you can make it longer. Look, I'll just come up a bit more. But I want it to just zip up. I made the timing of transitions. So that's how you bring in images into Premiere with Photoshop, very simple PNG files. The PNG files is because if you look here, the roundedness of the edges are still there. If I didn't do PNG, e.g. I'll show you if I did. So let's say we go to Edit flattened image. C are flattened it, and if you look now, there's these white bits on the side. Now if I go to save as PNG, save it as 001, just e.g. sake. I go back to Premiere and I go to control eye, which is controlling port. Now if I bring this in here, you will see the white around it. You see that there's all white around it. Whereas this one great thing about the great thing about PNGs man, there just to transparent. Whereas this one, if you look at this perfect, Bring it down and just make it a bit bigger so you can see the difference. Look complete, nice roundedness, and then photo roundedness. So that's why you do PNGs and you delete the background layer, which we talked about early on. So if you want to use Photoshop, you can, you can do it within Premiere, but I just find it easier. Just cook it into graphics in Photoshop. And of course, working in industry, I've got that unfair advantage of doing it quickly, but it's something that can be learned easily, easily, very easy to do. Little simple graphics like that. Get the PNGs. Now this camera image you can get off. I got all of these offer Internet, I just typed in high res dot PNGs, camera and cartoony. You've got loads on Google that you can go to make sure you get the ones that are dot PNG and an open them up in Photoshop and make sure that when you open the files up in Photoshop. If we go back, let's go back here. Just make sure when you got a PNG file and you're opening, move, move it, test it to see if just the image moves. Sometimes what you'll notice is that image will move and the background will move as well. Just check a bit. That means when you drag it over, not just gonna be the camera, it's going to be the checker bit and you don't want that, you know, you want a transparent background. So it's just this moving. Alright guys, I hope that's clear. Just wanted to share that with you. That's what I that's what I use. If you find it useful, you guys can use it to, hey guys, I hope you found that helpful. I use Photoshop because I have developed a workflow in there which is quite efficient. So I can quickly, if I want a graphic, I can quickly go into Photoshop at it in and then come back and import it as a PNG. And I can, I can scale and trans, translate wherever I want. And it's really been helpful for me when I'm just putting up graphics and what have you and then add transitions to state them out or what have you. Really useful? If you want to do that? Just fine. It's all optional. I'm just showing it's showing you my workflow, some of the stuff I do. And I find that sometimes using Photoshop easier than just going in and premier and pedestrians. What works for me? If it works for you in Premiere, just use that. That's fine too. But just wanted to share that with you. And the next video we'll be talking about adding sound effects and backgrounds. Okay, so I'll see you next video. 12. Adding Background Music Sound Effects: Hey guys. So we're going to add sound and sound effects, which is very similar to importing your raw footage really could go back there. So you're just going to File Import and you just put into sound and I'll explain more of that. And I'll also talk about where I get my sound effects from websites or websites, should I say? Let's check this video out. Okay, so we're going to add some background sounds. So what I've done is I've searched in Google for free sound. And the first thing that come out with this one, Epidemic Sounds. So we go in here and then you can choose any sounds you want. Sound effects will have the positive view. But here you can go and check it out or you can go to any other website you want to check it out. So basically what I do is I've downloaded it and in my farm management. So let's go back to our file. Skillshare course. Will stop. Video editing courses. Course files. I have audio here somewhere. Okay. I had audio and somebody lyric. Oh, here it is. So audio yet. So I downloaded this. So let's just do this for the background. So it's the copyright file from Internet that I downloaded, so it's royalty-free. So what I do is for the background, all I do is I put it, drag it in it and you can see it's all in here. The wave files, the volume up. Now when I play it now you listen. I'm not just saying you can hear it. It's very loud. So all I do is the bar here. You just bring it down, bring the volume down, and now play or what you're thinking. That's why I transform my body as well as orienting fitness is there in the background because well, which was his thinking lifted up as well. So bear great books which some of you are probably red. I just keep it very low. So you can just about if I just add a noise filter. So let's just add a noise filter to come into action every day. Create huge compounding effects. In the years to come can hear it. It's a tiny habits. Like a tiny habit for one year, you're gonna be a much better person. In what? When there's no solid, mostly you can find it if you don't want it too loud. So overpowers the vocals, right? You just want it low enough? I normally keep it low. So we're noticing here, okay. And then e.g. if we go, Let's e.g. sake. 30 images. Let's bring our photo