1. Trailer: Hello and welcome to my watercolor cities Cars on how to make your own water color charts in three different styles. What if Ally charts play an important role to help us to choose the correct colors in our paintings in this class, I'm going to show you how to create three different time off water color charts. Any still level students can join in this class In the beginning of the class, I will show you all the tools that we need in order to create these charts. Then I will teach you how to create the basic charge. Grady in charge and lastly, the more advanced level chart, which is great charts. You will be amazed by how many different colors you can get by mixing very limited watercolors so clicked and Rome button and let's explore and have fun with colors 2. Project Introduction: the first chart that we going to make ISS the basic watercolor chat. In this chart, we're going to apply pure pittman off the watercolor by mixing very little water. The next one will be the Brady in water color chart. In this chart, you can see the gradual decrease in the pigment off the water color. We're going to apply the pure pigment first on. Then we'll keep on adding water for the lighter washes. The last charge will be agreed. Watercolor charge. This charge will consume a lot of time to complete. So if you're a big anomaly, start with a basic charge in this chart. We're going to mix color to get a new combination color set aside Can see in this great I've used 12 color to get approximately 121 new combination colors. I promise there's going to be a very fun project. So without any feeling that small wonder the tools that we need to create this chops 3. Tools: for this class you need, Watercolor said. I'm going to use Windsor and Newton, 12 half Penn water, Colas said. We could also use to water Connor, or, if you're a beginner, you can drive it. School grades, water fellas. Next, we need water color palette. You can use ceramic blade or plastic water. Can a paella in this specific class I would recommend you to use plastic watercolor palette because it's going to be very easy to mix different colors at once. Next, we need two glasses of water. The first class be used for rinsing the brush in between the colors and second last for depict. Next, we need tissue paper on watercolor brushes for the brushes and going to use size 10 for great and washes. You can also use size eight and size zero for the quick chat. If you have water brush, you can use that to try to use bigger size brushes for the grading washes and smaller size boxes for the Great, because you have a great control when you paint next opening watercolor paper. I suggest you to use 200 to 300 gram per square meter paper. I'm going to use nine by 12 inch, 300 grandpa squad cold press paper. So let's someone to the next video 4. Basic Chart Part I: So to make this basic chart, I'm going to use Windsor and Newton 12 set watercolor. First, we need to make the greed. We can use any brand and any number off color. Since I plan to use draft color and agreed, I will make 12 boxes. Let's say if you use six colors, then you need to create only fixed boxes for each box and going to measure about to see em . I'm going to create two rules off six boxes on dividing it into two, so we will get six box on top and bottom. I believe about to see em extra space and cut the rest off the paper. Now you need to activate the watercolor. I'm going to put a few drops off water on each off the colors for this chart and using Windsor and Newton round brush size zero. I'm using a smaller size process because I will have no control when I think we're going to apply the color using wet on dry watercolor technique, which means applying wet watercolor on a dry paper. Make sure you use very little water motor color so that we can see the real pigment off the color on paper. First, I will start with lemon yellow hue. Apply this color on the first box. I'll post make outline that apply the color in the middle off the box. If the watercolor is to take, or if you have any difficulty in applying it on paper, then you need a few more drops off water. But make sure it's not too water. This is how it's looked like when you finish calorie. Now we skipped the second box and continue to color the third balls because the yellow color is still where we color the second box. Then there are chances for the color to get mixed. We don't want that to AKA, so we leave it until the local ability Try. Then we color the second. Before we did the brush in mu color, make sure you wash the brush in first class off water, then wash it again, using the second glass off water. This will make sure the brushes fully cleaned. Now let's color the third box. Make outline first to get a clean and finished look against skip one bolts and let's color the fourth books. Don't forget to clean your brush before you dip the brush in a new color. - Okay , now I will skip the box below yellow because the yellow color still not drive completely. So let's color the next box and cleaning the brush. Don't forget washing using first class, then using second glass of water for the white color. If