About This Class

Skill level – Experienced Resist Users
Previous class – No Sew 3D Felting
Next class – Chritsmas Tree
Series – Multi-ribbed Resists & The Felted Cactus Garden

I have been obsessed with Cacti & Succulents since I was a small girl.  I love the structure and shape, and the magnificent unexpected blooms that appear often at night.  It was only a matter of time that I would make them from felt.  Join me in this workshop to create your own Cactus whilst learning multi-ribbed resist technique.  This method of making resists will change the way you think about 3D felt making, and we’ll learn interesting things about Cacti along the way!

  • Resist and template theory & design
How to makie a 3D object without any stitching plus best practices and materials to use.
  • Complex wool laying
In situ versus prelaid techniques and uses.
  • A variety of felting methods,
There are as many ways to make felt as there felters!

Class Project
Make a beautiful Barrel Cactus in one piece from wool, or change up the colour scheme and make a gorgeous sculpture using the same technique.

Resources provided in the Project:
