1. Introduction: Ok. Hi MD at the grocery than our district government or India. So I've been aboard data does for almost two years now and, uh, you do buffer almost seven to eight months. I've decided to create in-depth courses for my viewers so that they get to know all the techniques that I'm using to create beautiful color bentonite books. Now just gonna Benzer's, it's going to be mixed media. So I will be teaching you how to combine various mediums together and create a beautiful atom. When you use mixed media, it's actually time-saving. And although it enhances the drawing. So watch the full class and get to know all the techniques and create a beautiful burger at the end of the class. And also don't forget to share it. 2. Materials: Hey guys, thanks for jumping into the glass. Now let me show you the materials that I'll be using for this project. A pencil an aqua brush pen and a tombow mono 0 eraser These are my press McCullough premia fences. Here I've got Dutch gold markers and get in markers. These are water-soluble markers, so you can use any watercolor paints or in a water-based markers. The paper that I'm using for this artwork is Strathmore Bristol 300 series won't cheat. The other materials that we'll be using later in this class are white gel pens. This is from a particular brand called unipolar signal. And then this is the acrylic white paint and a glass marking pencil. 3. Choosing a Reference & Sketching: Now let me take you to the process of how I choose a reference. I have downloaded a few images from Pinterest. You can choose any search engines. What I usually do is select each ingredient from all the three or the four defenses. If it is a for drying, I mixin draw like creating a new dish with your choice of ingredients. So looking at this image, I like the green portion in this and the tomato. Then in this alike, the toppings and spinach. So the top brand will look empty if they don't add those. And the exponential decay looks good. Let's see the other image. Okay, Avy Chanel to add these mushrooms from here. It looks juicy. So I've chosen the spinach from here. So this is how I chose a reference image. So these are the things that I'm going to draw. Tomatoes from here, spinach, clean and dopings from here. The spinodal by combining the first and this one. The color looks bright and the second one. So this contrast looks very good. This particular image as a whole, no, looks very good. The background color, the bread, and everything. So let's combine all those important features and draw out evidence. So I'll be drawing here. First, initially mark where to start and end your drawings. This is a mistake that every beginner does. We don't leave enough space surrounding the drawing. So make sure you mark where the image has to start in. Live equals bases on all four sides of the drawing. This is the basic outline now for Brian. So make sure to keep it rough and also very light because if you days it, you shouldn't see defensive markings there. You can change the outlines later do with the color pencils. So need not worry much about the detailing. Yes. Just have a rough outline of water, all the things that you're going to add in your dry. So the sketching is almost done. So let's jump into the next class that is choosing your color palette. Let me show you how to select colors for your drawing. 4. Choose Your Colour Palate from Reference: Now it's time for us to build our color palette. So first observed the colors from your reference and the colors that if God, I got this Browns, win go well, but the reference for the bread and the Patti potions guard greens. Abusing this for the spinach. And then a skin shade that might suit for us in the clean potions. Then let me select the colors from the markers. Why I am choosing the similar colors in board together and markers. And these markers is because carolyn markers will be acting as a base layer for drawing. Whereas these markers, I'm going to use it for the final debtors. This actually has the capacity to enhance or to brighten the colors when we colored with the color pencils. So upon this we can go up, sheared off my touch cool markers. So these Browns and the mustard, I'll be using as a base layer for the top pushing and at the bottom. We can also use the same shape for a patty and the mushrooms and spin. And the markers, as I've told you, I'll be using it to enhance the Docker, don't it'll give a polished look to our colored pencil drawings. That is why I am using the Dutch gold markers. So the green shades I'll be using for the spinach. So this is how you have to choose colors for your drawings. Now, we should also select colors from our colored pencils. So let me how I do that. So first, pick all the colors that you see from the reference image. Pick all the similar colors of Brown outages at whatever you can see from the image. You won't need all these sheets. But first, you have to choose