1. INTRODUCTION: simple secrets for good titles, tags and descriptions that get your product or service found in the big C of the Internet world. Hi, my name is Sandra Rose. I am a graphic designer specializing in designing greeting cards. I have sold over 300,000 cards online. In this course, I will share with you my secrets of how to write good elements that describe your product or service so that it can be found. There are three simple rules to keep in mind when you're writing your titles, your tags or keywords. Is there no sometimes and your descriptions 1st 1 is that you put the most important things first. Don't wait till the end of any of those three elements. Do it first. Next. Get right to the point immediately. Don't beat around the bush. Don't add extra things. Get right to the point state. What makes your product or service unique? That's always kind of confusing What you mean by unique. I don't know what makes it different than somebody else's. Describe it in very, very descriptive actual terms. We will explore these three points further with examples of good and bad use of the rules and ways to improve 2. NAIL YOUR TITLE: title that I have on my cards. Here's the title. I have a product number. That's just because I have to do that. So let's ignore the product number and get into my actual title. Feel better? Wild flowers. Okay, What's good is what is the purpose of my card. It's a feel better. And what is on the card? What does it look like? OK, I have wildflowers showing up on the card. Okay, so that's pretty good. It's not bad. So what's the most important thing is again, what its purpose is to feel better. And then at part part of a description will be wildflowers. Now, what would make it a little bit better? Ah, if someone is going to be searching for this instead of saying feel better, they might also think of it as a get well card. So, um, I to be even better for this, I would say feel better, comma, get well, wild flowers. So if they're going to search for flowers, they're going to find it. They want wildflowers there, one to find it as well. Here is another example. New home flowers. Here's my title right here. Okay, That's pretty good. It's about a new home, and there are flowers on there. Okay. Simple and straightforward. The purpose of the card is it's going to be for a new home, and then a description about it is going to come second. And that is flowers. Now, I could make that even better. What is the new home card? I look on here in its congratulations on your new home. Ah, so now I might want to say new home. Congratulations. That's pretty important word in there that I don't have their I do have it in the description, which we're gonna talk about later. But for the shopper, too quickly see it. New home congratulations. Might be pretty good thing to have on their to add. And then there flowers. Well, they are really pink flowers. They look like there's some kind of a pink daisy. Daisy is a little bit more specific, and pink is specific. So as I'm getting further along here, I might say new home. Congratulations. Flowers. Let's see Daisy flowers in pink. Okay, so flowers is pretty important. Maybe daisies are important and pink is going to be sort of toward the end, So I'm going to choose between flowers and daisies as to which one comes next because I can't have it too long. New home Congratulations. That's still really important. That's what the card is. Someone's gonna be looking for a specific card. That's what they're gonna be finding a new home. Congratulations. And then part of the description can come later as flowers. What kind of flowers? Days is and pink. Now I need to be talking to someone so that they understand what I'm saying. So new home Congratulations. I don't want to put the word with because that takes up extra space that I don't want to take up. So new home Congratulations, Daisy Flowers in pink and is a short word that can work very well. Now look at our keywords or tags again. They're used interchangeably, whether it's a tagger, a keyword, and we're going to be speaking both metadata for Google or search engine purposes, as well as when a shopper is looking. If I look here under the search products and I'm going to say get well, card, this one better come up. It's not gonna come up on the way. My title is right now. because I just have it is feel better. Okay, so you want to make sure that your tags or your keywords are correct and are going to give you more information so that when a shopper is looking, they can find what they're looking for via the search or and also for Google, and search engines are going to find it because they're gonna have more information about your particular product. And that's the purpose of the keywords or tags. So let's look at him what I'm going to have in here now. You won't be able to see my keywords because those air hidden to the shopper. But let's look at what I would include here. All right, First of all, let's look my title feel better. I'll say, Feel better. I'm going to say wildflowers and I might put that together is one word wildflower. I might then also included his two words Wild Space Flower. I'm going to do flower and flowers. Some websites require the S to it. Some don't. Google is pretty smart, so it doesn't really matter. But sometimes the searches, depending on what website you have and how advanced this is. If I say flower, it might not come up. I might have to say put down here flowers. So, for the purpose of your shopper, you might want include both the singular and the plural of the main thing. Ok, um, now I'm looking at the inside of my card and it says some sending you a garden of get well wishes. So I'm gonna include the word garden in here. I'm also going include wishes and wish. And then I'm going to say get well, because this is definitely a get well card. Get well, okay. And that would then the other thing is I'm going to describe this is now a natural looking background paper. This is nature. So I'm gonna put nature natural paper, natural looking paper I have here, um, I might say simple, because it's a simple card, so you can describe something about it, and I Let's see nature, natural botanical use the botanical flowers. Um and I think that would probably do it for this particular card. Now, I'm gonna do a search and let's go find the other card. The new home flowers. 