About This Class

FULLY MASTER THE ESSENTIALS OF SPANISH IN A MATTER OF HOURS, NOT YEARS!

NO BORING "STUDY", ONLY NON–STOP SPEAKING.

EL MÉTODO allows you to:

► Speak, non-stop, from the very start. (no note-taking required)
► Produce and assimilate thousands of practical phrases for daily use.
► Painlessly absorb grammar and vocabulary at intermediate level.
► Make rapid progress, without the need to memorise or "study" in the traditional sense.

ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE CARRIED AWAY BY THE METHOD.

"Tell me and I will forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn ." (Benjamin Franklin)

Right from the start, EL MÉTODO engages you in a non-stop spoken dialogue that requires no pen and paper. This beautifully simple resource allows you to use and understand Intermediate Spanish in a matter of hours, without the need for tiresome attempts at memorisation or lengthy, grammatical explanations. This is achieved through a expertly designed, world-class methodology that builds up and practices the language in your mind and mouth, step by step, until you are able to form increasingly complex sentences with ease.

From the very start, you will be forming your own sentences, effortlessly absorbing structures without even realising it. The method guides you through Intermediate Spanish in a motivating and stimulating way.

Recent students put it this way:

★★★★★"Outstanding from the very first lesson to the end. The Spanish is challenging and fast moving, and yet  constantly revisits vocabulary and structures so that it sinks into long term memory. Explanations are short and yet accommodate for all learning styles. The whole journey has been a world-class introduction into a language I’ve learned to love. ¡Gracias por todo!"

★★★★★"After completing level 1 and level 2 , I am here for level 3 and have already purchased level 4. Does it not  prove how good and well organised the courses are! It's Fantastic. Beyond expectation!"

LEARN SPANISH NATURALLY AND RAPIDLY

In EL MÉTODO as in real life, learning is a continuous process, not a series of separate topics. Each new word or structure is preceded by a clear and precise introduction. The process continues as the students use the new word in a variety of different contexts. Repeated exposure to new words and structures over time, in a wide variety of situations and associations, means that these are acquired for life.

HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?

EL MÉTODO INTERMEDIATE, level 1, consists of 20 video lessons of spoken Spanish. After every lesson there is a series of optional written exercises..

We will engage you in a spoken dialogue that requires no pen and paper. Just talk, talk and talk. You won't stop speaking Spanish from start to finish. This is the ideal system to learn Spanish.

My goal with EL MÉTODO  is for you to become "hooked" on the program, thereby mastering intermediate Spanish as quickly as humanly possible.

To your success!

The non-stop SPEAKING Spanish course

Teacher

Hello, I'm Peter.

After twenty years teaching languages in France, Spain and U.K it quite clear that the traditional methods used by the majority schools and language academies do not produce good results. Most of the students finish their courses with a very poor command of the language and this, at times,  after thousands of hours of study!

As a result, I have created EL MÉTODO, a new and different approach to the teaching of Spanish for beginners that will provide one with a solid base and a practical usage of the language as quickly as is humanly possible, without the need for laborious memorisation or "study " associated with conventional Spanish courses.