seen back in. Okay, and then let's go to another sound effect which was this. Check it out. Because I think it's yeah, suction populous get this suction pump which is a sound effect. And then basically, I'll put that in the bottom here. And you can see if we zoom in just a little pop Desi. So it goes increments and increments submits low increments a day, then that's the other way what you do, you go back up, you make it higher, increments me. So the highest is there. So let's do that because the vocals are allowed a bit higher. So we know the pop happens there. So what we'll do, we'll just move that so it's in sync as the document, as it comes up, as you can see that. So let's scale this up to let's go to subsequent see it clearly. So commencement day you see little increments and increments and incomplete. So that's what that's how to do, the background noise and sound effects and what have you all in one. Very simple, same as video, but you're using the audio layers. You can chop that as well. So like I said, this course is straight to the point simple. That's how you do the background noise. Bring the levels down by using this control here. And levels up depending on how the sound you want. And just simple stuff right now. So I'll see you in the next video. All right guys. So that was the sounds and important to sound, very similar to, important for everyone to import anything and just press Control. I even images from Photoshop. Same thing. It's all the same, just different format, wav format or MP3 audio that is. So I'll see you in the next video. We're going to start the full edit. Start to finish my workflow, so I'm excited about that. Get your projects ready. Let's do this. And I've seen the next video. 13. Full Edit Start To Finish Part 1: Okay guys, this is it. So what I've done is through the course, I just wanted to explain all the stuff I used for what I'm using in Premier. And these are the features that we'll be using in the actual footage, edit footage we'll do now. We'll be editing everything, adding the graphics, and we're just going to have a bit of fun with this footage. If you don't have a project, you can download it from. I'll put the link in the project section for the files that you need to do this. Without further to do. Let's start editing. All right, my friends, Let's start this. This is the video. We're going to do it all. We're gonna go through it. First thing I'll do. I've got the clip in and I'm going to de-noise the audio. Make sure I already have a filter on there so I can delete that. So alright, so first things first, we denoise it. So let's check this out to three-minute videos. There's a short edit just to show the process of what's happening inspired by Atomic Habits. To first I'm gonna do, I'm going to sort out any silence surrounding areas, any areas that I don't want. Okay. Alright. Alright, so I've got that little hush up the start right? So here. Alright. So what I'll do, I'll come in here and I press Q, and it will delete everything from the rest. All right, guys. So this alright guys. Okay, so I know that that didn't work. So then what you do, Let's put Q to go. So this is about systems and habits, inspired by Atomic Habits by James Clear. By James Clear. And then you can see there's a massive space there. So what we'll do, we'll just delete this. Come here. Press Q because it will delete up today where I've just made the cut. Anything behind that will get deleted, have a skew, comes back, theist really Shortcake a shortcut, but really helps. And BJ, BJ Fogg, time. I just get rid of this empty space here is just around the time. But definitely read them before. Okay, I don't want these dead spaces or so I'm going to delete these. And then I'm going to delete the dead spaces. So we will delete. What I'll do now is just to make things easier, I'll just move these clips up there. Let's check this out. Bj Fogg. Great books. Definitely read them before transformation. That will change your mind if you change your thinking. They changed my life. I don't say that about most books buddies that okay. Just saying that generally I'm saying they change my way of thinking about most books, but these these dead. But I'm not just saying that a genuinely, I'm saying change my way of thinking. So I'll get rid of the middle of it. Generally. It's a bit repetitive there, so I'll just I'm saying they changed them out while you're painting. That's why I cancel my body as well as orienting fitness and unconscious book as well, which was just fine. Okay, so I mentioned warranty fitness and a cautious book, lemon. And genuinely I'm saying about most books but these days, okay, So I know from dance around it the most books that I'm saying, they changed my way of thinking. That's why I can't see my body as well as r. One is oriented fitness and cautious book as well we can do here, I'll put a marker. I want to show my book's coming up on the corner. I'm just editing as I'm editing I put in marketing so I know where I want to show my images that I made in Photoshop. And cautious book as well, which was inspired by the great books, which some of you are probably, you can see from the video on reading from the script because I've got the notes on my monitor here and I'm reading it and recording. So every time I go back, I'm going to delete those. So as you can see here, some of you have probably read, just do a cut here. Then what I'll do, I'll just delete it from them. When you read these books, talk about it. Because we read these books talk about incremental