Hello, I'm Adam Chraibi professional graphic designer and video editor based in Casablanca, Morocco with more than 5 years experience in freelance work.

I went to art school when I was a 15 years old where I studied the basics of drawing, shadows and light (Mangas style) and after that I went to law school where I got my bachelors degree in private Law.

But my love and passion for art and animation was bigger than the love for law, I wasn't feeling conformable studying it but it was too late I couldn't just drop off I told myself at least get the degree and then do something else.

So I switched my career into doing what I love and passionate about which is all the digital art stuff. That when I worked 2 years as social media manager and designer for an airline compan... See full profile

1. Course Introduction: Coming up with ideas to make surrealist digital arts in Photoshop and can be quite challenging if you don't know the techniques behind this and this class, I M to simplify the creativity process, which also means that I am to unblock your creativity block. Because I know that this is the hardest thing of image compositing is that's a lot of artists run out of ideas, especially beginners. So we will start by studying different techniques used by famous artists to make sure we'll arts. This will open your eyes further to understand what's going on behind the scene of some of the famous defense. Then I will give you three tips I use to personally never run out of ideas. I'll show you then how to look for images on the internet and best practices. And finally, we will dive into Photoshop to create this beautiful imaginary composition. Final challenge for this class that will be for you to recreate this composition using the techniques that you're going to learn in this class. So I'm going to be using Photoshop CC 21. Buts any version of Photoshop CC is going to be fine for this class. Ok guys, so that was pretty much all for the introduction and see you inside the course. 2. Surrealist techniques Used by famous artists: So here are some techniques used by famous artists to give their work and irrational or dreamlike quality. And so bigger, that's anything you need to study the Masters. So let's explore how Salvador Dali used these techniques and his work. Dislocation places, items where they don't usually belong, like this, cabinets on a beach. Juxtaposition, put things together that normally don't go together. Limitation creates the appearance of suspended animation. Transformation shows something in the process of change like child become an adolescent. So adults. Dolly also uses here or double images to creates puzzle. You can see here the phase, but there is also mountains are women and child. Transparency as to look through objects that are usually solid or opaque, scale changes the way we look to an object's normal size. Another technique found in this Surrealist pentane as symbol is like dephase as a symbol for Dolly, the spider as a French symbol of hope. The cannon as a symbol of war. Double images creates an illusion of two distinct images that can be seen and the same configuration perhaps add inhibin, meaning. This Pantene, for example, contains double images like the Venus of Milo and the shadow casted on her body as a Spanish Bull Fighter. If you cannot see the Spanish bullfights or just keep looking instead in the shadows until you can start seeing in the nose and haven't everything. So these are pretty much all the techniques used to create this beautiful Arts. Now you can use one technique or you can use couple of them at the same time. Now, I want to show you a couple of my work at nothing special compared to what we just seen. But it's still my humble work and I use it to publish my arts and society sex, if I want to sell some posters and whatnot. Okay guys, so hopefully you enjoyed it and see you on the next lecture. 3. Never run out of creative Ideas: So when it comes to making arcing Photoshop, but the most as good question on the internet, it's among beginners artist as, how do you get rid of creativity block? In this lecture, I want to share with you a couple of the techniques that I use to basically never run out of ideas. So the first technique would be combining two objects or God, or it could be anything. I mean, just right now, if I take this council a picture of myself, I can put both in Photoshop, remove my head, replaces with a pencil, and I can call myself a designer, just an example. So you can combine two living objects together, like a woman and a fish. We have a mermaid. Or you could combine two landscapes together to create the surreal environments. Or you could combine a landscape with a living creature like the elephants in one piece, you know, where we have the elephants and the island on top of him. So yes, this is the power of combining two objects together. Nieto technique that you can use or prompt as to start with a real object. So surrealism is based on realism. And as you can see right here in this example, I started with a little girl. I added in some stuff. We have hones, rings and these spheres. And the final one and the one that I think the most exciting one, and it's called