A Powerful Goddess: The memory was considered so important in Asian times that the Greeks had a special goddess off memory named name a scene. It was her name, from which was derived to current word Nemo. Knicks used to describe memory techniques such as those who were about to learn in the next lessons. Nima Zien, whose name means House of the Moon, was one of the most powerful goddesses of the Olympus. Like the moon, the memory has also unsuspected depths and mysteries. It was believed that Nemazee known everything past, present and future. She's the memory that is the basis off all life and creativity. Perhaps she was the most beautiful goddess of the Olympus, says sues. Well known for seducing. Many women spend with her Nike and second nights without any shot. I more than any goddess or mortal from this combination off energy and memory was born the inspiration. The nine muses who ruled over love, poetry, epic poetry, hems, dance comedy, trying to the music history in astronomy and offered inspiration in those subjects. The Asian Greeks believed that when one tied and crossed into the underworld, one would be given a choice with it to drink from the river left thing where you would forget all the pains and terrors of your previous life and with them the lessons they brought or whether to drink from name scenes, Spring of memory. Does it choose to forget how to be reborn to return to Earth, to learn the lessons they need it? Those who have chosen to remember were admitted to the Elysian Fields, where they would have spent eternity and comfort and peace. Limousine invented many things, conducting to the help off men's memory. She's sometimes seen as the goddess of words in language as she invented them. She's also the patron of poets and teachers and the goddess off site and writing this ball for goddess know the cure for forgetfulness. Nima Scene had a magic mirror that let us see even further back far beyond our own memories and into the distant past. In effect, would get to look backwards into the lives and times of our ancestors and their companions . Nima scene is generally represented with her hand under chin. Those who adopt disposition in there POTUS pay homage to this powerful goddess 5. 1.2. An Ancient Detective Story: lettin say's that an Asian Greek poet, Simin Ideas of CEOs, was the inventor off the method of loci, where large amounts of data can be remembered in order by placing images that represent the data into mental locations or journeys. One of the most admired lyric poets of Greece, in a true star of his times, Semen Itis, was called the Honey Tongue Poet. He particularly used beautiful imaginary in this poems and was the first to equate the methods of poetry with those of painting. This is an important discovery for the art of memory, which is also based on images. The invitation detective story of how Semin Itis invented the art of memory is told by Cicero in his written dialogue. The oratory when he's discussing memory as one of the five parts of rhetorics, the poet Simin Eyes was hired by the noble Scopus to attend a formal bank it ASAP a performer singing a poem, a praise of his host, Symon itis, in addition to what ideology in honor of his host, including in the pool, appraised the legendary brothers Castor and Pollex. After the performance, Scopus became angry and informed the poet that he would only get half of the agreed upon fee. The other half he should get from the do between gods. At that point, semen ideas was called out of the feast hall deceit to visitors who had arrived and were asking for him. Symon itis went outside in. Seconds later, the building came crushing down upon the guest and host. The banquet hall was so badly destroyed the none of the diners could be recognized minutes the ruins. It was impossible to identify anyone. The relatives of the dead arrived and wept when they were unable to recognize her loved ones, lost among all those bodies crushed in this feared. But semen itis realized it could see with this mind sigh and accept picture of the diners guest of their seats. He was able to remember the exact location of every guest of the bank it by using the principles of the science of memory, he realized that orderly arrangement is essential for good memory. Ziman itis invention of the art of memory rested not only on his discovery of the importance off order for memory, but also on the discovery that the sense of sight is the strongest off all the senses. Historians claimed that this was the birth of the system of memory loci and of the art of memory. Greek orators placed elements other stories at certain places along a mental route in order to recall the story in the right order. From then on, Asian, Greek and Roman orators used this technique in order to learn their speeches by putting the images of the story along the route for later mental recollection in the same order. By using this method, the elder Sinica, a teacher off birth Orrick good repeat 2000 names in the order in which they have been given, and when a class off 200 students arm or spoke each in turn a line of poetry, he could recite all the lions in reverse order, beginning from the less one set and going right back at the first. It has been said that the prices in the first place in the second blaze and the like originated in this Asian practice that associate memories with various physical places 6. 1.3. The Art of Memory: after more than 200 years after semen itis degrade philosopher and scientist artist, Total developed the first scientific approach to starting memory. Besides proposing laws for how memory works, he also described the importance of usage mental imaginary, along with experience and observation, all of which are key aides for remembering anything. Aristotle believes that memories are like some toenails off the real things. The bring stores and processes this thumbnails. These are the off of it with which it works. What it comes to remembering this thumbnails name contest. Mus are functioning US. Short cuts to the real things. An unknown teacher off rhetorically room compiled Cherica 86 82 before Christ I useful textbook for his students, containing all techniques known at the time to improve and perfect memory. The book, called Rhetorical at Perineum, became a classic and which must use in the Middle Ages by religious orders for reading and meditating upon the Bible, being part off the education of monks in monasteries to help them retain the abstract notions. There are two kinds of memory, the only one writer says one natural, the other artificial, the natural memories that which is engraved in our minds. Born simultaneously with thought, the artificial memory is a memory, strengthen it or confirmed by training. Thus memory improvement means straining the artificial memory. The art of memory is like an inner writing. Doesn't know the letters of the off of it came right down what is dictated to them and read out what they have written. Likewise, does we have learned Nemo? Knicks can city places what they have heard and delivery from memory during this period? The art of memory was very appreciated. A science close to magic. This art has attracted and still attracts many people because, like any magic, it is a source of power. Mental images called by this art fantasies was the vocabulary by which the brain were understood. Any message from outside perceived through the senses. The art of memory is a technique for the manipulation of phantasms, which rest on the artist totally in principle of the absolute precedence of the images over speech, some of trying to compile grammar books for these fantasies and even organized serious fantasy games. Imaginary theaters. One of the most important representatives of these art in the Middle Ages was Giordano Bruno, a scientist a magician who was sperm as a heretic by the Inquisition. In his book On the Shadow of Ideas, published in 15 82 Giordano Bruno promised that this art will help not only the memory but also the power's off. The sole memory training for Bruno was the key to spiritual enlightenment. The demonic system invented by Giordano Bruno, consists of a series of imaginary rotating memory wheels and was extremely complicated trying to put the whole universe in order. The count of the system was generated irritating external wheels divided up into 150 images around the central wheel like a kaleidoscope and combining the different images into new associations. This principle of combining 23 or more images into memorable associations was sticking up a mortar memorization systems like the Dominic system and the person action object system. Giordano Bruno spent some time in London, where he acquire such a reputation regarding the ability of memory that King Henry third sent to be called to be convinced that the memory that it had and that it practice was natural or magical. King was persuaded himself that you're done of Bruno wasn't using magic to retain huge amounts of information but scientific techniques based on the principles of new mown ICS. In modern times, this art seems a rather unimportant branch of the human activity. But in the ages, before printing a train, memory was an important weapon for social success to ensure by means of an infallible memory advantage over others. 7. 1.4. From Art to Science: The importance of the art of memory has steadily decreased since the 16th century, when Protestants and reactionary Catholics, unlike work to eradicate pagan influence and the loss of visual imaginary. Of the Renna sounds. However, the art of memory has not completely disappeared but gradually evolved into a scientific method. It eventually came to be defined primarily as a part of the electrics and was assimilated in the 17th century by Francis Bacon and Renee. The card into the curriculum of logic, where it survives to this day as a necessary foundation for the teaching off argument. During this period, another important memorization technique, which is now called the major system, was invented. It was a more practical and simpler method than the medieval art of memory. The major system was created by Stanislas Mink on West Hein in the mid 17th century, or in the opinion of others, by a French mathematician and astronomer named Pierre Harry Goan, then modified in the early 18th century by an Englishman, Dr Richard Grey. This technique that it's nothing more than a simple code to convert numbers into frenetic sounds has been used and continually improved upon for more than 300 years. Even today, the major system, which I will present in detail later in discourse, is a commonly used method, both in memory competitions. I mean daily activities involving memorizing numbers or dates. Research on memory has been central to psychology since its inception as a scientific field in late 19th century. In the meat 18 eighties, the young German philosopher Herman, having house developed the first scientific approach to studying memory, hated experiments using list off nonsense syllables and then associating them with meaningful words. Some of these fighting's from its work, such as the concept of the learning curve and forgetting curve on misclassification of the three distinct types of memory, sensory, short term and long term remain relevant. To this day, one of the most famous cases in the field of scientific study of memory was dead of a man who could not forget a man whose memory was virtually unlimited. In April afternoon, in 1920 line, a timid looking man walked into the office off the Russian newer psychologist Alexander Luria and asked to have his memory tested. This man named Solomon Radyshevsky would become known in the psychologically Chirchir s. He had been sent by his boss, a section editor at a Moscow newspaper Where s was a reporter. The editor had noted that after the morning meeting, he held with the reporters, as was able to recall, Atlantic structures have been given without having taken any notes. Professor Luria started testing, asked memory. His first instinct was to find the limits off s ability Loria red list of numbers and words . But no matter how long the list has succeeded in, repeated it back. This was startling because the classic research on memory, by having house have found that the ability to recall a list the clients as a list grows longer, even more remarkably. When Loria retested, ask more than 15 years later, he found those numbers and words still preserved in S s memory. I simply had to admit that the capacity of his memory has no distant limits. Road Luria. Well, as might seem the perfect case of a naturally superior memory, Luria discovered that he employed a technique very much like the method of loci found the most memory proven books. Further testing revealed that s was unusually none of the respect he experienced synesthesia. The translation of information from one sense to another. A person with synesthesia sometimes here's colors or sees musical tunes. Luria subject received vivid visual images in reaction to speech sounds. If he was asked to memorize a word, he would not only hear it, but they would also see a collar. On some occasions, he would also experience a taste in his mouth and a feeling open skin later on. When he was asked to repeat the word, he has a number of triggers to remind him. Here we have a clue to SS extraordinary memory ability. Words suggested images for him naturally and easily. This images became case to his memory. Luria noted that SS visual images were not like those off ordinary people. They were exceptionally vivid and stable, and he was able to turn away from them and returned to them of whale do retrieve information. Therefore, when given a series of items to memorize, S could easily generate images and distribute them on a mental street or other familiar scene. However, having such vivid and accurate memory did have its problems as was unable to block unwanted memories also had a terrible memory for faces because he memorized them. So exactly people's faces change with time, mood and expression, as had difficulty recognizing faces because they look so different for him from the ones he had completely memorized in the past. He was not able to read poetry or fiction. Eastleigh as each word or phrase with blossom into an intense visualization that might be contradicted by the next one as a special logical memory, interfere with his ability, jewel of a regular job, enjoy literature or even similar to think in the abstract without being distracted by sensory association. Finally asked, gave up his journalism career and became a professional pneumonias, even regular shows to paying audiences. Despite his success, he never had great satisfaction, is have performer and gave it up after a while. He then became a taxi driver in Moscow. But this life faded into obscurity afterward. Aside from a possible death date in 1958 there seems to be little else available. You can find more about this fascinating case by reading Alexander Lewis book The Mind of Anemone ist a little book about a vast memory beyond the scientific aspects of Laureus Famous case study of extraordinary memory. It's yours out to be less about perfect recall and more about the fact that anyone can develop their memory capacity by a blind, easy to learn techniques based on a few scientific observations like the importance off order for the memory. As I use, a technique similar with a method of loci involving various senses can strengthen the memory as a synesthesia. Did this naturally the importance of visualization by creating impact mental images using collar motion size and exaggeration, as was able to great, exceptionally vivid and stable mental images. This extreme case is nothing but a combination between a neurological disorder that leads to an acceptance abated imagination, Sina's easier and the empirical discovery by S of memory techniques that are now being studied in classified, followed by a consistent practice. Therefore, memory improvement is a skill that we can all practice if we learn the necessary techniques , then practice it consistently. Despite its apparent advantage is a memory that cannot forget. Anything is not desirable. The rather occurs for the one who possesses it. The ability to remember anything, though, does not indicate that you will remember what matters. This relentless capacity for absolute and continues recollection excludes all possibility of thought for thinking requires space English to forget, to select, to lead and to isolate what is significant. If you cannot discard any item from the memory store, you cannot abstract and dinner relies. But without abstraction and generalization, there can be no thought. Memory techniques are tools that you can use consciously for improving your life. Your goal is not to create a memory that retains all unimportant details. This techniques should help you to apply a selective memory of the important things. Otherwise you will become just a recording device. 8. 1.5. From Science to Mind Sport: after psychologists have demonstrated that everyone can improve their memory if they want to. Memory Bruton. It became a well studied field mawr, and more people became aware off the possibilities of memory training, and this activity has become very popular. Eventually, memory Improvement formally became a sport since 1991 created by the inventor off mind maps and expert dementia literacy. Tony was n and chess Grandmaster Raymond Keene, OBE, and features national and international memory competitions is then new memory improvement techniques have been discovered and classified. Today, memory improvement is a hobby, widely a spread all over the world, and hundreds of competitions are healthy. Yearly memory is one of the five learning mind sports which are speed reading my cue to relativity, mind mapping and memory. All of them are competitive sports and collectively that can help anyone to become better in their studies or in their work. The most important memory competition, the World Memory Championship, has taken place annually since 1991. The title off World memory champion, contested annually, remains the supreme means of recognition of memory. Athletes and thousands of people train for years to participate in this competition. The 10 disciplines which formed the basis of the first competition are largely unchanged today, and I've been adopted worldwide as the basis for competitive memory competitions for their own. In this course, you will discover what this 10 disciplines are and how you can prepare for a world memory championships if this will become your goals someday. The Vision of the World Memories Boards Council is to put memory skills training and mental literacy skills at the heart of the education system worn white and to make learning mentally jerseys, skills and memory techniques accessible to all memory proof. Minutes now popularized through hundreds of books, courses, blocks and other materials ranging from classical books written by pioneers such as Tony Bazin, Dominica, Brian or Harry Lorraine to more recent books like Joshua Force bestseller Moonwalking with Einstein. The Art and Science of Remembering Everything. If you're just at the beginning of your journey to memory improvement, you need to read this book, which will give you the motivation to continue. This captivating book begins with a young journalist to go out on an interview, gets to thinking distractedly about super lattice off strength and intellect, goes home again, searches Google for the cleverest human and discovered, if not the smartest person in the world, at least some off the freakish genius who can memorize 1528 rand of digits in one hour and any poem handed to him. It ends with forward but cannot remember where he put his car keys in the finals of the U. S. A. Memory championship. After just one year off memory training, I highly recommend you to read this book not only because it is a great book, but because it encouraged you to follow your path to become a mental athlete through my block, the Nimmo Bay, and through the courses I've created I myself trying to help you understand what memory proof meant Isabel. And see for yourself just how simple and handed escuelas this scores can help you achieve amazing results with your memory right now, regardless of your education, H or other condition. Ings. Austria DIS Journey through the history of memory dream from the Asian goddess of memory to the world memory champions. Let's move on to the next session of this course. You will learn how memory works and what the memories look like in our brains 9. 