Project Description

Re-draw some motifs and personalize them to create a faux-pattern.

ASSIGNMENT:

During this class you'll learn the basics of using Illustrator. After each tool's lesson, you'll be asked to do a mini exercise that will help you practice what you've just learnt and build up your skills. The first three exercises' purpose is merely practical.

  • Execise #1: Replicate a basic illustration.
  • Exercise #2: Modify the illustration done in the previous exercise.
  • Exercise #3: Add new elements to the illustration.

The last three instead, are not only meant for you to practice the tools, but also to develop the motifs you'll use to complete the final project.

  • Exercise #4: Trace and modify the given motifs.
  • Exercise #5: Re-draw the traced motifs and edit them.
  • Exercise #6: Personalize one of the edited motifs into three new motifs.

Final Exercise: Make a faux-pattern using the three new motifs created on exercise #6.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Please upload a picture of each of the mini exercises and also the final exercise to the gallery.
  • You can upload screenshots of your progress or saved-for-web images.