weird words. So basically what you do is you open a book and magazine and newspaper. And then you choose 15 words. And then from those 15 words, you can choose four or five words and see whatever you come up where you can recreated in Photoshop using enriched compiles this n. So basically these are the techniques that I use. Of course there are more techniques but I don't use them, so no need to mention them. But just in case you want to know, there was a nice technique that's I myself on a learn and it's called distortion. So basically what you do here is that you use an anamorphic grid and then you can redraw a person. But it's really this sorted luck. It can have the bigger had some weird stuff going on. So yeah, it's those old, Pretty much the techniques or the prompts to never run out of creative ideas and see you on the next lecture. 4. Finding the right images on the internet: When it comes to finding the rights pictures to work within Photoshop, there are only few websites, so that's our command. So first thing we have pixels, very known website. We have our splash, Shutterstock, um, countries. Now here's the thing guys. You need to find high-quality images, usable images, okay? Because low quality images are not that great to work with, you gonna suffer. Now Shutterstock as the cheapest option among premium stock photos websites. Now you can see right here myself, I have a plan and I usually pay around $29 a month and I get ten free pictures each month. Okay. I'm not sponsored by these guys or anything. They probably don't even know that I exist. I'm just saying that this is the best, cheaper premium option. And the thing is you can find everything you're looking for here, okay? And high quality. And then finally, Pinterests know Pinterest has a lot of photos. We can also find anything you're looking for here. But the thing is, it's only in low resolution. Now here's the thing. You can increase the pixels of a photo in Photoshop. But this option should be your last resource because I'm going to give you good results, but not as good as when you have a really not fake high-quality image. If I come over here to Photoshop, you can see that I have this image right here. I'm just gonna go ahead and duplicate rubric ego. And now if I go to image, image size, you can see that the resolution is quite low. Now this is not good to friends and for printing you should at least have 300. Now here's the thing. If you go to Edit Preferences, technology previews, if you're on a Mac, it's going to be Photoshopped and preferences. You can see right here I have enabled preserve details 2, upscale, OK, so make sure you have distinct checked. And now if I go back to image, image size, I can increase the resolution up to 300. Okay, and make sure you play with the noise as well because it gives another is right here. And it's going to look at besides pixelized. But if you increase, the noise is becomes a bit cleaner. You see. And you want to select this wine, preserve details 2-points. Oh, not this one. And nots automatic. Okay. Preserve details through points out. Okay. Here we have its, now it looks, it looks a bit better. So this is a good way to sort of Feedly increase the resolution of a picture. But again, you should not count 100% on this method. 5. Color Range Selection: Okay, so once you open Photoshop guys, I want you to come over here and click on open. And I want you to select three pictures. B1 would the cow, the one with the bathtub and the wings. So hold Control or Command and your keyboard and then just selects them. Pictures, click open. So now I'm just gonna go fullscreen. And then if I come over here to window workspace, you can see that I'm working under photography. So now it's time to make some selections, okay? And to make selections in Photoshop, you have multiple tools. And if you ask me what tool is best, the answer is, it's depends on a picture. Ok. So if we have something like this, when there was clear contrast between the background and the foreground, like black and whites, I would use the color range selection or the subject selection. And if I have a complicated selection, then I will use the pen tool and the Vector Mask. So let's start first with the wings, click on the background and then just control command J to duplicate the background and make sure you hide the background and just keep layer one. I'm gonna go ahead and name it ranks. So if I go to select, with my wink Slayer selects it. We have two options here, okay, we have subjects and color range. I would highly advise to use color range in this case because of the fetters. Because if I choose subjects, you're gonna make a nice selection. But if I click on Mask and enter the mask mixture, we have color red here, opacity 100%. You can see that we have some black dye was selected as well. And we need to clear this with the brush. And I'm gonna take a lot of time. So to avoid this, I'm gonna go ahead and come back, hold shift and click on a mask to delete it. And then click and drag the mask to the trashcan. Don't apply mask before removing, just deletes. And now if I click on Select Color range, right here, I'm going to choose highlights. And then I can make sure I have just the wings selected and nothing else. Okay, you can play with the range and the fuzziness. Okay. Now if I muskets enter the mask, you can see that we have a clear selection. Okay? I can maybe just adjust a little bit of the radius and just two pixels. And then just add some contrast. Okay? And now I have a nice selection that we can use for later. 