all the colors that will my tube, and then we should limit alcohol pilot. So these are all the shades that I've chosen. Now to make you understand, but let's segregate these sheets. Now in the process of segregating, I've also neglected few colors. So here I've got the dark dots. Then they met don'ts, and then we have all our light sheets. So this is how you have to choose a color palette. Have the dark dawns, med, and delight dawns. Similarly do the same for the green or red colors for the tomatoes and athletic. So I have the dark dots, lie tones and semitones. These are the sheets that have chosen 40 tomato dark shades, light any metopes. A deduction for the tomato will obviously be brown and black. So I've got that. 5. Base Layer: Now that we have chosen the colors and we have our outline, let's start with the basic. There are two ways to use these markers. It or giving a directly or use it like a paint by applying it on a pallet and then add water to it. So when you need a darker tone of that particular shade, user directly on the sheet. And venule need the lighter tone of that particular shade user doubled to auto. So this is the process of using these markers. So since I need a lighter shade, I'm gonna do a plague. Mixing it with water. And how much reward is required, and then use it like a watercolour paint. Suppose if you have not got these markers, you can use any other water-soluble substitutes or you can use watercolor paints to use it. My lead do not use lard. Only then you can add a color pencils upon it. So if you think you have to add a darker shade and that also. So I've got these branches on the reference image here. So I'm adding a little bit of brown to that. Now for the top bread, we actually have dark dawn small when compared to the lower part of the bed. So I'm giving good this shade directly. Then let's blend it with water. So use a lighter shade of this colour and then mix it via IV. Actually go for this method is you can save a lot of time instead of directly giving it with the color pencils and layering it a lot. You can give a beige created this mic don't automate layer with the colored pencil and then a finishing touch with the markers of pens that you have. So this process is actually saving a lot of time and also enhancing the drawing when compared when you use only colored pencils. I've already tried that. So I thought this will be the best method to use. Food illustrations. It actually gives you a brighter and a neat drawing with a little less time when compared to only colored pencils. So all modes are based shading, although it's all done. Now using the similar method, color these bananas with. So actually the colors look vibrant in the spinach. So I am directly using the markers on the drying. I'm not mixing it with water. Compare the reference image C variable. The greens are lighter, darker, and then give the colors. Don't just randomly start giving the colors. Combat dawns from the reference and then apply it on you're trying. Oh, these are the portions that are colors. Look why Ben. So for the rest, I'm going to mix it with water and apply to have a lighter shade. See, now you also mix to those don't also you got the lighter shade district wide. Now, our base shadings almost done for the burgers in the spinach. Now what I'm going to do is enhance the bugger with a little bit of orange sheet because I referenced has a little bit of a low and Odean shading debugger. So for that I dart this color will go well with the drawing. So here they are. Just apply a bit of orange. Since I don't have this particular domain in the Karen markers, I'm using this which avoid colored is soothing Well for you, you can use that. Then. I've already told you before that I'll be using these bunkers to enhance the Docker. Don't know why my adding a bit of dark brown to these drying later. We can also enhance the drawing at the final stage with these markers. 6. Building layers: Now before giving the base layer for the veggies and cream, I'll show you how to color the bread and it's financed using colored pencils about base layer. So first, I'm using the dark dots and smoothly a shaded along with the Monaco sheet. Next time using the lighter brown. Use this shade only where you have a Docker, don't. I mean, use dark shades. Weight avoid is required. The next column using this pumpkin orange, I'm using it to blend and smoother than the darker shade with the wind on. So try to blend the dark shade using lighter brown like this. Lastly, I'm blending the whole law shading with a creamy law. You can see now as we blended with the green yellow, it comes out smooth finish into the dry. Then to enhance the darker Dawn I'm using are dark brown. Or you can use these markers, whichever you feel is giving the darker dawn. You can use that. Then going for the toppings, like sleep looks in white colour or half white. That means a little bit of white and brown