1. ID Ladies Salsa Vol2 Trailer: And then pull out to the site. That's the sort of tension you should feel in your upper body. So you bend your leg and you swing the other one around like Louis. So just try to keep it straight to the size and snuff together. Go, go, go, go, go through to occur. 2. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 0 Course Intro: Hello, my name is Karina verse and I'm part of the Incognito dance company. Welcome to the salsa lady styling course for improve us. In this course, we will build on what you've already learned in the Beginners Course. Introducing loads of new moves, core techniques, and styling tips that will take your dancing to the next level. Let's get started. 3. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 1 Recap Routine: We are starting with a short recap routine that will cover all the steps that you learned in the beginning. Of course, if you need a little refresher of any of the steps, feel free to go back and have another look. Practice again before you move on. We will start with all the basics. First step, back and front. So it goes 12356 site to site 123567 on the spot 123567 back 12356 open break, 123567, side and cross site and cross snout change you're facing or 5-6, seven. Now we're moving on to the mumble taps. So we tap right and then left, right, left, change your facing, right and left. Then do half a basic. We do a full basic, 12356 into our walks, 1234567, then half a basic. And we move on to our kumbaya step this time on the left. So we go 5678, 1234. Finish your basic again, half a basic and into the susie. Q. 123567123567. Now we're moving on to the slide. We go 1256712 and we do a flick, 57, Some kicks, 2345678123567. And another flick this time of our right leg, 567, one. And these are pretty much all the steps you've learned in the beginner course. 4. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 1b Recap Routine Practice To Music: What a soluble equation is, let's say a cap of a salt. The data has been, what is social inclusion? A low, say, Academy above a Santo. And I'll do the demo. 5. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 2 Guapea: This step is called Sqoop beta, where beta is the basic step in Cuban Salsa. But in cross body cells, you can also use it to just spice up your basics a little bit and add a little flavor to your shines or your freestyle. Also, there is a lot of different versions, but now we're just gonna learn three of them. Let's start for the co-op where we take a smaller step to the back. So just behind your foot. So you have a lot of weight on your right foot. So you can push off diagonally to your left. So we go one, then push off your right foot and take a big step to the corner into your left. So that's 123, we close. Then on five, we crossed over your left. On six, we step back and on seven we come together. So you go one, push off, 235, crossover, six step back, seven, close. Once more. 123567. The beauty of this step is really that push at the beginning. So you go 123567, once from the front, 567123567. It helps if you bend your knees at the beginning one because then you can push off button two and on 3V Come up here. So you're styling is down and up over 567. Let's try that again. Bend your knees down, slide out onto your toes, leaned forward. So it's basically fall into that step across, stepped back, and together once more, 567123567. This is the basic version. Let's add some beautiful arms. So our arms are just going to go up on the site and then down our body. Okay. So we do one on to the arms, come up on three where all the way up. And then 567, the arms come down once more. 123567, ones from the front. 567123567. So my homeschool, that crossover a little bit and then brush you head out. And your hands folded into your site. One last time, 567123567. Let's do another version. Step back on on one. Again. We take a big step to the left to replace your left foot. If you're right on three and put your left foot out on for let's just do that again. We go one step on to replace the leg on three and leg out on four. Last time, 5671234. And we finished the step exactly like we finished the others. 567. Once more, 5671234567. From the front, it looks like this. 5671234567. Once more, 5671234567. If you feel very comfortable with this step, it's also something that I use to hit an accent or something I know is coming up in the music. So you can do it slightly faster like this. 123 and hold 567. So then you can hit an accent, Hold it little bit, and then move on once more faster. 5671234567. 6. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 2b Guapea Practice To Music: Let's put all the three versions to music. First, we do a basic version than arm up and then shoot out. And then we repeat, lets do it. Water-soluble coding. What I mean is the following, that what can we do know is that they belong. So that's a sample survey for a solid again and then when the data, and then I'll be illustrating the sacrifice that never Stovall income just like MRSA, then they will have data level, then the sun, you move on from there and then just sit there for an association I consider beta. Testing time is passing flow would if needed. 7. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 3 Right turn versions: We're now learning two of my favorites, right? Turn variations. You learned the basic versions in the beginner course, but now we're making it slightly more interesting. The first one is a hook term. We're starting with half a basic 123 into your right-hand turn. 56, swivel around on seven, release your right leg on eight, then Hooker behind on one. Makes sure you bend your legs so you have nice stability. And also you can hook more. If you stretch your legs, then you can't hook properly and you will lose your balance. Bend your legs. Then we step on our left leg away from wherever you facing. And then we turn around. Step to your partner or the front or whatever you're facing with your right leg. And then we finish our basic 567. Once more. Starts with half a basic 123 into your basic writen 5678123, and finish your basic ones from the front. 5.567, a basic into your right turn, release your leg, hook behind bom. Bom, and finish your basic. Once a bit faster. 5671235671234567, it's very important to keep your core engaged if you lose your balance and also keep your hands up. That will also help you to turn and keep them still viles to turning. K. Once more. 56 71235678123567. 8. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 3b Right turn versions Practice To Music: By 67 x one. What is some people think that when I move the body effect dealt with good reader. But there's always that reality is not exactly one side. We've got bad luck. Said that a plasma samples though, the status that is not all that sort of thing. 9. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 4 Isolations: In this section, I will talk about how you can use isolations to interpret music. What are isolations? It's when you move one part of your body only and the rest of your body is still. So we did this already, for example, in the begin of course, when we did only move our shoulders. And other isolation I like to use is when I stick up my chest and back, out and back. At this point in your dancing, you start to listen more to the music. And you don't just want to keep going with your basic and do, for example, whole routine that you learned. But you want to start interpreting the music with your body. So isolations are a very easy way to do that. For example, in the music, in salsa music, one of the instruments that are very prominent is the Clavey, the cloud sheridan goes like this. Sometimes the song starts with the cloud only, and then the other instruments come in later on. So you don't want to start with your basic immediately. You, for example, you just stand there very elegantly and then you wait for the music. Or your hips. Like that. That's just one example. Or sometimes you hear a really clear baseline heart base and you want to do a big movement like you're just like, boom, boom. That's another example. If you want to learn more about isolations and different ways, how you can move your different body parts. Then please go to our isolation course. 10. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 5 Rond de Jambe: This step is called Honda shown the term comes from ballet, but you can use the step in salsa and lots of other dance styles. Basically, it goes like this. You bend your standing leg and you draw half circle with your other leg like this. So imagine you have a pen by u tau and you draw half circle on the floor. Your standing leg is bent, so you have more motion. You have a bigger range of movement. And your left leg in this case, is straight and goes all the way around. And ideally, you foot is nice and pointed at the end, like this. So just try this on both sides. Round and round. Let's put it in the context of salsa. We do half a basic 123. Then we start our round. We go forward with our left leg, bent the right leg, and go all the way around on 567 or eight, you transfer your weight back onto your left leg. And we can go again, 12 35678123. We can do the same with our right leg. This time we do a full basic 123567. Bend your left leg, stretch your right leg, and go all the way around. And on for you. Step forward for to go 567 again, 1235671234567. Let me show you from the front. 5.567, basic 56781235678, the other side, 5671234567, once more to the right, 5671234567. This step might look quite simple, but you can add one little thing that makes it very sexy. Look at this 123 and you add a little hammer on the leg. Bring it up. And 567. And just like that, you have a very central step in yourselves. I will cutlery. 11. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 5b Rond de Jambe en l’air: Now I will show you a few more options how you can use your own Duchamp in Salsa. The first one is called Honda, shown on left. Again, obviously this term is coming from ballet, but it means that the leg is in the air or all Air. India. Okay, so let's start with our basic. We go 123. You take a little jump and swing your left leg around. This time it's India, warm so you don't touch the floor. And then we just finish off our basic 567. Again, 123567. You have to really engage your core for this one to keep your balance. Also make sure you really bent this leg so your motion is big and you have more stability on the ground. If you move further up, you have less stability. Maybe you just want to do this exercise quickly with me. So you bend your leg and you swing the other one around like this. Just to test your, your stability home and your balance. Once you've mastered this exercise, you can use it in yourselves or let's do it again with the basic step, 567123567123567. Let me show you from the front. 567123567123567. 12. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 5c Rond de Jambe incorporated into a right turn: In this next version, we incorporated into a right-hand turn. Start with half a basic 123, then go into your right-hand turn, 567. We step and immediately release our right leg. So we step together and release your right leg, swing it around on 78, and then go 123 once more. So we do have a basic Go into your right turn 56, then step and release 781, 23. Once more. 567 Hartford basic, 235678123 from the front, 5671235678123. 13. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 5d Rond de Jambe Round The World: Our next version, or version C, if you will, is you can use it in the step called around the world. Sometimes when we do a warm up or something, we use this step called around the world. And you can put a little Rhonda shop in their style it out a little bit. So let me show you around the world first. We go from half a basic 123, then crossed over the left 56 together. And then we crossed the right leg in the back. 123. Once more, half a basic 123 cross over 567123. We call it around the world because you sort of go in a circle. Yeah, instead of just straight forward and back, let's do it once more. 567123567123567. Let me show you from the front. 567123567123567. So this is your basic around the world. Are you crossing the front and the cross in the back? Now let me do it with a Rhonda shop. Half a basic first 123, crossing the front 56. And then instead of just coming together, we replaced the feet and we round our right leg around to then go in the back. Once more slowly. We go 123, cross in front, 56 on seven, we replace circling right leg around on eight, and then we go 123 once more. 123567123 from the front, 567123567123. Once more by 67123567123. 14. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 5e Rond de Jambe Practice To Music: Let's try all these versions with music. We do each version twice. And the basic in-between, the defeat 567 latch water-soluble class. What are the small gap to capacity, right. But your lower back? Right. Along with John on a similar condition, that is the design resolves down to the cloud. Save the file something. They actually data today. And again, right up and we start with pleasure there like this are given based on their usage. 15. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 6 Flares: We're now going to do flips. We're doing three different versions. The first one is very basic, but you can use it to highlight an accent or a stop in the music. We start with half a basic 123. And then on five, you should that your left leg to the site. Five. So you bend your right leg and your left leg is nice and straight. Your foot pointed at the end? This is your position on five, then you drag it slowly in. On 6-7, on 80, transfer your weight back onto your left leg to go back into your basic. Let's do again. 5671235678123. Once more, 1235678123 from the front, 56712356781. And go from the frontier. Well from the front, 1235678123. You might already notice that I do a dramatic head to the site, so accentuates that leg a bit more. And also you can place your hands on your leg and drag it up a little bit like that version I showed you as Toronto shop where we did this. Okay. So half a basic 1235. Put your hands on the fly and look over to your left, 56781356 and once more from the back, 5671235678123. Again, this is something you can use for breaks and accents. 16. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 6b Flares in a sequence of two eights: Our next version is over a sequence of two-eighths. We do several flares. Let's start with half a basic 123. You flare out your left leg on for crossover on five, right on six, over on seven, left on eight. And that's your first date. Let's do that again. So we go half a basic 1234, cross in front 56, cross in front 78. Then we do the second eight. We start with half of basic to the front, one to cross behind, three add-on for cross behind 5678. And we're back on our right foot, 4123567. So you have to do to eight to get back on your right foot. Let's do again. 56781234567812345678. You might have just notice then the I crossed behind on the first ones. You can do this however you like. You can go all of them forward or you can always you can stay on the spot and always crossing right in the front and the left in the back. Or you can mix it up. You can go forward, back, back, forward, however you like. But you do have a basic, three flares, half a basic and three flares. And then you should be back on your right foot. 17. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 6c Flares bachanga style: Our next flare version takes inspiration from Birch Hunger, which is a whole other dance, Shara, but it's used a lot in salsa. We start with just one complete basic, 123567. Then we start flares on the right. So you put your leg out straight, your left leg is bent, hip is out. And we drag our leg in, boom. And then we change. So it's a continuous version of that very first step that I showed you. We just drag it in and change over, drag your leg in and changeover in an hour, in and in and over. On the front, we go 12356712345678 on aids, you transfer your weight back on the left to go 123567. Okay, to make the step look nice, it's very important that you stick your hip out to the side and you lean slightly towards this stretch legs like this. So you drag it up and change over and over and over and over. If you feel comfortable with that, you can add your shoulders and more body movement. 18. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 6d Flares Practice To Music: Let's do all these flare options to music. We'll do two of each, one. By the 67. She says is unless each each cache. I think. This is the base station. Yes, sir. 19. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 7 Side and Spin: Now we're going to do a sidestep spin. Start with your half basic to decide 12. And then we spin half a turn around, close helix three. Let's try it again. One, to close your legs together. Three. And then we can do the same thing on the other leg. 567. Again, 123567. It's very important that you now engaging your core, you lift your chest up and you keep your hands up so you don't lose balance. Also, I see a lot of people when they start spinning, they got up. But you should always keep grounded. So keep your legs bent and keep your weight on the balls of your feet. Never touched heels on the floor because he can put you off balance, especially if the floor isn't smooth. Okay. Let's try again. 567123567. This is the half-term version. Let's turn to the front, 567123567. We can also do it and spin a full turn. Let's try. So you go 12, you do the same movement but spin 360 round three. And then the other side, 567. Once more, 123567, from the front, 567123567. You might notice I'm helping myself with my arms. So when I step out, I have my arms in this position. Your left arm is in front of you and your right arm is out. So when you spin, you can close your right down in and that will give you extra momentum. So you go 123567. 20. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 7b Side and Spin Practice To Music: 567 bytes one. Let's go with basic. Again. Your basic, Falta M. So I get h by site, setbacks, journey. Let's go across. So that is that. And it was said that it is. 21. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 8 Routine 1: It's time for another little routine that combines all the steps we've just learned. For the intro. We're just gonna move our hips in a figure of eight. So we've got 1234. Then we go into some flares. We go 123. The third one sort of gets interrupted. We'll do some shimmies, do, do, do, do, do. And then some just pops, bom, bom, bom. So the shimmies and the chest pops obviously are isolations. So tried to move nothing else. Let's do it again. So we do four hips, 1234 into the flares. One, Two, Three, shimmy, shimmy, shimmy, pop, pop, pop. And on the last part, you have to transfer your weight to your left leg. Then we go into a double right turn. So you go 123567123567. Next step is an around the world with a little run the shop. So we go 123567123. Let's see that again. From the beginning, starting with your hips, we go 1234567, flair to three, shimmy, pop, pop. Transfer your weight. 