Mirar,: Okay, welcome to the first class of the second intermediate level of elemental, or if you're new to elemental though, please be aware this course is a continuation of the program and it's designed to be taken either from the beginning of level one for complete beginners, or if you already know some Spanish, as is probably your case from the beginning of the intermediate level, let's just say level one intermediate. Now I'm sure you're familiar with the important guidelines for following the course. But here they are again, just in case. And here's the program of study. We advise you to adopt. Many students following El Matador have achieved great results this way, following this approach, the important thing is not to race through the lessons in a mad dash to the end, but to be thorough and semi perfectionist, working steadily yet keeping up the intensity and self-discipline that allow you to reap the benefits within a relatively short period of time. The verbs to look and to watch in English, a covered by the same verb, meta. In Spanish. In English to look at suggests we're looking at something static. Whereas to watch generally means to observe something that's moving. But in Spanish, these are both covered by the one verb, meta. Need add. A quick reminder here of the imperative forms that we've studied extensively in previous classes. So how do you think we would say, Look at me? Meta may need on me. And now look at it. And tried to say, look at it again. Nida lot rabbit. Now do you remember how to say? I don't feel like I don't feel like doing something to remember that structure. Not tengo Ghana's day. No, tengo Ghana's day. So now like you to say, I don't feel like looking at it or indeed I don't feel like watching it. It's the same in Spanish. Nothing go Gunners, the mirror law. Nothing will run as the medulla. Now order someone study it again. A studio or travel? S2, the allowed traffic. I don't feel like studying it again. Not tengo Ghana's this do nothing or Rana does to the drug. Don't look at me. Know my immediate instruction of the command, watch. Everybody will involve the personal, as everybody obviously refers to people. Watch everybody. Meta a dada. Dada. Or we can say meter, our total mondo. Need a dollar in mondo. I'm watching television. Television. Este meander laterally VC on. Or indeed we could say medulla television. Both a valid pillar expressing what you're doing currently at the present time. Medial lateral IVC on. I don't understand why he always looks at me like that. No Indian and uppercase simply may meter. I see. Nine, the end uppercase C. It seems to mean, in other words, I think, but using the special formula we studied in level 1, 4, it seems to me, it seems to me she doesn't like lending her things. Ethic in no legal step press starts with courses. They can only go step-by-step process. How did we say Nothing in Spanish or indeed anything in the negative sense? Nada, nothing is easy. Everything is difficult. Dada. Dada is the fifth. I don't have anything for you. Not dangle Nevada, but nothing or neither. Sure, you all remember from previous levels. But here's a table of the irregular imperatives just to remind you. And now Command someone, don't do anything. No, I guess not. I guess never. And now tried to say, I haven't looked I haven't looked at anything yet. Dada dada dada via and I tried to ask, Has she lend you the money? They are LD nato. Nato. She hasn't lent me anything yet. No makeup restart on Nala. Nala, Nala ta-da via don't do anything until next week. No, I guess another as de la semana KB and a stellar semana caveat. Don't call anybody until tomorrow. No, yummy. And now the Ramayana, how do you think we would say he has gone out as a leader? As a leader. And now try. He hasn't understood. Nine, the needle. I've left it on the table. De La Mesa. We could also say the lawyer, the lawyer, they follow sobre la mesa. I have found it lowing contractual. Elaine, controller. You'll be pleased to hear that the verb estar to be is perfectly regular in this perfect tense. So I have spoken AI bladder. I have been a status. So how do you think we would say I have been here before? I've been here before. And this and this. 3. ¿Quién?: Okay, Welcome back. I would really say he has been here many times before. I start though I move just betas and Tess. I start with this and this. And what about, we've been here before. Mooc started wacky and takes a more stable alkene. This. Now I'd like you to ask someone. Have you spoken to your parents? Our sub-level contused padres. As every other countries padres. Now have a go at asking the same question, but this time addressing it to several children or friends, that's to say in the plural informal vosotros form. Have you spoken to your parents? Our base, our bladder con nuestros padres, our base, habla.com. West responded is now ask, have they bought the black one? I'm comparable El Negro. Negro. No, they haven't bought it yet. No, no, no. No, no. Dada via have they lived in Spain? And BBDO finished pioneer. And BBDO in Hispania. What about, have you eaten the sandwiches? As Kami dollars, bokeh, your SSH, as comida less Boccaccio's. And now again, address this to a couple of friends. Have you eaten the sandwiches? Are based commit all of Bokeh. Base comida eligible caddy, yes. Now, can you ask how many beers have they had with us? And tomato. Tomato. How many coffees with she had one of those cafes or tomato. Those cafes or tomato. Have you lent him the money? Layers, press towel, De Niro, Lee nato. The No, I'd like you to address the same question to someone in a formal who's dead manner. Have you lent him the money? Layer plus Totto, LD nato. Nato. Have you left her a message? Last staccato, as they hadn't been saccade. You probably remember that to wait for is spit out. So it's just the one word is spit out is if we were saying a weight to await someone, the four is not necessary. The preposition four is not necessary in Spanish. Tried to say, I'm waiting for you. They Spiro, or indeed we can say the story spin under the Speedo. They stay a spade and he's waiting for her. Lice beta or lice dice beta. Beta times beta. I'm waiting for my mother. A sparrow, Army Marine. And I hope you remembered the personal which is included before a person. It's wrong to say. Is Sparrow. Sparrow Army, Marine? Speedo I me, mine. Any are you waiting for Carlos? And here I'd like you to use the composed the longer the progressive form. A spit on no, I covered loss. Is does it spit on blackout loss? Why are you waiting for our case does is paid under why are you waiting for me? Give me a status is better known. Why don't you wait for them? Volcanoes this betas. Now could you ask a couple of people the same question in an informal manner? Why don't you wait for them? But the important question word in Spanish is Kian. Who's waiting for you. Who's waiting for Jessica? Cain is beta. I, Jessica. Jessica. We're waiting for a friend and please make this a female friend. I want omega. And now the instruction or the command, wait, a spade, a spade. We'd hear please. S beta key por favor. 