1. Bio & Course Introduction: Hi, I'm Stewart's Raisi strategy consultant for large organizations and executive coach. I live a fulfilled, empowered and purposeful life. You can, too, and that's why I'm here. I'm here to support you, to become the cause of your life. I have an MBA executive coaching certification, and Hagman enters you leadership. Master practitioner. I've worked, travelled and lived all over the world. My corporate experience includes helping to build a $1 billion organization and leading internal consulting teams working on C suite strategic projects. Now, I primarily partner with business professionals on leadership, professional development and career transitions. Along the way, we work to reduce stress, increase fulfillment, happiness and well being. I'm not here to fix the cog in the wheel. I'm here to provide long term impact on an individual level. Last but not least, I have a rescue dog named Dale. He's £100 of love and occasionally makes appearances on video. I have no doubt you'll find great value in this course, so let's jump into the course topics 2. Course Outline: now, let's quickly discuss what will cover during this course. First, I'll introduce the fear of failure as a process that we learn to interrupt and transform. After that, we'll build awareness on how the fear of failure shows up in your life. Then we'll work on a few mindset exercises where you learn to interrupt your fear of failure process. Once we complete those exercises, we'll take some positive action. Next, we'll write your future success story and last I'll provide a couple resource is for you to consider. 3. How to Apply This Course: as an executive coach, an energy leadership master practitioner. I created this course to help others transform their fear of failure. During this course, I'll share with you what I've learned about the filters that drive your fear of failure. In the course, Workbook will apply what we've learned to develop a goal and become aware of how the fear of failure affects your life, entrepreneurial and leadership abilities. You'll be mindful of what mask your fear is wearing, how it shows up in your life and how it creates an energy block. You'll utilize the mindset exercises in this course to remove that energy block. Once we remove the energy block, you're going to stop, take a moment and breathe. Then we'll utilize the positive action exercises to start conquering your goal. 4. Failure as Guideposts: When you open yourself up to failing, you're not alone. In fact, you're in great company. Entrepreneurs, inventors and business leaders fail all the time. Failing is how they learn, practice and improve. The only way to truly fail is to quit or not even try. Thomas Edison didn't become a victim of failure. He did not quit. Instead, he reframed his failures and shifted from a negative to a positive mindset. As an inventor, Edison made 1000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the lightbulb. When a reporter asked, How did it feel to fail 1000 times, Edison replied, I didn't fail 1000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1000 steps. Do not give up. Embrace those 1000 steps. Take a page out of the book. The Lean Startup by Erik Reece. Preserve what you've learned pivot away from mistakes. What you learn, be the guide post that orient you towards success 5. My Personal Struggle with the Fear of Failure: For two years, I had everything I needed to do video marketing for my business. I had the tools, the platform, the expertise. Still, I always found a logical reason not to act. I needed a better mike or lens. My tripod wasn't stable enough. I was too busy, too tired. It wasn't until a fantastic coaching session that I uncovered my gremlin. I was afraid to fail. At the core of that coaching session was one realization. If you're not failing, you're not doing anything to succeed. Let that sink in a little noticed the word failing. It has an I N G at the end, which means a continuous action. It means we will fail many times. By this logic, failing isn't something instantaneous, like falling off a cliff. It's the longer process of persevering as you climate. That coaching session changed my life. I began assessing and learning more about my fear of failure and how the fear of failure was an energy block holding me back from success from that day forward. Instead of letting my fear stop me, I used it as motivational fuel for my fire. I have no doubt you'll find tremendous value in this course. I am excited to hear about the transformation you undergo 6. How Personal Filters Impact our Fear of Failure: how we perceive and what we think about our circumstances or a specific situation impacts how we show up in ordinary life and under stress. Everyone used the world through personalized filters based on our experiences, values, assumptions, interpretations and are limiting beliefs. Our filters, circumstances and stress contributor energy blocks How you perceive failure is a filter. How we react well, that pins, Let's keep going. 7. The Fear of Failure Process: the fear of failure is a mental process that we understand we're presented with this stimulus, let's say a new challenge. This new challenge sets off a chain of events. We perceive this challenge during Filter our inner critic, which generates thoughts. The story we tell ourselves, which causes an emotion, dear. Our fear of failure leads to an energy block. Let me give you an example. Here's Jane. Jane's a successful middle manager rapidly moving up the corporate ladder. She's offered a promotion to a regional director role. Jane is so excited that she calls all of her friends and family. But then suddenly, her whole world freezes her excitement for the promotion drops. Jane starts rationalizing why she shouldn't take the job. She really likes her team and doesn't want to leave them. She's only been a middle manager for a year and could use MAWR experience. He's only managed a team of five people. It doesn't know how to lead a region and so on. Jane is experiencing an energy block. Her inner critic has kicked in. She's experiencing the fear of failure. Or, put another way, James. Emotional reaction is based on this story. She's telling herself a story that's not true. A story of potential failure that hasn't even happened. She is rationalizing her fear and making up logical reasons to decline the promotion. Your fear of failure is fake news. We have many personal filters that can lead to positive energy or energetic stress reactions. Any of our filters can unmask our fear of failure. The fear of failure is our inner critic Filter. Our inner critic is the most powerful filter weekend experience. It is the deepest, darkest, most secret and crippling little gremlin that tells us we are not good in us. Think back to the introductory of story. When I first launched my company, I knew I needed to start video marketing. I had all of the equipment and software to begin for two freaking years. I was afraid of what others may think of me on video. My inner critic, the fear of failure not being good enough on camera continued to make up a story. I need better equipment that stopped me from doing what I needed to do to grow my business . My inner critic triggered my fear of failure. Jane's inner critic is telling her that she's not good enough for the promotion. Don't let your inner critic create Cata Bolic energy and narrow your focus. Her possible solutions in positive outcomes. Remember, it's not what or who you are that holds you back. It's what or who you think you're not. 8. Exercise 1: Setting a Goal for this Course: refer to exercise one in your workbook. I'd like you to write down one goal that you would like to accomplish, but I have yet to make significant progress towards if you could release all of your fear of failure. When would you accomplish this goal? And if you need help figuring out a goal, refer to the bonus video on the wheel of Life and the wheel of life within your manual. 9. The Fear of Failure Process Summary: Let's do a quick review of what we've learned so far. One failing is how we learn practice and improve to. The only way to truly fail is to quit or not even try. Three. Failure is a guide post or step on your way to success. Four. Everyone used the world to personalized filters based on our experiences, values, assumptions, interpretations and are limiting police fine. The fear of failure is caused by our most powerful filter, our inner critic. Six. It's not what or who you are that holds you back. It's what or who you think you're not. 10. Leadership Energy: as an executive coach. The fear of failure is one of the most significant energy blocks my clients struggle to overcome. The fear of failure shows up in our lives and at work wearing different mess. The fear of failure operates on a subconscious level. As leaders and entrepreneurs, we need to elevate our understanding of our fear of failure to bring it to the conscious level of self awareness. As we increase our self awareness, we start to recognize the mask, our fear failures. Wearing many times, we don't recognize that this fear is what's holding us back. Bruce D. Schneider tells us that there are two types of leadership energy. Cada bolic in anabolic. Here is Cata Bolic Energy. It's destructive to our path to success. Fear releases cortisol and adrenaline, which eat away at ourselves. We let our emotions, thoughts, beliefs and perceptions hold us back. Cata Bolic. Energy is destructive and draining. I'm not good enough to overcome this problem. It's stressful and distracting. We narrow our focus and create tunnel vision. Our number of solutions and innovative ideas become limited. When we learn to recognize and transform our fear failure, we begin to access anabolic energy. Anabolic energy is growth oriented. This challenge presents a perfect opportunity for us to come together. Anabolic energy helps us and others achieve long term positive action and successful results. With anabolic energy, we widen our focus and create a conscious view to form a continuous flow of solutions and innovative ideas. When you learn to recognize your fear of failure, you can begin to transform it into anabolic energy. Then, over the long term, you'll create and attract anabolic energy. Energy attracts like energy. 