  1. Research and sketching

    Spend some time looking for fonts that could work well for your project. Research other companies that are using multiple logos really well. Spend time researching other designers that you admire.

    Compile styles that could lend a hand to your design.

    Play with mixing fonts, using type around shapes, and applying some of what you have seen to your own idea. Enjoy this process.

    Secondly, share with us what you have sketched. Upload your sketches to you project page and begin getting feedback. (Don’t be scared to share your sketches. Mine are always rough and crude.)

Utilizing Illustrator Effects

  1. Bring your sketches into Illustrator

    Get your free version of Adobe Illustrator here.

    If you need the structure of your sketch, you should scan it in now. Place it in Illustrator and start creating your sketch in digital form.

    Othewise use the type tool to layout a base typeface. Play around with the letter effects until they resemble your sketch.

    Purchase or download your font and get to work with using what you’ve learned in the above videos.