and cream. But we need a brighter white. If you use color pencils, it will not give you a very bright dawn. So now further, initially I'm using colored pencils and the Winger, later we can use acrylic white colors and n timestep writer tones. Now we are done with the top part of the bread. Let's repeat the same for this portion. Here in the reference image of this lower part of the brain didn't know doctrines in it. It just guard the mid tones and the lighter sheets. So I'm using lighter browns and creams alone to shade this pushing. Depending upon the difference image, you have to choose the colors and the contrast accordingly. If it has a high contrast, Use Docs Sheets. If it has a very light sheets. Go accordingly. Here again, I'm using the same crema law and blending it. Required darkness, just added a bit alter referred to your residents and then add always when you add a darker shade, a user lighter shade off that and blended with light chain. Only then it will give us more definition. If you leave it just like that with the dark shade, it will not mix with light chip. And finally, as usual, you should always blend with light shade pencil, ADR, or it can be white. Or in this case, I used a law, the clean air law, to blend everything. So try to use a lighter color and blend everything. 7. Greens & Veggies: So in this next slide, I'm going to show you how glad the details in the spinach. To start off, I'm starting with the high contrast values. And then gradually let's reduce the shipped. So first, deduct on, I'm starting with black. Then you can use dark green and light green. Now, after the black I'm using kept green. Whatever it is, choose the color that goes well with the base color, and also with your reference. Now you have to mix the dad candy mid tones. So slowly dendrite or tried to fill in all the gaps. Use differentiates to bring out a realistic look. Do not just use a single Benson because it will give you just a normal shade or a normal color menu, use different colours. It will give you a better look. I'm shading with light green now. You can also use a low or any other greens that you like. For the white sheets, I use both the glass marking Benson and also press McCullough white pensive. So whichever you think is best suited for you, you can use that. Don't just leave it as a PR white, shade, green colored above it so that it will live a mile green with a lot of highlighted. So once you're done shading it, you can draw the veins in it. And then according to the partition of the veins, you can detail it again. So here in my reference, I had a white rain that is because of the reflection of the light. So I am using the right Penseur for it. It's not just enough to give the rains. You had to depth near the veins. So try to add the darkness next to the highlights. Always there will be a bit of darkness near the Highland. So try to give that. Actually the real lesson lies in all these minor details. Only when you put effort and tried to fulfill the details in the drawing, you will get the realism or naturally and the families. So in this part the reins a have a light green don't. So I use a green pencil only instead of white. So depending upon the reference and wherever the shape changes, you have to use the colors. For the dark dawn, i'm using a moraine green. It's from breast, Benkler's all the color pencils and I'm using in this video are PRISMA colors only. O'donnel define details and the leaves and then draw that. I already told you that you have to give the death nail to the wan't. So only then it is look like a real spinach. You can see I used a bit of fear low here and depth. And again, I'm adding white to make it even more later. This is almost done. So this is how I'll be drawing the rest of the spinach portions. You can watch that as with falling data will be shading the tomato slices. Now, I'll start off with a dark dawns actually. Now I'm just, I'll cleaning it with Madonna. Later I started feeding with the dark dawn. I usually prefer this method or dark dawn dandy made and then the light which is comfortable for you, you can go in that order. If even if I follow this particular order at final stage, I have to give the dark tones again so that a, b, a two step process in this, you have to giving a layer for dark grid. I'm using a normal bright red. Then that'll be using pinkish red and adn shaded red. Everything. I'm not sure about the exact names of the color pencils. I just see the dawn. Explain it to you. A tomato largest Look in a plane red. It will have orange, red and pink sheet and associates two. So here and then go a little bit of pink, brown, orange, or whatever is required. All these are just four day the matter shared. Coming to contrast and highlights. You have to give a darker shade and leadership as usual. So the highlights will usually be white or yellow, and the dark shades will be brown or black. So depending upon