ASSIGNMENT

Lifestyle photography is all about that aspirational feeling you evoke through your images. That magical anticipation that summer’s on the way, and good times are just around the corner.

Whether it’s a backyard BBQ, a music festival, an adventurous roadtrip, or a laidback picnic in the park, these photos convey a sense of camaraderie and zest for life that’s authentic and fun.

Your assignment in today's class is to capture that true emotion in a photo (or series of photos), and share it with me and your classmates.

DELIVERABLE

Post your lifestyle photo(s) in the Project Gallery of this class.

  • Share a summer-y photo that you've already taken (this could be from your Instagram)
  • Or, if you'd like, shoot something brand-new!

For my project, I threw a little backyard BBQ with my friends, and just roamed around the party with my camera. You could create a similar scenario with a dinner party, picnic, hiking trip, or any casual gathering. Get creative!

I'm excited to see your lifestyle shots.