actions everyday. Create huge compounding effects in the years to come. So tiny habit. So you could do like a tiny bit for one year. We're going to be a much better person in what you're trying to do. Okay, that was a bit long. So what I'll do, I'll come in. Cut back that person in what you're trying to achieve. The following year, we are noticing neural increments make a big difference in a boat. So I'm reading that the reason for this transformation. Okay, so, alright, so what I'll do, I'll just cut this off. And I'm saying So here's what I'll do. I'll just q that pass through there. So bring it back. If we look now, increments make a big difference and above. So for this transformation, the reason we get on a boat, Let's make a big difference. Big difference. That's where we'll stop it because then it doesn't flow as well to put it here and there. Now if we look in a competitive, so for this transformation, then we get all I'll start off first so that we can instill these habits in us. I'm creating this kind of lifestyle life. Once your team that got lost, then we decide all I do want to add muscle. We want to stay how you want to go to that next space and you want to consolidate. I'm just checking out any habits like Hello. How are you all yet? So this is dead space. So if I press Q there again, habits like 10,000 steps for nutrition plan, exercising, sleep. Okay. Here I put markers. Yes, because I want to add 10,000 steps. Sleep on, add all these graphics, which I'll put one off. Once I've done the cuts, nutrition plan, exercising, sleep, drink water. All of these get instilling. Alright, there's a little bit of a swallow. So I can just delete that. All of these get instilled in me. See I'm dead space there, you can see I'm reading. So what I'll do, it was just press Q. So what I'm doing is I'm I'm cutting go I'm cutting where I want to do that again. Yeah. So you can see so basically I'm starting here cutting and I'm thinking I'm moving this way, I want to get rid of everything. So let's say here. Once you cut here and you come to, when you bring your cursor here, just press Q, and it'll bring every shift, everything back to where you cut it. So see you see that it's cut it straight there. So just save so much time that Q we create these habits and systems that we worked for us to help us. To create good habits, we have to make it desirable. And I was James Clear talks about and to break a habit. To make it, to break, break a habit. Good book. James Clear has a great chapter of his book. This is exactly when sources. So now I'll just stop it there. What I should do is so just looking at camera a bit more dentin are not straight it would because then the cuts will be all jumpy but you learner. And then he also took and then what you do, I don't want that. So they press Q strip this up. And then he also talks about how it exactly where the sources. And then he also talks about how it really helped that term then cutting back. So we'll leave that exactly creating habits on top of existing habits. So it could be like maybe you want to join it, right? So what do you do when you go to bed, when you go today? The SI unit, the blanket out. You can have your book on the pillow, you join on the color. Let's pick that up. I think the rest of this is pretty good that you just took a habit stacking anything. Okay. Something. Definitely check them out my pocket and then ends. Okay, So what we'll do, we'll just move this here. Alright, so we've got our edit. That's brilliant. Now what we wanna do, we will go back to our markers. Will act. Alright. Let's put our gonna go to control input. Or the other way you can do is File Import. I've got all these project files on my Dropbox links. I'll put it in the description. You can go along with me on this. So if I go to Skillshare Course, Images, see everything here. We wanna do is, let's bring all of these in first, these images. And then also let me bring it in. Summation. I believe it was Danny. Yeah. That's the books. So here I've got a marker here and I want to put these, I want to put just put myself up here. I want to put this bouquet. The marker is right. As well as orange Anacostia here. That's it. So I started here. What I'll do, just make this a bit smaller. You can still see me. We'll scale it up. So we're going to scale, scale this up. Maybe a bit smaller than that. And then I'll just move it up. I want it in the top corner here. So list is referenced it around. Okay? Okay, So what I'll do, I'll add just to make it a bit fancy, Let's add. And you notice, you notice when you press these arrows, it's not opening. That opening is because you have something in the search bar that drove me mad when I first started. So all you do just cross everything out, makes it a search bar is clear, then you can see everything comes up. So that's something if you're getting frustrated, which I did, then decays it. So let's check this out as well, which comes up like this. So Playbooks. Okay. Alright, let's do it up to there. Now I want this transition to be quicker. So what I'll do, I'll just move these in a bit. So it's more snappier. By default is 5 s, 5 s, but it's a bit long. So let's check it out now. Cautious book as well, which was inspired by the way books, which some of you are probably read. These books. That's good introduction right? Now also, I want to go to my other marker with my marketing habits like ten thousands there. Yeah, So what we're gonna do here, I've got all of them here yet. So now here is gonna be a bit different. We're going to