4. Time Trial.: Hi. Okay. When I go for life. 5. Vale, Shall?, Puerta, Ventana: We finished, listen to with the instruction a spit I keep or fervor weight here please. Now to say, okay, in agreement or acceptance in Spanish, we say valley. Remember the V is just a very light be valley. Valley. How the movie saying, okay, We will wait for you here. Okay. We'll wait for you here. And I tried to say, we are waiting for you. They sped Amherst. In English, the word shall as a question, is used to make a suggestion or an offer. Shall I opened the window? Shall we go out tonight? In the sense of, do you think it's a good idea? This is very common in standard British English, but often rare in other parts. Certainly not common in American English, were suggestions and offers as questions are more often expressed with should I? However, in this course, we'll stick to the British usage of shell for offers and suggestions. So to ask, shall we wait for you? It's very simple. We just use the present tense in Spanish as a question. How would we say, shall I wait for you? Shall I send it? Shall I send it to her? Shall I send it to her today or shallow weight. Cinnamon noise or a Speedo? Shall I do it? To new words, a door and a window. Been Danner, again, a very light be for the V. I've been showing you open the door. Abdullah. Abdullah. Shall I close the window? Theater and Dance. Theater 11, Diana, shall we leave? Sally. Sally most. It's also very common to hear Nussbaum. Nussbaum, us. We come back tomorrow. Shall we study? Another lesson? Is to the Proterozoic Eon, is to the metallic Xian. Shall I tell you? The Legal Eagle. Okay. How would you order someone close the door, open the window? When a person is persona, una persona. Now this is feminine regardless of whether a person refers to a man or a woman una persona. So now, how do you think we would say to people persona's those personas? And I tried to say, there are three people here. I dress persona's IP, address, persona's hockey. And they'll say, I'm watching that person and please use the long progressive form. Here. Is our persona. Stymied on bicep is so now, why is it DNS? Dns. 6. Visitar, País, Cuenta, Pagar: Welcome back. Now, first important phrase in this fourth lesson with level 2 is, I have spoken to for people this morning. Air bladder can quatro persona's is common Yana AIR bladder quadrupeds, Sona system Ayana. The verb to visit in Spanish is very similar. Busy. And we see that. And the country is. And be sure to stress, to emphasize the eye as it has an accent on by 0s on base. Now, how do you think we would say, I have visited ABC. Abc paddle. Now say, I haven't visited that country. Know ABC, abc, acb, ice. We've visited many countries. Do muchos. Biases. Must be C pedal motor spices. Ask me how many countries are I have visited? Tammy says ABC, ta-da. But I wouldn't that make quantum spices IVC title. And now we'll ask someone, shall I tell you how many people I've visited today? The persona's CBC. Did he go quantize better soon as ABC title. Shall I tell you how many countries I visited this year? By E6, ABC Tada is Daniel. The Vigo quanto spices ABC Tardos. Daniel. I will never visit your country. We can also say, how do you think we would say that person doesn't interest me? Esa persona, Teresa. Teresa. And have a go at saying, I think that that person is wasting my time. Persona. Persona. You may have chosen ME, arete k may party thick esa persona, PLL, MIT MBA. Which is great. It means, I think in the sense of, it seems to me that we may have said Pn, so K, which is also fine. It suggests the result of a mental process of using your brain rather than a intuitive impression. But all of these can be used more or less interchangeably. The bill as in the thing you pay at a restaurant or from ill or an American English, the check is La Quinta. La Quinta. Can you bring me the bill for this Trier me La Quinta a La Quinta. Can you give the bill to those people that are less La Quinta is as persona for this. Silence. Can you send them the bill? La Quinta trike? Can you send it to them? For this man data cella. Point is man Darcy law. Just to get used to these common patterns is a good idea to repeat them over and over with this MAN, Marcella, Marcella Man Darcy law. Man, Darcy law. Okay, Good. Shall I put the bill on the table? Bongo La Quinta in La Mesa. Bongo La Quinta, La Mesa. Have you looked at the bill? La Quinta as meta, the La Quinta to pay in Spanish, you might already know is. I'd like you to ask who's going to pay? I'm going to pay you going to pay the bill. La Quinta. Bossa La La Quinta? That person hasn't paid the bill. La Quinta. La Quinta. 7. Time Trial: Hi. Okay. When I go for life. 8. Hace, Minuto, De acuerdo: So to start less than five, how would we ask, should we pay now? Or pay first? Then you can eat backup. Ramiro tried to say, I'm going to send it to him and volume and Marcello just say, I'm going to pay him for it. Again, we just need the two pronouns after the verb. I'm going to pay him for it. Boy. Oh, boy, yeah. Whenever in Spanish 2 implies in order to introduce. So how do you think we would say, I'm calling you to know the YAML. How would you tell a lady the same thing politely, formally, I'm calling you to know. And how about a gentleman? And now tell the same gentlemen. I'm calling you to know if you think it's a good idea. Cplsa case wound up when I eat their recipients hackers who now when I there, I will call you later. I will call her later to ask her La Liga. You may have responded. But in fact here, the object is indirect because you ask something to somebody, so it's not pregnant. That law. I would like to have the bill in order to pay me who study at 1080 La Quinta? Will study at dinner. La Quinta. We would like to ask you something. We would like to ask you if you can go out with us. Con nosotros. Nosotros. The way to say ago is unlike English, the word ethic goes before the time phrase. So for example, to say a year ago, It's a minute, is amino dawn on me? No town. So try to say a minute ago. I'm sure you remember how to say she has just left the salad. She's just left two minutes