2.1. How Memory works: memory doesn't exist in the same way our body parts do. Memory is not concentrated in one single location, but a fluid process that spread throughout various areas of the brain. It defines us as individuals and also enable us to manage our daily problems. In fact, our memory makes us who we are, but only when memory starts to fail us that we realize how central it is to our life. Memory information is a sequential operation when information processing moves from the present sensory memory, it a short term memory and eventually moves into long term memory. What we usually think of as memory in day to the usage is actually long term memory. Well. There are also important in short term and sensory memory processes, which must be worked through before a long term memory can be established. The different types of memory each have their own particular mode off operation. But the old cooperate in the process of memorization and can be seen as three necessary steps in forming a lasting memory. Let's take a quick look at how memory works. Sensory memory is an ultra short term memory, and the case very quickly after the perception of an item. It acts as a kind of buffer for stimuli received through the five senses, which are retained accurately but very briefly. It last for a settled period, and neither is regularly replaced by new data. As our senses work continuously, it lasts for such a short time no longer than a second. That is often considered part of the process of perception, but it nevertheless represents an essential step for storing information in short term memory. Then the information passes into the short term memory, where it is held for 10 to 20 seconds. It works like a traffic light intersection. When you are reading a sentence, your short term memory stores the beginning of the sentence while you are reading the rest of it so that you can comprehend the whole. When you're trying to solve a simple mathematical problem in your mind, you need to do for some calculations before reaching the solution. This calculations are stored temporarily in the working memory. Short term memory is also known as the working memory, and it's essential when we are thinking it holds the information you are currently thinking about for between 10 and 20 seconds and usually retains no more than about seven pieces off information at once. Here in the short term, memory is a starting point for every memory technique. By observation, attention and repetition, the information can become and unforgettable. Long term memory information that has been well consolidated is stored in the long term memory. Anything that you remember that took place more than a couple of minutes ago is stored in long term memory. Once a memory is stored in long term memory, ITC unless anywhere from a few minutes to the rest of your life. In contrast with the two previous memory types, this type has no capacity limitations. You can get a limited new knowledge and skills throughout your life. Memories such as the stories you read in childhood playing football and a day that you got married are all set in the long term memory. What do memories look like? Unlike physical objects that brings memory is not a feeling cabinet that holds so many documents. But rather memory is a series of nerve pathways and connections that are either successfully made. This is what memory looks like. Each memory has a unique trace form from connections between neurons. The strength of the trees determines district of your memory. You can use memory training techniques to create more connections and thoughts. Strengthen the trace. What is the role of forgetting in the memorization process? Which into think of forgetting that's the enemy to learning? But the science of learning tells that forgetting is actually one of the best tools we have for remembering these use. Off information causes memory traces to slowly eradicate with time, and this process is called fading. Fading occurs in all stages off the memorization process more rapidly in the sensory memory , and it is short term memory as new information is coming in, but also in the long term memory where the fading process is slower. Imagine if you created a brain that could remember every call everything. When this amazing brain was trying to remember where you parked your car, it would immediately bring to mind all the car parks had ever seen, which would be completely useless. To make your brain quicker and more useful in the real world, you have to build in some system for discounted old and useless information. In fact, we all have a discounted system we call it forgetting. That's why forgetting helps you learn as less relevant information becomes inaccessible were naturally left with the information that is more important to our daily survival. The German psychologist Hermann, having House who pioneered the experimental study of memory, first identified the forgetting curve. Having house discovered that the human brain will forget information, he has learned. If that information is not put into practice, the longer we wait to apply acquire knowledge, the less we remember it. Based on the ebbing house, forgetting curve learners will have forgotten an average of 90% of what they have learned within the first month. However, the nature of the subject matter the learners, background, the learners strength of memory in a variety of other factors will often have a significant impact upon the rate of forgetfulness. The forgetting curve shows how information or knowledge stored within the brain is lost over time. If the individual makes no attempt to retain, it are related. Concept is a strength off memory, which refers to the durability that memory traces in the brain. The stronger the memory, the longer a person can recall it for. In other words, if we can reinforce learning through well space revisions. We can beat the forgetting curve. Therefore, the best strategy to be the forgotten curve is to strengthen memories from their formacion by using memory techniques and to review them periodically. Why improve your memory? Memory can fail temporarily because of stress or tiredness, both of which can effect concentration by sending the objective of improving memory and by taking action to reach it, you will embark on a journey of self discovery enhancing your memories. Camp abilities will boost your confidence. Expand your creativity and improve your performance in day to day life at work, study and play Studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between high levels of intelligence. Mr By Intelligence Cordant I Q and A train memory, in other words, and individuals can be raised by improving memory because I Q tests are based on skills that can be developed by memory training Confidence. Your memory will improve your social skills, your ex and performance and will give a boost Your career. The conscious process through which you will be able to create unforgettable memories involved several faces. The first step is observation, which implies a clear mental picture of what is seen in all its detail. Then you need to create a memorable mental image of the observed object. You could do this by associated the object with an already familiar mental picture. The starting point, the ignition of a train memory. This association, I mean the Conscious and Control Association recall, is the final stage of memory process. People can only accept that you have a good memory based on the quality of your recall recall, as the stage of memory process implies, recall at will. In the next lesson, I will present you in detail this steps and you will see how memory techniques are involved in this process. 10. 2.2. Memory formation process: when we actually want to learn something, it is long term memories we are interested in. So how are day for and how can we strengthen our memories by applying the memory training techniques? The first step of the memory is observation through the five senses of sight, smell, hearing touch and taste. The brain receives messages after many. At the same time, the senses are the brains language, the environment, human brain thinks in pictures or fantasies. These are the brain self a bit. Therefore, the sense off site is probably most important for the memory because it helps to create mental images directly. Without much prior processing, the sites provide to the brain already created images, which it only has to store them. The other four senses requires specific processing off perceptions for them to become mental images. Usually, there are only associated with the mental images that are already created through site. Although all the five senses are exposed to a large amount of raw information on Lee, some of them transformed into mental images and they serve the once June we pay attention. Attention is the one that clarify in detail the images that they can be processed by the brain. This is the moment when the brain collects the information and creates the memories. From this moment starts the memory improvement process. If at this moment we apply an affective memory system, that remembering process will be much easier. The purpose of attention is getting a clear mental picture of what it seemed with all its details, my focus and fixing the object, the interest place an essential role in painting enough attention. If you care, you remember your memory in a particular area is directly proportional to the interest you have in it. Often you are forced to give your interest on a particular topic, and this could be developed by voluntarily attention bestowed and held upon an object. Besides interest, comprehension of previous knowledge about subjects play an important role in maintaining attention. The more deeply you grass, what you observe, the more easily and the more in detail it will remain in your memory. The more you know on a certain subject, the more easily you can memorize everything you pertinent. Do it. If you already have a structure of knowledge on which to hang the new information, the memorization process will be much easier after paying attention and observing this subject in detail, you can move on to the next step, which is association. From this moment on, to create unforgettable memories in our brains must begin to apply the memory techniques. The secret of a train memory are the conscious and control associations. A mental athlete knows how to consciously create this mental associations so that that created mental images are extremely memorable. Association means binding together off do things and create Elin Hook there, which one of them will bring to the light of the other from the depths of memory. We usually remember one thing because we're reminded of it by another thing. In order to remember any new thing, it must be associated to something we already know or already remember. The association can be made on Lee between two things and no more. One of these things is already known, and it's easy to remember. It will attract the memory of the other thing we just knew. For the brain, the association's makes a reminder connection After the memory storage of the association, it will be hard not to think about those two things in an associative way. Visualisation plays an important role in this process. If something can be visualized, it can be easily remembered. The final test of memory is the process off recall. The crux of recall is one should be able to recall any information exactly as and when it is required. There are three main types of recall. Free recall. Kid recall in serial recall. It is important to understand this times because each memory technique is based on a certain type of recall. Free recall described the process in which a person is given a list of items to be remembered, and then it's tested by being asked to recall them in any order. Psychologist discovered that related items did to be clustered together by category. Stewart recall. For example, suppose the subject has to memorize this list, which contains too obvious categories of items. Blue Obama, Carter, Yellow, Reagan Green. After a retention interval of 10 minutes, the subject might recall the items as follows. Blue, yellow greed, Obama, Carter Regan. This is called clustering, and it seems to occur automatically whether or not subjects are aware they are doing it. In this case, the subject created one cluster of president names one closer off color names. This is how your memory works when it comes to random memorization. But what happens with the storage was done in an organized way. If you'd, Rico refers to retrieving information from long term memory using eighths or keys with soaring items. By linking the optics with each other, you'll get a cued recall instead of trying to remember the list randomly fueling the objects in pairs. When you need to recall a night him, the pair will help you to remember it. This type of recall underlined a method of link which you will learn later in this course. Serial recall is the ability to recall items or events in the order in which they occurred as you'll see in the scores. One of the methods used by all memory experts is the method of loci, which allowed to recall a list off items in order. This method is based on the serial recall time after seeing the steps of an effective memorization and where we will apply that memory methods in the next lesson, we will see the principles on which memory training is based 11. 2.3. Principles of Memory Improvement: Why do we remember certain things? But forget others? Your memory can be trained just like any other human faculty. By learning and applying the correct techniques, you can teach your memory to do anything you choose. But as in any human activity there, good habits that keeps us on the right track. And they're about habits the distracters from reaching our rules. Let's see what this bad habits are. One lack of confidence. If you don't believe in your memory capacity, there is no way in which you can improve your memory. Belief has a magical effect. This is hard for many to see. Yet it is a timeless principle that all high achievers understand and practice on a consistent basis. From now on, start believing in your own memory capacity effect. You have an excellent memory, eagerly waiting on Lee to serve you to lack of interest. Our memory is interest driven. The brain tends to remember what is interesting and forget what is not so interesting. Converge innately, not only important things that we must do in our lives are really that interesting. It's easy to lose interest. Whether you dislike a certain subject, feel overwhelmed by the work. What are just bored? Injured glasses? When you find a way to enjoy what you're studying, though, you'll be more motivated to do well in your work and might even have fun doing it. Three. Use it or lose it. The lesser A person uses his brain, the wars his memory becomes. People get mentally out of shape with a stuffed, challenging their minds. This happens when they offer habitual solutions rather than purposely thought, or, if they confined her, think into a small range of interest. Remember that mental fitness, your ability to concentrate too recent to visualize, to imagine, to make positions, to solve problems and to think creatively depends greatly on how well and how often you exercise your mind. From today, whenever you find yourself being attacked by this three bed habits fight back. It's easy. Now. Let's see the memory improvement principles that make some images more memorable than others. And how can we apply this concepts to improve in memory? One. The bone restores effect. These memory phenomenon was identified by the German psychologist Hedwig von Breast, or if in 1933 she conducted a set of memory experiments around isolated a distinct if items concluding that an isolated item in a list of otherwise similar items would be better remembered than an item in the same relative position in at least where all items were similar. In other words, things that stand out from there appears our more memorable. An object that is notably different from the rest in STAIs color or other basic characteristics will be more readily recall than the others because their attention is usually captured by salient, novel, surprising or distinctive stimuli. Being different is not better nor wars, but different. It's memorable in marketing. Advertisers make much use of this principle. The whole idea is to get him marketing your product to stand out the cans, competitors products. So if you want to remember something, make it stand out. You can be very creative in this too Pollyanna principle. According to this principle, you will recall pleasant information more accurately and more quickly whether you are trying to remember what you have perceived, what someone has said, a decision you have made or other times off information. If it's more pleasant to remember, you will remember better. Studies show that people tend to repress or suppress their implicit memories and experiences. So keep in mind this principle in your memory improvement activities. Three. Strong first impression. Get into the habit of fixing a clear and strong impression from the first. Your first impression must be strong and firm enough to serve as a basis for subsequent ones. Otherwise, each time you revive an impression, it will not include details. A minute in the 1st 1 four concentrated attention if, to the thing that you wished your memorized as great a degree of concentrated attention, it's possible we have explained the reason for this advice earlier in the scores. Paying attention may be the most powerful but overlooked way to improve your memory. Why? Because you can remember what you never processed in the first place. Concentrated attention needs to hold your attention without tension. Five. Put order in your images. Your mind in a structured and order frame were to put your associative images in order to function well. Your memory needs order and sequence. This helps it to categorize Instructor thinks in such a way as to make them more easily accessible into recall face. The ultimate is is it to recite in this regular order and difficult in the reverse order for maximum efficiency and minimal loss of information. It is vital to organize the information you receive breaking down or arranging the information into a simple batter. It's a first step towards organizing it. To create this order framework, you can use sequences such as numbers or various places that you know remember techniques are based on such order structures. Six. Use various tricks to make the mental images Association on absurd or hilarious show. We tend to forget the simple, mundane, everyday ordinary thing. But we rarely forget the unique ridiculous, the violent, the unusual, the absurd, the extraordinary MiG your associations. Unusual, ridiculous. Impossible. And they'll stick like glue. Apply Harry Lorraine's slap in the face principle. If you walked out of your office and a few drops off rain splatter on to you, you would quickly forget it ever happened. If, however, buckets of water poured over your head soaking you, you will probably remember the event and probably recounted in detail for years. Seven. Put yourself in the story. You will remember more information if you try to relate that information to yourself by putting yourself in the story created from pneumonic images. You somehow trick your brain into believe in that the experiences actually happened to you . Eight. Create impact mental images. The more vividly you can imagine, the more easily you will remember. You can strengthen your mental images by using color motion interaction, exaggeration and stranger nous. Use color, color attracts, and whatever attracts the brain is remembered with ease. And for a long time, the more colors you use, your mental images and the more vivid they are, the better use in color alone can improve your memory by as much as 50%. Use motion A. Something responsible tried to make your mental images move. Moving objects are usually remembered better than still wants. Make them in direct in. You can make things more memorable by crushing or sticking them together by putting them on top or inside of each other, or what placing them in new situations. Size does matter. We tend to forget smaller events soon because they made on Li little or no impact. In order that you remember your associations better, you have to introduce the elements of fitness into those associations. The more gigantic you can make the object in your mind, the more vivid it's image will be strange. It's memorable. Normal is boring. Therefore, we tend to forget normal things easily. We have to add the element of strangeness while you associate things in order to remember for a long time, let us say you're watching a film about horses after a few minutes. If a real horse jumps out of the TV, I'm sure you will never be able to forget that ever. I know the skin of a thing never happens to real life. But if it did happen, you will never forget that nine evolved on your senses. In the memorization process, the more you can evolve all your senses tasting, touching, smelling scene and hearing aid your memory image, the more you will remember it, you can strengthen your memory by involving various senses. I recall in the information to relate to data an impression received through more senses is stronger. It's one received through but one of these generals. For example, this is a fruit little known outside of its native region of Brazil, named Djibouti Comma, you probably haven't heard off at this point is just award without meaning for you imagine that you have this fruit in your hands, you can see it, smell it, feel it. Tasted like you have a clear image of the object that you have to memorize. The word deputy comma has just been associated with an image. 10. The rule off previous knowledge connect new data to information you already remember whether it's new material that builds some previous knowledge or something. A simple as an address of someone who lives on the street. When you already know someone, the more you know on a surgeon's subject, the more easily you can memorize everything new pertaining. Do it. If you're already have a structure of knowledge on which to hang the new information, the memory spatial process will be much easier. 11 persist in learning the memory improvement techniques. Memory techniques can be somewhat complicated until you learn them. That's true, like driving or using a computer. Once you learned a wise and house, you never really need to think much about them after that. Once the memory techniques are imprinted in your brain, they become a natural process. 12. Use your memory and place confidence in it. One of the important things in the cultivation of the memory is the actual use of it. Don't allow your memory to atrophy, begin to trust it a little, and then more and then still more and it will rise to the occasion. 12. 3.1. The Memory Factors: What does a healthy memory lifestyle mean? May factors contribute to your brain and memory health. Some things like genetic predisposition to diseases and H are beyond your control. But many lifestyle choices can have a profound impact on your memory. Numerous studies indicate a direct link between the following factors and the people who maintain their mental abilities. Over time, they are more mentally active by challenging their minds to learn new things. They are more physically act and getting enough sleep. They eat a balanced diet low in saturated and transfats, limiting alcohol to one drink a day. They have a good social connections and maintain a sense of effectiveness in the world around them. And generally, due to dis factors, they feel good about themselves embracing the strategies presented in the next lessons. McGee, Hardy. Boost your memory, help you keep mentally healthy and ultimately even make yourself smarter. In the next lessons, we will explore more come of factors which influence memory influence can be in a detracting way as well as positive. In this section, I divided the healthy memory lifestyle in three main areas, for which we will focus our attention in the next lessons. First deduce of a healthy memory. Second, the don't off a healthy memory effort dedicated to the memory supplements and new tropics. I think each of these areas is just as important for your memory. You don't need an expensive prescription medication or any medical procedure and all to push your brain and your memory. You simply must keep several healthy memory factors under control. Here is where you need to put your attention in order to maintain a healthy memory lifestyle. One. Nutrition There's an entire new field of study called nutritional nearest sciences that recognizes the impact of what we eat, ordering on the function of the human brain. In the next lesson, we'll see what are the best choices we can make. To have an efficient memory to physical activity is the most potent. Bring booster of all. It is guaranteed to enhance the very structure of your brain, improve your memory, uplift your mood, protect against stroke and decreases your risk of Alzheimer's disease. Three. Mental stimulation. Challenging your brain To learn you thinks is another important way to prevent memory loss . He might involve learning a foreign language, an instrument or a computer program for example, it doesn't matter if you're successful. Just the act of drying will build extra brain capacity, something scientists call cognitive reserve. Four memory supplements and the tropics. If you ever in trouble incorporating all of the brain healthy foods that I will present you into your diet, but you may need to consider nutritional supplements for their on. In this course, you will find a lot of information about memory supplements and new tropics. You'll be formed a clearer picture off which substances and products are really offering them beneficial enhancements that you have been seeking. Five general health factors Certain health conditions that can impair cognitive skills includes diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, depression, hypothyroidism and high LDL cholesterol. If you have any of this health issues, you can help protect your memory by following your doctor's advice carefully. Six. Let's leave. Getting enough sleep is critical for having a good memory, because if you are tired, your memory wouldn't work. A swell during sleep, the brain establishes and reinforces natural pathway stealing memories and learning together consolidates its learning from the day before. Seven. Socialization. Having lots of friends is associated with maintaining mental performance and increasing cognitive reserve when you're young, maintaining friendships seem effortless. But the older you get, the more challenging it can become. According to experts, senior adults who are active and socially engaged often extend their lives and their enjoyment of life by years. Eight. Spirituality Spirituality in the context of a memory lifestyle is broadly defined as an action that helps us slow down, turn inward and read our bodies off. Doctor distress. Being in a good emotional state and mood, avoiding or managing stress can impact our health and memory in a positive way. Each of these areas is necessary to your healthy memory lifestyle, and together they form an integrated whole for you. They need to be understood this one lifestyle and not independent factors. Remember, your goal is to adopt and maintain a proactive memory lifestyle, and this is a process that continues all your life, requiring constant personal review and change. The challenge of the scores is to help you create your own strategy for building new habits that will improve your memory and your brain functioning 13. 