you want, you can leave it blank, but I will apply they now first through color, completely dry. So let's color the second box and so on. Okay, since you guys saw the technique off coloring in this basic charge, I will pass forward the video. Please remember my tapes. I will mention it again. Don't add too much water that the first books dry before you coloring the next one. Always wash your brush before dipping the brush to the new color. Also, don't forget to make outline off the ball so you will get a clean look, and it's easy also for you to fill the color evenly in the books. Once you finish coloring the chart, leave it to dry completely. - If you want this kind off style, you can leave a space below each boss to write the color's name. Since I don't leave any space in my chart, I will drive the color's name at the back off the paper. You can pace the start on top off your water, gullible so even you can place it inside of the box. If you feel it's inconvenient for you, you can laminate it and place it anywhere you want. 5. Basic Chart Part II: do you remember in my previous video, I mean from space before I cut the paper. Now I'm going to cut that extra space. So this is the final look off the basic chat. Now let's strike the color scheme at the back off the paper. If you leave space below each off the color box, then you can find the color's name underneath it. Make sure you write the color's name in the right position. I draw an outline for the 12 box so it will keep a new look and exit rate. So this is how it looked like I'm going to place this big, sick Chad inside of my watercolor box. So let's stem to the next video. I will. Did you how decreed this beautiful grading job? 6. Gradient Chart Part I: for this greedy in charge. I'm using the same Windsor and Newton 12 set colors, so for us, we need to create a breed. Then we will cut them into 12 separate pieces. Now, let me show you the measurements. This is how it's look like after I outlined those measurements using pencil first, I take the with measurement and divided into two. As you can see, the papers bit is about nine inch, so I divided into two. Or we can get six scraps on top and bottom for the length. It's 12 inch, so I divide it into six, which will give me about five cm for each square. By doing this, we will get equal size off 12 squares. If you have less than 12 colors, you can adjust the measurements. All these measurement details. I will include it in a pdf so that you can download it and refer it anytime you want. Once you make an outline using Spencer, you can cut them into 12 cases. Now I will cut them into 12 pieces, and I will be back to show you all the tools that we need in order to create this grade in charge. 7. Gradient Chart Part II : I already cut the watercolor paper into 12 pieces. This is how it's to apply next. Really. Two glasses of water, Your choice off water fella, tissue paper, Sarah make or any plastic water color palette for mixing watercolor. Next, we need watercolor brush for watercolor washes. I prefer to use bigger size, precious and going to use Windsor and Newton Rome. Brush size eight or even. You can use a big size water brush. So that's it. Let's start to paint radiant chart. First, you need to read your watercolor brush. We will start with lemon yellow hue color. You need to load your brush with lemon yellow hue. Try toe. Pick us much pigment as you can, because later on, we will dip the brush a few times in water. Next, did the brush in water adapt the access at the edge of the class? Now let's continue to paint the next role. Each time. After you did the Prussian water, you need to paint at least 2 to 3 rose continuously. One stunt Did the brush again. Make sure you don't clean the brush fully. You just need to deep once and continue to pain. Now let's continue to paint the following rule. Please remember after 2 to 3 rules off paint unique in, dipped the brush in water and continue to pay. Do the same process until you reach the bottom off the paper. Now the great in charge for lemon yellow hued and let me put it aside and I'll show you the next color. Since we are going to paint a new color, make sure you clean the brush using second blast off clean water. Now let's great, great in wash for cadmium yellow. First, you need to load your brush with cadmium yellow, the first layer always darker compared to the other layers. I'm using the same technique that I mentioned before this. After 2 to 3 rows off pain, you need to dip the brush in water and continue to paint. Don't worry if your people called after you paint, it will back to normal ones its completely dry. I hope you already grabbed the techniques that I share with you. Now let me fast forward the video. I will follow the same process for all the great in charge. If you don't want to see the same process for different colors you must keep and jump to the next video. But if you love to see those processes, just keep watching. - So this is the final look off my grade in charge. See how beautiful the color transition occurred. If you want, you can write the color's name at the bag or even on top of the radiant colors. Okay, that's it. Let's jump to the next video. 