ago. Cover the Sally sally acidosis may notice. I've just seen him five minutes ago. I think. Kami notice I've just arrived here two days ago at the dot ds. Ds. We've just paid the bill a moment ago. Aka most debugger, La Quinta momentum. La Quinta momentum. I don't feel like staying here a minute longer. Or in Spanish, this translates to a minute more. I don't feel like staying here a minute longer. Nothing or Ghana, speak it. Armenia, key, amino, Tomas. Nothing more. Mass. How about the question? Shall we wait a few minutes more? Mass is, but I'm also knows me notice mass. The weight say I agree is a stoic. They're quite dark. I'm off agreement. A steroid. They are credible. Stay there quite a while. How then would we say, I agree with you? A story? They are queryable, contiguous, continual. Now I'd like you to ask who agrees with me that they are equitable DNA study, equitable? Camila? I don't agree with her. No estoy. There are quite a lot quite a nice day. 9. Past Tense (Hablé), Yesterday: So picking up where we left off, how do you think we would say, Do you agree with this? Is thus, they are conditioned to Tesla where the icon is done. And how about, I don't agree with the bill. Nostoi. Can La Quinta. Nice day, the equator, the con La Quinta. Why don't you agree? Perkin noise task, they acquire law. But it kinda starts deck right along. I don't agree with the bill because it's too expensive. No steroid. They're quite a book called La Quinta. Bookcase Damasio Kiara. Nice day that credible Cohen La Quinta per case. They must see yada, yada. We've now reached a key point in the course, the point where we start delving into the past, the past tense, often referred to as the pressure at which I know many of you will be anxious to learn and master at this stage. Although there are a number of common irregular verbs with irregular past forms, we'll start practicing some common regular verbs just to make life easy. So in the present tense, I speak is our blog routinely or right now, I'm speaking. Now to say I spoke is simply a play. You'll notice that e has an accent, so really lean on that last syllable, the e, Lei. Lei. Okay. Tried to say I spoke to that person. Can esa persona? Persona. I didn't speak to Jessica. No. Oblique can Jessica Jessica. And try shall I speak to her now? Our blow cornea. Fine. Now the word yesterday is I didn't speak to him yesterday. No ablate canal. I didn't speak to him yesterday. I spoke to him this morning. No oblique oblique canal. Estimate IANA. Another regular AR verb is compared to buy. So I bought, is tried to say, I bought it. I bought it on Friday. Lb at an S. Should I buy another one? I bought it two days ago. Ds. Ds. And how do you think we would say I called her? Bearing in mind that Jamal is another regular AR verb. I called her law yummy. Yummy. Good. I called her twice. Dose with this. And how about I paid the bill bagging La Quinta. A La Quinta. You can see here that an extra you is added to maintain the hard g sound. The EU is required. So it's not a La Quinta. But again, now with another regular AR verb, tried to say, I lent him the money, LD nato. Nato. And now being very careful not to leave out any little word. How would you say I lent gotten lost the money the money to Carlos. Carlos. Carlos. I waited for five minutes. Don't bother translating the four here. It's not necessary in Spanish. I waited for five minutes. A spirit. A spirit. If you notice. I closed the door. Really tried to roll that WR of federal law. I watched the television meeting. 10. Time trial.: Hi. Okay. When I go for life. 11. Practice and Extension: Okay, welcome back. The first sentence in lesson 7 is, I sent the message Monday, eight minutes. Okay. How about I sent her the message. And how would we say I send the message to Jessica? Jessica. Jessica. I sent it. Now try I sent it to her. Sailor man. I hope you didn't make the mistake of saying absolutely forbidden these two elbows together. Sit on Monday. We started a few minutes ago. Empathy may notice. Notice. I didn't finish the lesson. Not tell me. No. I didn't finish the course, but I finished the lesson. Now we're going to present all the conjugations, all the different forms of regular AR verbs in the past and the simple past. Sometimes there's the pressure. It tends to help these synchronous quickly as possible. Try this chant. Speak the verbs along with us. And eventually perhaps after playing the whole thing through a couple of times, see if you can chant along without looking at the screen, though it may help to keep reading the first column, the pronouns with covering the actual verb forms on the right, you'll see what I mean. Joe belay, do our velocity, L, Blow, Blow. Short-term. Our beloved Bush was sought to rush the last days a year are bilateral. Ia, joe, our blade to our blush day. A low blow. No shortcut us. Our beloved Bush was short-term us the last days AS Avalon. Yet they're not on job. Blade to the last day. And blow I yet block those shutters are available. Did you speak to Jessica Jessica congestive to speak about something is hablar de tried to say, did they speak about my idea? The media. The media. Blemish the Altera caution. And I'll say I bought something else or track osha. Osha. Right the way to say last week, last month, and last year is less the amount of Masada at a mes pasado. It on your pasado? Yes. A monopoly in Miss pasado. Ano pasado. And no, say I asked you last week, remembering to include it in your answer. De la la semana Passover. They watched something else last week or last similar Posada. Need add-on. Note that cosine we stayed there last month. L MS. Pasado. And why didn't you stay longer or in Spanish? Why didn't you stay more time? But again, not take it a step must import. But it cannot take it as the mass dm boil. At what time did they finish the work or indeed the job. But what time did they finish the job? I think they worked until seven o'clock. I think they stopped working at eight o'clock. I think they stopped working before eight. Good day. Okay. Okay, but I don't think they stopped before seven. Bally better. Naclo Gaylord, they hadn't. And this dealer CAT, the final antigen, the law CAT. I sent it to last year, pasado ano pasado. I sent the message. I sent the message to you. I sent the message to her. Lemma means sappy. Now in this case as leg could refer to either a man or a woman, him or her boy or girl. Then we can add i or i. Just declare the meaning up, or indeed the name lemon, yellow, lemon, lemon and Mintaka and Jessica. But in all these cases, we still need the leg, although it actually becomes redundant at this