Project Description

Using your new skills - add one or more textures to a photograph you have taken and share it with the class. Ideally you will do at least 2 photo projects - one photo using one texture and one photo using multiple textures.

I love to see the art people are creating - so feel free to add more than one photo you have worked on if you are feeling inspired. Textures can be fun and addicting!

Things to keep in mind when choosing your photo:

  • How busy is your background?
  • Do you have a clearly defined subject?
  • When you compose your photo - consider using the rule of thirds to make your composition more interesting than a centered subject
  • Consider using a wide aperture when shooting to throw the background into blur - perfect for enhancing the photo with textures.
  • Have fun and get creative
  • Consider using more than 1 texture layer on one of your projects

**I have attached 2 files for you to download. One is a texture collection for you to experiment with and the other is my "Working with textures" eBook to supplement your video learning.
