Project Description

Use the instructions in the class videos to create your own pair of hoop earrings! Use 2mm square wire as I have or have a search through wire left over from other projects to create hoops of different sizes and thicknesses.

As a guide, I have found that a length of wire 2.5 times the circumference of the mandrel you use to wrap the wire around is a good length to use to start the hoop earrings. I used a 22mm mandrel but as I used a fairly thick wire it coiled loosely around the mandrel, creating a pair of hoop earrings with an outside diameter of 30mm.

I've used my favourite hammer to texture my hoop earrings, but they would look just as great textured with a small ball pein hammer or with texture punches - just keep the pattern small as you're only working with a relatively small area.

It would be great to see photos of what you make - and some photos of what you use the left over pieces of wire for as well!
