1. 1 Intro: you guys. Welcome to my darlings class. My name is Eva and I am the creator behind my darlings. Our class project today is going to be an intermediate level where you will be drawing my girl art in your style. You'll need an iPad pro apple pencil and procreate application In the class we will go over free brushes and my blending technique. The nose, the lips, the eyes, the eyebrows, the face, the body, the top, the hair and last steps and finishing touches. To get started, we will be discussing free brushes and my blending technique. But before we do that, let's set or canvas size and time lapse quality. Hey, you guys. So today we are gonna be drawing one of my little characters. You're gonna hit the plus sign for a new canvas. There it is, the plus sign, and you're going to set your setting 6500 by 6500 pixels at 300 resolution. Use the size mention for printing on products fits almost everything. If this is just practice and you want more than eight layers to play with, lower the size dimensions or pick a pre install procreate template campus to start maximum layers gives me eight. We're gonna go over time lapse. It's gonna be 10 80 in studio quality. If you want to have a good quality time lapse for future projects, make sure to always said it to studio quality, good or lossless Best. When setting up your initial canvass, note that you cannot change the settings after to improve the quality of the time lapse check. Got that? Okay, Now we're gonna create a canvas. The two brushes that I'm giving you are the my favorite. Um, drawing brush, repent and the butter soft blender. Free brushes. They will be in the resource area, I believe, is what it's called. And I will make sure to have those available. Make sure you get those for this class because he will be blending a lot. Okay, let's clear this. We're gonna start off with our brush, are drawing brush, and we're gonna but that size up high and the resolution high, and we're just gonna play with it, So just have fun with it. Practice, play, See what it does. Lower the size. It goes from thick to thin. That's the opacity. You can play with the opacity, and you could see how the color is lighter. You can change the size on the top, right? And just play with it. Get a feel for what it feels like. Now let's blend. Let's blend. So the great thing about procreate is you just have to bring the image closer to you. I'm working on a size 10 inch tablet. I believe it is an older generation of the iPad pro, and I'm just taking the blending tool and just play with the blending. See what it does. Get used to the feel. Play with the size, the opacity in just practice. Get a feel for it. It's one of my favorite tools to use in creating. Okay, let's clear this page out. Now. We are starting with a blank canvas, and we're going to start by learning how to blend. So let's blend at the highest size and highest opacity. I want you to make a line a circle and a square, and then go over to your blending brush and you want to bring the size down to about 15%. And I want you to bring that opacity all the way up, and I want you to blend only one side of that line, making a nice, soft, smooth edge period of that's looking really nice. Perfect. Now go over to your circle, and I want you to do the same thing. I want you to just blend not all the way on the outside of the black. You're starting on the inside of the circle and you're blending all the way on the inside of the circle and you'll notice that wherever I'm blending, it's taking that color and bringing it, and that looks really good. That's gonna be the start of your nose. We're gonna move on to the box, and I just want you to fill in that box the same way you did the circle. If you're going out of the lines too much, that's okay. We are always gonna fix it later, but it should resemble something like this. So if you're doing something like this and that's what your picture shows after blending, you're doing great, and you're gonna be perfect in this class. And now I want you to take your brush tool, and I want you to lower the size and go to your blending tool and lower the size in. Start blending away as well. Make a circle and start blending that circle. It's now with the thinner line. It's a little bit harder to blend because you have more area to cover, but your brush size is now smaller as well. So there you go, blend away. It's still looking similar to our other ah, circle that we did, still having that same effect. Great. And now we're going to do the same thing and we are going, Teoh, lower the size of the pen, and I just want you to practice with different sizes and now go to your blending tool and blend away. I have the set on a lower size for both the pen and for the blender, and you'll see that it does take longer to blend because you're working twice as hard. You have a smaller brush in your hand now, so go ahead. Practice with different sizes. Practice with the opacity in the size and blend. Since this was a thinner, lying circle, I have to raise the blender size up so I could blend the middle a little bit faster. And now you'll notice on the small line that I make. It does have the same effect as the bigger line. It's just smaller, and that's it for blending. Today you'll notice that everything pretty much is the same. No matter what size that I need it, it has the same effect. Go to the next lesson so you can get started on her nose 3. 