1. Introduction: welcome to my course, only teaching the basics of shocker. By the end of this course, you will know how to download shortcuts. Open shock up, change the layout, import videos at tracks, manipulate trucks on filters, change properties, export videos, creates new foils and save shot. Got files, shop cut free video software. End of this course. You will master the basics, so let's begin. 2. Downloading Shotcut: to download. Shocker. We first opened up browser, and then we can go to a short cut. Don't look. Once the pages loaded, we go to the download section. And from here, you can choose from the different makes and models of shocker. As you can see, there is the 64 windows installer from gets up. We're just going to use that. It will ask us where we want to download it. I'm going to download this to my downloads file. Save it there. Now that the foil has finished downloading, we can open in folder. And as you could see, the installer is now here. We can open this by double clicking on it with the left mouse button. And then it will open up the installer here. It will often come up with asking your permission to be able to allow this to make change device under a select Yes, and then he of the terms of conditions. It is good that you read these that you understand what your green to. I've already read these. So I'm just gonna click green, and then it's gonna ask where you want to see them usually will be automatically in program files, so we just click next on. Then here it's going toe removed the old program files and install the new ones. Here you're just click install and a willing style and install it. However, I already have shotgun downloaded, so I'm not going to do that. 3. Opening Shotcut: Now that we have shocker installed, we can open it by going toe a Windows Explorer or Mac Finder and searching for a short cut . As you can see, the application has come up. We can select this and it will open. As you can see, here is opened and you file. 4. Changing layout: now to change the layout we go to view on Dhere, we can select different options to be visible and also we can select the different areas to be visible. So if you could see with the Properties tab which is currently down here Andi, if we view this Andi, click it again. It will get rid of it from tamps. You could do with the same with the other tubs such as export. And as you can see, they're gone. Or you could bring them back by clicking on them or using the keyboard shortcuts control too for the properties and control nine for the export. 5. Importing videos: to import videos. We first go to the playlist tab, and then we can even drag and drop files from a folder such as here. I have my recordings for this course so far. I could take one of the previous recordings and put that in here. And then, as you could see, that is now in here. Or I can open file and choose from the same area and shoes the recording and I can click Plus here, which, as it says well at the source to the playlist, This over here is the source. The video currently playing on the play list is the list of videos that are available. 6. Adding tracks: to add tracks. We go down here to the timeline and click on the drop down menu. Here you can see with multiple options remain to a Grammy video track on audio track. As you could see, there was a keyboard shortcut. Control. Iran control you. We can also just click on them, and it will make one a track appear. Now that we have a video track available, this enables us to put videos in. 7. Manipulating tracks: two and a video to a video track. Regard the playlist and click and drag on the video down to the timeline. When will you release? The video will be added to the timeline. As you can see, it is here, and we can move it by clicking and dragging on it and then moving to the left or to the right. Once we release, it will be moved to that position, moving well automatically be selected with snapping, which will make it more fit in place and move So it's more group together and fits. We've have a tracks in the timeline, whereas if you d select toggle snapping and then it will allow you to more intricately move the track across the time line. You can also split the track by selecting in it at one point and then even selecting this symbol here for pressing s and that will break up the video. As you can see, we now have multiple parts to the video, which we can individually move or removed by deleting it with the delete key or the backspace. And then this war neighbor was to have certain parts of the video that we want 8. Adding filters: to add filters. We first select the clip in our timeline and then go to the filters tab. From here we can select the plus, which will add a filter, and we could choose from many filters. The favorites will be here with a star next to them. And then you could view all of the video filters here and all of the audio filters here. So I'm going to go back to favorites on the main ones. I use our fade in audio fadeout audio and gain volume on the mute. So if we want to feed in the audio on this video, we select that. And as you could see, it has added. But feed in there. You can see it because it's shaded that section of the video. We can extend the duration by going here to the duration. Here it is, seconds, minutes, hours on. This is milliseconds here so we can make this two seconds instead. And as you could see, that's now given a feed in with the audio at the beginning, we click this here to ride back to the very beginning. Then we can play it to import videos as you can hear that was gradually faded in which is useful for If you want to add music over the top on making a gradual fade in instead of it's suddenly starting playing, we can also at the other filters by going plus again and then adding Gain volume and you can under presets here so you can put gained 10 decibels, and then you can make this preset by adding it on a naming it. If we want to remove one of the filters we have, we select on it and then click the minus, which will delete it. We can do this for both, and as you could see, all the filters have now been removed. 9. Changing properties: to change the properties of a clip. We first select on it by clicking a link with the left mouse bottom and then going to the properties tab. Now that we're here, we can change such settings as the speed by going up here. Andi changing the value from one because it's currently one time speed to, say zero point nine times speed. Once we press enter, it will now change that. So it has now changed to 90% speed instead of 100%. Now we can play this to import of videos and, as you can tell, the speed has slowed, causing audio to deepen and lower in the video. 10. Exporting videos: Once you have finished editing to export it, you go to the export tamp, and then I prefer to use the YouTube setting, as that is generally the highest quality. Now we go to this export file bottom and select that it will ask us where we would like to see this. I'm just going to save in the same place. And now I'm going to call this test. Now we can save. And as you could see up here in the jobs category, you can see that is now exporting that file. It is now done shown by the tick. Then we can go back to this file and shoes the test export to import of videos. As you can see, that is what is in our timeline, exported as a simple MP four file. 11. Creating new files: to open a new file. We go to file and then select. New as you can see, it is now loaded a new file, which is helpful whilst you are editing multiple lengthier videos because it can carry on processing whilst you edit the next one and you can have multiple pending on their on. Once you've completed, you could leave those depend. As long as you leave short cut open, they will carry on processing into their dunk. Now, from here, we can start again. We could edit new videos. 12. Saving Shotcut files: now to save this weaken go file and then select. Save this will. Now ask us where our computer. We'd like to save it. We can choose file on our computer and then decide and name. I'm going to call this test shot cut when you click. Save it will save that file there. This allows us to go file and open, and then we can choose that file from where we saved it. Here, as you could see on it loads up. What were you saved? This enables us to go back and edit psych even after we export it, which is very helpful if you know you're gonna make future alterations. 13. Project - Apply your knowledge: for the project. I'd like you to download shortcut, open, shock up import of video, ended the video, export the video, upload it to YouTube and copy the link to the project section of this course. It would be greatly appreciated if you left a review, watched my other courses and shared my course.