11. Recognizing the Fear of Failure: you can often recognise your fear of failure through more tangible fears and hesitations. I'll list a few tangible fears, but refer to your exercise manual for a larger list. Here are five fear of failure examples my clients often express. You worry about what others might think of you If you take a specific action, you can't sleep at night because you constantly worry about the financial resource is needed to pursue your dreams. You tell people you don't expect to succeed, trying to lower their expectations prior to any action. You worry that if you fail, you'll lose friends, family and colleagues. You procrastinate, lacking the motivation and enthusiasm to push forward. And you know what? I'll go ahead and list the sixth you suffer Herman Imposter syndrome. You're afraid that people are gonna find out? Yeah, you don't know what you're doing. It doesn't matter which mask your fear is. Wearing the root cause is the fear of failure 12. Control Your Gremlin: The truth is, we all live with fear every day. I'm not saying this to scare you. Instead, I'm telling you this because fear is a roadblock that every leader in entrepreneur must learn to recognize and developed tools to transform into positive energy. Remember, from the beginning of this course, when you fail, you're in good company. The fear of failure will cloud your mind, but only if you allow out fear. Failure will stop you from living the life you dreamed about. But on Lee, if you allow it, the fear of failure will stop you from challenging the status quo, looking at the market from a different point of view or trying a new tactic that might lead to 10 times more customers. But on Lee, if you allow it, we've already discussed self awareness is the first and most important step to transforming the fear of failure and do positive energy. We all have This little Gremlin insider had telling us that we should be afraid. If you want to succeed, you must take control of back gremlin. You must differentiate between the healthy fears. I am not safe run from the irrational fears holding this back from success. Your energy blocks failing is one of the greatest arts in the world. One fails towards success. Charles Kettering. After you cultivate self awareness, you can focus on developing mental tools or exercises to overcome your fear. Some of these might take practice, but once you start implementing them, you'll grow as a person, leader or entrepreneur. You'll develop the growth mindset needed to transform your fear of failure into positive energy. 13. Exercise 2: What Does Your Fear of Failure Look Like?: move to exercise to new workbook. Think about the goal you wrote down and exercise one for your goal. What is your fear of failure? Look like? How is the fear of failure impacting the goal you wrote down? How would transforming your fear of failure into positive energy benefit you? This month? I want you to be specific and very descriptive. The more specific, the more descriptive your, the more self aware you'll become. 14. Self Awareness Summary: Let's quickly review what we've learned. One. The fear of failure is a subconscious process. To self awareness is the first step towards transforming your fear of failure into positive energy. Three. The fear of failure shows up wearing many different mess. Four. You can often recognise your fear of failure through mawr, tangible fears and hesitations. Five. He must different J between healthy fears and irrational fears. Holding you back in six. You must developmental tools or exercises to help you overcome your fear failure. 15. Interrupting the FOF Process: when I coached leaders and entrepreneurs that are struggling, they frequently developed an unconscious habit of allowing their fear of failure to narrow their focus, which leads to tunnel vision and creates an energy block towards reaching their full potential. They almost feel powerless. They become a victim of their fear. As a victim, they failed to act or flat out quit. It takes time and hard work to break the cycle of fear. You can't simply read a self help book or watch a course and then be cured of your fear of failure. You have to develop a practice of interrupting the fear of failure process using mindset exercises. Let's take a moment to review. The fear of failure process were presented with a challenge. The challenge sets off a chain of events. We proceed this challenge through a filter. We generate thoughts. The story we tell ourselves, which then causes an emotion, fear our fear. Failure leads to an energy block To transform our fear of failure and deposit of energy. We must first interrupt that process, then substitute negative thoughts and emotions with positive and last replace our unconscious habit of inaction with a conscious habit of action through the new process, we can transform our fear of failure into positive energy. In order to do this, we're going to conduct four mindset exercises and then take three positive actions. 