3.2. The Do's of a Healthy Memory: In this lesson, you will find general suggestions for a memory lifestyle whose effects have been scientifically proven. But remember that products and information's presented in discourse are provided for informational purposes only was consult with a physician or other health care professional before starting and in nutrition supplementation or exercise regimen. One. Nutrition. What we eat, shapes, destructor and function of our brain, including memory, thoughts and emotions. Recent studies show that foods and drinks we consume not only affect our general body, but can also affect our emotion, thoughts, memory and even our ability to have a healthy brain later in life. If you eat a healthy diet, you will remember more. Nearly everything we eat is converted into glucose and absorbed into the cells of our body for energy. Your brain requires a great deal of energy to function even more so than other organs in your body, says the brain has no capacity to store energy. It continually has to be supplied by fuel from oxygen and blood sugar. Both supply, but the blood stream. The brain uses 20% of your body's oxygen, even though it takes up only 2% of your whole body weight that are six major classes off nurturance founding food, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids that's in oils, vitamins, minerals and water. Healthy human brain relies on having a mixture of nutrients from a variety of foods. Micronutrients, khyber hydrates, protein events and micronutrients. Vitamins and minerals are vital for the human brain to function at all and preferably well throughout life. Carbohydrates, fats and proteins are the three basic micronutrients needed to sustain life, and all provide energy for your body. So what is the best fuel for the brain, fat, protein or carbohydrates? Even though the brain is composed of 60% that it is designed to be fuelled by glucose, the brain accounts for 25% of the total body glucose utilization. Glucose is the human body. Ski resource off energy carbohydrate is broken down into glucose relatively quickly and therefore, as a more pronounced effect on blood sugar levels than either fat or protein. Protein and fat are not directly converted to glucose when digested. The effect on blood glucose is not as direct as eating carbohydrates. We also know that human brain is 60% fat. Indeed, the brain is the fattest part of the body fatty acids are among the most crucial molecules that determine your brains. Integrity and ability to perform our diet provides us a direct pathway to build up the fat in our brains. We have access to foods that contains good fats, those typically found in fatty fish and nuts. This stuff off healthy fats have the brain function more efficiently and are characterized as well. Make a three fatty assets. Bad or unhealthy. Fats are commonly found in fast foods and fried foods, among others. This unhealthy fats can do damage to the brain over time. Consumption off proper fats promotes flexibility in brain cells and efficient transmission of information between cells. How about proteins? The proteins you eat do not go directly into the brain because the brain is protected by a filter. Ah, highly selective, semi permeable membrane called the blood brain barrier. The blood brain barrier excludes from the brain. Many substances, including protein from the foods that you eat. In contrast, other substances, such as glucose, pass freely into the brain, his protein skin of past directly into the brain. Your brain makes its own using the substances that do cross the blood brain barrier, namely amino acids. When you eat a steep your intestinal tract, liver digested breaking the proteins long strings of amino acids into individual amino acids, which circulating your blood like glucose. This amino acids can enter the brain, which then assembles them to make their specific proteins it needs. At this level, it does not make any difference. Your brain. If the source of protein is meat or plants, carbohydrates and proteins are digested differently, so by consuming them together, the body is not able to digest that fits correctly. It was discovered that he sticks starches two hours to digest and protein stick about four hours, but when, either together, he could take up the 13 hours for the food to digest. Luckily, there are foods that are considered neutral, meaning that they can get along with both proteins and their carbohydrates. You eat, for instance, their products with the exception of milk only. Boil all green leafy vegetables, raw or smoked meats, fish knots, all lifts. Avocados, blueberries and herbs are considered neutral. Food micronutrients are different from macronutrients like Aibo hydrates, protein event because they are necessary Onley in very tiny amounts. Lithia, Cronin and sent its methods can be easy to develop and simple to remember. However, they are in this flexible a still association memory techniques they don't allow you to express. Image is a swell and humans thinking images, not words 20. 4.2. The Link System: Link Minks Association, and it's a key concept in memory improvement. Using system is used for memorizing short list of items such as shopping list, in which each item is linked to or associated with the next. Instead of trying to remember the list randomly, you must link the object with each other. The link method is one of the easiest techniques available. It works by killing information to be remembered into images and then linking these images together. You use it by making simple associations between items in a list. Lincoln them with a vivid image containing the items. There are two variants of the link system. The chain link or the war train works by Lincoln, each element of the list with a mental picture of an image that includes two elements in the least that are next to each other. In other words, you link a series of pairs of items like a chain into the store method or the continues link Technique works by creating a continues narrative that links all of the images together into a story. This method used the Lincoln of the items together with a memorable story featuring them the flow of the story and the strength of the images will give you the queues for a triple in the following lessons. I will percent you indeed to Elise Variants, along with practical examples. But until then, let's see the principles behind which both versions of the link system works. Rules for associations, As you could see in the previous section of the scores, memory works by very clear rules and principles. One of the most important rules for unaffected memorization is known as the bone restaurant effect, according to which things that stand out from their peers. Our more memorable You know, the words. We remember things that stand out. If something stands out for being a different shape, size, collar or in some other ways significantly characteristically different from their other items around it, it becomes easier to recall the key to being better at dealing meth. It is to really use your imagination. If you want to remember something, make it stand out. You can be very creative in this while using the link system, you can strengthen your mental images between the items to be remembered by applying this simple rules. One. Exaggerate your associations. Do move your associations. Three Substitutes your associations for the absurd. The recent This principles work, according to memory experts, is that you use both sites of your brain once you have selected your items. Creature. Oh, mental images. Using this rules, let's compare the link system with a classic method of learning a list by repeating the items over and over to memorize them. Rote learning. Not only is that not fun, it is actually incredibly boring. But using the linguine that can be fun. What you will find with practice is that the process of forming the images starts to come easily, naturally and quickly. In addition, your attention of the list will be much better with a link method compared to the road memorization because of the use of visualization. This has been proven by numerous research studies. Some memory. The link system is most appropriate for remembering shopping list to the list points to remember in a speech, least of instructions, etcetera. As long as your images are clear, there is no way you can make a mistake. You won't remember the least for days, even if you don't practice it, and because the images are what you make them. The link method can be used an infinite number of times for any number off different lists . Learning and using the ling method is quick. Both the chain link and the sentence methods are very simple to learn and to use. Another advantage is that you can combine the link system with other memory techniques, as you will see later in the scores. However, the lingua that has some limitations the verse is that there is no numerical ordering bows we're memorizing and the user Kenneth immediately the term in the numerical position. Often item. It's gonna be solved by bundling numerical markers at the set points in the chain. The second is that the mental images six just for a short period of time, usually about 23 days, after which they begin to fade. If any of the images is for gotten, the entire list may be in danger. The third is the potential for confusing repeated segments of the list come a problem with memorizing list of similar items. This limitation can be resolved either through clustering similar elements of by combining the method with the pack system or the method of loci, which you will learn further in discourse. However, it is undeniable that the link system is one of the most important memory improvement techniques. 21. 4.2.1. The Chain Link Method: the chain link or the war train method works by Lincoln. A series of pairs of items elements in the list that are next to each other like a chain. Here is how you can use this technique. Take the first item on your list and create a visual association between it and the next item perhaps incur minds, mashing them together, putting one on top of the other or such like then move on through the list. Lincoln. It's item with the next, the second and third item, the third and fourth, and so on. At any given time, you will only be focusing on just two items. His method with form an open doubt little engl ist, which will be traverse and will backwards or forwards. Let's give you an example of how to use this method. Here is the 10 items list that you will be able to memorize in sequence in a surprisingly short time. Only boil bananas. Don't food pizza. These bests punch cabbage. Wine camera adds broccoli. The system works by creating visual associations between the 1st 2 items. Then, between the second and third item, the third and fourth and so on. Reedus list and visualize each image very clearly in your mind. You don't get worried about the length of the list. Just make sure that you have a strong association between each pair of words, then to associate olive oil and bananas. Imagine on leave oil, stepping on a banana peel with her right foot, Carson hard to fall down with a big split. Our next items bananas and duck food can believe with the image of a dog wearing a funny banana costume. Do associate doc Food and pizza. Imagine a dog still in a pizza to associate pizza fish. You could see a stinking fish jumping out from a picks a box. This is an example of involving multiple senses in the memorization process, where the smell plays an important role in the recall of mental images to associate Beth that spawned and fish. Imagine SpongeBob looking out of the mirror to officials taking a bath, then linked Beth Bunch and cabbage by imagining SpongeBob play soccer with a cabbage. Next, associates cabbage with wine. Imagine a cabbage hearing some wine bottles to link wine and carrots. Imagine a rabbit jumping out from a bottle of wine and finally link the last you items carrots and broccoli with this funny image off box money. If you have actually seen this nine pairs in your mind's eye, you will have no trouble remembering the 10 items in sequence from olive oil to broccoli. You have laying the first item with 2nd 2nd with 1/3 third with the fourth and so on till the less one. It is as if you have arranged all this items in the form of a train. By doing so, you have insured to the first word will lead us to the 2nd 2nd will remind us of the third and so on till we reach the last compartment off the train. Now imagine during a supermarket with this list in your mind, here is what you put on your shopping cart. Olive oil, bananas, Doc, food, pizza, this Beth sponge cabbage wine, carrot, broccoli 22. 4.2.2. The Story Method: sick of variant of the link system known as the story method or the continues like method works by creating a continuous narrative. The links all of the images together in sequence. Often it's best to feed the association's into a story. Otherwise, by forgetting just one association, you can lose the whole rest of list. This method used a linking of the Aryans together with a memorable story featuring them. The flew off the story, and the strength of the images will give you the queues for retrieval. The story takes on a logic of its own, which reinforces the order of the items because the sequence of their appearance is meaningful to the whole context. When you replay the story following ecologically from once an area to the next, you should recall all the items in the right order. Do. Even if you're not the most creative person in the world, you can use the power of story to help you remember list. It actually brings together two ideas. One of story and one of Lincoln images. Here is a tip from the eight times World memory champion Dominic of Ryan. Using the first person is important here but putting yourself in the story, you somehow trick your brain into believing that the experiences actually happen to you. If you are part of the story, you will have feelings and emotions attached to what happens. Let's view an example on how to use this method for memorizing the shopping list presented in a previous lesson. In this way, besides understanding this method, you will be able to compare the efficiency of the two variance of the link system. Here is our list olive oil, bananas, dark food, pizza, these Beth sponge cabbage wine, coward and broccoli. Now let's create a little story with this product. Imagine yourself in a field and there is a big olive tree in the middle, walking out of the door in the trees of banana, one in pajamas. It's coming out of the door. Defeat the dog to be more memorable. The dunk will be oversized and red. He has a fix. A shape medal on his chest. This big dog just came from fishing, where capture a carp and a bath sponge. Here is Mr Cambage, who holds a bowl of wine, and he's drunk. Next to him. It's Bucks, money bite on a carrot and asking him, What's up, Doc? You need to take a little nap in the shade of a broccoli When you have finished watching this fantasy pause. A listen. Close your eyes and from back through the mental movie you have just completed, then turned to write down the 10 items in order on a piece of paper. Pretty sure you will remember all 10 different and unique pieces of information from this short but powerful little story. When you have seen the story you received already created mental pictures. But when you will apply this method on your own, you need to use your imagination for creating memorable stories. Allow your imagination to create pictures in your head, trying to generate century perceptions such as smells, noises or the villain of objects. Besides list. You can use the story technique for remembering the names of people at a party or at a business meeting, for example, or topics you want to include in a presentation. The method can also be very useful for your studies, helping you memorize with these various unrelated things 23. 4.3. The Loci System: as you have already learned in a previous lesson. The loci method is the oldest technique of memory being invented by the Greek poet Simin Itis in the fifth century before Christ. But how does this technique words to begin with? Let's clear up what we mean by loci. This is Latin word meaning places. It is the floor for the latching word locus, meaning place or location. So Loki means locations pretties Recent The loci method is also called the location method . The loci method is based on the simple fact that any human being must have used several routes in his life over and over again by frequently used in this route. The path and the standing out points of thes Beth gets deeply imprinted in the brain. It means every person is storing in his brain, have asked organized structure, which is lying idle. Then why don't we use this data for enhancing our memory? Each stage of all this routes can be used as a mental peg to hang on some images that helped me form the association's needed for memorization. In this way, the method uses familiar locations to help you memorize important information. The location method is based on two basic components. Off the artificial memory, images and places. Images represent the contents of what you wish to remember. Places are where does images are stored? Images are the new information. You want to learn what places represent information you already have. The idea is to create a path in your mind's eye, made off of places that do you know well and can easily visualize and then populate this places with images representing whatever you want to remember. This technique is based on the fact that it is easier to remember new information that is linked to information you already have. You associate all the words you want to learn with the route markers and combine them into one image. When you want to remember dis worse again, you simply go through the route markers in the same sequence, and all the words appear in your mind side. The scientists have discovered that when the memory athletes memorised information, they use spatial learning strategies. This means that they used the region in their brains, the hippocampus that is especially important for spatial memory. It is the same way that a taxi driver uses his brain to navigate within a large, complex city. The method is also ideally suited to be used for a location you already know well, such as your journey to work in the morning There would you used to get to the front door. When you get up their route to the sea, your parents or a tour around the holiday destination you can select displaces either read your imagination or by actually taking a walk to see them. Just become places that form a logical path as you walk around from start to finish. To use this technique most effectively, it is often best to prepare the route beforehand. In this way, the landmarks are clear in your mind before you try to commit information. Tooth. Um, one of the ways of doing this is to write down all the landmarks that you can recall in order on a piece of paper. This allows you to fix its landmarks as a significant wants to be used in your name. Oh, knicks separating them from others, the Jimmy noticed as you get to know the route even better information of the mental path is off. The greatest importance for the same set off low chicken use again and again for remembering different material, then to associate the particular word item, topic, concept or idea with each location. Make up a image to represent it. Make the image visually excited to help. You better remember the image, the more dramatic even bazaar in walkie. The scene. The better you can remember it was it stops on the journey are firmly fixed in your imagination. You can easily locate items out of order. Did you see the place Columbia association with it, and you will remember the item on your list that you have placed there. The method is especially useful when you want to learn a series of items, from words and names to topics to cover in a speech in a particular order. One advantage of this technique, he said. You could use it to work both backwards and forwards and start anywhere within the route to retrieve information. The loci, manta test variants, the Roman room technique and the journey technique, which will be presented in the next lessons. The principle that both versions work is the same. The difference is a type of mental journey that you do In each case, they're Roman room technique is most effective for a story list off on linked information Well, the journey method is better for storing list off warrior items. Both techniques works with mental roots, which are called memory palaces. A memory palace is a metaphor for any well known place that you're able to easily visualize . Memory palaces don't necessarily have to be palatial or even buildings the Comey routes through a town. Or they can be roots in your favorite computer game that can be real or imaginary smaller, big indoors or outdoors. So as long as there's some orderto links, one place to the next, and so long as they're intimately familiar the same set of load she can be used again and again for remembering different material. The images which we have placed on them for remembering one set of things fade and I faced when we make no further use of them. But the loci remain in the memory and can be used again by placing another set of images for another set of material. If we wish to remember much material, you must equip ourselves with a large number of places. Therefore, I recommend you to create your own collection of roots and memory policies, visit a public garden or go for an interesting wall to look for potential new journeys. You can use your phone to film possible routes, which enables you to review the journey at a later date if need be. This method is considered to be one of the most versatile memory techniques. The power of this technique is so incredible that the best memorize er's of the world used this technique invariably whenever they want to make or break an existing memory record. As you will see, using the loci method really can make many aspects of your life much easier. Besides the fact that you will get better with this technique, you will learn a lot of tips and tricks from the memory experts to help you memorize more effectively 24. 