Project Description

Draw and color 2 webcomics characters.

ASSIGNMENT

This your Skillshare Webcomics Challenge!

Your assignment is to draw and color 2 unique webcomics characters — this will form the foundation for your very own webcomic! Start by drawing faces, then create stylized bodies (remember to exaggerate!), and finally color them so they really come alive.

I can hear you asking: Do you have to do 1 guy and 1 girl? Nope! The characters you choose are up to you. You could draw 2 guys, 2 girls, or even 2 animals. Whatever you'd like. The important thing is to have fun and stay true to the story you want to tell.

Coming up with characters is all about trying things and experimenting. Once you create your comic, you'll have to draw these characters literally hundreds and thousands of times, so you want to get it right!

And this is just the beginning! Watch for my next Skillshare class about putting your characters in a webcomic, coming soon!

DELIVERABLE

Share your 2 webcomics characters in the gallery. Feel free to include sketches and your progress along the way. A completed project will include:

  • 10-face "brainstorm" sketches
  • Body sketches
  • 2 final, colored characters (reference sheet)