point. Nevertheless, it's always included. Repeat the sentence over and over for a day or two, and this redundant pronoun start to sink in. Lemme, lemme, lemme. Zackie, I I send the message to Jessica. Did you remember to use the redundant late delay Monday elements roughly, Jessica. Jessica. Okay, so now with this concept to the redundant pronoun, understood, what happens if instead of the message, we wanted to say it, instead, if we wanted to replace the message with it, I sent it to Jessica, I sent it to him or to her. The logical way would be nil or Monday. But remember this combination is impossible. The two L's together must be avoided. So Layla becomes sit low silica, silica Monday. Now just as before, C can refer to him or to her. So what we do is specify the person after the verb to clear up any ambiguity of the SE. But do remember to keep the redundant. Sing at all costs. Seller Monday I sell on Monday. Monday at Jessica. I sent it to Jessica. Jessica. Jessica. I send it to her. Said on Monday. I sent it to her last year. El ano pasado. I didn't send it to her. I sent it to him. No. Say low Monday. Monday. Yeah. I sent it to just last year. Elon your pasado. Jessica. I'll send her something else this year. Casa is Daniel. Daniel 13. Time Trial.: Hi. Okay. When I go for life. 14. Practice and Extension: First phrase in lesson 9 is, I have to ask a friend data. Then what the polygon data and he bought it. Then how about he bought it for her? Silicon prone. We can also say that the use of the pronoun works just fine here. He bought it for Jessica. Jessica. Jessica. We could also say Jessica, both versions are fine. How many lessons did you listen to yesterday? When tests like the on-axis could trust the company lessons, have you listened to today? Your next assays could shadow the shadow. Now try to ask, how many courses did you finish last year? Terminus el ano pasado? One tos courses ten minutes della your pasado. And how many of you finished this year? Daniel. Daniel. What bills did you pay last week? When does paragraphs de la semana Posada, Masada. And what bills have you paid this week? As pagoda? Same manner. Are you sure you close the door and the window? Is 11. Diana. Some students studied Spanish, others studied English. And this is through the ironist or truces to the Eran English. Unos is to the antithesis to the agonist biannually, or trusses to the adenine glaze. Now can you remember how to say, I don't like that person. Usta, esa persona. Know my worst days have been Asana. I don't like listening to Peter all the time. No matter who's high school, Jarrod know Mongoose test could be dead. I know in the past I didn't like that person. Know me who stop esa persona? Know Megastore is happiness. So now I didn't like that country. No Megastore. I didn't like your questions. Don't know. Maybe we'll start on two split. I won't deaths. I like her. Megastar. And for extra clarity, we could say may goes to Asia. And how about I didn't like him. I like him, but I didn't like her. Megastore. Gustaf. Yeah. I liked some lessons. Jonas. Jonas? I liked some lessons, but I didn't like them all. Jonas told us the'90s, beta anomer, we'll start on togas. Do remember how to say at about, for example, at about five o'clock Chobani. So how do we say she arrived at about six o'clock? Diego shrubbery law says Diego survey last SASE. But they didn't arrive until seven o'clock. Nguyen, I don't Estella CAT. They called ten minutes ago. Yamato, Nephi Viet Minh notice. Why didn't they call sooner? Or gate no. Mass pronto, volcano Yamato mass Brenda. Nobody called her this afternoon. Now the law is another way to say this would be no law. Is that database. 15. Ayudar, Intentar, Pasar: So then moving on again relentlessly building on and consolidating your knowledge on next important verb is to help you that. So how would you cry for help, help me? Ayuda way. I knew that I wanted to help you. I think that this lesson will help you grow crystal clear case telling you that. But I can't help you if you don't listen to you that a, B, C noise could just whether you like to see nice Cortes. Try to, try to do something is in normal, regular AR verb. I tried to help you. In the hierarchy. They argue that day. You didn't help me much. Less than mucho. I bought it to help you. We bought the course to help him with his Spanish conquest by neural. Do you think it has helped him? Hello, I do that though. I know it's helped him a little. Poco. Poco tried to speak Spanish in 10 to hablar espanol. I'm trying but you're not helping me better normally, i u dash Estonian, then Dann doch. Very common verb. We touched on briefly in the beginner's courses, is happened to spend time, which is time itself is the MPO. For example. How much time, how long? So try to say we have spent a lot of time here. Most pasado tiempo, AKI, pasado mu2. How long are you going to spend in caddied? Now ask a couple of friends, how many days did you spend in my Yorker stays in my Yorker. One ds by sustain my yoga. We spent a week in my Yorker and then a month in a BFA owner seminar in my Yorker. Ego, miss, anybody can miss anybody. 16. Time trial.: Hi. Okay. When I go for life. 17. ¿Cuánto tiempo hace que...?: All are nice to have you back. If you've reached this far, following our guidelines to the letter, you're doing a great job. To ask how long someone's been doing something. In English we obviously use have. How long have you lived in Spain? However, finish by noon. The present tense, the simple present tense is used with the verb, fare, to do or to make a fair. And we get quanto tempo. I think Gabi wish in Hispania, literally, how long or how much time does it make that you live in Spain? Repeat please. Quanto tempo, I think Gabi wish and Espana. One, the empathic give us in Hispania. Now trying to ask how long has she studied Spanish? Quanto, tempo at the case today I span your quantity empathic is to the espanol. How long has your son been watching television? Quanto tempo at the K2 eco medulla tele be shown quantity empathic comida lateral ABC on How long have you been waiting for me? Quantity and poetic and may spit us one plastic MS. Betas. And how long have you been going out with her? Quanto tempo ethic is Sally's cornea. Quantity empathic is Sally Scania. Okay, if you found that a little tricky, just go back to the beginning of the lesson and repeat that section. Now to answer these questions with, for example, I've lived here for 10 years. We say apathy, DSA, guy vivo, lucky. Literally, it makes ten years that I live here, or I've been living here. Repeat please. I think DSR vivo, lucky. Heavy, heavy wacky. So