8. Gradient Chart Part III: Once your greeting chuck completely dried, you can write the color's name. I want to write it on top of the greedy bush. If you want, you can write the color's name at the back off the paper. I'm going to give gel pack. If you have water assistant than like my combat, you can use that to So our second watercolor radiant shot done. Let's move on to the next video. I will teach you how to create great job. 9. Grid Chart Part I: to create a great job. You need watercolor paper, a razor water resistant ban. I'm using my convent penso ruler Watercolor brush. I'm using Windsor any agent brush size zero watercolor palette for mixing colors in the specific class. I prefer to use plastic ballot because it's easier to make a bunch off colors at funds, and you also need water color any brand off your choice. I will include all the tools detail, and I will provide link where I purchase them in a pdf. So don't forget to check it out. I've made a slight changes here. If you want to create a creature exactly like this, then you need to follow this measurement one cm Rick and one cm length In this class, I'm going to create slightly larger Greek chart. The measurement for this is to see em length by one cm. Again, I repeat, if you want, this Greek chart followed this measurement, and if you want larger charge, use this measurement to create this grief. First you need to decide how many colors you're going to use. I'm going to use 12 colors if you use last, then you need to adjust the number of scrap. Here I create 12 box off to CNN, which equals 24 c m. Us with first mark 24 CNN, and then you separate it into 12 boxes. And over here I measured 12 box off one sandwich equal to 12 CNN and then separate it again into to our boxes so totally will get 12 by 12 boxes with each scram a human to buy one CN , then using pencil, outline all the scraps and then are climbing again using my grandparents. And then you can erase all the pencil traces. A reminder for you. You need to use a water resistant band because they drawn. We will apply watercolor on top off those. Great. So the micro ban will prevent Inc bleeding. Okay, Now I will outline all this grass with my cramp in. Okay, I'm done. This is how it's looked like once you are planning with Water Assistant Bank. If there's any pencil traces, you can reason with a razor before I start to pain. I want to explain about this Greek chap in this great child. On board side of the color combination, I used the same color consistency, which is darker on both sides. In this, Karzai will separate it into two half will be doctor color. The other half will be the lighter one, so you can see the same color with two different shit. For example, if you see in this chart the green color shade on both side looks saying. But in this class we will paint one darker green and another is lighter green, which we will add more water. So let's move on to the next video. We will start painting the Greek chat. 10. Grid Chart Part II: to create this great chart. First, we have to paint the first row and first column with the colors that we are going to use, for example, and going to use 12 colors. So I'm going to paint those colors at first through and first column. Now let's pain the white color in the first box. It's depend on you to paint each color in which arrangement, but make sure white color should be in the first box. Since the white color is still red, let's skip a box and pain. The third box I'm going to paint cat meme rate in the third box. Make sure you paint in a correct box. If the role count is three, then the column count also should be. Three. A good tips here is before you paint the whole box. Count first and put a monk in the specific box for both row and column, and then start to paint. By doing this, you won't make any mistakes. Once done, wash your brush using first glass off water and then wash again using second glass off water to make sure your brushes clean before you dip in a new color against keep a box and continue to paint. I'm going to use Ultra Marine in the fifth box for both column Andrew. Next, I'm going to skip a box and pain Viridian color on seventh box. Skip a bonds and paint yellow ocher. Keep a box again and paint burned number So all the previous colors that we paint already dried. Let's fill the empty boxes with the rest of the colors. So this is how it looked like once you finish painting the first rule and first column now , quickly jump to the next video and we will start painting the color combination. 