1234567123567 into the around the world. 1235671235671 more, 567123456712345. Shimmy shimmy pop, pop, pop. 123123567 around the world, 23567123567. Moving on, we will do one of those, rhonda Sean only. So we go 123567 into a Gua Ba out with our arms up 123. But we don't finish 567, we just take two steps. 567. So we go into a flare, just this one slowly again, we, we start a cooperator, 123, and then we take two steps. One on the second one would bring our arm out and we do a flare. Nice and straight leg out. Boom. Just this move again. We go 1235671. Last time. 123, cross over and out from the front. Just this MOOC because it's a bit tricky. 567123567. Your left hand is coming to your hip. You're right. Pan this out. Then. We just move our right and our right arm comes up. Okay. We are here. We go, 123. And then we bring it down over your hair and you can move your hips a little bit if you want to. Let's again from the beginning. 567 hips, 1234567, flat 35, shimmy, shimmy, pop, pop, pop. 123, double term, 67123567 or around the world, 567123567 round on 567123456. So 123567. This much again, 5671234567. Flips 12345, shimmy, shimmy, pop, pop, pop. 123567123567 around the world. 567123567, Rondo la, 5-6 seven Gua Bayer One, 23 step and out, 123567. Let's just add on the very end, not much left. We, after this, we'll do our site and spin. And spin into two hips. Bom, bom. Again, sort of isolation your hips out and out. So from here, we dragged our foot in And our arm up, then we bring it down. Then we go into psi. Spin around. Bring your hands together and boom, boom. Once more from the front, just from this position. Bringing arms up. We'd bring it down with the hips. Then we go side and spin. Catch your hands during the spin and let me go, boom, boom. And that's the end. 22. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 8b Routine 1 Practice with counts: Let's practice the whole routine with counts 567123456712345, shimmy shimmy pop, pop pop. 123567123567123567123567123567123567123567123567. Once more, 5671235671235, shimmy, shimmy pop, pop, pop. 123567123567123567123567. 123567123567123567123567. 23. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 8c Routine 1 Practice To Music: Then right. 24. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 9 How to lift arms: I will now teach you a few different ways how you can lift your arms up nicely, but also safely on the dance floor. You will see every dancer has their own personal style, of course. But all the arm movement can be put in two main different categories. The first one is lateral. So you move your arm straight and the round your body. We've already seen this in our beginner course. Remember, your hand follows your arm. So when I move my arms up, my hands is pointing down. When I move my arm down, my hand is pointing up, like so. This gives it a very soft look. You can also move your arm only to the site and down. Like when you, for example, do a basic sidestep, you can go 123567 and you can already see your basic is elevated. The second way you can move your arms up is central. So from your body out. If we move our arms to the side, we lead with our fingertips through the center of our body. And then you unfold your arms. So you go from your from your shoulder, elbow, and lastly your hand. Okay. So we lead with our fingertips up through the center of our body. Then we lift our elbow and then unfold your lower arm. And lastly, your hand. On the other side, lifts your fingertips. Your elbow, unfold your lower arm and hand. And responsive arms. Lift. Elbows, unfold. Enhance. Lift, elbows, unfold, hats and Bell. Or we can also obviously lift our arms all the way up. So again, beginning is to say we lift from the fingertips, then we brush our teeth with the back of our of our hand. And then from your elbow you lift it up. And at the end, we turned out our hand to the outside. Once more. Lift from your fingertips. Brush your cheek, then lift your elbow up and twist your hands at the end. On the other side. Lifts. Brush your cheek and twist. Or with both arms. Lift, brush it cheeks. And twist. When you have your arms up, make sure that you don't raise your shoulders too much. So don't raise your shoulders to year. Make sure they're nice and down. Don't have your arms straight because your wrists should touch at the top, like this. Also. As always, keep your hands nice. And then this shape, your cherry between your middle finger and your thumb. And earlier on in the begin the course, we squeezed Penn Between our middle fingers and our other fingers. So like this. So up. And then you have two options. You can lower your hands. Central. Usually, I brushed them over my head and down my body. Or ones your arms are up. Can lower them lateral. On the site. Like this. When you use the lateral form, you can also go up like this and then twist your hands and go down like this. So it gives it a sort of flowery effect like this. And these are a few ways how you can raise your arms up. You can also mix the two styles. So for example, you can lift your arms up, central to decide and then lateral all the way up. And then central down. So we go Central. How we just practiced it, unfold from your elbows, arms, then lateral all the way up. Or you could twist and then go all the way though. We've combining the two lateral and central, you have tons of options. Let's practice just the lateral options with music. 25. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 9b How to lift arms Practice Lateral Arms To Music: It is imprecise. Take cell? It is. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Which is which is which is good, which is much faster than that. And that would lead to a phase change. 26. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 9c How to lift arms Practice Central Arms To Music: Let's practice the central versions with music. Too much, which it acts. Yes. 27. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 10 Travel Turns: This section is about travel terms. Basically, all the spinning and turning we do insults are, can be categorized in three different types of terms. The first one we've already covered in our begin the course. It's the step turns. So you have your right and your left turn. Just a quick demonstration. We have our writer, 123567, and our left-hand 123567123. As you can see, I'm stepping mostly and not spinning around the floor. I want this category is the travel turns. So we're traveling whilst we're turning. And then later on we are going to look at spinning, which is one of the most difficult moves for ladies in Salsa. But more about that later on, right now, we will talk about travel turns. So in cross body salsa, we traveled on a straight line. So it's very good if you can do that by yourself and the guy doesn't have to move you to move along those lines. So a quick exercise to start with. Stand sideways to where you're going. Then we step and then you half a turn like this, and then another half a turn like that. And you're featured always step on the same line. Again. So we step half a turn, half a turn, and then keep going. Half a turn. Half are always on the same line. Maybe you can practice this in your corridor at home or somewhere where you can't go into other directions, where you have to stay in your lane. That's a very good exercise. Also, don't forget to spot. Make sure you look at something. Look, look where you go because then automatically you move into that direction. If you start looking onto the floor or back to where you came from, then it holds you back. If you look where you go, then automatically you traveling to that direction. So let's try again. Make sure you call is engaged like always. Your hands are up, your shoulders down, and your knees are bent. Make sure you're grounded and don't suddenly lift up too much. Okay. So we go one hafta, often, half-term, half-term, and so on. Once you feel comfortable with that, you can go faster and faster. I show you, we go to build up to that. You, instead of going half stop, half, stop. You can do two halfs and then stop. So we go 12, stop, one to stop. That's the next step. Let me show you from the site. So your first step is half-done, 0.5.55.5. Your next step, a full turn and then stop. One to stop. One to stop. And then continuously spins, spins. Like this. Make sure you practice on both sites because and salsa, we turn to the right and to the left. So you don't want to be strong on one side and not so strong on the other side. You want to be strong on both sites. We see this mostly when we do what is called inside and outside turns in salsa. So let's do these terms with the right footwork. So for your insight, turn, we go 123, we start 567. Once more. We go 1.52, a basic, and then we start turning 567, sorry, Mike counting was a bit off there. Again. 567123567. Let me show you from the site, 5.567, a basic 123. You already start turning 567 from the other side, 567123567. And this is your insight turn footwork. You turn towards your partner and on a line, and you move yourself So your partner doesn't have to pull you. Let's do the outside term. We go 123. This time we turn over our right shoulder. We go 567123. Once more. 5671235671234567123567123 from this side, 567123567123. And these are your insight and outside basic troubled terms. 28. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 11 Hip Rolls: Let me show you how to do a hip roll. Most commonly, you will see hip roles when the guy is doing something in front of you, like a turn or something and you can't step forward into your basic. So it's a nice way to style it out. We start with half a basic to the back, 123. Then instead of stepping forward, we stepped to the site. You push your hips out to your left, then round to the back, to the right and close your left leg in. Once more. We go 1235671231. Last time. 1235678 or eight year transfer your weight back on your left leg so you can go one. Alright. Once more. 135678123 from the front. 56781235678123. Make sure that your legs are straight. It does not look nice if you'd like so but OK. Looks very awkward. So make sure your legs are straight and you're just pushing out your hip and your leaning forward. So from the site looks like this to my left back sight. And really important, keep your leg straight. Of course, you can also do the hip roll to the other side. So we do a full basic 123567. Step out on your right, one for shoe hips to the right, then back around to the left and close again. 123567123, close on, four to go. 5671 last time. 5671235671234567. From the front, 5671235671234567. It's also very important that you keep your upper body as upright as possible. We do lean forward, but make sure you don't hunch forward. Okay, so keep it nice and extended and just tried to art, you're back out like this. Okay. We can also do hip roles to the front. So instead of stepping side, we stepped to the front. So one foot in front of the other. And we lift our hip up and to the back. So it's very important that you use your leg for this motion. So we go forward and round, push it forward up and round to the back. Let me show you 5671235678123. 5678. You can also do a continuous hip motion action as long as you want, basically using your arms up your body, or ever you feel like doing. In 18, for example, you can do to hip roles, which looks like this. 12356712345678123567. Let's do all these versions with music. 29. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 11b Hip Rolls To Music: Let's try those hip roles with music will go right, left, right, left, forward, and then double forward, right and left. Each version twice. By basic Muslims made by seven. Let's begin. Now to the right space and fast and gullible. And let's not difference. Let's now write from right to the front. Double authorize. Another one of those sports. Now we do double level that. The mountains. So by seven. Again, which makes sense, right? System that pinch it again. And by the rest again. Maybe several data right here. The honest answer, the length. Lets again. Mm-hm. 30. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 12 Swing Step Basic: We will now work on a step called swings that start with your basic 1235678. We tap our right foot. Then we go to our right. We step out one close together, step out and tap once more. So on eight-week tap, we go 1234. Then the same to your left, 56, 78. You might already notice that I go down when I step one, I bend my legs. When I close, I stretch my legs, step again down and stretch. Bend and stretch. Bend and stretch. This bending and stretching action will give the step the swing feel that we're looking for. Again from the top. We go bend together, bend and bend together. Bend and tap it faster from the basic 567123567812345678. Also, when I'm bending my legs, my weight is going slightly backwards. When I stretch my leg, my weight is going forward. So let's just do a quick exercise. Bend your legs and stretch. Bend and stretch. Just from the side so you can see better what my upper body is doing. We bend, lean backwards, stretch, lean forward, bend and stuff. Bend. And strict. Bend, stretch, stretch, stretch and stretch. You should feel really comfortable with that body action and leg action. Before you do this step. This, this feeling of going backward and forward accentuates the swing action that we're looking for. Once more waste the body movements. From the top. We go 12345678123456, 78. We've our arms, we gonna swing them back and forward. So brushy legs and forward. In the front, we're gonna cross them a little bit. Back, forward, back, forward. As you can see, your arms are swinging as well. 1234. Let's do it with the arms. 567812345678. From the front. 56781234567. Let's go from a basic 56712356781234567812345678. This is your basic swing step. 31. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 12b Swing Step Cross Version: This is the basic version. If you want that make your step slightly bigger. You can cross in the back. Let me show you. So from your top Big-O one to u crossed in the back, 345 crossing the back. 7812345678, 12345678123456712345678. So it makes a step slightly bigger, longer to decide. Let me show you a different version where you cross the foot in the front. The way you go into the step is slightly different. We start with the beginning of what Bayer with a shoot out. Let's stopped. So we go small step to the back, big step to the side and replace your foot. So you have your left foot free. Again. That's on 12345671234. So this swing takes two into the swing step. You crossed in front, open, behind an out. Again from here. We cross in front, open behind and out. From the beginning, 567812345678. And then you did the same step to the other side, 123456781234567812345678. Same motion with your body going forward and back, bending your knees whenever your legs are crossed. Let's try again. 5678123456782345678. My hands I just swapped them sort of slower than in the normal cells of step, but the same motion, site to site. Let's try again. 56781234567812345678. And from here you can go back into your basic 567. Let me show you from the front. 56781234567812345678, back into your basic 5678. 32. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 12c Swing Step Practice To Music: Let's practice to music, will do each step twice, so together. Thank cross behind and then cross in front. Not cyanide. I don't know. That drop will not be allowed. Allowed out. 33. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 13 Body Rolls: I will now teach you how to do a body role and how you can incorporate body roles in yourselves. Or this will be a very quick explanation. If you want step-by-step break down how to do a body roll? Please check out our isolation course. Let's start. Our first position is just out. Lean over to one foot. So I've got my left foot in the front chest out. Step two, we arch over, transferred our weight back onto our right foot and stick you hit forward. So we lean back, ship forward. Our legs are straight and I will await is back on our right foot. So we go from one to make sure when you're up to your chest is not out anymore. It's in. So we go from here. Just this out. Arch over, leaned back and justice in. Hips are forward, lexer stretched and our weight is on our back foot. Step three is we bend our legs and sit down. Make sure you're not leaning forward or back. Your shoulders are over your hips. Ok. Straight up and your knees are bent. Your weight is on your back foot. So these are the three steps. Step one, just forward or with your left foot. Arch position to lean back, hip forward, legs straight and weight is on your back foot. Then bend the legs and sit down. We have the shoulders or would it let's do it slightly more smooth. We go 12313. Let's try the other side, just as the other foot in front. So we go 1231 just to lean back. Three sit down. That's it. This needs quite a bit of practice if you've never done it before. But don't worry. And if you do need a more Breck breakdown explanation, then again, go to our isolation course. Now, how can I incorporate a body roll into the salsa? Let me show you. We'd go half a basic 123, step out with your left foot and then start your body roll. So our our weight is on our right foot. We lift our chest up, arcs over, transfer your weight the left. Now within the leaning back position, legs are straight and then you sit down onto your left foot. So this happens on 5-6 seven. Bring your leg in to go back on 123. Once again, 567 we've got 123567123. From the front. 567123. Step out your left leg up with you're just back and sit. 123. Once more of it faster. 567123567123. What's nice about the body roll is you can do it slow and bake, or you can do it quite small and fast. But when you learn it, make each step quite big. So you get familiarized with the move. And then once you feel more comfortable, you can literally just do a very small body roll. And then you can also do it faster like this. 1235678123. So you saw I did two body roles in the time where we before did one, but I did it a lot smaller. What's also nice is that you can incorporate your arms. What I like to do is with a big body roll, I like to move my arms up while studying the body roll and then down. When I do the basic, let me show you 567123567123. And from the front, 567123567123567. And this is how you can use body roll in your salsa. 34. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 13b Body Rolls Practice To Music: Let's try the slow and the fast version a few times with music by seven. That is, flow is once again slow. And it ends fast. Which again far faster by investment sever. And again as in the last class. And each dish. 35. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14 Spinning Intro: In this section, we will work on spinning. Spinning is one of the most difficult techniques for us ladies in salsa. We have broken it down for you into different sections. So hopefully you can piece altogether through the exercises and with patience and practice, I'm sure you will become a master at spinning. 36. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14b Spinning Body Position: Let's have a look at the body position you should hold during the spin. First, your posture, your shoulders like always, should be nice him back. So not slanted over, but nice and back. If you want to feel the connection in your back and your arms, close your arms like this and then pull out to the site. Then you can feel those back muscles working and your shoulders to like this. And then pull out to the site. That's the sort of tension you should feel in your upper body. Then we obviously keep our core engaged. So keep those apps nice and tight. Keep to keep your stable in the middle and balanced. Then our knees are bent in the spin. This is one of the most common mistakes I see is that people as soon as that is start spinning and it's getting faster and difficult. Everybody pulls up. But this is a mistake. You should bend your knees and feel grounded to the floor. Your weight should be on the balls of your feet like this. Make sure you heels don't touch the floor. Even if you were high heels, they should come off the floor. Yeah. So keep your weight on the balls of your feet. Your core engaged, your shoulders up, your frame tight, and your eye line should be straight ahead. If your partner is taller than you, don't look him in the eye. Look at his chest or something? Yeah. If you if you are taller than your partner, maybe you look at his forehead or even at something behind him. So you should look straight ahead, not up or down because that will put you off balance because the head has a lot of weight. So if you look down, you might fall forward. If you look up, you might fall backwards. Yeah. So straight ahead, like this. And this is the position you should hold during the spin. 37. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14c Spinning Spotting: The next element of spinning is spotting. Spotting is very important for you because otherwise you get dizzy or you lose your orientation and you don't know anymore where you are or where your partner is. So make sure you spot. What do I mean by spotting? I already talked about this a little bit in the beginning of the course when we did our step turns. But let's break it down again. So what you wanna do is keep your head forward as long as he can whilst your body is already turning. So you keep it where it is. And then once you can't keep it there anymore, you swing it around and look at the same point again, whilst your body is still turning. So your body goes continuous, continuously. That's the word continuously. And the head is going fast. Snap, snap. Okay. So as an exercise, maybe stand in front of your mirror, look at yourself, and then keep looking at yourself. Keep turning your body and snap. Turn, Turn, Turn and snap. This is a good exercise. You can also sit on office chair, those ones that spin and spin yourself around and keep reading your emails. Snapchat, hit, read, read, read, and snuff. Keep reading, keep reading and snap. Make sure you try on both sides. So let's try the other way. We tell our body and snap. Turn their body and sleep. It's very important that you have no tension in your neck and shoulders. If you lift your shoulders up, then you have no movement in your in your neck and head. Yeah. So keep those shoulders down and your head nice and loose so you can move your body and turn your head separately. If you struggle with this, you can also another tip is think from your nose. So your nose goes round quickly. Thank you. You know, stays there. Amen goes around quickly. Maybe that helps you loosening up your head. 38. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14d Spinning Exercise 1: One of the most common mistakes I see if weight distribution. So people have their weight too far over or too far back, and this froze them off balance. So this first exercise tests your weight distribution, your body positioning, and you can practice your spotting. So we start with our left leg out and our right leg bent our weights over the balls of our feet. Your hands are in this position, so nice and square at 90 degree angle in front of you. Elbow should be on the same height then your shoulders and your hands are on your elbows together like this. Left foot out and we close the feet together. And just do a quarter of a turn. Make sure you snap your foot together. Form. This will help you to turn. So you snap your left foot to your right. Make sure your files are touching. Your ankles are touching. Maybe you're the balls of your feet are slightly apart. Your weight is on the right ball of your foot. If you turn over your right shoulder. So you snap together. Like so and you spin, tried to not twist. So we're not preparing like this. And then going for it, we're trying to keep our core stable, our shoulders, over our hip, and just try to move your whole corps. So we're here and the snapped the feet together form. And we move as one block, shoulders over the hips. Let's try out. And together. Then you can go on out. Together. Together. Together. Let's do it to the other side. Right foot out, snap it to the left foot, and turn. When we turn over our left. Of course, the weight is on the left ball of your foot. So when you snap together your right foot, this just sort of brushing along the floor, but you wait, you're turning on your left ball of your foot. Let's try the quote, the terms. We go out together, out, together, out, together, out and together. Once you feel comfortable with the quarter turns, you can do half a turn. Let's try left without 567 and snuff out 567 and snapped together on the other side. Right foot out 567, snapped together at 567. Snuff together. Really, I know it's hard, but really try not to prepare your upper body. So don't swing your upper body out. And then round. Also. Don't try to help with your arms. Yeah. Your arms are just in front of you straight and over your body. And we turn as one piece. Once you get comfortable with the halftime, of course you can do Fulton left without 567 and I lost my balance. Again, 567 and spin. Other side. 567. And spin. Snapping your feet together can really help you to get momentum and have you feed in the right position. If you don't slap your feet together, you might lose balance because it's not so tight. Yes. So let's try again. 