Project Description

Create a tie-dye effect and use it for a digital background

1. Pick which of the 3 effects you'll create

2. Think of what digital background you want to use and set your document to the corresponding size (see below for a cheat sheet -- when in doubt, pick a larger size...that way you can always scale it down without affecting the quality.)

3. Apply the effect and export it:

  • Export a file for online/web view by clicking File > Export > Export As or Quick Export PNG (this will covert your exported file to 72 dpi even if you set your document up at 300 dpi)
  • Export a print file by clicking File > Save As > and select JPEG from the dropdown menu.
  • Also remember to save as a Photoshop (.psd) file so you'll be able to edit it later!

TIP: use the effects as a background for quotes and other graphics...just add the additional layers to your document before exporting.