3 the nose: So you've come this far, and now we are going to get to her nose and you're gonna go to your drawing brush, and you're just gonna lower the size a little bit And bring that opacity all the way up. And now you are just going to, uh, start with the nose because I like to start with the nose. So we start on a new layer and the knows how I do my nose is is consists of three circles. So in order to copy that circle I swept to the left, I duplicated. I grab it with my, uh, selection tool, and they make sure that it's on free transform, and I move it over. Then I'm able to zoom in. I can duplicate one more. You need three. Yeah. Three said, make that knows I'm gonna duplicate that one. I'm gonna bring it to the middle, and I am going to make it larger. So you have three circles and one you just grabbed and you made it a little bit larger. Now I like to take those three circles and lend those together emerged lives together. And now we're going to grab the selection tool and that becomes one unit because there emerged together. Now we're gonna go to our blender, and this is where the blending begins. We're gonna take our blender and we're going to go around in a nice circle from the inside out and we're gonna blend. We're gonna start to make that shape of the nose. We're gonna blend the sides. There you go. And it's such a nice brush. It's so soft and easy on my hands and just keep blending. So I've been a court reporter for many years, and I decided to do art Now that we've been in this pandemic and really focus on that, so you're just still with the blending tool you can play with the size and the opacity. If it's too strong for you, lower the opacity. That looks like a good nose. I gave it a thumbs up. We're gonna add a new layer, which is what I just did, and we're gonna add some nostrils. And the reason I like to work on two different layers is because when you work on two different layers, you're able Teoh work on the one layer without affecting the other one. So the rest of the nose. The base of the nose is not gonna be interrupted. And I'm only adding more of this black shading for the nostrils and then just keep adding that shading until you're happy with it. And so far I'm pretty happy with it. Now, I will take those two, and I will merge those together by just pinching them with my two fingers. And I go back to my blending tool. Now I can go in and redefined those nostrils a little bit all lower the opacity because I don't want the whole nostril to disappear. And I lowered the size a little, but I think and just form that nostril, we're going to go in and raise the sides and just bring that national up. Nice soft strokes. Bring it up. There you go. Look how easy this is, right. I'm not giving you guys anything too complicated. I raised the capacity a little bit. That's also kind of like the strength of the color and how strong it, ah, impacts the blending. So when you're playing with your blending tool, definitely change the opacity and change the size and play with it. I'm gonna go and have a new layer. And I'm just gonna add some work dark over here on the sides and once again, the reason that I add that extra layers because I don't want to mess up the base of the nose because this blender is gonna blend everything away. If I put everything on one layer. I really like using this blender, though it makes it very easy to work. And I'm happy with that. So let's merge those together. Awesome. This comes as a personal suggestion. It's a no No. One thing you don't want to do is you don't want to move your iPad. There's no no need to do that. It's not necessary. I work on it. 10 inch iPad. I believe it is. And you have to make this iPad work for you. And you do that by moving your image around the screen and not go chasing after the image. So now I'm just gonna lower that, Um, I believe, like to put this on another layer and just a thin line with your drawing brush and take your blending and make sure it's a small enough size. Otherwise it will blend that whole line away. That's for a little bit of definition off the nose. And now I just kind of like toe work it up a little bit and just get till where you're happy with the nose. And in the end is when we do our final touches. But as you can see, it's very light the touch. So be careful. If you need to lower the opacity toe, work with it, go for it. You have to find what is right for you. This is my technique for working. I'm happy right now, So I am good with this nose. I'm just gonna have a little bit of shading by pulling a little bit from underneath and bringing it over. Pull it up and bring it over. And that gives you a nice shadow under the nose. Very subtle. And that's looking pretty good for a nose. Like to clean it up a little bit. Take your time. If you want to pause the video and you are enjoying blending, go for it takes some time and really get in there. Zoom in so you can see where you're doing and really work that blending tool. It's got such a nice touch on it. I just love it. It's one of my favorites. It's almost like what? Working with the chalk pastels, which I did years ago. I really loved the feel of chalk pastels, but I hated getting them all over my fingers. That was always a nightmare. Plus, you're breathing it in, and it's not healthy for you. Okay, There you go. I'm happy Pretty happy with that nose. Now we're gonna add another layer, and we're gonna add that little do dad that goes under your nose. So we're just gonna