have a few video layers up at the top. So we've got 10,000 steps, like 10,000 steps for following nutrition plan. So as soon as that starts is roughly put it there exist some time exercising exercising three times a week. Okay. Let's move this sleep. Sleep would just roughly put them at them. You can change it around. Drink water, drink water. So we've got all of them ready yet. Now what we wanna do, actually, what we should do, let's align these up so they're all on top of each other. What I want, I want them to come up below, so all of them in the same space. So what I wanna do is I select the top one. 14. Full Edit Start To Finish Part 2: And I'm just going to move it out a bit. Let's take the other one. I'm gonna do the same thing. Then let's take the other one the other way. And then the other one will go here. Display. Okay. Let's try and open these. Check these up. Okay. That's what I want. Alright, so now what we wanna do, we want to close first one is this one. So we want to bring this down. I want to make sure that it's all even as well. So we bring it here, bring it down here. That's in the middle. We know that one's in the middle. This one for a nutrition plan. So another thing we can do is we notice that value is 18 64, copy it. And then just paste it can be all the other images. Paste it, all the images. You're going to have exactly the same value. So we know we want them down there. Okay, that's cool. Now, the only thing I knew I wanted to do now is check the spacing. So if I go down to see this, I just want to make the gap, the gap between these two. Want to make sure it's even. That seems, that seems alright. I think this way. Let's try and move this. Go. Just me trying to get it wrong one. Alright, so we've got them all there. And now we can go back and be like, alright, let's check out what you're saying and where it all starts, then we can move it accordingly. Think it's like 10,000, 10,000 steps. Okay, so we move all of this here so we can see properly, okay, 10,000 steps following nutrition plan. Let's see what we can do here now is we can move this in this way. We know this is second for nutrition plan. So we got like 10,000. Okay. So we'll just move this down a bit because it started falling in his nutrition exercise. Weight training, that's the next one. So with this, we can move this out. We know that this is next. We can get the gap right? Wicked. Exercising, sleep, sleep, sleep does, right? We'll put that in. We can do with that one slip is fine. We can probably move it more. They're more of a gap. Estimate. Drink, drink water. Drink water. You go and you see the others disappearing. That's because we haven't stretch this out. So let's stretch all of these out. So they're all, even at the end. All of these get instilled in. So we create this does fine duration. Now what we can do is we can add transitions, which are my favorite transition Mobius. I've put it on. I'll just drag these all on, drag them on, and then drag them at the end to track this at the end. Then we can adjust to transitions. Okay, so then when we come here, we'll just move these in a bit because you don't want them too long, right? And then at the end, Let's check the n runs out. Let's see how they go. So I stop bad, we can leave that right. So if we look at this now, because it check this out, lighters, habits like 10,000 steps for nutrition plan, exercising, sleep, drink water. All of these get instilled in, you know, yeah. It's pretty cool. Isn't that pretty cool? So we can leave that how it is that we work with. That's fine. I'll just save this just in case to save it for us to help us imagine in your fat loss what kids were doing that. And then what we can do now is we end is all Qu. So we'll just add, I normally add black video just to make it look, wrap it all up near the end. When something just definitely check that out. Okay, that's cool. The start. The start. We can do systems and habits. Let's go back to systems and habits, which is this one, assistant in a habit and it should be a title here. Systems. And have it. Yeah, alright, let's use this. We use this as a cyst. This is part of the title. So what we can do, we can select everything, just move it forward, and then drag your image to want to drag this image in here. Okay, so it's a bit small, but we'll just scale it up just for the sake of this example yet. The movie I think I'll select everything and are close to a close-up. And I just try and move this closer so it's close. So at least we've got that happening. Is you've got a title basically, isn't it? Alright, so now what we'll do, we'll add our, we call it soundtrack. So that soundtrack we're talking about, we can always go to File Import and then get your soundtrack audio wherever, wherever it is. So remastered has got audio. Wherever you put it, you get it. I'll put the soundtrack up as well so that you can use that as well. All you're doing is dragging and dropping it. That's all we're doing. And if you look and listen soundtrack, I wanted to start a bit later. I'm having a phone systems and habits. I started here. Started. So let's start. Actually, I want to start your way here. So we delete it there, bring it back. So I want this bit to be this bit. Here. There you go. Where it drops out, the video to stop. So they'll go to Denny's voice. My voice starts now what you do, There's a tool here, which is the pen tool. So what do I get that? And I'd go right where the video is going to start. Put a dot there and put one just before it. And then I'll just bring this