About This Class

In this introductory puppetry class you’ll learn how to make your very own paper puppet from start to finish. There are many forms of puppetry that span history and cultures. The more well-known forms include marionettes (or puppets controlled by strings) hand and rod puppets, hand and finger puppets and the list goes on and on.

In this EASY, FUN, and FAST class I will teach you how to a simple paper puppet that you can bring your own style and character to. We will basically be making a paper doll with joints make of tape and / or zip ties. Essentially, I teach you how to make a paper doll!. This is the first skill that will help to introduce you to an extended array of skills and techniques that are a bit more complex and involved.

I’ve created this course to share something that I love and am passionate about, PUPPETRY ARTS. This introduction will help you to open the door and begin an adventure that you can share with friends, family, and students of all ages. Oh, and by the way, the puppetry arts are not just for kids! There is a growing movement of talented, smart, and sophisticated artists who are using this form to create performances of all kinds.

This is my first Skillshare class and it’s meant to provide you with the first building block or an art form that I believe you will enjoy and can share.

A special surprise awaits you end of the class!

The first person to complete the class and project by April 7 will receive either a mini poster that I have designed or an small / unique drawing or painting.  Your gift will be sent to you within 2 weeks of completion!