do kind of like 1/2 circle and then we're gonna take our blending brush and start to blend. Make sure it's small enough. I'm gonna take my brush again and add more ink and blend. I just do this a few times until I'm happy with it. I'll go back in again and let's lower that opacity because I keep blending everything away , and that's really counterproductive. So what? I wanted you here, so I lowered the opacity and you're able to see a little bit more now. It's kind of a little bit off balance, so we're grab my selection tool, and then I'm able to move it and get that center. And now I'm happy with those two. Well, actually, you know what? Let's duplicate that. I think I like that better. It's a little bit darker. Let's duplicate that and will emerge that together. And now it's one unit and that's our nose. Lips were coming up next, so stay tuned for lips. 4. 4 the lips: and now it's time to get started on those lips. So let's get started. So we did our nose and we did our little do dad under the nose. And now we're gonna work on the lips. So we added a new layer, and now we're gonna start kind of in the middle of the lip. That's how I like to start. This is gonna be on the new layer. My size is not full. It might be about 20%. I would guess from looking at it here. And I work on the middle of the lip first, and I kind of go with the shape of the nose. So I do a little curvy lion that goes up just like the middle of the nose. And now I'm grabbing it with the transform tool because I realized I didn't have it exactly underneath, so I just relocated it. You can do the same if you have Teoh and then I add a little bit on the sides and that's gonna be our middle It This is the underneath part and for the top, we're going to do the same. Just follow that shape and it's very flexible. So You just need a rough sketch at a little bit more for the middle, and we're good. Now we go to our blending tool. I don't have it at the forced opacity. Kind of right, right there is good and and it's not at the fullest size. It's kind of What is that? Maybe 20% I would say. And I'm just blending that dark color under the lip. And since it's not at the fullest opacity and the size of the blending tool is small, relatively small, you're able to not blend away the whole thing. Just very light touch. I'm not straining my hand here, and there you go. And this is gonna be the start of your lip and just blend away until you're happy with it. Take that lip a little bit up from the middle line. Nice and soft doesn't need a lot of pressure. I'm gonna add a little bit of size so I could blend more on top. It covers a bigger area, and I like that lip thumbs up. I'm gonna move it a little bit by grabbing my selection tool and just moving in with my fingers until I'm happy with the location and that looks pretty good. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that looks pretty good. So since I'm happy with it now, I merge those together. I just pinch with my fingers. That becomes one unit. Now we're adding a new layer. And the reason that we add the new layer once again is so that we don't mess up. We already did. We just want to add to what we made. So you see how I'm adding and I'm blending and it's not messing up with the shape that we just made. It's just redefining it. You can do this as many times as you want out a new layer. Add more, I think blend. Just keep doing it until you feel like you've done enough and you're happy with the results . That's what I do. Procreate. You have to make work for you. Just keep blending away. You don't need that much of a line on the sides. You just need a little bit of a shadow. And later on we will paint her in and she will come out really pretty check pretty happy with those lips. So we're going to combine those and now that becomes one unit. She looks great so far, but now we are going to learn the eyes, and we're gonna add some ice to her and make her really cute. 5. 5 the eyes: And now let's get started on her eyes. Time for those eyes. Okay, so now that we've done the nose and the lips, they should be merged together as one unit. And how do we add the eyes? We must forget down. And the reason that we're shrinking it down is so that you can add more to the page. It's very important that you should get down. Otherwise, where you gonna put the the face in the hair? Always remember two fingers to go back. You can hold it down and it will go back really quickly. Only goes back a certain amount of steps. Okay, Now we are honor, nose and her mouth, and we zoomed in a little bit, but now we have plenty of room to work on our eyes. Once again, your eyes were going to start on a new layer. I kind of like to angle it a little bit. And I, um, just get a feel for where I think the I is. You can use a reference if you like one of the pictures or the picture that we actually worked on in the class or that you're working on now and the way that I like to shape my eye and remember this on a new layer and always move with only your fingers. You do not need to move your tablet at all. It's gonna save you a lot of headache. And I apparently don't know what I'm doing because I'm my eyes all screwed up. Okay, let's bring that down a little bit. I kind of make them look a little bit like a women. That's the way that I draw my initial shape for the I. And it's not so fancy. It's not so perfect. It's just a rough outline. Uh, and it looks like I probably have my pen, maybe at