6. Selection using Vector Mask: If I go now to the bath tub right here, this one is a bit challenging, Okay, so for me personally in this case, I'm going to choose the pen tool and then apply the Vector Mask. But let me show you other tools that you can use and why I choose a Vector Mask. So if I come over here to the Quick Selection Tool and click increases a little bit by clicking on right bracket on my keyboard. I can go ahead and just drag, hold and drag without release in and make a selection. But then of course, the selection is not perfect and I have to adjusted manually like this. So I'm clicking Alton option and just trying to find the edges. Ok, this is one. Let me de-selected. Or I can grab the object selection tool and then just draw a big rectangle on my objects. Just like this. But here as well, you can see that the selection is not perfect and we're going to have to fix sits under the mask. This is why I love to use the Panzer or so when I use the pen tool and then apply the Vector Mask, I have clean edge selection. Okay, and I could of course, adjusted further using the direct selection tool. For me, I just prefer this way. Automatic selections are good, but the technology is not there yet. It still needs some improvements. Sometimes it's orbs grades, but with some photos, if not gonna work race. And I would rather use independent school than spending time, you know, adjusting stuff in a mask and with the brush and laughing. So what I'm gonna do is click p to select the pencil. Duplicates the background, hide the background. I'm going to rename this bath tub. And then just star with the selection. So click here. We zoom in. We start from here. And then you click again and drag. Okay. Once you drag, you can hold Alt eruption and reduce this handle. So you can make another clean selection. Because if I keep the handle like this, I will have problems controlling the path. Okay, economic it lean selection. So just hold Alton option and then just reduce the handle. And then keep making your selections. Click, shrug. Reduced handle, so many issue you need to do it. All control. Enter pointers you want. You can also just the same thing here. Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead and speed up the selection. So it just, it's simple guys. Okay, you just click and then click again. And again. You can drag up or down to make a nice selection. Okay, or extent. And then once you do this, just click Alton option and reduce handle and then you just keep going. I'm going to speed things up because there is no points. Keep in you with me here. And then we'll meet again when I finish. Okay, guys, so now we've pretty much finished. And as you can see, that it took me some time at not easy, it takes some practice. But the thing is who said that's making art was easy. Okay, if you wanna make something perfect and Fiona Mecca, perfect selection. And this is the way to do it with a pencil. And you also noticed that sometimes I really go ahead and assume n. Okay. That's why it's important to have high-quality premium pictures, guys. Now once I have the pencil traced on a bathtub, I can go ahead, hold control, okay. Or command and then click on unmask tool. And you can see this gray mask and you can see that Sabra here. That means this is a vector selection. Okay? Now it's time to look for some imperfections that we can fix. Like here, for example. Okay, we can fix this in right here. If I hold this handle, I can drag it a little bit here. And this 12 maybe I could trigger a here. But you can see we did eats from here. So what I can do, for example is add an anchor point here. Okay, and then let's see again, if I drag this here, I have a good selection. Same thing here. I mean selects the direct selection tool to whites one, the black one. And then let's see how can we fix this from here and just click on a path and track. Click here on the anchor points and track here and zoom in. Now you may say I'm bits of perfectionist. I really pay attention to the small details. Ok, here I can add the name coupons using the pen tool is like this and go back to the direct selection tool and then just drag it a little bit here. Ok guys, so you get the idea. Same thing here are the end points. Click a for the direct selection tool. Okay, now, if I click away, you can see the perfect selection we have made. Okay, this is perfect. Okay, this is a clean and even look at the edges. It looks so cleanly. Cuts. Okay, clean and clear. So once we're happy with the selections that we've made, you can convert to smart objects, the wings and the bathtub. So we can move them to a new window. 