try to say, I've studied Spanish for six months. I've been studying Spanish for six months. At the essays Mrs. Kay studio a spaniel. Fsas missus, get studio Spaniard. She's been watching the television for about two hours per square meter laterally, VC1. I've been paying the bills for many years. I think. Yes. They've been trying to learn Spanish for a long time. At the mucho tiempo. We've been helping them for many weeks. At the Kenosha. You damage at the motor? Same manner scalars are you damages? How would we say I am working? Estoy drama Honda is a handle. I spend a lot of time working on mucho rubber handle bars. So mucho rubber handle. I've been working on this lesson for hours literally it makes ours that I am working on this lesson. It makes hours that I work on this lesson. I thought I skipped Roboto. Xian. Xian. I'm going to try to finish it before one o'clock. Boy indenter ketamine, not a law. And this Della Luna Boynton determiner land is the lacunae. I finished two lessons yesterday. Delaminate dose like the on this side, good. Now as we saw before, the first is, the last is an demo. Demo. Demo. So what would the Spanish For the last lesson be? The molecular ion, the malloc thin. How did we say harder, more difficult. Muscle mass. The faith in this lesson is harder than the last lesson. S must be a static DNS must defeated the malathion. And to sound more natural in English, we would say this lesson is harder than the last one. How would you say that in Spanish? This lesson is harder than the last one? Is the electron is must defeat. Dima. Established theory is much defeating. The mom tried to say, the first lesson is easier than the last. La primera lengthen. Yeah, pretty metallic. Fiona's must fulfill Dima. Now there are two points to remember about the adjective. Pretty meadow pre-med as a numeral adjective for a second last etc. it goes before the noun that describes la primera classy, just like in English, the first-class law. Grassy. Second is that it drops the bow before a masculine noun. So we didn't say a pre-made or commercial Premier. Premiere ombre, the first man, el ombre. However, the a is kept in the feminine form, la primera Lectio. So how do you think we would say the first course is easier than the last? Premier UFO is must fatty Gulati mode. L pre-made corso is mass facility lose demo. The last course is better than the first one. Corso. Premier Pro. A loyalty more cursor is methodical perimeter. 18. Buen, Mal, Segundo: Can you give the Spanish for the last course is better than the first? Luteum or Kershaw. Get a premarital. A loyalty more coarser is my remainder. I don't agree. Nostoi the Equator though. Noise doing there. Why don't you agree? Again, noise, noise test duckweed alone. Because I like the first course a lot. War gaming, USTA mucho and premier corso, mutual premier cursor. Now as we already know, the adjectives good and bad in Spanish, or Bueno and malloc. Now Ueno and mallow both work like the adjective pre-med on that we saw before. In that they usually, but not always go before the noun. They describe. Mla, idea when normally they're bad idea. Una Boyne, our persona, a good person if they are placed after the noun. And that's fine too, but the effect is slightly weaker. You might say that una mal idea is a really bad idea and an idea MLA is perhaps a rather bad idea. Now also just like Premier, or they drop the o before I'm a masculine noun. So when corso, the good course, Chaldea, a bad day. So trying to say he has a bad dog. Dna when Mao Barrow, pedro, she's a bad person. Extra Mullah persona, una MLA persona. He's a good student. Buenos to the end there. The adjective second is very similar to the English Segundo. So try to say the second course is better than the first. Segundo corso as my Gale Premier Pro. In say 10 courses. My heart. I'm trying to understand the second lesson in Dando and then the last segment. In Denton, The Netherlands, a wound. Alec thin. I spoke to the first-person yesterday. Ablate con la primera persona. Made up it Sona, yet they spoke to the second person this morning. I blather on Corn Law Sagan, the persona es Una persona stamina. And now say, they haven't spoken to everybody know and our bladder controllers. $9. How would we say he doesn't like the first course or in Spanish? The first course doesn't please him or the first course isn't pleasing to him. He doesn't like the first course. No Lego style Premier Khrushchev, UW Style premier corso. They don't like the first course. Knowledge Cuscuta L premier crucial. None is good style pre-med courses. They don't like the first lessons. Not viscus, timeless pretty matters like the owner's knowledge goes 10 less pretty made us lick the harness. She doesn't like the first lessons. Not only withstand last pre-made our select the Ornish. None I will stand less, but he made us lick Fiona's. She likes the first course but she doesn't like the second one. Leg USTA premier corso, better, normally hostile segment style, pre-made, coarser. Pedro Nollywood, tell Segundo. She finds it very boring. Blowing Kendra, reader. Quinta ammonia burrito. Now using the conditional, he would like, he would like to do the second course. Osteria will say, Well, no corso. 19. Time trial.: Hi. Okay. Hi. 20. Past Tense (-ER, -IR verbs): By now you should have a fairly solid grasp of the AR verbs in the past tense. So let's move on to the ER and IR verbs, much luckily share the same endings. Firstly, the verb sally. For the moment, just, I forgot, I left, which is Sally. And the she and he form, which is Sally node where the stress falls on both of these. Sally, Sally, to leave a place is Sally day? And then you mentioned the place. Now could you say I left the shop at eight o'clock in Spanish? We would have to say I left from the shop with day. I left the shop at eight o'clock. Sally sally della. She left the house at about two o'clock. De la Casa. De la casa soberly, last dose. He left before finishing the lesson. And this determiner, like the Sally-Anne test determiner allelic theory on why did he leave? Now say, I don't know why he left. Nausea, uppercase, allele, uppercase a Leo. I left the hotel last week. Sally de la, la semana Posada, ASALA. Now we're going to present all the forms of regular ER and IR verbs in the simple past tense to help these sink in as soon as possible. Let's chant the conjugations. Joe, Sally to Sal easting. And Sally. Sally, your nosotros, sadly most or sutras. So at least days a year. Sally-anne. Sally-anne on your sadly and sadly speak Asia. Sally. Sally, yo know, sutras SAT II Bush was short thrusts Sal least days. A. Yes. Sadly, I