1. Applications That Can Make Your Life Easier : Oh, okay. So in this video, we're gonna be talking about some APS that can make your life easier. Um, there are about 54 to 5 APS that you can use for Lincoln, but they are all already existent on linked in. But the ops just make your life a bit easier. So job search is something that is already on LinkedIn. And we talked about it before, Um, Lincoln learning as well linked in sly chair lengthen sales. Navigator. Um, Lincoln Recruiter. Lincoln Elevate Lincoln l've It is a fairly new up. I don't have a lot of information about it yet, and you can see there's not A lot of people are using it yet, even But I'm gonna learn more about it. And I'm gonna update you guys if it's if I think it's important. Yeah. Lincoln Recruiter. A Zavala's a fairly new one, but you can see you guys the old ones like sales navigator that's already on linked in. Um, the difference is the slight share the sales navigator, the Lincoln Learning. Um, they're not accessible on on the application. I tried looking for them on the up, but it's not that easy. Um linked in there we are. So yet when you go on the home page, uh, you have them all here on your on your right. But if you click on any of them, that would redirect you to the APP store or Google Play Store Feud using an android. But, however, if you're using your computer, you don't need to download the apse. So basically using only the up you won't have access to these features. You'll have to download the APP. Otherwise, you can just skip downloading the APP and just use the desktop version, which I think is even easier than the job search app, Learning sales, Navigator recruiter or even the Lincoln APP itself is better on the desktop than on the phone. 2. Building Connections : so and this lecture we're gonna be talking about, Um I think this is the most important lecture you guys are going to listen to, which is building connections. I have 5543 connections for now. And you guys saw that three days ago. I hire 3900. No. Hi. How did I go from 3 3900 to 5543 connections in three days? Well, first, I joined a lot of groups when he joined groups. People connect with you. When you start conversations on groups, people connect with you. And that's what I did. I saw a lot of different conversations just by asking questions. I did not even follow up with the conversations. I just did it to build more connections. And it worked. I worked on my ass yo and you guys saw how my search appearance increased. Therefore, my connections also increased. I also worked on boasting more. I added some posts. A lot of people saw them. A lot of people like them and my connections increased. And above all that I added my contacts. I still have a couple that I did not add because I'm not in contact with them anymore. You can always find people nearby. You just turned on the blue with the blue tooths and then linked and will connect you to be to people nearby. In your area, in your city, in your country, whatever. You have the invitations, you can see people who see 39 invitations. Look at that later. But you guys can see that the invitations eventually they're gonna build up. A lot of people will want to connect with you, and then you have the people. You may know these are based on. They sound similar interest in similar connections, so you guys can see a lot of them are. For example, Carleton University and University of Ottawa tells our School of Management are the top schools in Ottawa. So that's why there's a lot of them marketing students right here, student, part time, University of Ottawa, Computer Science, University of Ottawa. Eso Most of them are Algonquin Isas well, in Ottawa, so you can see a lot of them are our connections from school, and there's a lot of them were gonna be connections from industry. Now, the magic formula that I use. Some people won't recommend that I personally would recommend it, because I positive it is a way that can boost your linked in in a way that you've never even thought about before. Um, I just click, connect, connect with everybody. Just connect, connect, connect. I connect with every single person. I don't care if I know them. I don't care if they're helpful for me right now. I don't care if they are in my industry right now, because you know what? You're never gonna know where you're gonna be in 10 years. You're never going to know who's help you might need in in a few years, right? Um so that being said, having more connections and more connections and more connections, no matter where they're from, no matter what the background is is helpful for you. It is. It is. When you post something with more, you get, the more connections you get, the more your connections will increase. Now, when you both something you don't have 238 connections seeing it, you have 6000 connections seeing it. OK, now, as I said, even if they're not all related to your to your industry. When you write a blawg about, for example, the new is to Graham algorithm, not not Onley. Social media marketing people would be interested. No, most people would be interested because everybody's on instagram. When you write a good article about an issue that is rising right now, this something that interests everybody. So by having all these different connections, not only will you be getting connections from different industries, so eventually, if you got into any industry on linked and you'll have people who are gonna see it, we're gonna engage with it, right? But other than that, you're gonna have this diversity, this huge diversity on a huge number of people. If you connect with 500 people every day and it's so easy, like, look how fast you can do it like it's so easy. This is the worst part. When you click on a name by mistake, then you just kind of have to exit the job to be able to see you again. But, um, it's easy. Just connect with people. Everybody will accept your connection. A lot of people will send you a message saying Hey, like thanks for connecting whatever sent, connect with everybody and through groups as well. Connect with every connect with a lot of people in your group. People you start a conversation with who replied to you. Uh, you know, just connect with them. Connect with your friends with your families, the more connections you have. If you have 100,000 connections and you post something, I can assure you you're gonna get a lot of post fusing getting at a lot of engagement. If you both something. General, I posted a picture two days ago. Um, I think the quote was little check. I think two or three days ago Oh, so I could post use. Okay, here's four days ago. So this right here when you feel down, remember why you started. This is this is a general quote. You guys can see almost 1500 views and 31 likes. This is one of the top posts that I did so far. And when did that boost happen? It happened when I started using the methods that I'm teaching you guys right now. Okay. Building a lot of connections working on the issue. Everything we talked about before, including this building the connections tip. These are the most essential things that can dramatically change your linked and journey. I'm gonna talk about a few more