64 and I can find it via, um, my number that I have been there for me from my website purposes. That's what I do. And let's look at what we would put for the key words Here. Take a look at this card. We know it's a new home. We know it's a congratulations and we know their flowers. So new home house. Let's put the word house, but we can have a synonym for the word home, which would be house moving. Move. Um, let's see. And we have flowers. Let's do the singular flower. Let's say they were daisy and daisies and I think about a but our base you can say base or hot. Um, let's look here says, wishing the warmth and happiness as you make your house into a home. So we have the word house. We have the word home. Let's say happy. Um and we say, Want to say congratulations, all right. And so we have all this in this for the key words in the types of the keywords and the tags . So I think up to this point, we have a lot of information for the shopper to find the card and for Google search engines to find the cards 3. EFFECTIVE TAGS: Let's now look at our keywords or tags again. They're used interchangeably, whether it's a tagger, a keyword, and we're going to be speaking both metadata for Google or search engine purposes, as well as when a shopper is looking. If I look here under the search products and I'm going to say, get well, card, this one better come up. It's not gonna come up on the way my title is right now because I just have it is feel better. Okay, so you want to make sure that your tags or your keywords are correct and are going to give you more information so that when a shopper is looking, they can find what they're looking for via the search or and also for Google. And search engines are going to find it because they're gonna have more information about your particular product. And that's the purpose of the keywords or tags. So let's look at him what I'm going to have in here now. You won't be able to see my keywords because those air hidden to the shopper, but let's look at what I would include here. All right. First of all, let's look my title feel better. I'll say feel better. I'm going to say wildflowers and I might put that together is one word wildflower. I might then also included his two words Wild Space Flower. I'm going to do flower and flowers. Some websites require the S to it. Some don't. Google is pretty smart, so it doesn't really matter. But sometimes the searches depending on what website you have and how advanced this is. If I say flower, it might not come up. I might have to say Put down here flowers. So for the purpose of your shopper, you might want include both the singular and the plural of the main thing. Ok, um, now I'm looking at the inside of my card and it says some sending you a garden of get well wishes. So I'm going include the word garden in here. I'm also going include wishes and wish. And then I'm going to say get well because this is definitely a get well card Get well, okay. And that would then the other thing is I'm going to describe this is now a natural looking background paper. This is nature. So I'm gonna put nature natural paper, natural looking paper I have here, Um, I might say simple because it's a simple car to you can describe something about it and I Let's see nature, natural botanical use the botanical flowers. Um and I think that would probably do it for this particular card. Now I'm gonna do a search and let's go find the other card. The new home Flowers 64 and I can find it ria my number that I have been there for me from my website purposes. That's what I do. And let's look at what we would put for the key words Here. Take a look at this card. We know it's a new home. We know it's a congratulations and we know their flowers. So new home house. Let's put the word house, but we can have a synonym for the word home which beat house moving. Move. Um, let's see and we have flowers. Let's do the singular flower. Let's say they were daisy and daisies and I think about a but our base you can say base or hot. Um, let's look here says, wishing the warmth and happiness as you make your house into a home. So we have the word house. We have the word home. Let's say happy. Um, we say, Want to say congratulations, All right. And so we have all this in this, for the key words in the types of the keywords and the tags. So I think up to this point, we have a lot of information for the shopper to find the card and for Google search engines to find the cards. Let's look at our anniversary card with dogs unless think about what keywords we would use in here. So we have first of all, anniversary a couple dogs, and that's use the word dog as well. Clouds. We might then say sky. Okay, now you'll see the word greeting card here, and I don't need to use greeting card again because it's in. It's embedded into my website so much they don't really need to use the word greeting card . But again, if you have a different kind of product that you have a multiple variety of products within your website or that you're selling or that are online, if you have a class, you might say the word class or course, um so I could use the word greeting card or greetings. Ah, this is a congratulations. It's happy you want to say happy cause someone might say Happy Anniversary. Let's look and see what the inside says to a couple whose marriage is a match made in heaven. So we want to say marriage and we want to say heaven, Okay, and that would be descriptive of this particular card. We might also say Blue and there are two little hearts here so we can say the word heart hearts as well. And let's do one final one, which is the 25 95. And let's see what we're going to do differently on this card. So here we have the word anniversary. We want to put in our keyword or title. We can use the word greeting card. Greetings. Cats cannot own relationship. How about each other? You could say for each other for each other. Use the word for and there's the moon. We can say moon. This is a night sky splicing night stars. She has a bow on. So we'll say Bo heart. So we're describing things about the card, um, happy and love, and I think that will do it for this particular car 4. DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS: way. Look at our description. Let's see if this fills in more gaps so that the search engines or Google can look at more words that relate to this particular card or this particular product. And the shopper can look at it and see if it relates, gives them more information about this product assistant to see if they want to buy it or not. So we have two cats sitting side by side in the moonlight, ready to wish there special someone a happy anniversary. It could be a wedding anniversary or to people in a relationship. All right, so it's