16. Values Alignment: the first mindset exercise is aligning our values. During the coaching session that changed everything for me, my coach asked me to list and reflect upon my values. I listed five of my most important values achievement, creativity, integrity, authenticity in trust. As I reflected on my values, I realized that by succumbing to my fear of failure and not taking action, I wasn't honoring my values. In fact, I was completely compromising my values. I wasn't taking the steps that I needed to succeed, which compromised my value of achievement. I wasn't creating videos which compromised my value of creativity. I wasn't showing my authentic self to my audience. By aligning my values, I transformed my fear. I became energized and excited for taking the next steps. In my business and life, any time you feel the fear of failure creeping into your life and stopping you from acting reflect on your values. My question for you is this. How are you compromising or honoring your values by allowing the fear of failure to impact your life 17. Exercise 3: Values Alignment: take a look at exercise number three and in your workbook. There's also a list of common core values from that list. I want you to write down 5 to 10 of your most important values. Keep your list of values in a handy place. Maybe you haven't written down and on your phone. Once you have that list, I want you to reflect on your values. What do your core values tell you about yourself? How are you honoring your core values by not completing your goal or remaining a victim to the fear of failure? How are you compromising your values by not completing your goal or remaining the victims? The fear of failure? How can you align your values towards accomplishing your goal? And how would you benefit from aligning your values? 18. Practicing Gratitude: mindset. Exercise number two Successful leaders and innovators are grateful for the things that go poorly as they are for the things that go well. They're grateful for success and failure good and bad. They understand that both provide us the data and experience needed to learn and crow. By embodying gratitude, we reduce our fear. We increase our level of happiness and become physically healthier and have Morrell energy to move forward. When we center ourselves on what we're grateful for, we released the negative, stressful, anxious and fearful thoughts and transform them into positive energy, which becomes part of your motivation and driving force. 19. Exercise 4: Gratitude for Failure: look at exercise number four in your workbook. I want you to think back to your past successes and failures. I want you to write down at least five experiences that you're grateful for that specifically apply towards accomplishing your goal. Now, how will being grateful for these learnings help you with accomplishing your goal tomorrow morning? I want to write down five more experiences that you're grateful for now. This time they don't have to be a part of accomplishing your goal, but making a habit of writing down the things that you're grateful for. Read the list several times a day when a negative thought pops in your head. Look back at that list. Look back at what you're grateful for by writing and reading what you're grateful for. Your constantly filling your head with positive thoughts, and any time a negative thought comes in your mind, you can replace it with a positive thought. So go ahead. Give it a try right where you're grateful for whether or not it's a success or a failure. Replace your negative thoughts with your posit 20. Reframing Failure: listen to me really closely. Success and failure are on the same road, so relax. Take a deep breath. You will fail. It's time to get over that time to reframe the thought of failure. You are a living and breathing. You are stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. Success and failure are not on different roads. They don't even meet at a crossroad. Success and failure share the same road, but success. It's just further down the road. You probably don't remember, but when you learn to walk, you fell down 100 times. You failed, but you got back up, refocused balance yourself and tried again. Guess what? You learned to walk before you learn to master something new, there's a period of time in which you can't do it. Maybe you have to try 10 times. Maybe it's 20 shoot, depending on what you're doing, it might take 500 times until you've reached complete success. If successful people are out there learning new things, conquering new challenges and quote unquote perfecting their ability toe walk, Could this mean that successful people Fillmore? Then they're unsuccessful counterparts. Hm? Successful people know that failure is not final. It's on Lee Construction zones on your road to success reframe your mindset The way you respond to failure will determine your success. Failure inspires winners and defeats losers Robert Kiyosaki Failure is your personal historical marker as you drive down your road to success. 