about 30% and my capacity all the way up. And guess I'm happy with that. I gave it a thumbs up. Now I go over to my blending tool. I'm gonna move the size down a little bit, and I'm just gonna blend just like we did our box in our circle. Just the inside of that line, and I will blend that away as well, too, trying not to get rid of the whole shape. And if you make some of the shape go away. It's OK. You can just add another layer, add some more ink, and then merge those two together. And you're doing that just so you don't disrupt the original part that you made. So I didn't do that here. I'm pretty happy with this. But if you want to add more layers and had more death depth to it can you would say that word. That's great. I'm just adding on top of the same layer. And I'm going very soft on the blending tool, not no pressure involved. I really like this tool. Because, like I told you, I was a reporter for many years and my hands get tired quickly. So the reason I like this tool is it's so soft to the touch. I gave it a thumbs up work. Good. Now what we're gonna do is we're gonna add another layer. Actually, I had those all on one layer, so Okay, it should have been on another layer of thy. But if you have it all in one layer, there's always a work way to work around it. I have it on one layer. I forgot to add a second layer, but this part we are going to keep on a sec. Separate layer. Right now, it's all one unit But the island. We are gonna keep on a separate layer because, like I said before, we don't want to disturb the rest of the unit. I kind of try to follow the shape of the I of that top lid and I just go around and I exaggerate. And I come to the corner and they match that up, and we're gonna go and do the bottom lid now. And that looks pretty good. Pretty happy with that. I gave it a thumbs up. Now we're gonna take our lending tool, and we're just gonna lower the size a little bit because we don't want to blend this line away. But remember, we're not gonna take that inside layer or have any damage to it Or have any kind of, um, reaction with our blending tool because that's on a separate layer. So we're just gonna blend a little bit very softly just to get a shape. Look how nicely that's coming along. The final touch ups are at the end of the class, and that's when we will paint her in. So I don't know how happy I am with that outer shape. And that's the only that piece. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna grab it and I'm gonna hit the work tool. And I like toe work things. I do this for the lips. I do it for the nose. I do it for the shape of the face. Sometimes I do it for the hair and I think I like that shape better. What do you think? I think I like that better. I'm gonna keep it. I worked it a little bit and I think I'm happier with that shape. And now what I'm gonna dio is I'm gonna merge those together because I like that shape of that whole I. But since I emerged everything together, the way to go grab it is you wanna hit the selection tool and then make sure it's on free hand and that lets you select different shapes now that it's selected Scary. I'm trying to show you a trick of how to cop copied to a copy and paste of it where you select it. And you, ah, swiped down with three fingers. But it's really difficult. Sometimes it doesn't work, but the as you'll notice there's a button on the bottoms that says copy and paste. Hit that. Now you have two of them. Well, one is one unit, and the other one is attached to the nose in the mouth. So we're gonna take that I and we're gonna hit horizontal. And now I'm gonna move that I over now you're gonna have to eyes, and I kind of just try to match it up with knows. Yeah, same distance. And since I'm happy with that all merged those together, and now that becomes one unit. Okay, so now we're gonna zoom in on that. I Well, im just relocating it a little bit. We're gonna zoom in on that, I and we're gonna out another layer. We're gonna add the eyeball, and this is the way I do my eyes. You guys, if you have a preferred method for your shape of your eyes, that's great Looks okay, so we're gonna add the eyeball, and this is gonna be on a new layer, and we're just gonna add these little guys around with the eyeball, and we're gonna now we're just gonna blend a little bit. Just like we've been doing. So see how how Ah little my brushes in my capacity is still not at the full of strength. Looks pretty good. So now I am going to duplicate that layer, and I'm gonna grab it, and I'm gonna flip it horizontally so it matches up on the other side and, um, a little bit hard to tell. I might have to zoom in. Let's see what I do here. I can't remember what I did. I'm narrating after. Okay, so I'm I'm zooming in, and I do remember zooming in, and I just want to see exactly where I should put it. Okay, that looks like it matches better. It's pretty close to the other one. I'm happy with that. And now I'm gonna merge everything together. That becomes one unit now and then it's time to work on our eyeballs, so I'm gonna add a new layer. And the way I like to do my eyeballs is I like to go around and do a full circle all the way around, even on up top. I want to complete that circle because I wanted to be, um, a nice circle, and it helps to be able to see the other half for me at least. If you're comfortable only drawing half of it. You don't have toe complete it all the way around. That just gets deleted. Later. I'm