not necessarily a wedding one. It's just a happy anniversary. Okay, so that says a whole lot. It's an interesting thing to cat sitting side by side in the moonlight. All right. In this case, I have now started with the description of it because we have a lot of information already that starts with the anniversary. Okay, so now we want to start with something a little bit different to again. Give more information right away. Two cats sitting side by side in the moonlight, ready to wish there special someone a happy anniversary. So within this first sentence. We have the whole thing in there, the happy anniversary in the two cats sitting side by side in the movement. And then I give a little more detail for the shopper. You say, Oh well, gosh, it's for two people dating. They're in a relationship and they're they're dating. So would this be appropriate for them? And I would say, Yes, it ISS It's also could be a wedding anniversary, so you could use it for either. And I wanted to give that idea sort of how it could be used, giving more information in this particular card. Let's look back at at this other card and see how the description is. See if it works in here. All right, here's our dog anniversary per couple with dogs in clouds reading card. Let's see what this description is. This wedding anniversary card is cute and light, with two dogs sitting in the clouds. OK, so we know it's a wedding anniversary card that is in their important, it's cute and light, so it's giving a little bit more information about the card. That is what is new information with two dogs sitting in the clouds up here we have just the word dogs. Now we say it's two dogs sitting in the clouds. OK, that can work. I can also add a little bit more information. This would be maybe a minimal description so you can be as little is this. Or you could have two or three sentences in the description. Look at our feel better wildflowers card and see what the description is like here. The simple wildflower on natural looking paper simply offers a get well message. Okay, as we analyze this, this continues some help. Number one. I see the words simple and simply twice. That's a waste we've already said simply. So you want to do something different? I look in here and I it says, feel better soon. Okay, we have that in the title, and now we have to get well, which is good. So we're adding to the information. It's simple, but that's I like the idea. It's a simple card, the simple wildflower on natural looking paper. We want to skip the words simply. And how about let's again look at the inside of the card? Oh, we need the word garden in here. Maybe sending a garden of get well wishes. So why don't we repeat that this simple wildflower on natural looking paper offers a garden of get well wishes to help someone feel better? Okay, that would be more appropriate and give more information without doubling up on this. Now we're going to go to another product here, something we haven't used already. Okay, and you can see this is a leap dog playing birthday. So it's a birthday card leap into another year. Let's just let's look at just the description now. You don't really know anything about the card yet. Let's see if the description and the title that we can see the things that the shopper will see. Let's see if that gives us all the information we need. This cute, dog themed birthday greeting card with dog playing Frisbee and the yard or park says Happy celebrating perfect for any breed of dog, lover, male or female in any age. I think that says an awful lot. It says that it's cute. It says a dog. Now I have a dog playing Frisbee and the dog lover, so I've said dogs several times, cause that's kind of a very key in this particular card. I could also say puppy with puppy playing because someone might use the word puppy. OK, perfect for any breed of dog, lover, male or female at any age. So again, give me information about what it's used for, who can use it. Someone says, Gosh, I don't know what they're kind of dog. They have. I want to get a birthday card. But I'm not really sure what the name of the dog breed is. This works for them as well. Okay, I look in here. You deserve a day that's filled with fun. Happy birthday there, Supposedly there. All right, I think this really takes care of it. And this is a very nice description getting more information about the card. So now you have all the information you need as the shopper. And finally, let's look at one more card. Let's look at it in its entirety. Okay, then let's look at the title Religious wedding anniversary. Love Red roses. All right, that gives a big description of what this card is all about. Then let's so the title gives a description, lots of information. Let's belong to the description itself. Love is patient Love is kind. Quote is enhanced with a group of red roses. Beautiful and elegant. Wedding. Congratulations for the bride and groom. All right, so we know it's a wedding. Congratulations. Hard. Hey, and I see a problem here. There's a discrepancy, and this is very important that you don't want a discrepancy. This says Religious wedding anniversary. And here we have It's wedding. Congratulations for the bride and groom. Which is it? So don't have discrepancies, or Google's gonna look at that and say, Well, I don't know someone's looking for a wedding. Congratulations card, But this is anniversary, so they're gonna say he's gonna build. Google's going to skip it because it's too confusing. There's too much in here. Is that anniversaries at a wedding? Congratulations. So there's a lot of confusion in there for the shopper. Look at the front. If it could be used both, you need to state that, not just put it in two different ways. Let's look at the inside. May your marriage be blessed with all the joy of a lifetime of love. Congratulations. So what do we find here? It is not an anniversary card. It's really a religious wedding. Congratulations, card Love. It's a religious wedding. Congratulations, Love card with Red Roses is what we might say to make that exactly what we want to say So again, keep consistent with what you're doing with these. And that concludes the secrets to riding good titles, tags and descriptions to make it work for Google for search engines and four shoppers. 5. PROJECT and CLOSING: right in the project area, a sample or something from a real product or a blob post, or a class that you have done with a title keywords in the description and let's look at it and I will give you comments on it and tell you what I think exactly of your project.