the image and place the object is located, you have to shade accordingly. So you can see I am shading now with an orange color. Followed by that I'm using a partly pink red. So combine all the sheets and blended together. Only by layering. You can achieve that. Now I'm using a dot caret. And then the dark brown. To define all the edges. I'll use a black color. Toward define the shape of the tomato. No need to worry because the below portion that is in between the crema tomato, that'll be mushroom. So we're all in the in-between gaps and it'll be dark only. So you can use black or dark brown Chief of that mix and use all the colors and tried to bring a colorful drying. Finally, for the highlights, you have to use the YT. Now again for this lies use the same technique and the same process. You will start different reds, oranges, and also browns for the high contrast and White for the highlights. 8. Base Layer: Cream & Patty: Following that, let's give the base shading for the cream and body. Depending upon the sheets you have to give democracy directly or mixing it with two order. So here, there is a lot of dark shade in green. So I am giving the directly instead of mixing it with water, late edition blended with thwarted. Now for the rest of the ocean to make it light and mixing it with water. I am using the same color that they used initially. These are the dose sheets that I used for this. I'm using the brown color. Once giving the Moncler directly. You can now blend with water and some white space. Here. There's a little bit of darkness on one side of the body. So for that, I am using black color. Yes. 9. Depth in Cream & Patty: So to give in-depth shading for the baddie, I'll be using dark and the light browns. Also, pumpkin orange. These are all the colors that I'll be using tried to blend or the mako shade and the rest of the portions with the color pencils combine now very radius sheets together. There's no particular order in shading all these colors. This user leave AW, think this colors required. See that evidence throughout the brasses. Pick whatever color that you think it is required for that particular apart, and use it accordingly. This is how you have to process it. There's no a sequential order or something that you have to give it. Moving on to the green, the mamba, the cream should have a juicy texture, also ensured you flip the color of the creep. So remember to shade all limiters that you can see from the reference. I'll show you it in a slow process. I can see an olive green in the reference image. So I use that as a doctor. Then I use cream and yes, clean color for the MIT and delight dawns laid over the highlight. You can use white. So wherever you see a dark shade, give the oil olive green. So now blend olive green with a clean sheet. This light cream is also, has a shared of olive green. Another color that I'm using has a PR shade of green color. So this part is almost done for the rest of the dream, the same procedure for lawyers. So you can watch that as well. I use the same tree colors that a job for that, but so the colors green and then a cream that has light shade of Euler. Another Googler that is purely of cream color. Then finally, White for the highlights. Now to draw the mushrooms, use the same colors that you use for Burger. And the baddie. Sketch it first and then shade the mushrooms. I have started off with dot, dot. This will be the darkest value that I'll be using for the mushroom. Use all as a radius shades that you can see when you look at defense image. And then finally you have to blend them with lighter sheet. And then finally fill in all the space between the domain DOT and the mushrooms. Pretty dark color. 10. Depth: In this next has I'm going to show you how to give the depth 2D all these veggies. Haha. You have given the black shield surrounding that. Now, near the black shade, you have to enhance the depth. So for that use, Docker dawns black, dark brown and black on the edges of the mushrooms and tomatoes. If you know, doing this particular step, it might look very flat. So tried to mix the background black color with the mushroom. Not only the mushrooms, we're going to do it for a little Mattos Asquith. Our aim is actually to make the mushrooms pop-out. No, see I completed that one particular mushroom and it looks little popped out. So that's what we have to do it for the rest of the mushrooms S1 menu gifted depth surrounding the object, it looks real. So this is the key point for realism. Let me do the same thing for the rest of the portions as well. You can use any dark brown or black colour. But make sure when you mix with the black on the edges, it should also have the same dark dawn. Just enhance the dark dots on the edges alone. Now we can do the same for the tomatoes. I'm taking a color that goes very windy, read as well as the doctrine. So first I started out with a reddish brown, then we can go with a