21. Exercise 5: Reframe Your Failure: refer to exercise five in your workbook. I want you to name three circumstances in which you may have failed at first, but have now succeed for each circumstance. What inspired you to keep going? How can you apply that inspiration towards accomplishing your goal? 22. Forgiving Yourself & Letting Go: Often we hold ourselves back and create an energy block because we still worry about a mistake that happened 5 to 10 years ago. This type of energy block is impacting your self confidence. You are holding on to all the pain but not learning any of the lessons. As humans. We're good at this. We tend to hold on to the pain but bury the learning. Stop holding onto the pain and not learning all the lessons. You must consciously let go of the pain and bring forward the lessons seriously. Let it go. It doesn't matter anymore whether it was five years ago, 10 years ago or yesterday. What happened in the past doesn't define your future. We all make mistakes. Your dreams, goals and aspirations are calling. You recognize that by holding onto your mistake, you are holding yourself back. You must take responsibility and stop blaming others. Analyze that mistake and become really clear on what you learn. You'll gain a lot from reflecting on specific mistakes. Give yourself permission to forgive. To forgive yourself. Let go of the negative energy. Learn from the mistake, but be free of the weight. Use your mistakes as positive energy to move forward. If you make him a steak or fail, it's something. Give yourself time to process and then move on. Set a time limit 15 minutes, one hour or one day. Reflect and learn from your mistake, but forgive yourself and let it go. 23. Exercise 6: Forgive Yourself: Let's take a look at Exercise six in your workbook. I want you to write down at least five things. Five past mistakes that you need to forgive yourself for and are holding you back. What did you learn from each mistake? How can you apply those learnings to your goals in life? Finally, how would it feel to forgive yourself once you remove those energy blocks? Now, I want you to write a forgiveness statement for each of those experiences. I provided you kind of an outline within the workbook. But it's your forgiveness statement. Write what you want, right? What you feel. 24. Mindset Summary: Let's take a moment to review what we've learned. Your fear of failure is a process that we understand and can interrupt with positive mindset exercises. Aligning your core values can help provide you the energy to succeed. Gratitude for the good and bad helps us release the negative, stressful, anxious and fearful energy and transform it into positive energy. We can reframe failure. It's our personal historical marker as we drive down the road towards success. What happens in the past doesn't define your future. Forgive yourself, learn from your mistakes and let them go. 25. Exercise 7: Using Mindset Exercises: how you use these mindset exercises to create positive energy towards accomplishing your goal. 26. Taking Control : This is more of an ongoing exercise that you can apply in any situation. It will further increase your self awareness and help you gain control of your thoughts, beliefs, actions and energy. As a business leader or entrepreneur, you face tough challenges. Any time you face a challenge, take a deep breath and relax. Often, the unknown clouds our thoughts. It's time to clear out that clutter. How you react to challenges is about you in your ability to control your thoughts, beliefs, actions and energy. Now let's start taking some positive action when facing your fears and challenges. You have three levels of control as we go through the levels. Concentrate. Don't get trapped in the illusion of control. The illusion of control is a tendency for people to overestimate their ability to control events, people or things when facing a tough challenge or the fear of failure. Look at what you have 100% control over. This is level one. You have 100% control over your thoughts, feelings, emotions and actions and sometimes systems processes in resource is level two. What or whom can you influence friends, family, colleagues, clients, center. You can use skills such as communication change management in motivational techniques that influence them to help you reach your goals. Time to step up and lead level three. What are whom you have? Zero controller. Often this is where the illusion of control comes in. So it's people, the market competitors, the weather center. Let go of the illusion of control. Let go of what or whom you have zero control over. 27. Exercise 8: Control, Influence, Let Go: refer to exercise aiding your workbook. When you're faced with a challenge or fear, always focus on what you can control. First, get your house in order, then move on to influencing other people or things. And last stop allowing what's out of your control to cost stress, self doubt and in action. We're going to apply this control exercise to the goal you wrote down for that goal.