7. Quick and easy color match in Photoshop: Okay guys, so you can see right here that I went ahead and trace it. The ball would depend tool and applied the same Victor mask as we did earlier. And now this is a hard selection. If you want an easy picture, you can come over here to File Open and selects the second picture I gave you, this one. Okay, this one is much easier to select. If I duplicates the image. You can come over here to window, look for properties, and then remove background. Okay, we will do a nice job. But then you have to enter the mask and refine it a little bit. Using the brush tool and a smooth edge selection or Refine Edge Selection. Okay guys. Just like this, council this, I'm not going to leave it. Close this. And now it's time to match colors. So I'm gonna show you two techniques. One is automatic and the other one is man wall or semi manifold. Now both techniques are quite easy to use and quick. So let's start with the automatic first. I'm gonna come over here to the documents, would winks, right-click duplicates and put its what the documents with the bowl. Okay. Now I am going to hide the layer where the Vector Mask and just keep the layer with the background locked. Selects the winks, Control Command C, and resize this like this. And then I will do the same thing for the bathtub. Duplicates and truth documents with the ball. Okay. There we go and just highlights. Oops, hide the baths or period. Control command J two duplicates the wings layer or because I want to show you both techniques and hide the copy and keep the original. So with the wings layer or selects it to automatically match the wings, the entire scene. You can click on image and then auto color. You can see the color change. Again, image auto contrast and image auto tone. And here we have, it's okay, just like this guy's quickly. And now if I want to do it's a bits manually. You can select the layer again, the wings layer Museum in new bits. So click here, look for curves. And then make sure that you don't have the Mask thumbnail select. So do you want to select the curve salmonella. Okay. Click on clip because you want to clip it to doings copy. Now hold Alt or option and click on overall. Make sure you select fine dark and light colors. And now click on shadows. And make sure you select or resample the darkest area of the picture like this, okay? And go to Highlights. Under the same thing. Find the brightest area on a picture. Could be the cloud and selects it. Alright, and you can see the change. Click OK. And now if you're not happy with the colors, you can always come over here to highlights and then adjust the color manually. Maybe you wanted the wings to be whiter. Ok, click OK, and then OK. Save the new targets close as defaults, no. And of course we can always adjust the curve as you wish. Select this for me. This looks fine. And Van, once I finish, I'll go ahead. Right-click convert to smarts objects. So you're probably asking me why do I keep converting to Smart Objects? And the reason why I always converts layers to smart objects when I'll make an adjustment as that because let's say I want to go back and make some adjustments. I can just double-click on the thumbnail and it will open what I was working with the first time. And maybe if I want to go further to the mask selection, I can double-click again. And now I have to mask selection that I can adjust. And since we hear what I wanted to do is just deletes one side of the wings and keep just one. So I can click on b for the brush, make sure here as black. And then just deletes the parts that I'm not going to need just like this. Okay, if I add this solid color to see my selection. So we did a clean selection. And we go the leads this now I can save close this. Close this. Yes. And here we go. Okay guys. So this is the manual way. And this is the automatic way. So which one you like? It's all up to you guys. I'm gonna keep this one. I like a better. Now, I'll do the same thing for the bath SOP. Curves. Select here. Flip it's the bathtub hold, alt option and dark lights colors. Click on the shadows. Here. Look on the highlights, and here, I'll carry. Save me, see if I can do some more adjustments with the curves. Convert a smart objects. And here we have as guys. And of course there are some advanced color matching techniques, but there is no need to spend 20 minutes matching colors for while we doing right here, because the end goal is to create a beautiful surrealistic composition and nots matching colors for a commercial purpose or something like this. 8. Putting everything together: Now that we have everything ready, it's time to combine everything together. So I'm just going to hide the background and make this one visible with the selection. Deletes the layers that we're not going to be needing. I believe the background here just in case. And so this one converter smarts objects. I'm going to quickly renamed the layers. So this one is bathtub. S1. Oh come on. This one is winks. And this one is bull. Here we go. Okay, so the next thing is grabbed bilayer edit, transform, lip horizontal. Okay, just because I want the ball to be looking this way. Control command. And then I'm just going to resize the bowl a little bits. And using some logic, it's obvious that the bowl is going to be way bigger than the bathtub. Here we go. I'm going to click on a bilayer and put it