things before ending the course. A few more things that are actually really important as well. I kept the best information for last, so I think three or four more lectures and then we'll be good to go. 3. Your Professional Profile Picture : Okay, guys. So in this lecture, we're gonna talk about your profile picture. Now, your profile picture is the first thing that people are gonna look at when they go on your profile. So if you have a bad profile picture, you're gonna give a bad first impression. You never get a second chance to do first impression. So that being said, your profile picture needs to be decent. You don't want to put your picture on the beach even though I'm pretty sure that your picture on the beach would look awesome. But it's not a good fit for a Lincoln. You want something professional, you don't necessarily have to wear suit. Some people wear shirts and people wear suits. Some people just wear a regular T shirt. Oh, are polo whatever you can wear whatever you want. As long as the picture looks decent, as long as you see that the picture is good enough for Lincoln because, as I said, this is your professional profile. People who are going to look at your profile are not people who wanna date. You are not people. I mean, it might happen, but most of the majority are not people who want to date you. They're people who wanna see your professional background. There are people who might eventually want to do business with you. They might want to hire you. They might want to work with you. They might want to ask anything related to work, right? So, as an example, my own profile picture. I don't remember where that wasn't thinking it was at a dinner or something. So you guys can see. And of course I'm wearing a suit, and it's, um it's a professional picture that was taken of me. I did not use any SELFIES. Of course, you don't want to use a selfie you don't wanna see in the arm extended. Taking a selfie on your lengthen profile. That's that's bad. Um, let me give you guys some other examples. For example, us. One of my friends, Um, yeah, so you can see this picture, for example. It's a professional picture. Of course it is not. He's not wearing a suit. He's not wearing a shirt, but it's suitable for Lincoln. Um, it's not a selfie. It's a good picture. On the other hand, there are other profiles that you know, the kind of picture, for example, like this one, for example, eso picture wearing a suit. It's a professional picture. Obviously, some people wear shirts. As I said, it doesn't matter what you're wearing. What matters is, is the picture good enough for it? For lengthen or not, you want to make sure that the picture is professional. You want to make sure that if somebody sees this picture, they will not get a bad first impression. Career wise professional wives and that's it for your profile picture. 4. Choosing A Cover Photo : Okay, guys. So in this lecture, we're gonna be talking about your cover photo. Um, having a good cover photo is essential. Um, you can see my own cover photo. It's for for the company, for my company, QinetiQ pace, social media and digital marketing company s. So you can see the theme. This is kind of related to with the logo, with all the social media icons right under the logo, the mission or the slogan that we have for more updates. Whatever. This is the cover photo that I'm using. When people go on my profile, they'll be able to see that there is a cover photo they control down to see it on other devices. They might be able to see it right away on the computer. And you guys were able to see When you log into the end on the computer, you'll be able to see that there's your picture on the left or on the right, and right behind you, the entire cover photo shows. So a lot of people don't have any cover photos. Take the same examples life, for example. He doesn't have any cover photos, and it's fine. Most people don't Um, but let's say you want to stand out. Um, give the same other example and then so name and what he does. Sales, communications and marketing eso when people go on his profile may be able to see in summary, What does he do? He does sales. He does communications. He does marketing. They see his profile picture they're gonna get They get a good first impression, right? If you have a bad profile picture and you don't have a cover photo you had over, you have a really bad cover photo. I've seen some, like, blank with with a quote that can barely you can barely see on the phone, which is not good. Like this gives a bad first impression. Um, and then the next lecture, I'm going to show you guys actually, how? How you'll be able to create your own cover photo very easily. But yeah, that's it for cover photos of next lecture. I'll show you how to do it, and we'll be good to go 5. Your Professional Cover Photo : Okay, guys. I'll show you how to do it, and we'll be good to go 6. The Current Position : um So now we're going to talk about your current position on your current position Is what you are working out, what you're doing at the time. Um, so you can see my current position is social media and marketing expert at QinetiQ Pace. Um, of course, some people, um, have other jobs. You just put whatever you whatever you do, you just put it the way you do it. You want to add a title? What do you do? Lincoln has all the different suggestions. Let's say your software development engineer, the company name. Let's say you work with Microsoft's Microsoft go location. Whatever. You don't have to put a location when the work you're working currently working here? Um, yeah. And you put the description. What do you do when at some media, external documents, photos, sites Just right here. You can upload or put the link, um, and then you save it, and that's it. You're gonna have the position listed as as your current position. No, The big question is, what do you do if you don't have a job? If you're currently unemployed and seeking a job, what do you do? So it's It's as easy as that first in the previous lectures. Are you talked about your headline? So my headline is social media and digital marketing expert? No, your headline can be, as I said before seeking internships seeking job as a software engineer. 10 for example. Senior software developer seeking whatever. Whatever kind of job Web development job you can put. Um, senior? Ah, I don't know. Senior bank manager, branch manager, seeking a job in real estate, man. Whatever you want, you can put whatever you do in whatever you're seeking, and then you go to your current position, okay? And he put the last company you worked, you worked for. You put the title what you were at the company's name location from to you put the date when when you stopped. And then you put the description that you stopped working at this company and you're currently looking for other opportunities and this or that domain, whatever. Whatever kind of opportunities you're seeking, whether it's an internship, whether it's a job, whether it's I don't know ah, collaboration. You put in the description he might win at some media. You might want at some links. If you find that it's necessary or you find that you want to upload something and then you save it and you're good to go. It's gonna when they go to your last job experience, they're going to be They're going to see that. Okay, You're not working there anymore. And they're gonna ask themselves, You're gonna taken a click on it, too. Basically see more information about the company or more information about you, and they'll be able to get all the information, especially based on the headline that says seeking a job or seeking an internship. 7. Optimizing Your Profile For SEO : Okay, so now we're gonna talk about, um your profiles. ASIO optimization. How can you appear when people served for specific words? Um, as you guys can see, I have 83 search appearances. Um, a lot of people who viewed my profile and you know it. It just works accordingly. When people when you appear, when people search for something and you appear and the search engine people will view your profile and it just works like that. Now, the only way to there are different weights. A lot of different things you need to work on in order for you to optimize your search engine and appear in different keywords when people search for them. Um, first thing is to completely fill out your profile. In the previous section, you guys understood the basics of how to fill out your profile. Now, there's a lot of other things that we're gonna work on, like skills and endorsements, accomplishments, interests and groups that we haven't talked about yet. But I'm gonna tell you guys more about them in later lectures. For now, I'm just going to give you briefly some information about s he'll optimization starting with filling out your profile. So you want to use descriptive words. If you are an S e o uh, optimization expert, you don't just want to put on your profile. S E O, for example, you want to put a CEO of expert If you do, if you do social media, if you're a social media manager, you don't just want a social media. You want a social media manager, you need to describe what you do. Everything that you put needs to have a description that follows it. Otherwise, it will be kind of difficult for people to find you, because when people are looking for certain things on Lincoln, most probably they're looking for people in a certain field, right? You want people if you're and if here, let's say, a financial accounting expert, you would want people who are interested in financial counting people who have job offers for in financial counting careers. You want them to find you so that being said, you need to add description related to financial accounting using descriptive words. Financial, accounting manager, financial counting, expert. Whatever the position is, you need to fill it in with good, good descriptive words, and that doesn't just go for your headline. That goes for the job opportunities that goes for the education that goes for everything on your profile, you need to use descriptive words. Now, when you're first starting in on Lincoln, Lincoln has a tool that helps you. It guides you through everything. And if you're in your toe linked and as soon as you start using the up, you're gonna notice that Lincoln is helping you throughout the process there helping you choose the right words. They're they're helping you fill out your profile to an extent where people would find you when they search for something. Now, of course, it's not perfect. That's why you need to do some adjustments to optimize the search appearances. Basically, it's all related to what you want. If you want people in social media to find you, if you just use descriptive words and you try to use the lengthen tool in a way that optimizes the word social media manager, social media expert, One last quick thought, Don't don't go overboard. You don't want to put social media manager and experts whatever an s e o optimization filling up a lot of details. Don't go overboard. If you do want to put if you have different things that you do, separate them, don't go overboard and add all this information at once. If you're a social media expert and digital marketing expert, you separate them with an end, right? If you do difference up, let's say you do photography videography, photo editing, video, anything you want to put foot photography and then you put a comma or you put a line that separates the photography videography. You separate. Show your guys real quick. So the profile and let's say right here what you write is photography and you separate it videography when you separated. Video editing separated and it goes like that, right? Um, so that's it for the first part. Next, we're gonna talk about getting your own custom. U R l So, yeah, that's it for this lecture, guys. 8. Expanding Your Network : so and this lecture we're gonna talk about expending your network and how this can affect the S u. You guys can see I have a lot of followers, and throughout the course, you guys will see how my followers will increase dramatically. When I first started recording Theis course yesterday, I had If I'm not mistaken 3900 followers on Justin in less than 24 hours, I was able to get almost 1000 followers, and we'll walk through that later. I'm gonna show you guys how you could do it very, very easily. It is gonna take some work, but, I mean, there's no tricks to grow Your Lincoln, you need to put in the work, so expanding your network. First off, the more people you have, the more people will view your profile. This will help in the S e o Second, the more people you know on your on your website on your different social media platforms where you have your linked in your l, the more people will click on it, and the more it will rank up in the CEO, so expanding your network is essential not just not just in the digital world. If you have a business card, try to put your linked in your l is gonna be a simple a simple your linked in slash I end Slasher name, for example. Very simple when people would look for you. People want to search for you as as easy as that. They're going to go on the web. They're gonna boast they're gonna based, um the U R l and they're gonna find you. And with that happens, it's gonna boost. It's gonna boost your CEO. There's no doubt about it. Try to direct all your expanded network to your linked in profile. And the more this happens, the more your s e o more appearances. You will have in different searches that people do, the more guilt rank up in the search engine. And right now I have 83 search appearances. I'm going to show you guys how, by implementing a few of these tips that I'm telling you about right now how my search appearance will rank up. Of course, I'm recording this course in four days. This is the goal. So search appearances are not going to increase by a lot by the time I finish this course, ASIO takes time. It might even not change, but through other process throughout the days it's going to start going up. And as soon as it does, I'm gonna update the course and show you guys how? By applying these tips and tricks, the search appearances increased dramatically, so that's it for expanding your network. 