1. Introduction: Welcome to the conference for dummies class. My name is Audrey, the founder of Romani talks media company, which helps engineers and entrepreneurs improve their communication skills so they can express your ideas with clarity and confidence. Are you someone who currently does not feel whole? A part of you feels as though that you deserve to express yourself. But then there's another part of you that's holding yourself back. You may at this time, software from a low self-esteem. In this class, I want to break down a field, the tenants of my level of intensity book, which has been read by a hundreds of people from all around the world on paperback, e-book and an audio book. And it has impacted men and women from all walks of life. The level of mentality as a framework that will help you give structure to your mind. So you can process information in an effective way and behave with clarity and confidence. In this class, you're going to understand what is confidence, the importance of discipline, the systematic practice of gratitude. How you can apply these concepts directly to your life. And trust me, you are going to apply it because at the end, I'm gonna be giving you a class project which will help you feel whole. Are you ready to improve yourself confidence? If so, I look forward to seeing you inside. 2. Defining Confidence: You ask 10 different people what they mean when they say confidence. Each time they're going to give you a different response. One group may say, it's how much money you make. Another person may say, it depends on how well you can speak to the opposite gender. Someone else will say, it depends on how well you can express your creativity. So the first thing that you want to understand is that throughout this class, you want to keep on cultivating your own personal definition of confidence. But don't worry, this isn't a cop-out. I'm going to give you my personal definition so you can at least start getting inspired in a certain direction. My definition of confidence comes down to congruence. There is harmony among thoughts, feelings, behavior, and discipline when these four merge. And there's that harmony that's being formed. That's when there's congruence. Because in the beginning of this particular video, I was talking about how once you ask different people their definition of confidence, there, we're all going to be telling you something different. There's one small thing that they will agree on. It comes down to congruence. How well are your thoughts, your feelings, your behavior match in your discipline and working in this synergistic force doesn't my personal definition. So take some time and brainstorm what it means to you. It's difficult to improve something if you cannot even define it. So before proceeding onto the next video, allow your mind to sit on this question. What is my personal definition of confidence? 3. Fixed vs Growth Mind: There's two types of mindsets out there. One mindset is the fixed mindset. The mindset is that growth mindset. The fixed mindset is the type of people who thinks that they pretty much have it all figured out. They've learned what they need to learn. And at this point, it's a process of consistently repeating the same habits. They may not be able to articulate this, but just to judge their behavior. They're on repeat mode. Well, for the growth mind, it's different if they are in that mode where they think they can constantly keep learning more information, they could change their personality at well, where the fixed mind beliefs that the brain makes the mind, the growth mind, understands that the mind makes the brain, at any point they can engage neuroplasticity, which is wiring and firing neural pathways. New innovative ways engage in deliberate practice and change their personality. At the core. If you're someone with a fixed mind and you're thinking, I don't think I could do any of that. What I urge you to do is watch the rest of this class with an open mind. Keep thinkin, ha, what if there is this chance that these enthusiastic people that I'm aware of are that crazy? What if there is a way that I can't change my personality? I can constantly keep learning every single day. Sit on this as well. And soon you'll start seeing that you at this stage in your life are not the exact same that you were five years ago or 10 years ago. Even if you consider yourself a fixed mind, you have been growing. And if you haven't been growing, then you have been declining. There's so many different options out there, but the growth mindset understands it's either evolve or devolve. Only two options. Maintainance is an illusion. So crossover leave the fixed mind ways and engage the life of growth mindset. 4. Targeting the Mind: To engage the growth mind, we must target the mind. What's sort of consciousness do you have right now? Are you overly competitive or are you more creative? It's difficult for these two to coincide at the same time. Now for certain fields, being competitive is great. If you're a fighter, for example, then go on compete. But in terms of life philosophy, if a person is constantly competing, what they're doing is that they're inviting a whole bunch of traffic into their lives. And I don't know, but for you, but there's two things that I hate. I hate the cold weather and I hate waiting in traffic. So why would I willingly invite traffic into my life? I don't. It's time to ditch the way of traffic and start to adopt the cleared lane mentality. And the way that we adopt the clearly mentality is to no longer compete with others, but instead to compete with our prior day itself. When we start to compete with our prior day self, something magical shorts to happen. This is when