5567 and split 567. And of course, once you feel comfortable with the half-term, we can do full terms. Left leg out, spin, right from the front, left leg gout and spin. And spin. 39. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14e Spinning Exercise 1 Practice To Music: Let's practice this exercise with music will do to slow and then to foster 567. And then I don't think so. And that punch to get that. 40. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14f Spinning Exercise 2: In this exercise, we will practice spotting. Obviously your body position, snapping your foot together, and transferring your weight. We start with stepping on your right leg. Your left leg comes out. Your arms this time. Are your right arm is in front of you. Your left arm is out. So same arm than leg is out. So we go 12. Then we snap our arm and I will put together and spin. Then we transfer our weight. So we step on the left leg. Right leg comes out. This time. Right arm is out, left arms in front of you. Snap your arm and leg together and spin. Again. Try not to twist too much with your upper body because for one turn, you really don't need that much force. So just try to keep it straight to the side and snapped together. If we did the previous exercise, you should be really good at that. By now. Lets go. We go step one and out, snapped together. Then we change and out, snapped to get them from the front. One out snuff, and one out snap together. It is really important that you step straight on your body. So where you wait this you step because otherwise, if you step out of forward or back, you have to then transfer all your weight to that place. It's much easier if you step straight onto yourself, your other leg out and then spin. So your weight is already in the right position. 41. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14g Spinning Exercise 2 Practice To Music: Let's practice this exercise with music will do to slow and then to foster 567 inches into business interests. So this into this, this into this with Excel city centers, which are actually dosage centers. 42. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14h Spinning Preparation: Let's talk about the all important preparation. You step on one onto your right foot, but just underneath yourself, so your weight is already there. Then on to three, you start turning and bring your left foot forward. K, So you twist your body to the corner. So my body is now facing the corner. My hips are facing the corner. My, my left foot is in front of me. My knees are bent, my phi's are together. K4 engage just arms up in frame like this. So you should be in this position. On the count of three. From the front. You step on one, on the NIF yourself. Then you twist your body to the corner, bring your left foot forward. Files together, knees bent, and arms in frame. If you're holding someone or if you're just doing it by yourself, there should be nice and connected to your shoulders. So we go 123. This is a very important position. Your weight is on your back foot. So in this case, on your right foot, 80% of your weight, 20% of your weight is on your left. Because you need to do, be able to do this action. Opening up, open and close. So just try this for now. Have your legs like this crust. And then push off your left foot open and push it again to close. Open and close. Like this, you can test that your weight is in the right position to then start spinning after this point. So we go 123. We open up to this corner and then snap our feet together to start to spin. Once again, we go 123567. Just try one spin for now. And then you can do multiple later. When you get very comfortable with it. Again, we go 123567. Right now making it very clear that you have to open up on five, but obviously later on this motion is going to be very quick. So you just 123 and go round. Yes. So don't think you have to open on five and be there on five. It's just a transition. Okay. Let's go again. 567123567 from the front, 123567123567. And this is your preparation for the spinning. Most times, especially in the less advanced levels, you would spin over your right shoulder. Later on, your spin all directions, right and left, right into left, a travel spin into a turn. All sorts of, all sorts of combinations. If you struggle holding your posture during the spins, then I have a very good exercise tip for you. Just grab one of your phone charger cables or any elastic band you have at home, then fold it in half and hold it between your hands, elbows out and pull so you can feel your back engaging. And then do this exercise with the cable. We go 123567, again, 123567 from the front, 567123567, again, 123567. 43. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 14i Spinning Practice To Music: Is spinning with music, will do three signals, and then on the last one, try a double. Five is seven, which is, which are defined as clever. 44. ID Salsa Ladies Vol2 15 Routine 2: It's time for the last routine of this course. We start with some hip isolations and you release your leg at the same time. So do your figure of eight tips. But I'm really releasing my legs one by one, side to side, like this. 1212. So if I move my hips to the right, I released my left leg and switch. So we do four of those. We go 1234, then we're going to basic step 123567. And then we do two open basics. 123567. The two open basics are with our arms up so you can practice moving your arm up nicely. So from the beginning, 567123567123567123567. From the front. This is just the intro to the music, again, 567123567, basic 123567123567. Then the song starts. We do a fast Columbia 123, and then asides basic 567. So that's 123567 or 83 tab, and we go into a swing step, 12345678. So from the beginning and when, from when the music starts, we go 12356781235678. Just that form the front. 567123, 5-6 tap on 812345678. Then we continue with a half a basic 123 into two slow flare steps, 5678. And during the two, during the two flair steps, we do a little shimmy because the music's or so. So we go 123567, then we go into a Suzy Q, Suzy Q, and then a body roll, 567. And during the body roll, I move my arms over my head and down 567, like this. So again, we went into a half a basic 123567 Suzy Q and bore the role. And you have to step on your left leg from the front. Justice, 5.567, basic shimmy, shimmy, Suzy, Q, and body roll.