9. Advertising On LinkedIn: Okay, so now we're going to talk about advertising Arlington. So, in the same section, our work next to learning you're gonna find advertise, you click on it and you'll be redirected to this fate right here. No, um, there's a lot of different advertising that you can do. A Lincoln. I'm not going to go through all of them because eventually, if you're interested in advertising at any point, this is a lot of information, but you'll be able to find everything you need on Lincoln. So based on that, you just go on, create odd, and then you're gonna have all the different options, right? You need a sponsor content. You need two dynamic Audi needed text. I do need a sponsored in male. You just choose whatever you want and you'll be able to learn more about it. So what can you do with sponsored content? You can publish your content location most you'd buy lengthened visitors and you can read the rest right. Dynamic ads. It's different text as it's different. So you choose whatever you need. Look through what this specific ad can do for you through the learn more section. And based on that you'll be able to tell if this is something you want to go for, and once you do, you select it and then you'll be redirected to another page where you will be able to put the information but the account name currency. You click on next and you just you'll be filling. A lot of information will get started. Lincoln will help you build the course. You have a campaign name and you have all the information that you need. But on the ad. And then as soon as it's ready, you put a budget and then you can lives to add. And, of course, there's a lot of analytics. There's a lot of different tools offered by Lincoln that can help you through the advertising process. But again, I can't go through the entire advertising process. As as there's a lot of information to cover. This is an entire course by itself. Lengthen advertising is so broad, it's not just like Facebook. There's a lot of different ins and outs when it comes to advertising on Lincoln. But the basics are. If you want to put some advertising on Lincoln, go on the advertise page, choose whatever suitable for you and follow link things instructions. Eventually, Lincoln will give you better instructions than any instructor can 10. Career Advice On LinkedIn: So in this lecture, we're gonna talk about the career advice section that I showed you guys in the previous lecture and the cure advice. You're basically getting an advice in your field in your career from experts in this field , so going through it really fast it's a very, very simple process. Do you want to choose who you're getting advice from first or second degree network? First year for us, Not for second degree network networks of your networks. For example. You want to see in your region or from your school maybe somebody in your region that eventually you can meet with in person somebody from from your school that you can also meet with in person and discuss it. Discuss it further. You can just choose all of them. You can choose one of them. You can choose whatever you want. Um, you wanna you wanna put with the job function? Is someone with experience in what you can choose all the different options. You have somebody in the legal department, media and communications operations designed consulting. You choose whatever you want and the industry sector, a sector you want also choose. What's the industry that he's in. You write a small description info of what kind of advice? What's the best way to acquire class for social media and marketing agency, in your opinion, for example, and people will be able to give you advice based on that. Examples lengthen helps you with some examples that you can write so people can help you mawr so you could be more specific and eventually but that you're looking for advice. You save it, and you're gonna have different options in front of you. Guys will see right here gonna have all these different people read a car stalls selling zoo Kylie torque and you'll be able to start a conversation with them, talk to them and be able to get some information out of them. 11. Career Interests : Now we're gonna talk about another very interesting tool provided by Lincoln, which is career interest that you confined in your dashboard now, before we talked about some things that you can do on your on your foot on the front end of your profile to make recruiters know that you are currently searching for a job, even though some people don't recommend putting these things in your headline. In my experience, I found that it is effective. People who tried it found that it is very effective to add the's information that you're looking for a certain job or certain internship position in your in the front end of your profile. However, career interests can also help recruiters find you So first, of course, you want to put that you want to let recruiters know that you're open on my case. I'm not. But let's say okay, you want to put a note for your recruiters, maybe a specifying some information about yourself, some basic information that would help them assess you better. But anyways, um, you want to put status? Where are you in search? Your actively applying got all the information, the pages really straightforward. I don't even have to explain it for you guys. You be able to find all the information that you need. It is very easy to go through it. When would you like to start? You had the titles that you're considering. The locations. What kind of job? Full time contract, whatever. What size of company do you like to work with On what's the industry? And then you go to jobs and that's it. The recruiters will know then that you're currently looking for a position. If they're interested, they will see your profile. And based on that, they will be able to assess if you're a good candidate. And if you are, you're gonna have your contact information on your profile. We're gonna talk later about having very good contact information on your profile so recruiters can contact you easily. Otherwise they will contact you on Lincoln. Andi will be good to go there. Be able to easily find you if you have. If you have what they're looking for, 12. The LinkedIn Communities : Okay, guys. So in this lecture, we're gonna talk about a fairly new concept you guys can see right here in the bottom left corner. There's something called your communities. Now you can discover mawr at it. Just what you're gonna basically be doing is adding hashtag that you're interested in. For example, if you're interested in marketing you but hashtag marketing hashtag digital marketing if you're interested in engineering people hashtagged soft engineering house, the hashtag civil engineer hashtag engineer. And it goes from there. Now, what Lincoln does is Aziz, is that the update your feet based on you, the communities and the higher stocks you're following. So when you put specific hashtags that are related to your work, this will help Lincoln, but stuff related to what you do in your feet. So therefore you will not be wasting your time going through feeds. That has absolutely nothing to do with what you do as a job or what you have as a company. Rather, you will see relevant feed and relevant contents that can eventually help you grow your profile, grow your connections