dark brown and black. Now you can see the difference. So similarly, do for the rest of the portions as well. Here is a little bit of green potion. We should also do that. I'm not using many colors dead, keeping it very mild. And here in damages, modelling of the colors. And a1 cured it needs a little bit of depth. So I'm adding it. 11. Adding a magical touch: So in this next lesson, I am going to show you how to add a beautiful magical touch. It's nothing but enhancing your drawing a little bit MOOC. To make the toppings look very bright. I'm using acrylic white, pink swash plate lately wherever you need the toppings. Now to give a little bit of depth to those, I'm adding a small line of Brown surrounding it. Use other Brown's assessment do not stick with the same color. So like this, just finished all lit up things. It's just nothing but the CCM seats. So I'm doing all the steps to enhance it a little more. So this is how you give depth and realism. The key points is the darkness and the highlights. So I finished the dark dawns. I have also collected the highlights. Berger, I'm sharing with the brown tones. And so they seize him seats doesn't appeal to white color. It also has a sandal, lot of brown dawned in it. So a bit of a Daoshi. Following that, I saw the reference image has a white highlight on the top of debugger. So for that, I gave a glass white marking pensive, but it would do very well with the white paint. So I am applying a bit of white paint and I'm going to mix it with the rest of the portion. This these are all the things that I'm doing to give the rounded the bulged look. Now let's do the same process for the bottom has with falling that I'm using markers do give a finishing touch to the spinach. That's not a very big process. I just smooth it out with the markers with the same don't. Then for the highlights and the tomatoes, I'm using the same white paint. Guilty whites, according to your satisfaction, if you feel it is more, just produce it by adding color pencils on top of it, or even markers, which he wrote sticks to the paper and vitriol, does you better result? Use that. It's not like that. You have to use the same materials that I use. You can use any materials that you have. Do you have to experience it and make it to try Loretta process? Next we shall do the same for the cleanses with for the cream, you need a lot of whites in it. Only then you will get a creamy finish to it. After adding the whites, don't forget to blended with the rest of the colors. For that, I am using this one little brush. 12. Final touches: So from the previous class, I think you understood the meaningful depth and realism and also the difference how it made through all those little, little things that we did. Now it's time to just give a little bit of finishing touches wherever you feel it needs. Zubaida vote. I think it needs a depth and smoothening effect and is doing it. Okay. This last process completely depends on your satisfaction. If you feel that why it has to be bored, depth has to be. You can do that. As I've already told you, I will be giving the finishing touches with the markers. I feel the mockers della polish it looked at the drawings. So I am giving that on the edges. Detect this mode. You saw me doing it for the spinach are spill. Now I'm doing it for the vegetables. Tried to use the same color. If you don't have that particular color, don't go for it. I had the same round two I'm using it. And then I'm also got a light brown with me, so I'm using that too. Thanks, Rachel, enhanced if I am using the combination of markers and color pencils. Here we go. I'm not using any other, I'm just using the same colors that we used for the base layers for the bad. Black brown sandal must take what? You used it before they use the same don'ts. I'm trying to use all the white because white gel pen goes right look. And it is also very pointed, so I'm not able to use it for the white area. So wherever I need the whites more and using white paint, so whichever it is soothing new, you can use that. Now again, the same process for the rest of the patty. So you can see the difference before we enhanced it. And now no wiring highlights to it. Always when you finish a particular push and do not forget to check the darkness and lightness. That is what matters in a dry. If you're satisfied with the darkness and lightness, it will really give you the realistic effect. Now for the final touch, I'm adding a shadow to it. Actually began this process thinking of giving the shadow to it. But then I don't, it will little base for the burger. And although I wasn't satisfied this color, so I use moccasins. So that's it for our class. I hope you learned a lot of new things in this class, also learned how to use mixed media, along with colored pencils as the main thing. So thanks for watching this class. 13. Final Thoughts: So that's it guys. We are done with our burger drying.