on top of the baths up. Maybe I can increase the size of the UI. And I'm just adjusting accordingly here. As I think it's gonna make sense. Okay? Although it doesn't have to make sense guys. Now with the bilayer selected, I'm gonna reduce the opacity. So I can make my selection and make it look like the Boulez inside the bathtub. Click on the pencil. And then click here. Then here. Then here. I'm just trying to select. It. Goes is better here. Okay? And then select all of this. Don't select itself because the tail will stay outside. It's only natural. Right-click while sale, selecting the pen tool and then make selection. Selects inverse, the mask. And here we have, now the ball is inside the buffs. Up. Here we go. Clean selection guys. Okay, just like this. And I'll do the same thing with the winks. Grabbed doing Control Command T, rotated. So you see when selecting the wing, although we deleted the other one, the bounding box still shows that we have two wings. So maybe to remove this, what I can do is right-click here. If you are 100% sure that you're not going to be going back to make any adjustments to the wink. You can rasterize layer and then right-click again and convert a Smart Objects. And now if I click document saying I don't have that problem. So why did I reconverted Smart Objects after rests rising the layer? So first thing first, we did the rasterized layers so we can get rid of the big bounding box. And then when we convert it to smart objects, because we are going to be transforming the thing up and down and rotating it. And when the layer is smart objects, you don't risk to lose resolution or anything like this. That's why it's important to keep your photos, smarts, objects if you are going to resize them. Okay enough, Tolkien, let's go ahead and resize. This thing. Should be like this. Again, put doings on top of the bowl. This then I want to convert it to smarts objects. But first I want to check the edges are clean. It looks clean enough. I'm not going to be making any more adjustments. So please smarts objects already gone. Now the wings are here and depends on you how much you want to make the wings bigger. Okay, do you want to really huge swings like this? For small wind like this, you know, logically it to bool. So it should have big wings to carry it. But still you can even have it. Small wings and then maybe there were those waves will just carry. It's okay. It's not about the size guys at about how he uses a legged though. There was a dirty joke. Sorry about this. Anyway, it not about the size, it's about the strength. So I'm going to leave it like this. Go here. It looks good luck with this. So I'm just positioning this accordingly with C. If I make it double, it looks better on like this to winks. Let's see red one. So I think I'm gonna keep one rank. It's better. And people will just guess that the R1 goes on the other side and at the same size as this one and you cannot see it due to the angle of everything. Okay. So winks copy, deletes. Yes. And now I'm gonna add the mask to the wings and then brush hold my pen tool. I'm talking about the waxen tablets pan. Select the mask here. Make sure this is black. And want to soft brush opacity, maybe 50%. Okay, and then just try to blend everything. Tier, tried to blend the edges with the cow to make it look a bit like this. We increase. Oops. Okay guys, so there was a lot of forgiveness with this because what we create and doesn't exist in real life. So there is no reference. People cannot tell you, oh, should not look like this, it should look like this. You know, you can not have that kind of top because this ten doesn't really exist. We're just imagining stuff here. I'm just fixing stuff. Maybe. I'm gonna keep it like this. Okay, this looks good. This looks good. And once you're happy with everything, you can go ahead and convert all of them to smarts objects, okay? So we can have less layers. One more thing I wanna do before converting is add a solid background just to check what's going on. Just like this. Okay, this looks good. Now select the wing boomed buffs up and converts to smart objects. And I will stop here for this lecture and we'll continue on the next one. 9. Adding the background: So by now, you should have saved your documents at least once. I forgot to tell you earlier, but I was saving my files when I was in I record in any way it's a good habits when working on Photoshop or any other software that you save your file each time you make an adjustment. Now I'm gonna go to File New. And now dependent on where you want to put your arts, you're gonna choose a dimensions accordingly. Now as shown up, put it on a poster, you enter the values for a poster on a tee shirts. You know what to do? Okay? In this case, I want to put it on Instagram. So I'm going to enter the values for Instagram, must switch to pixels and then choose 1800 or 100. So 100 by 1000 creates. Okay guys. So now I'm going to grab this, hold and drag it to the new document that we just created, Control Command T. And then just resize the whole thing. Here we go. A little bit bigger. All right, this is fine. Now, file placing embedded the newspaper background, but it's under the