a vision, a Northstar shorts to present itself. It's rarely go to present itself to a mind that is constantly thinking about competing with other people. But it is going to present itself to the mind that is competing against their prior day self. And this image, this nor chart that you get is going to further help you target your mind further. Because as you are in this clear lane mentality with his eternal road, now, you're moving forward every single day. And as you are moving forward every single day, congruence is now starting to happen. Now the thoughts, the feelings, the behaviors, and the discipline are slowly starting to align into one holistic body. And this is when you will feel congruent. You will feel good and you will feel more creative than ever. 5. Art of Discipline: Hopefully in the last video, you were able to pick up a lot of the metaphors. I don't want you to find an actual highway and start driving right now. It's more so a mindset. And in order for you to adopt this mindset, discipline is key. There are so many definitions for discipline, but for me, it's simple. It's the art of programming your mind. And discipline is something that people have questions about. Well, what can I learn about discipline? What book do I read? And normally my response, along with most other people who exhibit discipline, their response as well, is rather humorous. You learn discipline by executing discipline. This is profound. Even though this seems humorous, it's true because discipline comes down to going beyond duality. Duality is when the mind is seeing good and bad, good and bad, good and bad. And for the average person, when they feel good, they want to work. When they feel bad, they don't want to work. They are dualistic. While the disciplined mind, they show up when it's good. They show up when it's bad, good, bad, doesn't matter. They're going to show up anyways. And as they're showing up, they now understand that discipline is more than a bunch of letters stringed together. It's an experience. And it's only going to be experienced when someone exhibits it, not reads about it. And once they are experiencing discipline, that's when they understand that they are in a lane to themselves. So it doesn't matter good or bad. You're programming your mind to show up regardless. 6. Art of Gratitude: This vision that you're working towards is becoming clearer. You are consistently executing discipline. But all this can be a waste if you don't do one of the most powerful exercises out there. Gratitude. Gratitude often gets confused as only thinking positive thoughts. I don't believe that to be the case. In the last section, I was talking about the importance of going beyond duality. Good, bad doesn't matter. And likewise, I follow the same philosophy with gratitude, except the good, except the bad. And for us to do this, we need a practice. For the rest of this class, I want you to understand that gratitude is not something that you just do whenever you feel like it. You don't have to be inspired to do it. Instead, approach gratitude like an athlete. Do it with discipline. Do it with grid. Do it in a way where it becomes systematized. And for the next two videos, I'm going to give you two different frameworks that you can choose in order to do gratitude correctly. 7. Brick Cement Mentality: The first way to do gratitude is through the bricks and cement mentality. Imagine that you have a big backyard and one day a company your backyard. And I drop a bunch of bricks on it, and then I'm leaving. You see what I just did? And that's when he started yelling at me. Hey, what do you do on dropping all these bricks in my backyard? You pick up your trash and you take it back with you. That's when I say wait a minute, bud, I'm actually just going to Home Depot right now to pick up some cement. I'll be back. By the time that I get back. What I do is I cement the bricks together to create you a guest house. At this point. You sure, wanting to give me a hug, you grab me some lemonade and you're like, Hey, how am I ever going to repay you? You see the change in perception when it was just bricks. It didn't mean much. But once I cemented the bricks correctly, that's when it meant a lot. Likewise, in terms of gratitude, the bricks represent our experiences. While the cement represents awareness. The thing with us is that we're accumulating a lot of experiences, but we're not taking the time to become aware of it. We have a lot of wins, but it just breaks. At this point. It doesn't mean much. We have losses which lead to wisdom. What is just bricks? We haven't done much with it. Therefore, we need to take some time to cement these bricks together. And we can submit them by either speaking it out loud or writing it down. But the more that we are becoming cognizant of the experiences that we have been through. The more that we're turning. Random junk. And two towers of confidence, mansions and buildings. 