4.3.1. The Roman Room Technique: the first variant of the loci method, known as the Roman Room technique, works by pagan images. Cody for information to know things in this case, two objects in a room. He was holed words to use. A technique. Imagine a room that you know, so just your seat of room, bedroom, office or classroom. Within the room are objects, for example, picture lamb, table, chair and so on. Associate images represented the information you want to remember with the optics in the room. To recall information, simply take a tour around the room in your mind. Visualize in the known objects and their associated images using the room. A room technique involves four steps. Stem one. Prepared a mental route, any familiar path through your room or your house with the final locations in it. We worked for this method. Step to you. Identify the specific storage locations are along your route. You can select displaces, either in your imagination or by actually taking a walk to see them. You speak of places that form a logical bath as you walk around from start to finish, Step three memorized the route. You have to get to know your path so well forwards and backwards that traveling from one stuff to the next will become virtually automatic. It is strongly recommended not to change your stops after you've learned it. Once the roots are high wired into your mind, they provide a track that automatically got you from stage to stage. Step four begin to use it with your new mental path. Remind you are able to associate each item you want to memorize with the locations. It will help you to remember the correct order and can easily be used over and over again for different purposes. The room could be entirely imaginary, so you can have in it every wonderful item that you wish. For example, take a look at this room where you find different objects table lamb photograph, flower, telephone clock armchairs, a fireplace, television, the case and so on. You can use the order of the objects to memorize a list of items like a to do list by making simple associations between items in the list and the objects. Lincoln them with a vivid image, perhaps in her mind, smashing them together, putting one on top of the other or such like they move on through the list Lincoln. Each item with the next object. You just see the place come of your association with it, and you will remember the item on your list that you have placed there. The technique could be expanded by going into more detail and key in the information to be remembered to smaller objects. Alternatively, you can open doors from your room into other rooms and use the optics in them as well as you need them. You can build your extensions to your room in your imagination and feel them with objects that would logically be there. You can use other rooms to store other categories of information. The Roman room technique is most effective for storing. List off only information, while the journey technique is better. For story. List off order items. 25. 4.3.2. The Journey Method: If you wish to remember much material, we must equip ourselves with a large number of places. The journey technique is based on a mental journey through a place you know well. Look, a building or town along the journey. There are specific locations that you always visit in the same order. Using the journey technique involves the same four steps. Step one prepares a journey step to identify the specific storage locations along your route. Step three memorized the route step for begin to use it. Step one prepared a journey this good, for example, but your journey to work in the morning, the route to visit a friend or a tour around a museum or a park. It seems natural to make your first journey a walk through the town or village where you live. His pick up places the form a logical path as you walk around from start to finish. If you already have a collection of mental roots, listen to her instinct to choose the most appropriate journey for this memory job. Once the stops on your journey are firmly fixed in your imagination, you can easily locate items out of order. Do you see the place? Call up your association with it and you will remember the item of your list that you have placed there. You can use the same location more than once if there is a time lapse between the different items you want to remember, particularly if you're going to use a set of completely different items with a sufficient time. Delay your memory from one list. Generally want proactively interfere with your memory of the next set off items. Step. Do identify the specific storage locations along your route. You can select this places either in your imagination or by actually taking a walk to see them. You speak of places that form a logical path as you walk around from start to finish. One of the ways of doing this is to write down all the landmarks that you came recall in order on a piece of paper. Your roots shooting me too short. They should have at least 50 locations if the number of locations become stew greed. You may have trouble remembering all of them. It's so try combining two or three items together at one location. It encourages problem solving by allowing you to see new created pathways, and it's easy to read and to remember. It is often created around a single concept drone as an image in the center of a blank page to which associated representations of ideas such as images, words and parts of words are added. Major ideas are connected directly to the central concept, and other ideas branch out from those. The elements of a mind map are actually quite simple. There is always a central idea stemming from the central idea are usually various branches would let two other notes or topics. These branches are usually represented with relationship arrows lead into the other topics . The first year of topics coming out off the central topic are called main topics, and each of these can have multiple sub topics. Each of these branches can lead into multiple main topics and sub toppings. However, there is never more than one central topic or idea. All of the main topics, in essence, should define the main topic. In other words, if you added them together, each of the main topics should describe the central topic in four. At the very least, the main topics should be put together in such a way that you would be able to tell what the central topic is just by reading the main topics. The same can be said about soup topics in relation to the main topics. As a mind map, er you will begin to facility the same thought processes that were used by the greatest creative thinkers in history. All this creative geniuses used a powerful language of images to organize, develop and remember their thoughts, and they used their imaginations fully. It was, Einstein has said imagination is more important than knowledge, and Einstein was correct because human brain thinks in pictures or fantasies. These are the brain self of it. How to mind map. Here is an example of a mind map created by Tony Bazan percent in the memory principles related to the subject of our course. All mind maps have some things in common. They all use color. They will have a natural structure that radiates from the center and the all use lines, symbols, words and images, according to a set of simple, basic natural and brain friendly rules with a mind map, a long list of boring information could be turned into a colorful, memorable, highly organized diagram that works in line with your brain's natural way of doing things, Tony. But sound suggests the following guidelines for creating mind maps. One. Start in the center of a blank page during sideways. Why? Because starting in the centre gives your brain freedom to spread out in all directions and to express it sells more freely and naturally use an image or picture for your central idea . Why? Because an image is worth 1000 words and healthy use your imagination. The central image it's more interesting, gives you focus helps you concentrate and gives your brain more. If a bus connect your main branches to your central image and connect your second and third level branches to the first and second levels, etcetera. Why? Because you're bring works by association. It likes to link two or three or four things together. If you connect the branches, you will understand. I've remembered a lot more easily. Connecting your main branches. Also creates establishes a basic structure or architecture for your thoughts. This is very similar to the way in which, in nature a tree has connected branches that radiate from a central trunk. There were little gaps between the trunk and its main branches, or between those main branches and the smaller branches and tweaks. Nature wouldn't work quite so well without connection in your mind. Map everything special. Your memory and learning false apart. Make your branches curved rather than straight lined. Why? Because having nothing but straight lines is boring to your brain. Curved organic branches, like the branches of trees, are far more attractive and rivet into your eye. Use one keyword per line. Why? Because single keywords keep your mind map more power and flexibility. It's a single word or image is like a multiplier, generating its own a special array of associations and connections. When you use single keywords, each one is freer and therefore better able to spark off new ideas and your thoughts, phrases or sentences tend to damp. In this streak of rain. Effect a mind map with more keywords in it. It's like a hand with all the finger joints. Work in a mind map with phrases or sentences is like a head with all your fingers held in. Greatest splints. Use colors throughout. Why? Because colors are that's excited. Your brain is our images. Color ATS. Extra vibrancy alive. Your mind map. That's tremendous energy to a creative thinking, and it's fun. Use images. Throat. Why? Because each image, like the central image, is also worth 1000 words. So if you have only 10 images in your mind map, it's already equal off. 10,000 words of nose. Find out all about mind mapping by reading this book. Ultimate Book off Mind maps. Unlocking creativity. Lose your memory. Change your life. Written by Tony Bazan. Using this method regularly will have positive effects on your thinking and memory. This naturally tends to improve our capacity to associate concepts and ideas with other concepts and ideas in unique ways. Then it will improve your concentration and memory because the human brain learns best when learning is fun, creative, colorful and stimulating. Studies have shown that the human brain is stimulated into action by images, colors, feelings, emotions and by associations and connections, and will improve your thinking by allowing you to compare and make intelligent links between a variety of different ideas and concepts that are presented within the map. Once the technique started as a colored pen and paper to me that are now so many software's available, that helps us to create high quality mind maps and to link other sources off information in various formats. You can also find many online websites where you can create your own mind. Maps online 27. 4.5. The Sound Alike Method: to sound the like method or the word substitution method is a technique that will help you to remember difficult words in the English language or in a foreign language. Words did you aren't familiar with. If you have trouble learning or remembering a difficult word or name, especially a boring one, you can better remember it if you use a substitute. This technique is ideal for remembering either unfamiliar words in English or foreign words . For example, the Latin names in terms that you so frequently come across in subjects like biology, medical sciences and law. The names of places you have to remember in geography, foreign language, words, etcetera do offer lots of difficulties when you try to memorize them. Why is it difficult to remember the strange words, the simple and serious? Because they do not have a meaning for your brain. When you read or hear the word apple, your mind creates the image of an apple. His mental image helps you remembering the word without any difficulty. But in the case of an unknown word were a foreign language word. There is no previous mental image, so you have to decide what the image should look like before making mental images of the words to which you do not have a meaning you should clears. Create a sound like substitute for the word. In this way, you will learn a new word by you. See your current existing knowledge as foundations. When you hear or see a word or phrase that seems abstract or intangible to you, think of something, anything that sounds like or reminds you off the abstract material and Kevin picture in your mind to If the word you want to remember it's a little longer. You may have to split it into two or more convenient parts, create sound, likes to each part and then associate the individual images to show you how the sound like technique works. Let's view some examples. One. How to Remember Definitions off unfamiliar words. The word rapacity means excessively greedy. To remember this definition, use a little imagination and split the word rapacity into three parts. Wrapped, uh, city. No. Think of some image for the above three parts. If someone asked you to wrap a city and give it to him as a birthday gift, he's a very greedy person. Here's another example. The word bologna phobia means an irrational fear of needles and pins usually resulted in an abnormal behavior in a society. The word comes from the Greek words Belen mean a needle and phobia, meaning fear. For the word Belen, we can easily find the sound like substitute in English balloon, so the fear of needles but on a phobia can be remembered by the sentence. The balloon is afraid of needles to how to learn new words from a foreign language. Learning the vocabulary of a foreign language can be phone if you apply your ability for creative work associations. If a new word resembles a word in your native language, create a mental image association between the native word and the new work. For example, the French word Trumper means to cheat. You can associate it with the English word trumpet, plus a liar, you know que Similarly, the French word mess on means house. You can picture yourself as Mason building a brick house. Here is another two. It's not necessary for associations to include all the letters of the given word. It's enough to remember the beginning of words. Usually your brain will fill in the rest the main applications of the sound like method are memorized English vocabulary, memorizing new definitions, memorize foreign language vocabulary, memorized botanical, zoological or scientific names and memorizing any after information. 28. 4.6. You may not recall the name of the song or all the words Steward, but you do know that you have heard the music before. Rhymes are short versus used to remember Dana. You have probably learned a number of these in school to help you remember new concepts and historical references. Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. 30 days has September, April, June and November. All the rest of 31 except every alone, which has about 28 days clear and 29 in each leap year. Here is an example for remembering Roman numerals. I am a Roman soldier, one via victories. I have one X marks the spot where Tim comrades felt Onley 50 lift to tell 100 more were capture in war. Now we find high 100 days more 1000 soldiers marching on tour right and rhymes is a talent that can be developed with practice. To start, give your rhymes short and simple to find the key information you want to remember and breaking down into a series of short phrases. Look at the less words of the creases. Can you write any of them if they don't rhyme? Can you substitute or at award to create the rhyme? For example, in The Columbus Rhyme, 92 does not rhyme with ocean, but adding the word blue completes the rhyme and creates denim. Oni jingles are phrases said to music so that the music helps triggered your memory. Songs are easier to remember than just worried. Think about what rhymes and jingles you have used in the past, and if you feel creditably inspired, create your own rhymes and giggles to help you remember something. Before becoming president, James Madison led fights to create a constitution and a bill of rights 29. 4.7.1. The Peg System - Presenting the Method: how the back system works. A peck system can be thought of much like a wardrobe, which contains a number of poops for hanging clothes on. The hangers themselves never changed, but the clothes which are hung on the hooks can be infinitely varied. In other words, the principal off the peg system is simple because you will never forget how to count from 1 to 10 or how to say your A B. The demonic back system was invented by Henry Hurts in back in mid 16 hundreds, pulling the digit with anyone off several objects that resembled number. Why is it difficult to remember numbers? Because numbers do not have a meaning? If we could do something to give some kind of for meaning to numbers and can conjure up a mental image of numbers, we want to remember life would be easier. She is for holding a loud speaker with a human hand. Five. Memorizing numbers. It's pretty simple with his method, isn't it? Step four. Memorize every called a story on the number. Replay the story, following it logically from once in area to the next, and you should recall all the items in the right order to 8745 applications off the number symbol method. This technique is a very effective method for a memory. Short, everyday numbers like credit card numbers, combinations for locks and safes, computer passwords, phone passwords, etcetera. Think of this simple method as another pocket memory technique that you keep it hand to make it easier to memorize short numbers when you need it. 36. 4.7.8. The Sing-a-long Method: The single long method is another type of bag method, very easy to learn and fun to use. It is especially suitable for predominantly auditory persons. This method mix a song out of what you want to memorize. How hard is to learn the words to a new song Very hard. If the middle of these familiar here is old words, choose a familiar tune that you like and replace some of the words into the song with the words from the least you want to memorize. At first, demonic fight song will seem a little weird, but after singing it a couple of times, you'll be amazed at how well this technique works as a bag method to sing along. To seek has the same sequence off four steps, Step one learned a feckless off the system. The code. Choose a song with which you are familiar. Make sure that you know the Milady and words really well. Folk songs are great for the single long method because most of us learned them when we were young and still have them fresh in our minds. The key to the single long method is having a list of Pec songs that you can access whenever you need to memorize something, make your own lease with songs with which you are familiar. Here is an example of a list off Paxson's that you can refer to. Often. It is recommended that you create your own pick list of songs with which you're familiar. Trinkl twinkle Little star This old man old McDonald had a farm. Three. Blind Mice, My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean You Are My Sunshine Nursery Rhymes. Christmas songs and folk songs are great to use for the singalong method. The better you know the words a melody to the original song, the easier it is to make what you're trying to memorize. Step to apply the code. Write down the words of your chosen song living spaces between each line. This will allow you to put your new words above the original words. Then write down the notes or information that you want to memorize on a separate sheet of paper. Allow the important keywords said you want in the song and abbreviate your notes as much as possible. Step three. Create a memorable song by replacing the words now your list to be memorized and fitted into each line off the original song. It's creative, the new words rhyme, but it is not essential. What's more important is the number off syllables online somewhat matches the number off sea levels of the new line. You can also add a few small filler words in Do you make it sound better and fit with the tune step for memorize every call this song and the items. Sink the new song and make any adjustments you need. Sing it a few times to get the hang of it. After singing it about four or five times close, it will be imprinted in your memory. Here is a tip for making the singalong method even more powerful once you've created the new song recorded on your phone and listen to it when you get the opportunity, you'll be astonished of the result and how easy and fun it is. To use this technique, you could use the same song over and over again with different applications. Create an arsenal off about 10 songs that you can use over and over again, depending on the number of elements that need to be memorized 37. 4.7.9. The Major System Level 1: the major system, also called the continent beg method or definitive pneumonic system, is a very efficient technique used to memorize numbers, shuffle playing cards, dates, historical facts and other long abstract sequences of items. Created by Stanislaus Ming Gongbei. Sign in the mid 17th century and modified in the early 18th century by an Englishman, Dr Richard Ray, he has been used and continually improved upon for more than 300 years. The meter system is one of the most used by mental athletes. One of the reason is that it is easier to learn that other memory systems and also it is fun to use into major system. The picks are the continents link with the first and numbers want to end and can be 10 100 or 1000 depending on the level at which you want to apply. The major system under the principle is the same. The difference between dis variants is the number of images you need to learn beforehand 10 100 or 1000. In this lesson, you will learn how to use the basic major system first level it, he said. Higher levels that you can unleash the real power of this technique. You shoot, however, learn to use this first level before moving on in the next section of this course, dedicated to the advanced memory methods, you will learn how to use the next levels off this system. Now let's see how the major memory system works. This technique is based on the principle that images can be remembered more easily than numbers. By using images, large amounts of information can be accurately memorized. The system works by converting number sequences into continents, continents into images and Lincoln images into sequences little stories. Thus, we create unforgettable memories for the numbers. Here are the four steps of this method Step one learned the Peck list off the system. The code, the major system first level, involves code in single digit numbers into small words and is very simple. For this variant, you need to pre learn a simpleton association's code. The code is a simple list of associations between the numbers from 0 to 9 and the following confident sounds. The code is easy to learn. It shouldn't take more than 15 to 20 minutes to fully master it, and once learned he can be used for life step. Do apply the code, take a number you would like to remember and apply the killed by creating mental associations between items to be remembered and the images that are already known from the checklist. The number sequences are converted into continents from the learned coat, then into words. The words are former quite simply by filling in the gaps between continents with fouls. As an example, let's take the number 1402 according to the systems. Coat the digits in the number 1402 tress. Late two d. R s n. Now we need to form one or more words with this letters, which is feel the gaps between the letters using the neutral elements vowel sounds. For example, this letters can become the words Dear Sean or Door Sona. As you can see, both variants can become memorable images. I recommend you to create your own images based on the associations that's come to your mind with east according to your own way of thinking. The coding from word to number is also easy to do. Boss, for instance, becomes 90 nine for B and syrah for s vowel sounds are ignored. The conversion process may seem a little slow and cumbersome at first, but with just a little bit of practice, it becomes second nature. Remember that conversions are strictly fanatic. That is based on how the words sound, not how their spell. We're recalling the word chosen for a number. You would know that it could represent only that number because that comes in a letter in the word represents no other number and vowels do not count US numbers in this system. Step three Create a memorable story from the images. The major system is a very efficient technique for memorizing dates. Let's say that you have an appointment with Bob on July 21st at 2:20 p.m. A duty to memorize the state First step is to transform the date in our into numbers. 07 2114 20. Then apply the major systems coach SK NT, D. R. Ennis. The four numbers can become the words seek next door. NASA. Now let's create a little story with this words. Imagine your friend Bob sick in the next door to entered in NASA building. With this image, you will not be able to forget about your appointment with bomb step four. Memorized every call this story on the number. Finally, review the pictures in your mind to check that you have correctly memorized the images that will trigger your numbers. 07 2114 20 The applications of the major system as a result of its interim logic, this system is very easy to learn once you have overcome the initial hurdle, which looks rather complicated at the beginning. The advantage of this technique is that it's straightforward and you can begin using immediately. You can apply it to the memorization of blame carts, very long numbers, telephone numbers, dates in history, birthdays and anniversaries, least an information for examinations In the next section of the scores, you can learn about taking the major system to the next level and how you can unleash the real power of this technique. I think this method is extremely powerful, and he deserves to be thoroughly studied, understood and appreciated. So I created an entire distant course dedicated to it. If you want to learn more about the major system, you can enroll in discourse, memory expert tools, the major system 38. 5.1.1. The Major System Level 2- Presenting the method: the mayor system operates on a number of levels, depending on the amount of time you are prepared to devote to learn in the system. In a previous lesson, you could learn how to use the basic level off the major system, which involves coding single digit numbers into small words. You could see the 10 associations coat off this level. Based on this simple code, we can develop a coat of 100 images, thus moving to Level two off the major system. This technique has the same four steps. Step one learned a peck list off the system. The code. In this lesson, I will present you two variants of the coat, one for each type of application of this system. Numbers and playing cards. A. The kilt for memorizing long numbers. May your system. Second level is used for memorizing two digit numbers with a single word. It works by assigning a distinctive ward to each number from 0 to 99. There are 100 combinations of number pairings 00010 to all the way up to 97 98 in 99 so the thriller coat will have 100 images the words associated with the 100 numbers are created from two continents, each corresponding to one of the digits between which you put one or more vowels. Here are some examples 25 l It can be transformed into the ward. Nail or no will. 32 a. M and n It can be transformed into the war. Moon 42 equals our an end and can be transformed into the war. Iran 95 equals B an L and can be transformed into the word ville. 41 equals R and S and can be transformed into the word rose. Pretty simple, isn't it? Now let's see how to create your own personal coat. Write down the numbers from 00 to 99 and apply the rules of the basic major system to create memory warts for yourself. For numbers 0 to 9, you can use the words associated of the first level, but to avoid confusion when you have to memorize long numbers, I recommend that once you have moved to level two, you forget level one and create a completely new code based on two continents, so you need a complete new 100 images, Coach 00 s s, which can be killed. Swiss S. O s Oasis sauce or Suze 01 is esti, which can be sad side sit, shoot or set 02 is S n and can be transformed in Sean son Sona, snow or Asian 03 is some. So much some or swim Sierra four is sir Sorrow or Sarah and so on. In selecting the best work for this number, I suggest you to pick a word containing the first vowel in alphabetical order. A e i o u. That enables you to make an adequate memory word. Just let the constant and Stryker off associations with family every words and images. Listen to your intuition, and it will help you to make the most appropriate choices for your list. Create a set of images feeding the system of your choice. But don't try too great a perfect list. From the beginning, you can find hail with your associations on Internet. Here is an example of a website where you can obtain a lot of good associations where your number just have the number and this show words button and you will get a whole list of words being the code for playing cards. Another application of the major system is the memorization of shuffle playing carts. One or more decks for this application do only a distant coat off 52 images, one for each playing card. The code for playing cards has two distinct components. A code for the cards from 8 to 10 and I could for the court guards. Both components involved bearing numbers and signs with two letter pairs, which will become distinct. A memorable images. Here is how this kilts are made first, the killed for the cards from 8 to 10 that the good letter associations are the same as for the numbers from 0 to 9 C is for each card. There is a number from the general code of the system. ACE is one which is associated with the or tea to spare. Three is M for our five. A spell six is J seven is K 80 Spath or V nine is Pete, or be 10 0 associated with S Porc. If we had to. This letters a litter corresponding to the sign of the card. See for clubs. As for spades, H for heart and D for diamonds. We will get to later pairs that will become the continent's off a specific word. For example, two of gloves is CNN, which can become the word can in the same way the eight of spades is SV, which can be transformed into the word safe to the killed for the court cards. The problem with the court cards jacks, queens and kings are dissimilar sounds of discards, with some letters from the code for the cards from AIDS to 10. For example, Seven of diamonds is DK and can be confused with a king of diamonds If you use the first letter off the word king. Because the sound for seven SK and you may already have words such as sick for the seven of spades, this problem can be solved by taking a different approach with them for the Jacks, one simple solution is to use the pseudonym itself for the four carts, so the jack of diamonds is a diamond Jack of Hearts is a heart jack of spades. Issa, Spain and Jack of Gloves is a club with kings and queens. You can solve the problem by using words that rhyme with King or queen. The big word for King is a word that sounds like King and starts with the first letter off the suit. So we have King henge sing and drink. The big War for the Queen is a word that sounds like Queen and starts with the first letter of the suit. So we have cream queen steam and dream in. The resource is attached to the scores. You will find this codes. You can personalize them according to your preferences before you start practicing this method. The next steps of the method are the same as those presented in the previous lesson dedicated to the first level off the major system step. To apply the coat, take a number or a sequence of playing cards you would like to remember and apply the coat by creating mental associations between items to be remembered and the images that are already known from the pick list. The number or card sequences are converted into continents from the learned killed, then into words. Step three. Create a memorable story from the images and step for memorize and recalled a story on the number or the cars in the following lessons. We will do together to practical applications one for memorizing a long number and the other for memorizing a sequence of blank cards so you can learn better how this method works. 39. 5.1.2. The Major System Level 2- Practical Application 1 - Numbers: In this lesson, you will learn how to use the major system for memorizing long numbers. When I say long numbers, I mean hundreds thousands of digits, which can be memorized much easier if there are encoded in pictures. Let's take a closer look at the four steps off this system. Step one learned a big list of the system. The goat. In this example, I will use the level two killed attached to the previous lesson off this course. Very easy to learn and versatile list. Once you've learned at 100 original images, it's like, you know the off of it of a new language. You can apply to any numbers memorization. In other words, the images of the associative images do not change from application to application step. Do apply the goat. Here is a practical example. Let's memorize together the 1st 40 digits of the number pi ing within mayor system. Second level when you have to memorize long numbers first you have to chung them in twos. Each chunk is converted into a war by using the learned code. Then you place this sequence of memorable images along an imaginary journey that will give you the order. When you want to recall the number first, I will chung this number e twos. Then I converted chunks into sounds and sounds into words. Images. Door, hotel open. Jewell Male, FBI, God money, Mafia rush, hunk Army Mafia money come looses knife, Fire to kids. Step three. Create a memorable story from the images. Memories are constructed by converting numbers in a sequence into images within a story. Here's a little story weaved around his words. The door off the hotel is open. You see Joel sending an email to an FBI cop about the money off the Mafia asking him to rush. He has a hunch about the Army of the Mafia, and it's money the car loses his knife in a fire to while chasing a kid. Step for, memorize and recall the story in the number. Replay this story, following it logically from once in area to the next, and you should recall all the numbers in the right order to As you can see, we have a pretty logical easy to remember the little story created around the 20 keywords each encoded to the use. By applying the major system, this impossible sequence off tickets has become an extremely easy to memorize scenario 40. 5.1.3. The Major System Level 2- Practical Application 2 - Playing cards: As you already know, the first step of this method is to learn the Peck list off the system. The code. In a previous lesson, you can learn about the list for memorizing playing cards. It is important that you have dab, displaced or even create your own list of words based on the associations that come to your mind with ease according to your own way of thinking. Step to apply the code. After having the killed ready, you could now start practicing with a deck of cards by looking at each card and the war assigned to it and try to memorize them. Here is a sequence of Templin cards to apply the code by applying the coat, the Associated letters or words in the case of court cards will be. Let's feel the gaps between confidence and create some words. 10. C. King He'll him call up Drink. Sorry, Seeing Queen Step three is to create a memorable story from the images. The sequence of cards can be easily memorised if we think of a little story created around this words. Imagine a hand seeking for the king to heal him. He is in the club drinking he feels sorry because of a sing about the Queen. Kind of weird, right? That's great, because the weirder it gets, the more rapidly evil be stuck into your memory step for memorized every call the story on the cards. Finally review the pictures in your mind to check that you have correctly memorized the seven images in the same way you could memorize the entire packed of playing cards. Be creative, just our memorizing and sticking to memory, and I'm really sure that with a little practice, you will master this technique in the shortest possible time. 41. 5.2.1. The Dominic System-Presenting the method: the Dominic system is a technique for memorizing. Long sick resists off numbers, including buying our digits or playing cards by first converting them into pairs of letters , then associating those letters with people whose names have those initials, each doing a specific action. Each number or card to be memorized is given a fixed, pneumonic image of a person in an action. The creator of the system is Dominic O'Brien, a British pneumonias eight time world memory champion in an author off memory related books . It is a person action p A system which involves including four digits, six binary digits or to playing cards at a time into images made up of a person in an action, then placing the pneumonic images along a mental journey. But why use people to memorize abstract things like numbers or playing cards? Here is what Dominica Brian say. People can interact with the stuff on my journey. They have feelings and emotions that can turn after vaccine into something calamitous Julius hilarious and so on. Ejecting emotion into my memories, ations made them instantly more memorable. Like all advance memory methods, he has the same sequence or four steps. Step one learned Impact list off the system. The code step To apply the good step. Three. Create a memorable story from the images. Step four. Memorize every cold a story in the number. Each application of this method to Sima lumbers by Never Digits and Blank Arts has a different code. After killing the numbers or playing cards in images, you must place them along a mental journey. By applying the loci method, which I presented in a previous lesson, you associate each image of a person doing the action of another person with the locations on the journey. The more dramatic, even bizarre, and walking the scene, the better. You will remember it later. That Dominic system is one of the most used by mental athletes, and it's a very important memory training tool among the top 10 mental athletes. Six. Used to Dominic system to athletes. Use one car systems and to use the power system. Choosing the system is an individual option for each athlete based on his predominant type of memory and what he feels that it's more effective for himself. For this reason, I created an entire course dedicated to it. If you want to learn more about this technique. You can enroll in this course memory expert tools, the person action Dominic system. The applications off this method are memorizing long numbers. Memorizing long sequences off buying are idiots. I'm memorizing the exact border off one or more decks of shuffled playing cards. The method. It's simple. Give to the numbers or to the cards identities that you could then link up in the correct sequence by placing them along a mental journey. The diamond Existing missed three variants of codes, one for each time off application In the follower lessons, you will see practical examples for each application of this method. Lung numbers finery, digits employing cards, and you will learn how to create your own personal codes for each of these applications. In the end, depending on the purpose in which you will use this system, you should have three complete list of people, each one with their own interviewed election, at least for memorizing numbers. Consistent off 100 people, and actions associated with the numbers from 00 to 99 at least for memorizing buying are idiots consistent off eight people in actions associated with the eight possible combinations of three Beinart revisions and at least for memorizing playing cards consistent off 52 people and actions associated with a 52 playing cards. Once you have memorised the cast, you have finished the hardest part of the Dominic system. 42. 5.2.2. Dominic System for numbers: In this lesson, you will learn how to create and to use your code for memorizing long numbers. The Dominic System for Numbers works by assigning a specific letter to each number from 0 to 9 and then group in the number Letter C. No sequencing two pairs. Here are the four steps of the method said one, Learned a peck list off the system. The code The Coat for Numbers is a list of 100 persons, each with a distinctive action associated with the numbers from 00 to 99 that are 100 combinations of number pairings 00010 to all the way up to 97 98 in 99. The starting point for creating the skilled for 100 people is this list of associations between the digits from 0 to 9 and some letters. What is the logic of this associations? Here's what Dominic O Brien says about it. 1 to 5. Take the letters a t e. The 1st 5 letters of the alphabet. Originally, I decided to give all the numbers there Correspondent, letter of the alphabet. This seemed the most logical approach. However, it wasn't actually the most natural formula for me. So I went with my instinct. Instead, I couldnt six as a letter s because of its sound. I give seven the letter G because of the G seven configuration off world finance ministers A takes h board, similar sound and similarly, 90 x and zero is coated with letter O because of its shape. Starting from this list, we can create our own code of 100 people and actions. Thus 00 will be associate it according to this list with oh, which become the initials of a person, for example, only value and an action it and spinach or Ossie Osborne singing rock The number 01 will become O A. Which can be Ossie Ardiles. Plane 15 East A E Albert Einstein person junking a blackboard Action 35 c e. Clean ease Would person lessening action and so on? You can find the entire original dominance list in the resource is attached to this lesson . You can use dominates list, but to be confident about your own memorization, you need to write a list of your own 100 number people codes based on your personal affinities. Step to apply the coat when you have to memorize long numbers. First, you have to chung them in force. The first idiots are converted into a person, and the second to the gets become in action. The unique combination between that person and the action off another person will create a memorable image that you will place along an imaginary journey. For example, number 1535 is junk in 15 and 35 from the first number 15. We will use the person Albert Einstein, and from the second number 35. We will use the action less willing, so the number 1535 will be memorized by this picture. Albert Einstein lawsuit. Here's an example of how this method can be used. Let's say you have a long number to remember. First you break it up into pieces, split it up into force, thence pleaded Intergroup stuff, too. For the first group of four digits, 53 is the first number and 43 is the second. Always take the person of the first number. 53 Eddie Clapton and the action of the Second number, 43 performing Magic and combined them together to form an image. Eric Clapton Performing Magic The second group of four digits, 59 65 becomes the image off Emperor narrow playing tennis, and the third group of four digits becomes Sherlock Holmes, lassoing when you want to decode the number, you know that the person is the first number and the action is a second Step three. Create a memorable story from the images. A journey this image is can then be inserted into a memory palace along an imaginary journey or in a peck system. For quick recall. Each image stores four digits. So once it's prepared, I'm sure you can see for yourself how powerful it can be. For example, to memorize this 200 digits number, you will need a journey with Onley 50 locations. This impossible number will be transformed using the Dominic system into a memorable story with familiar characters. Step four. Memorize and recall the story on the number. Finally, review the pictures in your mind to check that you have correctly memorized the images that will trigger your numbers. The Dominic system is one of the easiest to learn, and for this reason it is used by many people who train their memory, including mental athletes participating, a memory competitions 43. 5.2.3. Dominic System for binary digits: In this lesson, you will learn how to create and to use your code for memorizing long sequences of binary numbers. Dominic system for memorizing binary digits works by chunking the DEETs in groups of three in a sign in a specific image, person and action to each combination. This variant has the same sequence of four steps. Step one. Learn to peck List off the system. The code. There are only eight possible combinations off three Binah traditions. My associate and this combinations with pictures we get to killed for this method. Here is a simple killed based on the number, shapes and person action method. Dominic System 000 Mickey Mouse Dancing 001 Woody Woodpecker Drumming 010 Dumbo flying 011 Blue Till Marken 111 Asterix Drinking Magic potion 101 box money to in a carriage 110 Fred Flintstone yelling Yabba dabba doo 100 Road Runner Beeping. You can find a simple code in the document attached to this lesson. You can use it as it is, but it's best to create your own code of associations between the eight digits combinations and some persons plus actions step to apply. The code long sequences of finer idiots are chunk in six. The 1st 3 digits are converted into a person, and the 2nd 3 d it's become in action. The 60 get compound images person plus action are then please along imaginary journeys. For example, this 12 minute radiant sequence becomes. Then the first group becomes the image of Bucks money person flying action. Well, the second group becomes Asterix drumming. Now let's begin a replication. You will learn how to memorize a sequence off 60 finery. Digits Seems a little hard to memorize, isn't it? My chunk in the number in 634 person and three for action. We can transform it into memorable images. Doom. But you in a carrot first. Flintstone dancing bucks money yelling Gabbert Ever do dumbbell beeping Woody Woodpecker yelling Yapa de Madou Books Money. Marken, Asterix Chewing a carrot. Do the drinking magic potion. Would it? Wick Becker drinking magic potion. Mickey Mouse chewing a carrot. As you can see, the images are still confused. Step three. Create a memorable story from the images. A journey. We have 10 memorable images to put in an order system of places that will helps us in order to save them For this purpose, we will use the solar system with 10 large, visible celestial bodies On the hot sun, you can see an elephant with that hot burning carriage on Mercury C. Fred Flintstone Dancing Under America Read Drops frame on Venus Monks. Money yelling Jabba Deborah do with Venus of Milo on Earth. Double beeping on Mars Would it? With Becker yelling Yabba dabba doo on Jupiter Bucks money barkin on, say, Trinh Aster X two in a carriage Andre Nas dumbbell drinking magic potion on Neptune. Would a woodpecker drinking magic potion and a blue Till Mickey Mouse Jew in a carriage Step four memorized and recall the story and the digits? Finally, review the pictures in your mind to check that you have correctly memorized attend images. In this example, I placed six digits for locus. Here's how effective the dominant methods can be. To memorize is 300 by now a digit sequence to a later journey with only 50 locations. This impossible number will be transformed by using the Dominic system into a memorable story with familiar characters 44. 5.2.4. Dominic System for playing cards: In this lesson, you will learn how to memorize. Ah, hold back of shuffle Blank Arts Blinded Dominic System among the top 10 mental athletes. Six. Use to card systems based on the Dominic method. This demonstrates its power for memorizing loan sequences of shuffle playing cards. This variant works by systematically converting the cart into memorable images. Step one learned a peck list off the system. The coat. Let's see how the coat is made because the purpose of the code is to associate each single card with a person in a specific action. It has to distant components, one killed for the courts from 8 to 10 and a code for the core cards. Both components involved bearing numbers and signs with two letter pairs, which will become the initials of some persons making a single unique action. Next, I will detail the two components. The court car system is a bit simpler because there is no need to translate the court cards into letters as they are over the people. Let them trigger off associations with people you know, or with public figures. The killed for the cards from 8 to 10 the video letter associations were featured in the previous lesson in which we presented the Dominic system. A species a two is B three cc for Is the five piece E six is Fast seven is G eight, East age 90 spend and 10 Espo. If we have to these letters a letter corresponding to the song of the card, we will get to later appears that will become the initials off some people. For example, the eight of clubs thus becomes agency. The two of hearts becomes BH. The two of diamonds becomes B D and so on. Now you can create your own list of associations between carts and some people the eight of clubs transformed into the pair. HC will be associated with a person whose name has these initials. For example, Hillary cleans it. The two of hearts is be age and can become, for example, Benny Hill. The two of diamonds is BD and I can associated with Bruce Dickinson. You can find help for your personal associations on Internet. This way you can complete your 40 persons in actions list. For this cards the court cards. You can apply the same method of choosing persons having those letters as initials to the court cards. However, for these cards, dominant. Choose to associate them with people and actions by applying another room. Here is what Dominic O'Brien Saiz. There is no need to translate the court guards into letters as they are already people. Lemon tree growth associations with people you know or with public figures. Personally, I associate gloves with aggression diamonds with, well, spades with brunettes and hearts with sex symbols. Hater Dominic's associations for the court guards. Remember, you need to create your own list of people and actions based on the associations that come to your mind with ease according to her own way of thinking. In the resource is attached to this lesson, you will find a template that will help you decorate your coat for memorizing playing cards . Step to apply the code. After you have created your own list of people, you can start memorizing the whole deck of shuffle cards. All you need is to create a 26 stages mental journey that you know well. In each stage, you will place two cards. Step three. Create a memorable story from the images. Put pairs of cards in every stage of the journey is the person from the first card and the action from the second card and the place too great a memorable image. For example, let's take the pair of cards. King of Flubs Jacob Space. The first Car Association is Sadam Hussein Burning Oil wells. The second card is John Travolta dancing To create a memorable image, we will use the person associated with the first card and the action associated with second card and stick them to a stage of the journey. If you imagine sediment seen dancing in this bus station, you will probably will not forget this image too easily. In this way, you can put in each of the 26 places on your route a memorable image that will represent a pair of cards. The journey will give you the order effortlessly, and the weirdness of the images will make them memorable. Here is another important tip for memorizing more decks. Use more journeys one for each deck of cards. Step for memorized every call This story on. The guards finally reviewed the pictures in your mind to check that you have correctly memorized the 26 images. Now let's give you an example here is the sequence of six playing cards to memorized by a blinded Dominic system. By applying the code, this cards will be associated with persons and actions. Six of spades is S S. This can be Steven Spielberg directing a movie. King of Hearts is Paul Newman playing Pool Eight of Hearts is H H Hulk Hogan doing wrestling Queen of Spades is least Taylor popping champagne. Ace of Diamonds is Alex under dumbest writing a novel and five of clubs? Is Eric Clapton playing a guitar? Now let's create the memorable images by associating the first person with a second action . The third person with 1/4 action and the fifth person with a six action Steven Spielberg playing pool Hulk Hogan pumping, champing I looks under Delemus playing the guitar. The sequence of cards can be easily memorised if we think of a little story created around this images in the same way you could memorize the entire pack of playing cards. But using only 26 memorable images 45. 5.3.1.PAO System- Presenting the method: the power system is used by many mental athletes because is very efficient and easy to use . It is an elaboration off the person action Dominic system, which has led to a superior level. Whereas a Dominic system is based around grouping together four digits at a time, the Pell system can handle six. It does this by separating out the action and the object. So where is the dominant system has spear one equals a person. NPR two equals. Performing the action. The palace Ethan uses bare one. The person fair to the action Bear three D Object PAL is mainly useful for memory competitions as a way to reduce duplicate images. We're memorizing multiple decks of cards or very long numbers. The applications of the panel system are memorizing long numbers, memorizing long sequences, off finery digits and memorizing the exact order of one or more decks of shuffled playing cards. This method involves encoding. 60. It's nine binary digits or three playing cards at a time into images made up of a person in action in an object, then place in the pneumonic images along a mental journey. You turned the sequence into triplets where the person comes from the first detail. The action from the 2nd 1 and the uptick from the third. The three points off PAL reinforce each other and create memorable markers and can be easily linked into mental movies for each of these applications. At this thing, killed is required in the resource is attached to this course. You will find examples for each type of code. You could use my list as they are, or you can make changes to some associations according to your preferences. You will also find some templates that will help you courageous your own codes. All three variants of these methods have the same sequence off four steps. Step one learned the backlist off the system. The code Hey, the code for memorizing numbers. The power system for numbers works by assigning a distinctive person action an object to each number from 0 to 99 that are 100 combinations off number pairings 00010 to all the way up to 97 98 in 99. Each one will be associated with a person in action in an object, since each person can be combined when 100 actions in 100 objects. It means you can create 20,000 and 100 distinct images to memorize long randomized sequences of numbers. Therefore, the pound meant that is extremely powerful. The images can be anything so people assigned person's actions and objects that are completely unrelated to the numbers. Other people have created various systems to classify this images. It doesn't really matter if they are related to the numbers or not. It just matters that you remember the association. In the next lesson, I will present you a guide on how to grade your personal list, and you will see my onus so you can understand how to create your own code. You can use my list as it is. You can create a new one, or you can adapt my list according to your preferences. Be DeCoud for buying every numbers, as you already learned in a previous lesson, where I presented a dominant method for binary digits, there are only eight possible combinations of three binary digits, so the least of associations for these variant is much simpler than the previous one. It contains only eight people with their specific actions and objects. As you can see I used the same characters from the killed learned with the Dominic method, and I added a specific optic to each character. Mickey Mouse dancing with a cane. Would it? With Becker drumming a tree, Do more flying on this guy. Fluto barking at the moon. Asteroids drinking magic potion Monks Bonnie chewing a carrot. Fred Flintstone yelling dabba dabba doo on a dinosaur roadrunner beeping near Creo de see the killed for playing cards. The code for playing cards contains 52 persons, one for each guard in my list. I have organized the 52 cards by their signs for each sign. I just famous characters from a surgeon category. Associated diamonds with actresses, parts with female singers, clubs with male actors and space with male singers. So there it cards are women and the black cards Air Man. When you will have to remember the cards, this organization will give you the clues for the persons. We will talk more about this goat in a future lesson step to apply the code when you memorize long numbers with panel system, first you have to chung them in six. The 1st 2 tickets are converted into a person the second do they gets become in action and the third bird of To Think It's become an object. The unique combination between death person, the action of another person and the object of 1/3 person worker. It a memorable image, but you will place along an imaginary journey. For example, the sequence. 13 Syria 602 becomes Cristiano Ronaldo doing experiments on the Octopus for my never date you chung them in nines. The 1st 3 digits are converted into a person, the 2nd 3 digits into an action, and the last three digits become an object. For example, this 18 binary digit sequence becomes then translated into the language of the images. These numbers will look like this Asterix Park in Under a tree and Fred Flintstone chew in the moon for playing cards. Memorization. The shovel guard sequence is junk in threes. Each three card sequence will become a memorable mental picture. The first card is converted into a person. The second card into inaction and the less card become an object. For example, this three cards sequence six of diamonds. Ace of diamonds, Queen of Diamonds becomes Demi Moore, dwelling with a black swan Step three create a memorable story from the images. Memories are constructed by converting numbers or cards in a sequence into purses, actions and objects within a story. As you already see, the usual combinations between people and the actions or the optics of other people are extremely memorable. By putting them in a story or along a mental journey, you will remember them in order and the final step. It's the middle rice. I recall this story on the number. Although it seems an advanced method that you can only use in memory competitions. You can apply this method to your daily activities to ensure your success in different situations that you face every day. The power system is perfect for dates as their six digits long 12 0 for 17. A super easy to turn into a digit person action object is date month year. You can also use this technique in your daily life for memorizing any numbers you need to know, like passwords, Bosco's card numbers, I D numbers, phone numbers, etcetera. If you want to learn more about this technique, you can enroll in my course memory expert tools. The person action optic system dedicated entirely to this powerful system 46. 5.3.2. PAO System for numbers: In this lesson, you will learn how to use the Pell system for memorizing long numbers. When I say long numbers, I mean hundreds or thousands of digits, which can be memorized much easier if they're encoded in pictures. Let's take a closer look at the four steps of these variant Step one learned a pet list off the system. The code. The panel system for numbers works by assigning a distinctive person action and object. Do each number from 0 to 99 that are 100 combinations of number pairings. 000102 All the way up to 97 98 in 99 to introduce the surgeon Logic and Instructor, I organized a 100 numbers from 00 to 99 in sets of 10 in each set I have associated famous characters from a certain gets angry. Let's see the structure of my list. My sense of tens are associated with specific groups, which made it a lot easier to remember. 00209 are cartoons 10 to 19 our athletes from different sports. 20 to 29 are actors. 30. 39 are kings or queens, 40 to 49 are known presidents of states. 50 to 59 are mythological gods. 60 to 69 are scientists. 72. 79 are singers. 82. 89 are well known adventures. A 90 to 99 are famous TV stars. You can find this least in. The resource is attached to the scores. It's best agreed your own personal images for his system. Just use your favorite categories, then led them. Trigger off associations with people you know or with public figures. Once you have learned a 100 original images is like you know, the alphabet of a new language. You can apply to any number memorization. In other words, the images of the people actions and objects do not change from application to application . They're the pics on which you have new information. Step, do apply the killed. Let's see an example. We will use the PAL system to memorize. The 1st 6 that gets up. The number five, if I liked by, is an irrational number that continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. First, I will junk the sequence in six. The first stupid it's of a chunk are converted into a person. The second do that, it's become an action, and the third pair of digits become an object. By applying the code, we get 10 memorable images. 61 18 33 Newton Just want to have a pyre. Mint 98 87 49 Semen Karwell riding some generals Want a memorable image. 89 48 48 B. Cyrus Spine in Watergate Hotel. As you can see in this sequence, the number 48 appears to times both as an action in as an object 2045 86. Rafael Nadal Practicing with a crocodile here's are important. It is to choose a memorized the right actions because sometimes they can fit so well with another character they could be confused with your regional wants. The solution is to memorize the list as accurately as possible, and then you will make the right associations. 83 43 65 Sack seller linked bombing with a crown 63 81 17 Noble Discovering this is the action off. Columbus. Formula One. Car 72 C or 309 Joe Lennon eating the action of Put paid to say earlier his muscles 17 98 09 Nigel Mansell Bush in the action off Simon Cowell's A Mouse Hole, 76 28 62. Jimi Hendrix Cracking a Bugle Flight This is the I style object 13 54 48 Christiano Ronaldo seducing in Watergate Hotel. As you can see, these images are extremely memorable. Just by hearing them, Step three create a memorable story from the images. No worries are constructed by converting numbers in a sequence into persons in actions within a story. The 60 did compound images, person action object are placed along imaginary journeys. For this example, you will need to use only 10 stages in your mental journey there. It must be a familiar responsible to you so as to ensure the order of images to be memorized. The journey will give you the order effortlessly, and the weirdness of the images will make the memorable Step four memorized. I recall the story on the number. The final part is to memorize and recall the story and the 60 digits, which will be done by going through our imaginary journey again. 47. 5.3.3. PAO System for binary digits: in this lesson, you will learn how to use the panel system for memorizing long sequences off finery, digits hundreds or thousands off finery. Digits can be memorized much easier if they're encoded in pictures. Memorizing binary numbers is a challenge for everyone, even people who have already gained a certain amount of skill in this area. All that you might at first think is impossible. This desk is theoretically no different for memorizing numbers effect. Memorizing binary numbers is easier than memorizing decimal numbers, because a larger number of tickets could be encoded in a single locus. Here is how it works the spell variant to have the same sequence off four steps. Step one. Learn the pet list off the system. The code. The Binary Digits Power system works by junkie that they get in groups of three in assigning a specific image to each combination that are only eight possible combinations of three binary idiots. By associating this combinations with pictures we can take killed. For this method, the least of associations for these variant is much simpler than the previous one. It contains only eight people with their specific actions and objects. 000 Mickey mouse dancing with a cane. 001 would with Becker German Tree 010 Duma Flying sky 011 Blue Tovar ki moon 111 Asterix drinking magic potion 010 bucks. One issue in a carrot 110 flipped Flintstone yelling Gama de Madu on the dinosaur 100 road runner beeping near Kot In the resource is attached to the scores. You will find this code. You can use my list us it is. Or you can make changes to some associations according to your preferences. Step to apply the code. Here is a 90 digit sequence that will memorize together long sequences. Off winery digits are chanting lines. The 1st 3 digits are converted into a person. The 2nd 3 digits become in action in the last three that it's become an object by chunk. In the sequence. In 934 person three for action and 34 objects, we can transform it into memorable images. One. Asterix chewing a carrot near Kot for it. Flintstone dancing on the moon bucks. Bonnie barking on the dinosaur. Deuba drinking your kot would a woodpecker yelling Jama Deva do on a carrot Asterix parking at the dinosaur Asterix. Jew in the moon. Dumas dancing with the magic potion. Would it would Becker bark in your geo T lugaju in a tree? As you can see, the images are still confused. The next step is to put them in order by creating a memorable story with this images. Step three. Create a memorable story from the images. A journey united it compound images, person action object are dim. Place along imaginary journeys. Choose a templates, his journey that you know well. And imagine this 10 images along that route by placing one image on each place. We have 10 memorable images to put in an order system of places that will help says, in order to save them. Step four memorized and recalled a story on the number finally reviewed the pictures in your mind by walking through our imaginary journey again to memorize this. 450 billion are a digit sequence. Do Alina journey with only 50 locations. Here's how effective the power of methods can be 48. 5.3.4. PAO System for playing cards: In this lesson, you will learn how to use the panel system for memorizing long sequences of playing cards. By using the panel system, the mental athletes can remember a deck of cards in only 25 seconds. The method is simple. Each of the 52 cards is associated with its own person action object image. This allows any triplet of guards to be combined into a single image and for a full tech to be condensed into just 18 unique images. If the two divided by three is 17 with one card left over. By applying the trick, I will show you in this lesson regarding the last card, you won't be able to reduce the number of locations to Onley 17 in the memory sport. The efficiency of a method is given by the fewest number of locations it uses to store an entire deck of playing cards. So the power method is one of the most effective. This pal variant have the same sequence up four steps. Step one learned a peg list off the system. The code in the palace system for remembering playing cards. You need 52 separate person action object images, one for each card. Now let's see the structure of my list to introduce a surgeon. Logic and Destructor have organized a 52 cards by their signs for a sign. I choose famous characters for Mr Jenkins, Hungary. I associated diamonds with actresses, hearts with female singers, clubs with male actors and space with male singers. So the red cards are women, and the black carts are men. When you will have to remember the cards, this organization will give you clues for the persons. The characters are arranged randomly on the list. But where I had the opportunity to make a clear connection between the card and the character, I did it. For example, Antony Quinn dancing a Greek dance could be associated with the Queen of Clubs because of the actor's name and job in the same way Ben E. King was associated with a king of spades. And Freddie Mercury was the queen of spades. If you think of other associations between these characters and cards, you can make changes to the list before you start learning it. You can replace this characters with others according to your preferences. To make your lays more personal. You can also choose real people from your life. After some practice, the association process will become automatic. When you will see a surgeon card, you will automatically have the image of the associative person doing his action to his object. Step two. Applying acute After you have created your own list of people, you can start memorizing playing cards. The shuffle cards sequences chunked in threes. Each three chord sequence will become a memorable mental picture. The first card is converted into a person. The second card into an action and a last card become an object to get a better understanding. Let's assume that the first group of three cards from your deck is three of clubs, 10 of diamonds and six of hearts. You will stick to memory. The Pau applied to the entire group like this P person from the first card handing elector a action from the second car teleported the action off Carrie Anne Moss, Trinity from the Matrix Oh, object from the third car at the second floor, the object of Suzanne Vega. So you will have an image of Hannibal Lecter teleporting at the second floor, kind of weird right the screen because the wager it gets, the more rapidly it will be stuck into your memory. You can imagine Hannibal Lecter suddenly appearing at the second floor of a building that you know well. Be creative, just our memorizing and stick into memory, and I'm really sure that you will find and adjust the best bounce system for you. From my experience, I can tell you will take an hour or two to define and refine your pound system. Starting from the list attached to this course, let's view another example. This nine card sequence will be transformed in three memorable images. The 1st 3 Cards Group becomes Frank Sinatra, the person from the three of spades Killing Me softly. The action for the fifth of Hearts in a casino, the object for the 10 of clubs. The second group will turn into the image off photo dine hard on the second floor. One of the third group will become Celine Dion, silencing an alien. This unique, memorable combinations will be placed along an imaginary journey that will give you the order for your memorization. The order is extremely important because when you have to memorize long sequences off playing cards, although you will remember the memorable pictures. You may have problems with the order in which they were memorized for these recent it is recommended to combine the power method with a location method, which I presented in a previous lesson. The loci method gives you the structure on which to place it in a Monique images. Therefore, it is used by almost all other memory techniques. Remember that for a deck of court, you will need to prepare beforehand a mental journey with 17 locations, said three. Create a memorable story from the images. A journey. All you need is to create a 17 stages mental journey that you know well. To use this technique most effectively, it is recommended to prepare the journey beforehand. In this way, the landmarks are already clear in your mind before you begin to memorize the information. When you start memorizing but three carts on each location look at the first card and imagine the person at the locus. The next card. Imagine he section on the next card, then the object. Then imagine the person doing the action with that object and holding me that place. When you memorize them, do it using all your senses, not only with your eyes. When you do this, you engage all your senses into creating memories, and I have learned that this type of memorizing it's far more efficient that just trying to photographically Onley with the ice sticks something to memory and continue to look art. And what happens to the 52nd card? This card will not have action or objects when we're calling the deck that are two situations. If you have a fresh deck, which you must put into the same order as the one you memorized, it's easy. You don't have to memorize it at all because the leftover card is the 52nd card. If you have to recall the deck verbally or a paper without a new deck in this case, you naturally the last card to an image for a memory later can imagine the last person sitting by themselves alone in the press, looking as if there were left out. Or you can link the person with last object from the previous sequence. Step for memorized every call. This story on the guards reviewed the pictures in your mind to check that you have correctly memorized the 17 images for memorizing more decks. Use more journeys one for each deck of cards. So I recommend you to make your own collection of routes for this purpose. 49. 5.4.1. Presenting Ben Pridmore System: breeder of this system is bent Brigham or a British. Pneumonias, too, has won the World Memory Championships three times. Bennett, also multiple world record holder and holds the record for most memory competitions. Attended Man System is a variation of the major system, which I introduced in a previous lesson. How do you spend system in the Bend system? The information to be memorized is Chunk and and killed it into continent that will constant sounds that Arctic basis for the demonic images. The groups of CVC art transformed into images made up off three objects, which are then placed into a memory palace. How long a mental journey Some of these objects are people. Some are things the name of the object starts with a one syllable sound made up of a continent avowal and another continent. You can use men system for memorizing decimal numbers, finery numbers or playing cards. Visible numbers chunked in threes, which become the constant verbal continent by never idiots. Chunk intends and chunked again into 433 which become the continent vowel continent. Playing cards are chunked in pairs. The constant, double constant group for playing cards is the right from the two suits combined Continent First Guard vowel second card Constant Step one. Learn the bank list off the system. The code Best system is a complex technique used in Memory Countess Because of his efficiency. The applications off this systems are memorized in decimal numbers, memorizing buying every numbers and memorizing playing cards. For each of the three obligations, there is a distant code that must be learned before practice in them. This is original CVC Table for memorizing numbers. As you can see, there are three columns. The first and third columns are identical and contained the from 1 to 9 associated with different continents, While the second column contains combinations of the same digits with bells, please know that this table is just a starting point of the killed for numbers, which contains 1000 words each associated with a number from 1 to 1000. Each of these numbers from 1 to 1000 can be written as a three digit combination. For example, the number one will be written as 001 the number 21 0 21 and so on. So starting from this table, we can write a list off 1000 unique words based on the combination. Off the three columns, for example, the number of 730 becomes the word kiss. 447 becomes rock, and the number 911 bat here is the killed for memorizing by never digits. It is based on the same rule off confident vowel continent. Well, you have to memorize long sequences off by never idiots. First, you have to chung them intense. Then in 433 which become the constant avowal continent starting from the stable, we can write down a list of 1024 unique words based on the combination of the three columns . Here's other words are made. This sequence off binary digits becomes the word hat while the sequence becomes a word hman . Now let's view the killed for memorizing playing cards. Playing cards are memorized in pairs. The combination between the two sides of the carts gives us the first confident the first guards value becomes develop, and the second course valley becomes the final continent. For example, seven of hearts and four of diamonds. The first continent is made by combining the two suits, heart and diamond is a B sound. Next, the first guard valley becomes vowel. Seven equals E as in me, and the final card value becomes a continent for equals. R seven of hearts and four of diamonds is the E. R, which could be any image of a beer. These two cards sequence Ace of Diamonds and Ace of Clubs becomes the work rat for many people once he responsible toe learn in the Bend system is creating a memorizing this codes . For example, the killed for playing cards contains 2704 52 by 52 possibles to card combinations for which Bemporad more has an image. Prum M. Arised for numbers, you can use the same list of words but only utilize 1000 off them for decimal in 1000 and 24. For binary in the following lessons, I would show you have these variants work. I won't do together some practical applications step to apply the coach. Every set of three numbers Tim Vine are in digits or to playing cards becomes an emo nick image. Like the major system, Ben System is a fanatic memory technique. It works by converting number sequences into continents, continents into images and Lincoln images into sequences middle stories. Thus, we create unforgettable memories from the numbers. Step three create a memorable story from the images. Bemoaning images are then placed along imaginary journeys. Besides, it's extremely powerful code in this method goes even further. Britain three such images in every locus along the journey at each point of the journey that are three objects contained by one single larger image. You can visualize this objects arranged from left to right or top to bottom and directing in various ways, depending on their order. My place in three images. In one locus of a journey, the vent system encodes nine decimal numbers. 30 binary digits or six playing cards in a single demonic image. That means you can condense, for example, and it's our pack of cards into just nine places. 52 divided by six. Therefore, with this system, you can memorize five pack of cards by using a journey with only 30 places. This is how powerful this system really is, and the last step is to memorize every call. The story and the numbers or the cards finally reviewed the pictures in your mind to check the Jeff correctly memorized the images 50. 5.4.2. Ben System for numbers: it is lesson you will learn how to use the bed system for memorizing long numbers. Let's take a closer look at the four steps of this variant. Step one learned a Peck list of the system. The coat in the band system. The information to be memorized is chunk and encoded into continent. There will constant sounds that are the basis for the Monique images. Here is the code for dismal numbers based on the stable, you can include any three digits as a word form on the structure off three letters one for each column. Continent there will continent. The groups of CVC are transformed into images made up of three objects, which aren't in place into a memory palace. A longer mental journey. Some of these optics are people. Some are things the name of the object starts with a one syllable sound made up of a continent avowal and another consonant. He was an example. The number 811 night 40315 will be junked in three groups of three digits inch. Then we can create his three images associated with the chunks. 811 equals F A. T. 9 40 equals B. O s and 315 equals m. Am. The demonic image off this long number will be the fat boss off the mall. As you can see, one single image contains nine included tickets. This is how efficient the system can be. You can find the stable in the resource is attached to the scores. Please remember that this table is just a starting point for creating the code. Continue in 1000 images to be pre memorized, one for each number from 1 to 1000. The small table on Lee gives you the rule to create the kilt required by Ben. System, as with other memory systems, is best to create your own personal images. If you decide to use this powerful system once you have learned a 1000 original image code , you can apply it to any decimal number. Memorization step. Do apply the code when you have to memorize long numbers. First, you have to chung them in threes, which become the constant vowel continent. Then find the associate word for this group and combine it with the next two words. Each represented three digits. The unique combination between these three words will create a memorable image, including nine digits, that you will place a longer mental journey. In other words, associated with this number. Ken Mi's mom. So the pneumonic images will be can missing his mom? Step three Create a memorable story from the images. The nine digits compound images are placed along imaginary journeys. The roots must be as familiar. Responsible to you has to ensure the order of the images to be memorized. The journey will give you the order effortlessly, and the weird nose off the images will make them memorable. Step four memorized every call this story on the number The final part is to memorize. I recall the story, which will be toned by going through our imaginary journey again. 51. 5.4.3. Ben System for binary digits: In this lesson, you will learn how to use spend system for memorizing long see quizzes off finery. Digits. One of the disciplines of World Memory Championships is to memorize and to recall as many by never digits as possible. Computer generated numbers are presented the rows off 30 digits with 25 rounds per page. Bin system enables you to convert any 10 digit long string of ones and zeros into a unique image by placing three images in one Lucas of a journey. The best system turns each row off 30 digits into a single demonic image. Memorizing by never numbers is easier to memorize in decimal numbers, because a larger number of tickets can be encoded in a single locus. Step one learned a pick list off the system. The code for binary digits here is a system scope for mine. Aries The deed letter associations used by vampire It more are. As you can see, four binary digits have Onley 16 possible combinations. Three binary digits have only eight possible combinations. Please remember that this table is just a starting point for creating the killed containing 1000 and 24 unique images to be pre memorized step to apply the code when you have to memorize long sequences off buying a read idiot. First you have to chunk them intense, then in 433 which become the constant vowel consonant. Then find the Associated Word for this group and combine it with the next two words, each representing Templin every digits. The unique combination between these three words will create a memorable image, including 30 binary digits. But you will place along an imaginary journey. Here is an example. This 30 binary digit sequence becomes Stan Till. Can't imagine Stan given a telephone cold to a cat. And this image only willing, killed all these 30 finery, Digits said. Three. Create a memorable story from the images. Every set of three images are placing every locus along imaginary journeys. The roots must be US family responsible to you, so it's to insure the order of images to be memorized. Step four. Memorize and recall the story on the digits. The final part is to memorize. Recall the story, which will be done by going through our imaginary journey again. For example, to memorize this 600 by never digit sequence, you will need a journey with only 20 locations, this impossible number will be transformed by using bet pres more system into a memorable story. 52. 5.4.4. Ben System for playing cards: In this lesson, you will learn how to use Ben system for memorizing long sequences of playing cards. Step one learned a pick list off the system. The code for blame cards When Britain more uses a killer based on a unique image for every two cart combination, that means that each pair of cards is combined into an image when he sees the King of Diamonds, followed by the answer of spades. That's a unique image when he sees the Ace of Spade, followed by the King of Diamonds. This is different. Unique image That's 2704 52 times 52 possible to card combinations for which bam print more has an image. Prum M. Arised The card later associations used by Ben Freedom or are based on the combinations in the stable. You have to create and learn your own code one for each possible two carts combination totally 2704 possible combinations. As usual, what is effective is even harder to learn. The same is true for this system. Now you will see how effective this system is. Step two. You apply. The code invents system playing cards are chunked in pairs. The songs of the two cards are combined to create the first continent. The first cards value becomes de vowel, and the second carts value becomes the final continent. Let's memorize this six card sequence. The first step is the chunga sequence in pairs. Next, let's apply the killer to each pair, forming continent vowel constant sequences that will helps us create words and then memorable images for the first player. First letter is B because of the hard diamond combination. The second letter is the Vowel O, and third letter is B. I got the word Bob for the second beer. First sound is esteem because of the spates diamond combination. The second letter is E and third letter is B. I got the second word, which is step for the third year for sound is our because of the Diamond Club combination. The second letter, East O and the third letter is M third. Ward is room. Now we have three words that will form a memorable image that we will put in the first stage of the imaginary journey. Bob stepped into the room two carts for image and three images per locus fits six cards per locus along imaginary journeys. That means that you can condense an entire pack of cards into just nine places. 52 divided by six. Therefore, you could memorize five packs of cards using a 30 places journey. Step three Korean. A memorable story from the images. Take the images and link them with the others in a story in the correct border. Two cards for image and three images per locus fits six cards per locus along imaginary journeys. The last stage will have on Lee Afford card image, and the last step is to memorize and recall the story on the cards. Yes, I already said one serious obstacle to learn in the bed system is finding images two feet, all 2704 possible combinations and then learn in the whole code. It's a tough job, but it will greatly help you memorize thousands of cards once as required in memory contest . What is the advantage of the system? Compared to the Dominic and power systems with a Dominic system, you need a 26 stages journey to memorize a deck of cards with the power system, you need a 17 stages journey to memorize a deck of cards. But the men system only requires nine stages to memorize a deck of cards. So it s probably the most efficient card memorization system, a true nuclear weapon for your memory. 53. 6.1. How to remember where you put things: because memory storage and retrieval is so complex, even healthy people can experience memory loss or memory distortion from time to time. Some of these memory flaws become more pronounced with age. But unless they are extreme and persistent, they're not considered indicators of Alzheimer's disease or other memory and parent illnesses. Here is the most common memory issue that we all have from time to time. Have you ever misplace something and cannot seem to remember where you put it? These policing things is somewhat of a routine annoyance for most of us. The experience is so common that we all spend significant chunks of our lives searching for misplaced optics like mobile phones, keys, glasses, cars, etcetera, temporary lapses in memory or common every calling the precise location of a specific item , especially if it's one you use all the time. It's tough, but why we hide things from ourselves. This is likely due to inattention or to interference, which impairs your ability to focus. Studies found that when a person is exposed to interference, their ability to recall info even over very short periods of time declined significantly. What can you do about it? First, you have to be paying attention as it happens so that the memory can be printed properly on your brain. Second, try to limit interference mentally, rehearse what you're doing and older remind until you're finished with the test. By applying the techniques that I will present to you, you will easily pass through the steps and you will remember where you put your forgotten items. In this case, the recommended method is a link method, as you already known from a previous lesson. This method works by cutting information to be remembered into images and the Lincoln this images Together. You use it by making simple associations between two objects, linking them with a vivid image containing both items. Take the first image and create a connection between it and the image of the other item, perhaps in your mind, smashing them together. Putting one on top of the other or such like the association, means binding together of two things that create a link hook through which one of them will bring to light the other from the depths of memory. The association can be made on Lee between two things and no more tip use very streaks to make the Mental Images Association and absorbed or hilarious show. We tend to forget the simple, mundane, everyday, ordinary things, but we rarely forget the unique, the violent, the unusual, the absurd, the extraordinary. Make your associations unusual, ridiculous, impossible, and it'll stick like glue. How to apply the technique to solve this problem First, when you put down your wallet or keys on a table out of the way, look at the table for a few seconds and focus on the visual in your mind. Second, create a mental association between the keys and the table you can use. The very read man meant it. Imagine there is a glass of milk on that table, and you put the keys into that last. The meal is splashed all over the table, or you can use the wrong white method. Imagine that your keys air a grenade and they explode whenever you put them. Now you won't be able to forget. What are your keys? Remember forgetting it's normal. It's higher wired into our brains as part of our evolution. Scientists used to think that forgetting was a failure of the brain. No longer forgetting is now recognized as a memory s it effect forgetting enables us to remember because we are naturally left with the information that is most important to our daily survival. Member techniques are tools that you can use consciously for improving your life. Your goal is not to create a memory that retains all unimportant details. These techniques should help you to apply a selective memory of the important things, Okay? 54. 6.2. Remember why you went room: here is another come a memory problem to everyone. You walk into the kitchen with purpose, then stand the doorway, wondering why you went in there to do to your adversary list. Look for your keys. Get a glass of water. Who knows your mind is completely blank. This phenomenon is off to refer to us the doorway effect. Studies have shown that walking through a doorway exerts an imperceptible influence on memory effect, merely imagining walking through a doorway concept memory and seems to insert a mental divider into it. There isn't for this memory feature is that our brains record memories in segments or episodes rather than a continues event. They don't we? Effect occurs because we change both the physical and mental environments, moving to a different room and thinking about different things. What can we do about it? First of all, don't beat yourself up over it. It says nothing about your intelligence, passion or reliability, because this seems to happen to pretty much everybody. Second, before you leave the room trying to mentally rehearse what you are doing by created a memorable image in your mind for their own, I will show you the method that will help you do this easily. The recommended method is the link method, which we talked about in the previous lesson. Although the principal off Lincoln two things into a memorable image remains valid in this case, we will apply this method in a different way. I remind you the importance of using various streaks to create a unique, absurd, extraordinary mental picture. How to apply the technique to solve this problem? The application of this method will begin before you leave the room. First of all, you need to imagine a special place in the room where you will go, which will help you create an unforgettable image. Dr. Picking out a main focal point in each room. This could be, for example, ah, fireplace, a piece of artwork, a window, a microwave or its elevation stand. Whenever you're about to go into that room to get something or to do something, imagine you're going to take the object and put it into the focal point that you have chosen for the room. Let's take an example for a better understanding of this method. You're in the kitchen standing on a chair and you want to go to take a search and book from the living room before you get up from the chair. Imagine your book burning in the fireplace in your living room by adding more details to this image. Smoke, flames, etcetera. It will be easier to remember when you enter the liver room. All you have to do when you enter the lever room. If you do not naturally remember what you went to the room for is to look at the fireplace . Know when it is your focal point in that room, and you will remember that you are actually looking for a book to the next time you can't remember why you walk from one room to another. Don't be alarmed. Just remind yourself that your brains simply mis constructed instructions from your environment and thought that doorway meant you needed a memory divider. Have remember that you can use them it that that I have just presented 55. 