and then maybe grow your business 13. Your Custom URL: So in this lecture, we're gonna talk about having your own custom, your l putting it everywhere and some more information about content and visibility. Um, eventually, this is all for you to be able to optimize the search under appearances. So, having your own custom, your l I'll show you guys how I got here. Um, you have your profile right here on the corner. Right corner top, right corner. You have edit public profile in your own, you click on that and boom, you have this page you can. You guys can see my own your l It's linked in dot com my name. And that's it, right? You want something short? Simple Something that people tend easily. Copy. Um, if somebody else is using your l that you want to use, try to think about ways to change the your l in a way that it becomes personal for you. You don't want people to be searching for something and have different your l's appearing in front of them, including yours than most. Probably. There's a big chance that they might click on other your ills and not see yours or not click on yours. Eso that being said use a simple, catchy your L that fits your profile. And that stands out. No, Um, added visibility, of course, for you to appear and mawr searches. You want to edit your visibility in a way that, of course, your profile mints to be public. If anybody has privacy matters or issues, you can just disregard this section. But it will affect the search search appearances for your profile and you guys can just see that this is the best way. That is the best visibility set up to half for you to appear in a lot of different searches . You guys conceive profile this public basic required number connections, industry region profile photo. Everybody can see it headline all my different details. Everybody can see them. Andi, that's it. See, my profile right here says what I'm doing. Where lived the industry car positions? Previous business positions in an education, connections, profile, picture and name. And that's it. Um, now, very important. Tip your l your own. You are l you want to put it on a ZMA much place? Is this possible? Twitter, instagram, Facebook. Um, articles that You're right. If you publish an article somewhere Blawg website anywhere this u R l needs to be everywhere because the mortar you are else spreads around on the Web, the more it will optimize your your l and the more people will be able to find you, more people will be able to click on your profile and therefore you get a lot more connections and a lot more business opportunities out of it. 14. Education : um So now and this lecture I want to briefly talk about your education. Um, just under the current position, there is the education. As you guys can see, I go to the University of Ottawa. Um, not depends on on what level of education you got to. Um I had my secondary diploma and and I'm now I'm seeking my bachelor degree. Of course, if you got a master's, an n b a c p a, c f a and you guys know best. Now I have to tell you these things, you need to put it in terms of education and in the education section, you want to put the highest education level you got to. So if cf A is the highest degree you got so far, you want to put it in the education section? Of course you want add everything else now, um, something that some people do this mistake. And if they do a certain certification, they put it as as education. Now, some certifications need to be listed as education, especially those that you accomplish with any certification that you get from us from university or from a college. Um, these are certifications that you want to put in your in the education section, However, there are certifications like the ones you get from Google from Shopify, whatever you can't. But these certifications as education, it's better to put them in the certification section at the end of your profile page, and we're gonna talk more about these certifications and accomplishments than afterwards. But for now, the main thing you guys need to keep in mind right under the headline just named the company. And right next to it, there is the education that's essential. You need to update your education So anybody who goes on your profile will be able to tell which school you went to or what school you went to before, what school you're going to right now, or even what school you got accepted in. And you're gonna start going there in the next month or next semester in next year 15. Listing The Experience: Now I want to give you guys some tips about the experience section unlinked, and you don't want to put a lot of stuff, even even if you've done a lot of different stuff. When you get to a certain level in your career, for example, you cannot put that you're, ah, a Boy Scout on Lincoln. You cannot put, for example, that you worked as a waiter when you were 14 years old. You just can't. And even if you do, this is not gonna help in terms of credibility. It might even hurt in terms of credibility. Um, you need to put stuff that are relevant if at the time you're looking for a job in marketing and you have past experiences in customer service and in different areas, that's fine. But as long as it's some professional experience that you had not just something that you did to get some extra pocket money, and even if you did it, even if you did something related to get some extra pocket money, it's fine. As long as it's something related, something professional, it doesn't matter what you did. A Zilong as you see that it's suitable to be put in terms of your experience. And, of course, you want the placement to be. This is how Lincoln does it the most recent to the oldest one. And, of course, try to choose the company rate so you can have the picture on the left. You're gonna have the organization's name. You're gonna have what you did when you worked there till what day, how long you stayed there. And, um, as I said, use once used the actual company stage because with the picture it looks it looks much nicer than putting a company without a picture. A company without a picture. We talked about this before, said most companies do have company pages because it adds credibility. When you see a company with no page, your picture and your description, nothing, um, it will hurt their their credibility. 