don't I care. Savvy, arrowed joke. Sadly. To San Luis de El Salvador. Again, Sally, your nosotros satellite image or short-term lease stays. A JOS savvy error. I had Sally arrow, john, sadly. Sadly state a, a Saviour. Sayo, tress. Sadly bush or salt grass sat at least days AS sally error. I Year. Sally, I don't. Joe, sadly, to San Luis de add. Sally. Sally, yo nosotros, Saturday Bush called sucrose, sad least days a year. She, Sally arrow, a year, Sadie era. Joe, Sally to San Luis de Asia. Sally. Sally, you know, short grass salary, most, most shorter us, sad, least days AS cell Yaro, Year, Sally error. Joe. Sadly, to say at least de el, Sally. Sally. No stroke gross salary was for short-term. Sadly stays. A year's salary error. I Year. Sally, air on your salad leap to San Luis de Asia. Sally. Sally or no shortcut us, Sal Lemurs for sutras, sad least days. A gas, Sally. Sally Aaron. So now should be easy to say, they left today. Sally. Sally, as we said before, to leave the hotel or to leave the house, is Sally sally de la casa. So try to say they left the hotel without paying the hotel shin bag. Hello, 10 seen Paladin. They left the shop after paying the burger. Salyut on the Latvian that is poised. We left the restaurant after paying the bill. Sally, most displaced debugger like when Dan Saleema stout and Dennis La Quinta. We paid the bill, then we left. La Quinta, ego shall limos. La Quinta Lego Saleema. Now ask someone, didn't you leave with us? No, Sally, stay con nosotros. Necessarily stay con nosotros. And now ask a group of friends the same question. Didn't you leave with us? No, Sally stays con nosotros. Know Sally stays con nosotros. At what time did I leave yesterday? Our camera, Sally. Sally. I don't remember what time you left. Following the same pattern, how would we save by d? Then? I sold ten courses today. Cindy Then how would we say she sold it? Robin, DR. Lavinia. She sold it to her Robin Neo. See Lavinia. She sold it to him. Sell or when the sale of India. Now you might say, hold on, how can we tell the difference? How can we tell it if she sold it to him or to her? Well, to specify, we can add the pronoun or tag it onto the end. So how would we say she sold it to her solo in dio? Cielo? Remembering to keep that, say at the beginning, despite it being redundant, if you want to remove anything, you can remove the eye, but not the same in cases where it's already been established who you're talking about, we can remove the idea of the island, but always keeping the same as this says, never used to emphasize, never used for clarity is just part of the structure for clarity. We add aisle or the SEC always remains. She sold it to him. Silicon new sales. We sold it to them. Anymore. Psi goes. We didn't sell it to him. We sold it to her. No cell Robin D mosh, seller when demos now said I'm in the mosaic. 21. Lesson 14.: Now let's carry on practicing these essential building blocks of the Spanish language. Indeed, of any language, the pronouns, which allows to speak move fluidly and make our sentences sound less clumsy. These really are crucial to acquiring a good level of Spanish. So please, could you say, I sold it globe AND lovingly? Of course, if we were referring to a feminine noun such as a house, we would say, I sold it to him. Then if we wanted to be even clearer, silhouette ILM. I sold it to Antonio. Hello AND, and Antonio. Remembering here that the set is not optional, even if we mentioned Antonio. Antonio, I didn't sell it to Jessica. I sold it to Paula. Nacl of India, Jessica syllabus AND NOW sale of India. Jessica said, Paula, I didn't send it to David. I sent it to Carlos. No cell. Amanda David Silverman day, Carlos. No. Say no, Mandela beat salamander Carlos. I didn't ask your mother. I asked your father no celebration day or two Murray syllabary gone day at two Padre know celebrate humanity. She didn't write it to your sister. She routed to your brother? No cell. Manner. Diybio at 28 Romano. Manner seller screen. We are to add a minor. I didn't write it to you. I wrote it to him at D nonetheless, clearly at the syllabus. We didn't write it to him. We wrote it to her. Know, St. Louis XVI. More shy or SQL DB more style. May be more. Say Yeah. We didn't write the message to him. We wrote it to her. Emotional, mental MIMO say, Yeah. Now what would the Spanish before? I lost it. I lost my keys. Bedlam is yes. When did you lose them? When did you leave? When those Sally's day. When did you arrive? You guys the word for last night is unknown. And not tea. We arrived last night. I lost my keys last night. The ARBs are not Chair. Yes or no. Do you know where you lost them? Service done the last part of the state, surveys, done the last pair to this day. Spanish for and of course naught is simply louder. Again, no. Plateau literally means clear or clearly. So we're really saying clear that not glad. Okay, now, so can you get the following question and answer? Do you know where you lost them? Of course not. Service done the last pair. Glad. Okay. No surveys done the last part of the state. 22. Time Trial : Hi. Okay. Go for that. 23. Ya: They lost the money. The narrow bed via don't LD nato. When did they lose it? They lost it last night. The 80 nano t. Why did they lose it? Do you remember the verb to lend? Because they lend it to their brother. I swear mano. A mano. Try saying they lent the money to their brother. Mano. A mano, a good person. Una persona. Nice. We're not going up as Shona. Of course not. Again, no. Plateau can know. He's a very bad person. Es Una persona is when I'm moving my la persona. And the bad husband. Your muddy though. Let's put those two together. He's a very bad person and a bad husband. Es Una persona. Your malware ego is when I'm moving my la persona, Merida. Ready in Spanish is the shortest one word, gun. And it goes at the beginning of the phrase before both parts of the verb. So to say, I've already left. We say John, Doe, guy, Sally don't. How do you think we would say, I've already called a Yamato Gao, their mother. She's already sold it. You've already lost it. Better than either. One last bit of email. Now tried to say the same thing, but putting it as a question, have you already lost it? So you see we just change the intonation rather than the words themselves. Gallo as per liter. What was the Spanish for? I'm leaving in the simple, short present form. Salvo. I left. Sally. Sally. I have left SI leader. I will leave some salary. Then what about I'm arriving in the simple form. Diego. Diego. I arrived. I've arrived, I have arrived. The here, and now I will arrive. Now here's a table showing the four tenses, verb