8. Tree Mentality: Another way to do gratitude is through the tree method. When you look at the tree, what do you see? Trunk, branches and leaves. What don't you see? The roots? Trunk branches and leaves represent the When's the roots represent the losses which led to the wins. One reason that tons of people are doing gratitude and correctly is because they're only trying to look for the good, just looking for the top of the tree. And this is a mistake because when you only look for the good and something dark happens to you, you're going to be rattled. You're not going to be battle tested. Which is why it's smart to also consider the roots. You know, those losses that you've had in your life. I'm sure at this stage, when looking back at a loss you had, let's say five to seven years ago. A part of you is like, I know exactly why that loss happened. And if I could redo it, I wouldn't necessarily want to because that loss lead to a few series of events which lead to the when. The more that you sort of connecting the roots to the tree will starts to happen is that you start to think in a chain mind, rather than thinking that everything is separate from one another. When you do take a loss or a setback. Nowadays, it's viewed with a confident manner. No, no longer scared and like Man, why me? Instead, you understand that the mind, Life is an interconnected web and this allows your tree to hold firm. As you're making yourself aware of the trunk, branches and leaves, which are the ones, and the roots, which are the losses that led to the whens. You could either speak it out or you could write it out. 9. Content Creation: Technology often gets a bad reputation by people who don't fully understand it. Personally, for me, I think technology is just a tool. Some people are going to misuse this tool, while another group of people are going to correctly use the tool. And we used a tool when in some way, shape or form, we're using the technology to benefit our lives. Right now. With this class, there's technology all around me. There's a microphone, There's the light, There's a camera. And I'm using it in a certain way where I can create this class and I can help someone else in their life. And you want to know something else that's pretty cool about this. Let's say 20 to 30 years passes on by a much older. I can look back at this moment that is frozen in time. And as I'm looking back at my younger self, I'm making eye contact with the past. And at that moment, I'm becoming aware of how far I've come. And this is why in your level of journey, I highly recommend that rather than complaining about technology, you use technology in order to create contact. You can make videos of your level of journey. You could record podcasts of your level of journey. You can write it down. But the main thing that you want to do is you want to create some form of content. And you want to know something. It doesn't even have to be public. If you're someone who wants to keep your journey to yourself, then fine. Make it private. But the point is that you have it. And once you have it, you can always review back on your work. Every now and then. What I do is I listened to a podcast that I did one year ago. And as I'm listening back to this podcast, I searched to remember that particular moment in my life. And it's stunning because for some reason I forgot about this moment. And as I'm listening back to this episode, I'm hearing my younger self talking to my present-day self, which allows me to become aware of how far that I've progressed. And this allows me to feel rejuvenated in my level of journey. So create some form of content as you are bringing this norm sharp to life. As your lane, it's clear, is free from the traffic. It becomes fun to document the journey. And as you are chronicling the journey, review back on the old work every now and then. So you see how far you've come. 10. Curiosity: One bonus tip that I wanna give you is curiosity. It doesn't necessarily matter which religion someone is, which ethnicity someone is. If someone is a hardcore scientists, they all understand the value of learning. If someone were to talk about what is the purpose of life, It's not that ridiculous to say. The purpose of life is to learn, learn what that is up to you. But soon as you start to engage the mind to constantly keep learning, that's one good, bad. Whatever moments start to become data points that you can extract meaning from. And a mind that is consistently thinking about how it can learn more does not necessarily entertain such deflating, negative, fixed minded thoughts. It's shorts to become more of a growth mind. You could argue that it is impossible to become a growth mind without curiosity. And if you do not try to become curious regarding something empowering such as your north star, then, unfortunately, but you're going to become curious about gossip, drama and a whole bunch of negativity. So your curiosity is a direction. You can choose whether or not you want to face it towards training or empowering. 11. Final Project: Now it's time for the class project. What I want you to do is create your own definition for confidence. Once you have your definition, I want you to think of three different practices that can be used in order to bring this definition to life. In this class, I talked about my definition of confidence being when your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and discipline are in harmony with one another. And the way that we can make this a possibility is to no longer compete with others and compete against yourself. I talked about the importance of discipline, having a gratitude practice, and the importance of content creation. These were my personal practices. What are yours? So quick little recap. Find your definition of confidence. List out three different practices to bring this definition to life. Once you have your ideas gathered, go ahead and post it in the class project section right below. You can inspire others to view confidence in a completely different light. I appreciate you for joining this beginner's class on how to become more confident in yourself. And if you would like more content from the Armani talks brand, be sure to check out or money talks are com, which has practical resources on topics such as public speaking, storytelling, emotional intelligence, along with other soft skills, which will help you become much more articulate and expressing your ideas or money And I look forward to hearing from you.