16. Get Skills And Endorsements : So we thought before a bit about skills and endorsements, the way you should add your skills and endorsements, and I'm going to repeat it so you can put a lot of skills and endorsements. You guys can see all the different skills endorsements that I put for myself, but they're always the top three skills. These stuff. Three skills need to be related to your industry. You might not be in just the one industry. A lot of entrepreneurs are in several industries. So maybe one skill, one crucial skill for industry. And then you have all the different self industry knowledge rate tools and technologies linked in kind of separates than between different categories. No, when people go on your on your home page, when they go on on the home page and they see your skills and endorsements, they see the top three skills and endorsements and they'll be able to endorse you right away. Know even if they want to go step further, they can see all your skills and endurance, and they say they can see all your skills and they can endorse you in each and every skill . Now the question is how to make people endorse you how to get endorsements. Now. It's very simple. When I when I was first starting the course, Um, sorry when I first started linked and I did not have any kind of endorsements, and I did not put any skills and endorsements at first because I did not know it was important. But after I realized that and I realized how I could do it, um, it's very simple. So you basically just go on people's profiles and you endorse them? Yes, it's gonna take time, but if for everything 10 people you indoors, you get one person was gonna endorse you back. Um, if you do this for 100 people, that's 10 endorsements for each and every skill. You do it for 200 people. That's 20 endorsements. You can every day to spend five minutes going each profile and endorse people. Let's make it a habit, and you will get to time where you have hundreds of endorsements in each and every skill in that it boosts your credibility. It boosts your search engine optimization. When people go go on your profile and they see that you have, for example, 145 endorsements in social media marketing. They're going to say this guy knows what he's doing, otherwise he wouldn't get 100 and 45 endorsements. Um, I'm gonna I told you guys before how I had 85 search appear says that I told you that in the next thing I'm gonna show you how I was going to change and it did, and also viewed your profile the post years, everything changed, right? It's all increasing. And I'm gonna also show you guys how by playing the same strategy that I'm talking about right now is going to other people endorsing them and even sending them a message saying, Hey, I loved your skills and I endorsed you All would love if you could endorse me back, get really helpful. If you could endorse me back, Thank you so much. People would do it. Not all of them. Tell me some people are just gonna ignore you, but some people will endorse you, and that's what you need. You need some people who are going to endorse you for you to be able to build a big by bay to get to a point where you have a lot of endorsements on your featured skills. 17. Group Highlights : So, um, next to the advertised section in the workmen, you you guys are going to find my groups now. We talked before about groups and how they are essential for you in terms of s u optimization search engine optimization. So that being said, when you go on my group's, you'll be able to see, uh, your most active groups, you'll be able to access them, see how many conversations a day they have. You'll be able to discover more groups will be able to review your own groups, and you'll be able to browse through the feats of what was going on in the different groups that you're following and you guys can see. For example, my groups that I'm following are mostly related to marketing and social media. That's it marketing in social media, because this is what I do. But your group list might look different depending on what kind of groups you want. You want to join based on your interest based on your job and everything, but yeah, When you go on on the discover section, you're gonna be able to see a lot of related groups, and you can just ask them to join, and as soon as the as soon as the creator or whatever the owner of the group approves it, this group has 1.17 to 40 members. That's huge. You know how many people you know, how many people you can reach such a group? A lot, a lot injurious social media success. And you know there is. There's a strength when it comes to smaller groups, because when there's a lot of people okay, they're gonna boast so many things that even if you both something Thea, other people supposed are going to overcome it very easily. But when you have a smaller group like 5000 people, 10,000 people, it's easier to post stuff and get engagement and get impressions and get people to like your to follow your to connect with you. But yeah, I mean, join us as money, as many groups as you want it. It's It's good, it's good, it's helpful. It adds a lot of value to your your search engine and you'll be connected to a lot of people. Ah, lot of these people will start connecting with you. A lot of these people might talk to you, they might, you know, they might have some kind of opportunity after they view your profile at the more groups you're connected to, the better and there's no harm in it is just connect to as many groups as possible. Why not? And the last thing I want to talk about in terms of groups is creating a group. As I said before, I never created a group myself. I have friends who did, and I helped them create groups, and we got a lot of a lot of members on the group's now creating a group promoting it. Also, that's that's a big, big, big of course, right, because eventually you can leverage the power of a group to do wonders. Unlinked in as easy is that the reason why I didn't do it is because I don't have the time at the moment to create a group. But at one point when I do find the time, I think that this is one of the most necessary things unlinked and because it opens a lot of doors for you, especially that you're gonna be the one who created this group, so you'll have whoever wants to join a group needs to ask you, you know, so it's kind of nice. Plus, you have a lot of people on the group and you'll be able to connect with each and every one of them. The group that had 1.1 million people. Imagine if you own this group. And every time somebody asked you to join, you said yes and you connected with him, even if not all of them connected with your back. Even if just half of them imagine you having 500,000 connections on LinkedIn. Just imagine that, right. I'm gonna show you guys later on how you can be able to get a lot of connections. But we'll get to it for now, that's all what it is about groups. 18. Your Headline: OK, guys. Now we're gonna talk about your headline. Your headline is the thing that's written under your name. Um, the thing written in bulls if you go if you click on the pen on the rate it's this thing right here. Headline. Okay, now, your headline basically is after people see your picture, maybe recover photo in your name, they're going to look at the headline. Um, the headline is one of the most essential things on your profile. That's why it's right under your name. And that's why it's written in bold. This will basically show people show people are going on your profile who you are or what you're seeking. A lot of people they use the headline to ask him. For example, they put marketing students seeking internship in Toronto, for example. Um, at one point I needed salespeople for the company. So I put, um, sit hiring salespeople like Kinetic Pace Ottawa as a headline. Right. Um, I'll give you guys some other examples of headlines, um, using the same people as examples. Um, so, senior accountant, There you go. No other one. Okay. Journey, sales and marketing specialist at QinetiQ pace. So this is This is how it goes. Your headline needs to be