11. Grid Chart Part III: first, you need to understand that all the same color that intersect, we are going to paint the specific color makes with the white color. For example, lemon yellow intersect with a lemon yellow. You need to mix it with the white color, so this rule applied to the rest of the colors, so let's begin to paint. I will make a lemon yellow hue with white color and fill the bowls with that color mixture . Know that we are painting the second row and second column before you paint. You have to count the number of box that we need to paint for me. I have to paint 10 boxes, so I will prepare 10 lemon yellow color in the palate. It will be very easy for us to mix the colors at once. Know that you need to pick only lemon yellow hue. Don't mix it with other colors. Now wash your brush and we will start mixing the colors When you see the first rule, we need to make a lemon yellow with the cat meme Brit, So let's mix it. Make sure you use small brush to paint because the square that we paint is small so we need a good control when we paint. As I mentioned previously, we will paint darker and lighter shade. We already paint the darker on the second drawer, not want to the second column and find cadmium break box, which intersect with the lemon yellow, and paint the lighter shade on that box to paint the lighter color. You just need to mix it with water. You need to pick the same color with mixed just now and at move water to it. Next. We need to makes lemon yellow but cadmium yellow. Paint the box slowly and make sure you don't exceed the outline off the books. Now I'm adding more water to the paint to make it a lighter shade. Next, we just need to rip it the same process with the rest of the colors. Now we need to make ultra marine with the lemon yellow. Next makes this color with water and paint the lighter shape. I hope you understand the technique. Now I will fast forward the video. If you still have question just posed it on the discussion section, I will surely help you. So this is how it's looked like once you finish, second draw and second column. If you notice all the colors in draws are darker and all the colors in column are lighter. If you feel confused, don't worry. Just jump to the next video. I will show you the demonstration off the third row and third column, and also in the next video, I will share you how you can remove the watercolor on paper if you accidentally paint the wrong color or if you want to make it lighter, so let's move on. 12. Grid Chart Part IV & Thank You: I have removed the watercolor that I applied in the previous video. I wanted to show you how you can do this, too. This is a good practice for you. Let's say you accidentally applied a lot off color on paper. You can use this technique to remove it, or even if you wrongly paint the watercolor in the wrong box or even if you wanted to make it look lighter. You can apply this technique if the watercolor is still, but you can easily remove it. Using the tissue paper, just dab it on top off the color. The tissue paper will absorb those watercolors in this example the water. Colorful lead, right, So first you need to use small sites. Brush wet your brush. Using clean water, try toe makes the water and the color on the paper. What we're trying to do is we are activating the dry watercolor on paper now. He removed the color from paper to tissue paper using brush. Repeat again by adding more water and try to pick the color on paper Stop when you achieve the desire to shade. Since the square is smaller, I use brush to pick the colors If you're trying to remove the color on the big surface, you can straightaway use tissue paper to pick the color. Okay, now let me show you another example by mixing intense blue with the rest off the colors. First, you need to count the empty boxes. I need to get seven intense blue to mix with the other colors. Remember the rule. When the same color intersect, you need to mix it with white color. Now I will makes intense blue with white color. Next, we need to mix the color beside the intense blue, which is very did green. After that, we need to mix it with water for the lighter shade. Okay, the next color we need to make is sub green. Let's mix it and paint. The next color is yellow ocher, mixed with the intense blue and painted. Don't forget to paint the lighter shade by mixing with water. I hope you already grabbed these techniques. I want you to sit and great. This beautiful grid charts slow and steadily. It doesn't matter if it takes 2 to 3 days for you to complete. Just enjoy the process and post your chart pictures under the project section. It takes a lot of time for me to complete because I'm choosing 12 colors to work with. If you are a total beginner, try to start with five colors and gradually increase. I will fast forward the video now so that you guys can see the full process off this chart . This is the final look off the Greek chart. You can leave as it is, or you can cut the Richard and laminated. I already cut my great chart using Caesar as he can see Clearly the top part of the chart is DACA and the other side is later and this is the first basic chart that deep made earlier. And this is the grade in shot. So that's it. We have come to the end of the class. I hope you guys learn something new in this class. If you really enjoy and liked this class, please leave a review. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to posting under discussion section and also please forced your chart pictures under the project section. Don't forget also to download the tool, sleaze and chart May Human guide. Pdf file under the project section until we made in the next class, it's spy from Muddy