6.3. Here is an example of this method from Brian Tracey's book Speak to Win. Starting from the word success, Brian Tracy explains how to organize a speech about success around is a chromium. This method is an effective way to organize your thoughts and prayers your audience by speaking fluently without notes, using memory techniques for memorizing and delivering your speech. Memorizing the introduction can be a good idea because no one precisely what to say at the beginning of a speech can help you calm down and ease you into the setting. Memorizing the conclusion is also helpful because it prevents you from accidentally falling into a concluded loop in which you continually repeat information as you try to close second, split this speech into chunks. Divide the speech into short, manageable chunks that are between two and three sentences long. 30. Repair a journey with specific storage locations in your memory palace or along your route fourth, form a picture for each chunk, then put it in a specific storage location along the journey. Create a mental image for each part. The more absurd and unique the images, the easier it will be to recall it later in your speech, you need to weave the mental images together. This is his way to do this is to visualize yourself traveling along various locations of serving the pictures in order. Tip. It's always a good option to create a journey in a logical order across the same room where you are supposed to give a speech. Thus all the stages are visible in front of you. And if you are stuck somewhere for whatever reason, you can always look at the next location in your journey and can immediately recall your next point by memorizing the points of your speech. In this way, you will have visual reminders everyone around you in the room and they will automatically trigger you. That points of your speech. That means it must be perceived paid attention to processed in working memory and finally encoded in long term memory. What can we do about it? Memory is like any other discipline. If you don't consistently use it, it can underperform and let you down when you need it most. Like any other worthwhile skill. Here's a method for learning historical dates and events. Hey, memorized a year with a major system. The four digits of a year are converted into two images with them in your system. Two pairs of two tickets are converted into sounds. Then, into images be the action of the date. The event becomes the third image. Now we have three images that only need to be linked in a memorable scene. Let's see some examples in 1961 Yuri Gagarin off us as our becomes the first space man, 1961 equals D B J t. Two plus jet. You can imagine a customer now right in a jet tube around the earth. 14 53 Turks captured Constantinople 14 53 t r L M. Tour Helm. You can imagine a Turk soldier making a tour of Constantinople with a motorcycle helmet on his head. 18 95 Broken Discovered X rays 18 95 T v p l. Imagine broken throwing a TV into pool and X rays coming out of it when you study biology, the biggest problem is the memorization off the late in names off various plants and animals. Harry elects beer bar Bilko not over frothy Nellis Nanny Mind all the silly person she climbs around kinky caves. You can remember the atomic numbers of chemical elements by using to sound the light on the major system. Here are some examples The element Iran has atomic number 26 Tunic six in the major system is an as age Fort Nash became, adding the mathematician John Force Nash Jr. Dressed as a fireman. The element Krypton has atomic number 36 36 In the major system is M and C, H or Mac. Imagine Superman flying at Max B and searching for kryptonite. The Element titanium has atomic number 22 titanium sauna like Titanic 22 in the major system is an end or Nixon. Imagine the ship Titanic sinking with Nixon on the deck. When you are given a messy arithmetic expression, you will need to remember the order off operations. The acronym BENDIS is a mnemonic device that will help you to remember the order off operations, parentheses, first exponents, multiplication and division addition and subtraction. You can also use this sentence method for the same purpose to remember the order of operations. Think of the phrase police Excuse, my dear on Sally. Here is an example of how to use a crow names for learning, coordinating conjunctions in English four and nor but Or yet, If you want to memorize poems, you can use the journey method because some poems described, if it seems you can extract the keywords and then place them as images along a journey for memorizing them in order, repeat on line two or three times before trying to see as a series of images. The challenge of memorizing poetry are the abstract words like hope, loyalty or tolerance. Eat an apple as a nice snack. The Great Lakes can be memorized with your crony homes or by using the sentence method. Surgeon Major hates eating onions. The countries of Central America Police Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama can be remembered by using the sentence. Beat Grandma every hour. Now catch baba. The examples presented in this lesson showed you how to apply the memory techniques in any field you are studying. These methods are used by students around the world when they have to memorize different things for their accents. 60. 6.8. How to learn a new language easily: learning another language for most people is extremely difficult and takes much commitment . But boy foreign languages are so hard to learn. As it's true for most names, see if you can come up with other meaningful associations. For example, if the person's name is Jackson, do I think of Michael Jackson? If a person's name is Jordan, you might think off the basketball player Michael Jordan. See if the name has no meaning. You could break down the word into a substitute ward port idea. For example, if you meet on Mr Baldwin, you might think of a Bob twin. If you meet Mr Lawrence, you might think of some lower ants. It's amazing to know that many people don't even look at the face properly when they meet new people. Be sure to look directly at the person and, as you're being introduced, make eye contact. As you look at the person's face, carefully noticed the personal qualities and distinctive features. Do you have you noticed them? Ask yourself questions such as What color are His eyes aren't a big or small? Does he have a large or small nose? Are her ears large or issue wearing earrings? How to memorize Jokes: in this lesson, I will show you how to use the memory techniques to effectively retain jokes and funny stories. Using humor well is a sign of intelligence and creativity. But although everybody enjoys a good laugh, not all of us find it easy to tell a joke to make people laugh. There's something about most jokes that makes him brilliant at a time, but really hard to hold on to any of your memory. Recent studies it was found that over thousands of people questioned, nearly 80% thought of themselves has no particularly good joke. Tiller's all wanted to be good joke tellers, and Onley said memory as their major obstacle. The memorization of jokes is actually far easier to deal with than their amortization of speeches, because the entire creative aspect of the work has already been done for you. Here is the method you can use. Memorizing jokes involves two steps. First, you must remember to joke to begin with, and second, you must remember its details. For a step, you must cop purity main elements of the jokes and categorize them in agreed or in a mind map, divide the kind of jokes you wish to tell into general categories. For example, animal jokes, bar jobs, doctor jokes, blonde jokes. And so on. Second, the second area involves using the link method for memorizing the details. He resulted works. Let us take, for example, the joke about the police officer who jumps into his squad car and calls the station. I have an interesting case here, he says. A woman shut her husband for stepping on the floor. She just mop. Have you arrested her? Ask the surgeons. No, no jet. The floor still wet to remember. To Joe, you consciously select major keywords from it, joining them to form the basic narrative. All you need from these entire joke are two key memory words. Police officer, woman, chilled husband and wet floor. To complete your memorization used to lick method to connect the four key memory words. With this system, you will be able to remember clearly and categorize whatever jokes you wish. If you want to become a professional comedian, you will need to talk for a long time, in which you will say many jokes, besting from one to another. Anna Logical secession. In this case, you may consider applying the loci method, which will help you memorize large amounts of information in a particular order before you begin a pliant associate. Each joke with a memorable picture such as the blonde and the cell phone, the blonde and a goldfish, the world karate champion in a bar and so on. Then put this image is in a mental palace, meaning a well known place like the rigid use to get your phone door when you get up or your route to work in the morning. This mental journey will give you the order effortlessly, and the weirdness of the images will make them memorable. Have I convinced you? I hope so, because even a small amount of humor can convince people that you are generally more intelligent and skilled in others and will help you garner to respect and support of others . Need your career or your personal life. 63. 7.1. The Memory Training Strategy: does memory training really work? Many memory trainers tell you memories like a muscle, and if you exercise it, it will become stronger. They tell you that memorizing things will make your memory better. But what can improve your memory is the quality of the training, not its amount. The value of memory training lives in what you're doing, not any amount of time spent on this activity. However, Like any other mental faculty or physical function, the memory will tend to atrophy by this use. As I have shown in the first part of the scores. Memory improvement has been a permanent human concern since Asian times has been referred to as one of the world's oldest professions. And in history, there have been people who have achieved amazing performances in this area. Your memory can be trained just like any other human faculty. With the correct techniques, you can teach your memory to do anything you choose. You can improve it by training in practice, in exactly the same way as you do when you learn, play a musical instrument or to speak a foreign language. Memory training techniques work simply because they developed the natural ability of your brain. Besides historical evidence, recent studies suggest that memory training does really work. The studies have also demonstrated the link between memory and intelligence. The reason is that thinking involves streaming into the brains thought engine chunks off information held in working memory. The working memory streams in much like a Web video streams into your computer. The more you can hold in working memory, the more information that bring has to think with that. Is this mortar it can be? Another study provides strong evidence that increasing adult working memory capacity will raise their I Q. Many published reports that working memory capacity can indeed be expended by training. If we now know that memory training makes a smarter, how can we start his activity? Using a treating strategy will help you achieve remarkable results. Because there is no general memory training strategy. I can only give you some proven tips and examples from the memory experts. Based on these tips, you can develop your own mental training plan to get a better understanding of how to set up your memory improvement strategy. Let's review the process by which the memories are created in the brain information processing begins in sensory memory, moves to short term memory and eventually moves into long term memory. Sensory memory is an ultra short term memory and the case very quickly after the perception of an item. Then the information passes into the short term memory. When you are reading a sentence, your short term memory stores the beginning of the sentence when you are reading the rest of it so that you could comprehend the whole short term. Memory is also known as the working memory. It holds the information you are currently thinking about for between 10 and 20 seconds and usually retains no more than about seven pieces off information at once. Here in the short term, memory is a starting point for every memory technique, my observation, attention and retention. The information can become an unforgettable long term memory. Therefore, observation, attention and retention under directions we need to focus on in our strategy for improving memory. Now let's see the steps for creating an efficient memory training strategy. First start by taking a memory course before you begin your memory training. It's a good idea to learn the basics. It is recommended that you have a well equipped toolkit and that you can use it effectively , since you will use different memorizing strategies in different situations. This course can be the starting point of your journey to improving your memory as it offers you the full range of techniques you need for this purpose. Second half ago, whether you want to be the smartest guy in your firm or you want to become world memory champion having a gold mixed arrest of the steps clearer starting memory training without having an objective is like going on a journey without a destination, said your Gold Way. Be under current abilities to give yourself something to work towards, identified the areas of your life where you would benefit from a more powerful memory focusing on them. We'll give you the incentive to continue in your Beth toe. Work a better memory. Third, use your imagination. Improving memory is based on mental images. These are two brains alphabet. For this reason, memory training is actually a training of your imagination. This realization place an important role in this process. If something can be visualized, it can be easily remembered. Practice creative visualization exercises. The skill involves creativity and imagination, improving visualization will improve these two correlated skills as well, the greater to details of the mental images you create to greater to skill. Four. Train your brain's ability to create associations association's means binding together of two things and create a link through which one of them will bring to the light, the other from the depths of memory. Speed, accuracy and strength in associations are all essential components of having a perfect memory. Your training reaction time is very important to get better results in memory competitions , and it can only be improved by sustained training. You can increase your ability to associate by engaging your brain in association games like it's example from the writer Umberto Eco. Go from sausage to Plato in Five Steps by Association of Ideas. Let's see Sausage Big Brussel paintbrush, Mannerism idea Plato. The idea is to use a few words as possible in order to co relate any two items. Five. Keep a memory journal. It is the first step to remembering anything is paying attention. Being attentive to your memory processes will help you focus on remembering more by keeping a memory journal. You create a baseline from where you are now and contract your progress. If you move to where you want to be, take a look at your goal and figure out what sort of training it it will take to achieve it . The training should be just beyond your ability. This will also change often, and each time it does re type it up as clearly as possible in your memory journal, use a notebook or computer file to record your training results. You will see how your performance and skill increase and what tremendous progress we're making. Here's an example on how you can organize your memory journal. Six. Make a decision. The most important thing you can do is making a decision and committed to follow through. Nothing comes easy, but it doesn't mean it is in front to consistently challenge yourself in attempt to reach levels that you never thought were possible. Your training will never be easy. This means that you need to continuously make your training more difficult even before it feels like you should. If you keep working at the same level day in and day out, you'll never get any better. Seven foot ever that are no short goods in memory training. Great things take effort to achieve Everyone who scooted something has putting the effort no exceptions. Excellence and success often looks like an overnight phenomenon for outsiders. When the reality is the result of years of dedication and practice tirelessly undertaken behind the scenes, no great thing was created. Overnight side effects. If you start consistent memory training besides improving it, you will also notice an improvement in the overall quality of your life. It will become easier for you to think creatively to generate images, ideas and thoughts in all walks of your life. You will become more efficient of performance everyday task of varying complexity, from writing a simple list to operating technical equipment. One of the important side effects off memory training is a better organization of your life , a clarification off your goals and the path to achieve them. 64. 7.2. Your Memory Training Schedule: after learning what memory training is about in this lesson, we'll see some examples of training schedule. Learn from well known memory experts because each person is different. You will need to create your old style of training the effort and time you will spend. A memory training will be related to your personal goal that makes you want to improve your memory. I'm just trying to tell you that anyone can get amazing results in this area, regardless of education, age or other condition. Ing's none of the top competitors in the memory competitions with claim to be born with a great memory. All of them have learned all the necessary techniques to develop their skills and have practised to a high level to get them to the top of the sport. In the book Moonwalking with Einstein, The Art and Science Off Remembering Everything, a book that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to start their memory training journey, the author Joshua, four, writes about the advice he received from the memory expert Tony Bazan, co founder of the World Memory Championships, on how do organize his memory training schedule If you want to make it into the top three of the U. S. Championship would be a good idea to spend an hour a day, six days a week. If you spent that much time, you do very well. If you wanted to enter the world Championship, you need to spend 3 to 4 hours a day for the final six months leading up to the championship against Heavy. Another example of a training program is presented in Dominica. Bryant's book. You Can Have an Amazing Memory. Here's how the weekly training schedule, often eight time world memory champion looks like another top mental athlete. Johnny Brian's Annville. History and schedule. 10 minutes of spoken numbers. I do this right when I wake up. Either Memorize the numbers are just listen to them. Picturing my images 30 minutes of system training. I spent time working on my different systems. I ran through making sure I know my images, and I tried to think about how can I expand my systems? But in the most simplest way, 30 minutes of events, usually right after deceased in training, I spent time practicing the events. I like to practice the events I feel good about because it starts today off nicely. One hour off memory challenge. I currently have a memory challenge I am training for, so I have to do mock practices of that one hour off Evan training. Later in the afternoon. I do some more Evan training, but this time I focus on events said, I am not doing so hard in, but I make sure I finished training with an event I like just to win my training. On a good note, 10 minutes of spoken numbers. Before I go to bed, I practice spoken numbers again. I either memorize the numbers or just listen to them. Victory. My images. Bam Brit More, the creator of a very complex system for memorizing playing cards spent nine hours per week memorizing the sequences office many packs of cards as he could have percent of these examples for you to see how seriously these Hami can become. If you want to achieve top performances, you need to see how the mental athletes train their memory to win the competitions they're attending. But after your start your memory training, I recommend you set up your own training schedule. Taylor to your own goals. Now let's see some guidelines to keep in mind when creating your own training schedule. Less is more. Doing 20 to 30 minutes a day is better than doing one hour every other day, which is better than four hours three times a week. Longer training sessions can actually be less effective, the shorter once for a lot of reasons. When you know you'll be spending an hour or do for memory draining, you're much more likely to skip your training altogether when life gets busy and it makes sense an hour. It's a long time to commit to when you've got a 1,000,000 other things going on. But with short, intense interval workouts, that excuse is no longer valid because everyone has an extra 20 or 30 minutes a day. Be creating a flexible In order to attend your memory training goals, you need to figure out the kind of scheduling that works best for you. So people feed their morning training while others prefer to do their training in the evening or at night. Either way is fine. It's whatever works better for your type of person, be realistic sitting. Really Securing objectives may be the most critical. Get the most overlooked face of the entire memory improvement process. This does not mean you do not have to push yourself to do something extra in today, nothing comes easy, but it doesn't mean it is important to consistently challenge yourself an attempt to reach levels that you never thought were possible. Don't say you are going to practice four hours a day. In the beginning, you will bring yourself out. You may even find yourself working up to that level, but really it will exhaust you. You'll give up and not come back if you do that from the start. Instead, try happen out where a day and find out how difficult it is doing that the most common failure is over shooting your training difficulty level. If you said a daily training practice of memorizing 100 numbers in five minutes and you're not getting beyond 50 maybe it's too high. Keep training to get there for a couple of days. Don't give up right away because you want to keep telling yourself. But if it's still way beyond your reach, tried to scale back event 65. 7.3.