simple. It needs to be straight to the point. You don't want a really long headline. You want something short that either explains what you're best at. I mean, a lot of people they do, a lot of I do a lot of different stuff E commerce. And then I teach stuff on you to me, whatever. But my main specialty, what I'm good at is a social media and marketing if you get sales. But in the same time you do some social media marketing you want to see what kind of opportunities are you looking for? What kind of connections you're trying to get? You can see that almost 900 people viewed my profile. Um, if I had, ah, headlines saying whatever e commerce expert, maybe you see, a lot of people sent me messages related to different top. I don't see all of them, obviously, but, um, if I had, for example, e commerce expert at whatever company other people would be approaching me, people are interested in e commerce. But for now, 99% of the people who approach me you send me messages who try toe contact me in any way. They are interested in social media and marketing. So that's it had line. You either put something you need something you're seeking or you put where you're good at what you want people to recognize you through. You basically want to put a headline that shows what you're good at in terms of your own personal headline or what you're seeking if you want something from the people who are viewing your profile. 19. Picking The Industry : Okay, guys. So now I want to talk about four sections really fast before moving to the summary in depth . Ah, the country, the ZIP codes and the city or the district. The reason why it's essential to add these things is because when people go in your profile and they might be interested in doing some business with you in hiring you as, ah, full time, part time or even as a as part of an internship, they want to see where you're located it if there's a company in Denver, Colorado, that that is hiring software developers for an internship position for a simple um, if the employer goes on, goes on your profile and he sees that you have a really good profile. But I mean, he cannot know where you're located at. Most of them will not put the effort to send you a message asking these this kind of information because I mean, let's face it, there's there's plenty of fish in the sea, and if you don't have a profile that can make you stand out in a way that employers would have to send you a message because they cannot replace you in any way. Um then I would say Then I would say, you're good to go. And, um, of course, easily they will send you a message. They will want to try to get information from you because they need you. But if these information are not provided on your profile, they will most probably just skip, um, and the industry. Of course, people want to know what industry you're working because, you know, a lot of people, they have different. They have different experiences in different fields. Um, I personally, I was a paramedic for for a while. Um, I did some rescuing. I did ah, lot of different internships in accounting and all that. But that does not mean that this is my industry. My mind, My industry right now is marketing, advertising and social media. Right. So you want to look for your industry and added, because just looking through your past experiences is not enough for a person to tell what your industry is. Most people, most people starting up, uh, in their career, they have a lot of different positions that they go into a lot of different jobs. Um, so eventually, you don't want to employer or whoever is looking at your profile to be confused. Did they need everything on your profile? Needs to be really straightforward. It needs. Could be. It needs to be connected, and it needs to all be rotating around the industry that you're working in, and in that case, it's working in advertising. So ah, so that's it. And let's get to the summary. 20. Joining Groups : So in this lecture, we're gonna talk about how groups having different groups can help you in your S e o journey. Now, for those of you wondering where to find groups, you can just go on the home page, work expanded, and you'll be able to see groups right here. Um, another thing that you can do. You can search for social media and then you see all the results. Social Media Group. You'll be able to filter the results based on groups. When you search for Social Media, for example, you're gonna have all the different options and you're gonna have the filters, people, companies and then groups. Okay, you want to click on groups and then you'll be able to see all the groups you can ask them to join. And as soon as they accept you to join the group, you're good to go now. Another thing that you can also do this something that I have not done done. Personally, I helped a lot of friends with their groups help friends on. We got groups with thousands of people's people in the but I haven't created a personal group myself. That being said, creating a group can really help because you can put all the key words and descriptions and attract people to this group that are genuinely interested in these topics. These are the topics that you are working on or that are part of your job. So, um, once you join the groups, this will help linked and filter out the relevant searches for you when you Joan groups related to financial accounting when he joined groups related to marketing. When you join groups related to software development, this will help linked and know what are the relevant searches for you. And this will also boost your CEO. Another thing that really helps in terms of groups we talked before about expanding your network and groups are one of the most essential. We're going talk more about it later, but there are one of the most essential factors to grow and expand your network. As I said, we're gonna talk later about how groups can help you expand your network. For now, just keep in mind that joining groups and creating groups related to your area of expertise or whatever you have on your linked in profile as the main thing that you do will boost your S e o dramatically 21. Learning On LinkedIn : now in the same section on the home page. Next supposed to job. There is something called learning. When you click on it, you will be redirected to this page right here. You can always start a free trial. Can try it out for a month. I'm not sure by the time you watch, it's gonna be different promotion. But for now, that's the promotion. Um, and what it offers is it can teach you a lot of skills. Subjects a lot of different stuff related to different matters. Personal branding on social media content marking, social strategic thinking, social selling. Social media can see that there are excel, for example, communications all the different kind of courses that can help you in whatever field you're working. But they're not free. As I said, you can always go on one and watch a preview. There are different solutions that you can look at. Eventually, it's it's up to what you need. If you need something for a business Higher education government for a team can just join one month for free and see how it works. No, I have to say