tenses that we've been covering. You'll see on the left, there's a list of verbs in light blue. In the next column. Moving to the right, we have the verbal salad in the present tense. I leave. Then moving across the past tense, Sally, I left. Then we have the present perfect meaning. I have done something, I have left in this case, SR leader. And finally, on the right we have the future. I will leave Saudi. Now along the bottom of the slide, you'll see these four words. Our order now. A year yesterday. Yeah, already. And manana tomorrow. Now as you practice going through the verbs in this table, we're going to use these words to set the context, position the verb in time. So in the first column, in the present tense, to give I leave or I'm leaving some context. We say our es algo, I'm leaving now. Our US algo, moving across our Year. Sally, yesterday I left GI Salvador. I've already left. And Montana. Sorry. I'll leave tomorrow. Okay. I'd like you to keep practicing in that manner on your own, pausing the video and speaking out loud when you're done with that, we continue with the next verb on the list. So take a good while to complete this exercise before carrying on. If you need to check back to the full table, that's fine. But use this slide just to prompt you as you go through the verbs. So going along each row gives the four-tenths is going across the list and then move down to the following conjugations. So do so with all these verbs. Now could you say, I understand? You could also say take comprendre. Then tech companies. I didn't understand him. Know low-intensity Nala Nala Nala company. They didn't understand us. No notion then the no-nos comprehend the neon known as company. I don't I don't understand why they bought it. No Indian per kilo. Per kilo. I don't understand why they sold it. Kilo per Kelvin, the Eran. I didn't understand why they sold it to her. And lastly, she didn't understand why he left the uppercase LEO, 9, 10 year per deciliter. 24. Practice and Extension: Let's start lesson 16 with the phrase, he didn't understand why she sold the house. Knowing porque la casa. 9, 10 the airport given the alla casa. They didn't understand why they helped him. Knowing then urine per CALEA you data1. We didn't speak because we didn't understand anything. No abnormal sport can know. And then demo's Nevada spoken 9, 10 Nemo's Nivea. We didn't understand anything because the teacher spoke too quickly. Then the motion of a poor girl professor below the Masada rapid or 9, 10 the most nasa per kilo professor uploaded my CLO rapid 0. How do we say we speak? And we spoke? Yes, exactly the same form, but the time-frame will always be clear from the context of Alamos. Okay. We are buying a car. Compare Amazon coaching. We didn't buy it. No. No, no. We don't understand. Then the most we didn't understand. Knowing then the mosh, nine, then demo's. So we see for the ER and the ir verbs that we form is actually different in the present of, in the past. What we know in den demos, I year knowing the Nemo's. There'll be please. Oh, you know, and then demos. I year knowing the Nemo's. Now, let's turn our attention to the verb bear in its various tensors. The verb bear presents a few irregularities, but these are simply to do with missing accidents, nothing to worry about. The spellings are identical and regular. Even the stress patterns are unchanged. The main irregularity however, is the participle. That's to say that I have seen the scene part of, I have seen that this is known as the participle, the scene part, which instead of the regular either endings such as bended or salad or is bestow. So I have seen a V-star. The aim with these charts then is to be able to recite them without looking. So for this forbear, I'll take you through the whole chart Over to you to practice until you've really mastered the whole lot. This is important work and perhaps tedious will pay an almost dividends in the long run. Epithalamus, shall we begin? Okay, The infinitive is there to say, now I see it's our NAOH, repeat plays out. Are they are yet to be GI Bill Mann, Yana Barry. I don't have IRBs day. Janice restore manana virus. Out of a I LBO. Yeah. Vista manana Beta iota Ramos. A year to be most GI most Mr. Manana by Ramos? I would have Ace. A year, obese days. Yeah. Have a submission. Manana, the race out of n i yr be Aaron yarn, Mr. Barron. And now with the help of this table to prompt you over to you to practice all these forms. So now it should be easy to say. I saw it lobby. I have seen it. I've already seen it twice. Those VFS. Did they see it? We didn't see him. How many people saw her? Contacts persona's lab here on page soon as levied on. What did you see? I saw the first person but I didn't see the second be Alla prima persona. Persona. 25. Time trial.: Hi. Okay. When I go for life. 26. Practice and Extension: Come here is a regular ER. I'd like you to take a minute or two to go through this practice chart with Command, key rule of forms just to remind you and to refer back to if you get stuck. And here's the table to prompt you as you go through all the form. The verb baby to drink is also perfectly irregular than works just the same way as commit. So you might like to practice this one too. We had lunch at the restaurant yesterday. Kami mosh in a restaurant day. Kami most stout and yet you drank a lot of beer yesterday. They risked their mood. Maybe stem Murcia Theravada yet. Now then the verb to say or to tell defeat presents a lot of irregular forms. It may be simpler in the case of death in to consider the infinitive form, the Thiele, as irregular, as nearly all the conjugated forms take an I in the stem rather than the E, The theme of the infinitive. Notice that we've added the other form of the present tense, progressive, estoy haciendo, meaning, I am saying right now our app our estoy haciendo. How Aurora is task D30 and loan. I'd like you to repeat each conjugation after me, starting this time with godaddy everyday. So let's go to the present tense with Claudia. Galleria Diego, everyday, I say our estoy haciendo. Dk. Caldaria, the, thess. Our nice D3. D3 stays. Java-based. Detroit. My Neon and erase. Galleria, defend our eyes. Dan did the Endo. I declare on yeah. And ITU manana Duran. So as I said, spend plenty of time on this until you've really mastered all of these forms. I said it. I said it to her. In other words, I told her I told Jessica. Hello. Jessica. Jessica. I have said it. I've told Jessica. Jessica. Jessica. I've already told Jessica three times. Jessica Jessica Tracy basis. Did you tell him Did you tell power law power law seller the key step out?