bowl. Tolkien and see, and then just, you know, resize it. Select us. Hide the background. And I won't than I like to do is that's I liked to match the background color with the four were on little bits. So click here, solid color. Sample the color from the bowl. Okay, clip it to the newspapers. And then you can choose a blend mode. I think multiplies good to this one and reduce the opacity a little bits. Okay? You can even add some level. So this, let's see if I bring the lights up a little bit like this. It looks good. See here the midside. Okay, so the thing is I want to have enough contrast between the foreground and the background. Okay? Glimpses here. And the last thing I wanna do before adding shadows is apply a filter to the entire thing. Converts smart objects, then selects the layer would filter stylized oil paints. Okay. And I want to just add a little bit of this filter to the cow. Not too much bristle details, just a little bit here. I think this is fine. I'm just keeping an eye on the skin. Ok. I think that's enough. For the background. There was no need. But still if you want to apply the filter and let's see what I will get. And there was lot of filter for the background just reduces little bit sucrose, evolutionary bristle certain reduced to 0. Ok. No, I think for the background we just keep it as it was. Because if I had to filter, we won't be able to see them, words or characters. Okay guys, so it's on the next lecture, we're going to be adding shadows. 10. Adding Shadows: Now it is time to add some shadows, okay, to make it's more realistic and to add more depth. So the first thing I'm gonna do is hold control command and click on the thumbnail of this layer. Add a new layer. Click G on my keyboard to selects the Paint Bucket tool. If you can now find it here, we can click on these dots. We go paint bucket tool, and now choose black color. And then just fill the selection like this. Okay? Control come out D to unselect. And now go back to the Move tool. Let me just rename this. Shadows. Call it casts shadow. Can show Comanche. Right-click, perspective. Click here, and then just drag it to the right. Like this. Click OK. Now again, Control Command C, hold shifts and bring it down around here. Okay? And then put it beneath the ball. Reduce the opacity a little bit. Oops, quote shifts and drug more. So you can either reduce the fill the opacity and same thing. Control Command C again, hold Shift and then even drug. It's even more. And I think around the year as fine. Now here's the thing about cast shadows, guys. So if you look at the bowl, you can see that there is some shadows right here. And this is the shadow of the horn, which means that the sun was coming this way from the left top here, hitting the cone. And then casts in the shadow of the corn on the body of the bull. Which also means that the entire selection, well cast shadows on the floor right here like this. You can also use the original image of the ball as a reference. So you can see that the shadow is here since the sun is coming from here, which means we can still adjust our cast shadow. Okay, so I'm gonna go back to my selection documents. He again, maybe bring it a little bit more here now. Okay. And now if I didn't have this shadow over here, I would've placed my casts shadow any direction that I want. But since we have this, we need to pay attention to where we are putting our cast shadow. Once you happy with everything, I can go back to the selection control command and click again, selects the brush tool. The new layer. Make sure you have Brar selected 100% soft brush and black on the foreground. And then maybe I can add some shading, core ambience, conclusion shadows, whatever you wanna call them. Just add more depth to the buffs up. So I'm just trying to imagine the reflection of the shadows of the bull on a bathtub. Says the sun is coming from the top left. And we go maybe add some more hair. Okay, and now I can select a blend modes and I think soft lights is gonna do the job just fine. And here we have it. I think it looks good. 11. Final Touches: So at this stage, we are done. And what I usually do after I think I'm done, I just keep Meyer and my composition and see if I can add something crazy. Like maybe change the colors. I was thinking about adding a heads here. You know, you can do all sorts of things. What I usually do is that I like to add shapes to my composition. So for example, I was thinking about adeno circle right here on top of the eye. So click you on a keyboard to select the ellipse tool, ellipsis Tool, hold shafts and drag. And you can keep it like this with the fill color. You see. And you can maybe change the color or you can just leave the stroke so no film. Add little bit of stroke weights and change it to yellow. Then just position as accordingly radii, like this. Okay? You can also try black and whites. Do you have a lot of presets here? Try all of them and see which one you like more. Maybe this one red filter is better. And yes guys dug pretty much it's, so I just wanted to show you another variation that I did. And that I think it looks close. Well, you see this one is a bit difference. We keep in this shower thing. Okay. We're not adding any shadows in here. Keeping or things like this. Maybe just maybe I can do a nice thing here. Like this, probably fill it with black. Reduce the opacity. So it looks, it looks good. And then maybe add a circle here. And another one here. Hold Alton drag to duplicate. Ok guys, so that was pretty much it's, and on the next lecture I'm going to show you how you can save for brains if you want to print this for a poster or something. 12. Save Print Ready file: Now finally, if you're going to print this, you need to save its brains, Revie, okay? And your best option here is to save it as tiff. Why? Because tiff uses lossless compression where no data is lost when the file is saved. But again, depending on the printer, some printers ask for PSD files, some asked for PDFs on some as 40-50. So to save it as tiff, you come over here, it's a File, Save As save on your computer. And right here where it says save as type. You click and you choose safe from the drop-down menu. I had already save a file here, so I deleted it. Now save. You will have this window pop up and right here, image compression, you choose none. And you can leave everything else as it is. Okay? And here you have it. 13. Creating dimensions the alternative version: And this lecture I'm going to show you how we can make the wall with the newspaper in case you decide to creates the second variation of this beautiful ours. So control command J again to duplicate the background, selects the lasso tool. So click L to select the Lasso tool. And now I'm gonna go ahead and draw like a rough selection what the lasso tool on my bathtub. We go and it's contents were a fail. And you can see that it did an okay job. So the thing is you see yellow here because we have the yellow showered sub selects it also in the green stuff. So what we need here is that we need to remove this so we can get read of the yellow thing here. So I'm just reducing the size of my brush. And then I'm going to go ahead and unselect this time from here. Let's see now. All right, you can see it's gone. Now you can see that this is a clean selection. There is no need to change the color adaptation for this one. I'm just selects in everything in the background to see if I can make testing or any better. So the green stuff is sampling pixel from the wall and the ground to fill its inside this selection, okay? That's why you need to make sure that there is nothing else beside dose. Selects it. Alright, that looks cool enough. I'm gonna go ahead and click apply. Okay. Control Command D to undo the selection. Now I'm gonna go ahead and select slay number one and do the same thing for the Golden very expensive tower. So you go to the lecture, don't select this. And here we have same thing, edits, constants where Phil looks perfect. And I notice here that even though you see the bats up and this preview window, it doesn't exist actually here. You can see only the negative space of the bathtub on the green selection. Apply, okay, Control Command D to undo. And finally, we can group them all and then just convert to smarts objects. We can see the power of smarts objects. Now, the next thing you can do is bring your selections here. Command C, and bring the shower tub here as well, please. It's accordingly. Put it behind angel bowl. Okay, and then you can add your shadows and everything. Now go to File. Place Nimbit it. So I got the newspaper, just the size. So behind layer copy you on the mask. Select the brush, make it as big as you need. And then just paints over what black guys. Here we have. Here we have the shadows here. Go. Control Command D, brush, make a small select the mass gambling, just smooth, smoothing DHS, just sublime DHS like this. Okay, here we have a cool congratulations guys, you made us. So let's see how much we did use of the techniques we talked about earlier. We used a juxtaposition. A bull and a wanes and a bathtub don't usually go together. We used a dislocation, which we put a bomb inside a bathtub, inside a Gothic slash vantage bathroom. We used wings as symbol, and we use k l. We made the newspaper bigger than it should be. All right. So hopefully you learned a lot and hopefully you won't have problems coming up with creative ideas to make beautiful digital, surrealistic composition or arts and fought shop. 14. Finally done congratulations : So that says guys, we're pretty much done. So that was everything that you need to know to make beautiful surreal ours. Now, using the techniques that I share with you here, you can make some serious surrealist arts and Photoshop. Ok. So now what I want you to do is to create something of your own and then go ahead and upload it. So I can see your level of creativity. Of course, using the prompts that I gave you to come up with creative ideas. And if you think it's hard, even after taking this class, that's mean you are still a beginner. You need to work your way slowly. Okay? We do the class again. Try hard, keep thinking, keep making mistakes until you feel comfortable using those techniques and creates beautiful image compositing and Photoshop. So thank you so much guys for watching this class and see you on the next one.