there's a lot of valuable information, and I don't know from myself. I know friends who tried it, and and they told me that they learned a lot from it. I personally use other platforms to learn stuff from, but you can always use Lincoln Course. You have to pay for it again, but you can always use it to learn a lot of stuff for you. 22. Messaging And Engaging : So, guys, in this lecture, we're gonna be talking about engaging with others, basically talking to people, building connections. The way it works is the way we're going to talk about is through messaging. You guys can see I have a lot of people have sent me messages that I didn't even read because I was really, really busy lately. Um um, but you guys can see just by connecting with people, people will connect with you. They kind of start a conversation with you. You don't even have to start it yourself. You don't always have to make three initial step to contact people. They will engage with you. They will contact you. They will try to build a connection. It's always happens like that. You'll have people talking to you, and that builds connections. A lot of people they use lengthen to advertise their services. They're gonna be like, Hey, my name is blah, blah, blah. And and, uh, whatever blob lies an expert in whatever field. And I could help you and, well, if you need them. Good. If you don't need them, you're gonna get saying go to hell. You're not gonna answer? Probably. Um I get these people a lot like a lot of time. I get people who and just want to say, hey, have the services. If you're interested, let me know. However, I do get a lot of people who are genuinely interested in building a connection. I met a lot of people in person that I met a Lincoln. Um, a lot of people that I hired I met unlinked in a lot of my business connections. I met the Lincoln and all through messaging or or through the contact information that I provided on Lincoln. And I'm gonna tell you guys more about it, but for now, what I need you guys to know is that messaging on Lincoln is a powerful, powerful tool. It's not like messaging on unfazed Booker Instagram where you're talking to somebody. Russia. This is a platform, a messaging platform where you can build professional connections with people around you. No matter what industry it is, No matter what field, no matter where they are in the world, you can build a connection with them. You can build a relationship just by messaging 23. Keep Track Of Your Notifications : Okay, guys. So this lecture we're gonna be talking about verifications, notifications, Arlington or not like notifications on Instagram or Facebook. Notifications on Lincoln are there to help you. They are very helpful. Why? They don't just post stuff related to who? Like your pictures or who commented or whatever they tell you stuff that can help you build connections with people. This guy started in your position. Say congrats. You know how this person is going to feel, Imagine you starting a new job and getting somebody saying, Hey, I saw in Lincoln that you had this new job opportunity that just went for I wish you could . Like if you need anything, let me know. You know how good you would feel, how genuine that would sound. And and it is. So Lincoln basically helps you through all of these things. They tell you whenever somebody gets a new job, they tell you when somebody when you get accepted a new group, they tell you when it's somebody's birthday, they tell you once somebody's birthday, imagine on your birthday getting a random, awesome birthday birthday message from somebody that you don't know you know that you're going to remember that you're not gonna forget about it When you wake up in the morning, open your Lincoln on your birthday and thinking about all your professional things and seeing a message from somebody saying Hey, happy birthday. Wish you a good one. You're gonna feel really good about it. Notifications are crucial for you to be able to build connections with people you can see. There's a lot of stuff when you and the access group, they tell you that right now you're good to go. You can go on the group and visit it, conceive the new positions a lot of different stuff. Basically, it's just these main things. Some people full. You guys can see that. Also, I have a lot of follow. Just like connections is very similar. Um, and it works in the same way. And eventually there are some news that that Lincoln butts also in terms of notification, we talked about about what people are talking about the most, each other kind of things that linked in sometimes but in in your notifications. But overall, also, you can always go to your settings mess around with with your settings, but I wouldn't recommend it because the way linked and set it up is the best way for you to optimize the results on Lincoln. So that being said, use your notifications to connect with people more. Eso not just connecting with people but actually building a connection with 24. Posting A Job On LinkedIn: So now we're gonna talk about a really important section, which is work right here on the top. Right corner of the page posted job is included in the workmen. You It's right here on. That's the first thing we're gonna talk about. When you click composed to post a job, you're gonna be redirected to a different page. I'm gonna show it to you guys. Um, no. In this first, you need to know that posting a job is not free. You need to pay lengthen for for the promotion that they're doing for you to find where you wanna whoever you want. You want to work for you, you'll be able to find them. But you need to pay money for lengthen, um, and the way it works. You just put a description. I'm gonna show it to you guys right now. So as soon as it click on a post a job, you'll be redirected to this page. You choose the company, your company, position the area and then you choose. You choose the job description, job function, company, industry, what level employment types, different types of employment. What are you looking for? What kind of level is entries in an internship. What is it? And you put a description so people can know a bit more about this position. You put an email so people can apply to it. Continue right here. You're gonna have linked and asking for a certain budget, right? You need to put an estimated budget, but zero Canadian. It's not valid. You need to pay at least $7.52 a day for Lincoln to do the promotion for you. So, um, this can be really effective for you to be able to find somebody to hire, but there's a lot of different websites that can help you do that for free. I wouldn't personally use Lincoln, but if I ever really wanted to get somebody on a whole new level, I would go for Lincoln. Because people on the other websites where you don't pay a lot of money like DJ in Canada craze list or indeed, whatever it is, worker Paulus. You don't pay a lot of money if you pay anything but most people there. There's a lot of them entry level and internships or just seeking a job. But there's a lot of professionals on Lincoln that are not very easy to reach, but through Lincoln, you'll be able to 25. Using The Profinder : now in the same menu. There are workmen.