down. It brings all of this volume down. You see that line coming down. So there are now if we play, it goes to the sort of drops, the volume drops so my vocals are more alive. And then the music stays in the background by Atomic Habits by James can see, I can make that a bit more low if you want to write books, definitely read them before transmission so you can hear it in the background. And now all you have do now, you can just bring this audio. When isn't it? Print the audio in until it's the end of here. I can write. Then what I do at the end with the black space, I'll just put another dot, another one day there's two dots, doesn't matter where they are. Then you can pick it up and just bring it down all the way so you see it going down. So if you look now fades down, I don't know if you can hear it, but it fades down to That's what I do. When I'm editing it and put it together with you guys. We're also going to nest, not forget to add our little sound effects. The point, yeah, let's go in here. We've gone, we've got the suction cup that we had in the previous videos that I showed you about. What we wanna do is we want to reduce this. So it makes that sound thousands and then make it a bit louder. You heard that point. So as the image comes up, let's see if it works. And thousands and thousands. Okay, that worked. They want a copy, so copy that. And if we come out here and go 1234, those we want, isn't it next year? So let's select all of these, bring it down. For some reason, need to paste it away because then it just goes on top. If I go to Copy and Paste, select this and I go paste, it cuts it in here for some reason because it's active. If I go here and paste it. Still does it see it still does it. You have to do that separately, but anyway, that's fine. There isn't a copy that is because I've edited it. So I'd have to keep moving everything back to the instant forming in his book. We're just going to line these up. Like so. So each one has a little pop. So let's check out this slide. Ten thousands they're playing in his nutrition plan, exercising, sleep, drink water. That's cool. So that's it. We'll add that as well. That's cool. So basically in a nutshell, that's it. That took me about 20 min edit together. That's how you do it. It's a short little clip I wanted to show you. This is my workflow. This is how I normally do it. So if we play through it. So here what you can do, you can also add. So what we can do, we can add dissolve yet. So if we go to dissolve, cross dissolve, put it in here. It will go so you can get, you can do all kinds of stuff. So this video is about, or you can flip it and do whatever you like. So that's, that's how you edit a whole of the clips. So I wanted to show you the other stuff first before in the project, how to do images, how to do transitions, add noise and everything. And this is the last task of the whole course because I wanted to show you everything can how to do it, and then then we can put it all together at the end. So this is a very simple way of doing it. All right guys, I hope you've found out process efficient for fun as well. That's basically my, my way of working. Over the years. I've found a way to just do it a bit more efficiently with the shortcuts and what have you. But that was just a simple footage I wanted to show you how to add graphics, sound effects and what have you. And then exporting, which we'll do next. We'll talk about exporting next now, how to get out there on YouTube. Just export that file. So I hope you enjoyed that and I'll see you next video. 15. Exporting: Okay guys, this is it. We are going to export. Finally, the edit is all done. Final. Happy with it, time to export. So let's go and I'll show you how to export this. Okay guys, so now we will export. So we just can use a simple setting to explore. First thing I do is I select everything and I press the question mark. When you press the question mark on the timeline you can see here. Then you can move it to what you want to export. So you said, I just want this part or this section of the video exploited. Or you can come here and go, I want this part, but we want to select everything and press the question mark and it selects everything. So you know, you've got the start and the end solid. Then you have two options. You can go to File, Export, Media or Control M. I always press Control 0 because I'm used to touch shortcut. But here you will see, it shows you this too. This is what you're exploring and then you can change it here as well. What you want to explore. But we will leave it full because we want it for. Now. Up here, the best compression to use is H.264 for his high-quality and it's less space. So that's the one most people go for. It, have to worry about the rest. Now, this is the compression. Normally I stick to YouTube and I've got 21, 60, but I'll put it on full ten ATP for now. You can use maximum render quality as well if you want. Doesn't matter. But what we'll do, we'll just do YouTube for this example, we will do a YouTube. And here you can see the file size free two-sevenths use maximum render quality. Pretty much still the same. Let's go back to full. And now what you wanna do now is you want to tell the computer where you want to save the exported file, will click on here output, and then here you can choose. So we go to D. So let's go to our courses. Let's just put a folder here called exported, exported, exported. And we'll put systems and habits as that video editing. So if we go to Save, you can see here it says systems and habits. And that's it. And then only do is you press Export. Then it's good because the short video shouldn't take too much time. It's taking to take about a minute, shouldn't take too long. And I will pause and come back after a minute. Okay guys, so that was exported. Now what we can do is go to our folder will be exported, it exported. For some reason. It didn't inherit to the folder name mind. So here it is, system habits. Let's check it out. Okay, that's a bit pixelated because I made it bigger the imagery, but you just make a high resolution images. Some tests that seems to be working on it inspired the business. Just check out the books. They changed. That's why I transfer my money as well as orange. And a cautious because well, there you go. That's come up. So it goes away. It will go. And then there you go. There we go. We've got our things that we need to consolidate to this how habits like 10,000 steps for nutrition plan, exercising, sleep, drink water. He's getting instilling habits system that will macro music slow. The blank of thing. Right? So that exploited, well, all right guys, I'll see you at the next video. Hey guys, So that is the final edit, the final cut. All the cups on the floor. That's it, the edit room, the cutting room as they call it, right? So I hope you enjoyed that. That is how you do the export. You can use different settings too, but YouTube candidate UP is normally pretty alright with that. As long as it's hi-res it obviously we're using a higher camera, 21 64 K. Then you just set it to 21 64 K and export it to export. When you're filming in high res, maximum harbors. It's good to export like that because you can always, I guess, when you're filming higher, you can always bring it down, but you can't raise up by bringing it down. You won't lose the detail. So that's the exporting. I hope you found that off some use as well. It's very simple. The render settings in Premier, Everything's there on the Dropbox. What format you want, you want it in Vimeo, YouTube have you can customize it. However you want to do it. You can match your footage settings. There's so many things you can do in there. But for now, ten ADP, as you're beginning using YouTube, YouTube channel or making content, can AEP is fine for that. So okay guys, I'll see you in the next video. 16. Final Thoughts: Hey guys, So that is my workflow and for my phone or thoughts, All I can say is Have fun editing. Keep learning. There's a lot of advanced people out there that I'm learning from two, but over the years, I guess in a way I've had to kind of unfair advantage because having working in the video game industry and animation industry and a little bit of film, you have to kinda pick up these other softwares pretty quickly. So I had to pick up all of these softwares pretty quickly. So I've had this kind of unclear. It's only because I've been doing it way before. Someone who's starting off as a beginner, I would have loved to have had something like this, Of course like this to get me started because I think it would have given me a head start. So don't feel intimidated. In fact, still excited that you're starting this new project, you're starting this new course or have you, anyone's out there that really like go for it. If you're starting a YouTube channel, go for it as long as you document your work. Don't worry about what people might think. It doesn't matter. Because when you're first starting a YouTube channel, no one's going to see your videos and even just starting off getting the videos out, content out. So just find a niche that you like, whatever it is. Make it a niche that you know, that you'll be consistent with, that. You'll put videos or every month as well. And just practice. Just keep putting videos out. The first few videos we'll be, won't be as good. But then you learn, That's how you learn. So this is a workflow that on this course that I've developed over the last few years. And it seems to be working quickly for me because I've had experienced before as well. So I can edit pretty quickly because you want to make your work more efficient as well. So you can do all this stuff. Because I work full-time as a fully animated in the video games industry. And I'm trying to do my YouTube channel. So I will need to make everything efficient and quick as I film in the evenings and that I'm editing. And then I'm putting a video out, one or two videos a week I tried to do. So. My final thoughts would be half pound on the journey. Enjoy, enjoy the journey. Get to destination, then start the journey. Get a destination. People says Jenny, bus destination to. Then you keep improving that and keep moving forward. Anything else I can say to you as well? I'm always here, the community is always here. You can find me on YouTube as well as Skillshare on YouTube, the YouTube fitness animator. Because I'm into my fitness as well. I've been doing a transformation which you can check out on my YouTube channel. But apart from that, I'll be discourse doesn't end here. I'm in the discussions. Comment, I will comment back. I will give feedback. Or maybe I can also learn about some of the tips that you guys have discovered that I haven't been using. So we can all help each other out as a community, which is what it's all about noon. So I wish you all the best. Enjoy the journey and the destination, and I will be around. Keep in touch. And for now, well, I guess check me out on my YouTube channel or here. In the meantime, happy editing and happy everything. And bye-bye for now, and I'll see you later.