gonna eat the eraser button, and I have it set on my blender. Same Told that you've been blending with for the racer. I'm gonna go back to my blending and I'm just gonna go around once again, not moving the iPad just with my fingers moving with a moving the actual artwork that I'm looking on and very softly blend that around. It's not at the highest size, as you can see, and it's not the highest capacity. So very little on the size and early be it is at the highest. I can't tell if it's a biased opacity. I don't think it is, but it's hard to tell from here. Okay, you'll have to play around with the the settings for your best effects and just blend around and work on that. I shaped that you are gonna be happy with, because we will be duplicating this for the other part of the eye. And we want to make sure that we're happy with the shape. So just try to make it in the in the middle. I move everything around, and I, uh, just work around it by moving it with my fingers. I'm happy with that. I'm gonna duplicate it. I'm going to grab it. It should be on, um, uniform, I believe, cause I keep it the same without messing it up and just grab it, move it to the top of the lid in the middle and try toe match that up. So it's uneven shape. I think that's pretty good. Yeah, that looks good. Now, what I'm gonna do is I'm only gonna merge those two together. So the everything else is one unit, and that's by itself. I want to duplicate that. I want to grab it. I want to hit horizontal, and I want to bring it over. And the reason I had horizontal is because I want them to be exactly the same, but opposite. So I'm happy with that. Good. Now I'm gonna merge everything together, and that is the start of our face. In the next lesson, we are going. Teoh, do eyebrow, so tune in for eyebrows coming up next 6. 6 the eyebrows: Now it's time for her eyebrow. So let's get started on her eyebrows. Everything should be one unit, and we're gonna shrink it, and we're shrinking it so we can fit more on the page because she needs some eyebrows. She looks kind of funny like that. So, um, let's make her cute. Let's frame her eyes with some browse, and I'm just being anal and sticking it in the middle of the page. Okay? Now we have plenty of room for some eyebrows. Oh, here I go again. Okay. There. I think that's good. Okay. Can we get started? Eva here? I'm talking myself. All right, so I'm gonna grab the brush. It's not at the biggest size, and it's not the smallest size kind of looks like maybe 40% size and okay, Yeah, you're supposed to add a layer. So now you should have two layers. I added one before, and I was just edit that out, But I didn't. And we're just gonna frame Kurt I and then we're gonna go to the other side and the eyebrows. I kind of like to do a little bit differently each time. And that's why I draw them both, and I'm happy with that shape. So I am going to just start blending. And since eyebrows are on a separate layer, we are not gonna mess up the I. So that's important. That's why we always keep things on separate layers. And there's other reasons for keeping him on a separate layer. But we haven't even gotten there, and I'm not sure if I'll get there today. Um, yeah, I probably will get there today. Just blend away very lightly and we're not at the highest opacity, and we're just trying to bring that down to the site of the nose. And we're not gonna mess up the nose because eyebrows are on a separate layer. And that's the beauty of Blair's in how I use layers. Okay, sorry about that interruption. And now I'm happy with that. I'm gonna merge those together, and now that's all one unit. And now I'm able to blend that whole section because that becomes one unit since we merged it together. And it all blends together very nicely, very softly. Not a hard touch. The opacity isn't all the way up. And now you can take the other side. You can either blend it up for another line. I'm actually trying something new on some of my drawings where I only add definition on one side. But in this drawing, I think it added a little bit on both, but very subtly. And just blend that eyebrow. Try not to blend it all away. Like I was starting to dio and good. And I shade and just blend until you're happy with the shape in the shading that you're doing. And you can zoom in and then zoom out again. So you get a good view. And now I'm just shaping the nose and this is all with the blender. Oops, I forgot. They're all attached. So I had to go back one step. I'm happy with that. Okay. Next comes the face shaping the face next. 7. 7 the face: and now it's time to start the face. So we're going to start with a new layer. As you'll see the other layer should all be on one with just the face and on the new layer . What you're gonna dio we'll make sure that area has shrunk down enough that you have enough room toe shaped the face. If you have to shrink it than shrink it, you're just gonna go on the new layer and you're just gonna frame the face with a shape that you like. And, uh, we've all looked in the mirror before. We haven't know what a shape of a faces, and I kind of make them a little bit poofy because I like that round shape. But you go with a shape that you feel comfortable and follow it through. You're gonna shape the whole face, including the forehead, and just go around and turn it around. And how is that? It's OK. It's a little bit. Could be better, so I'll just keep working on it a little bit more and keep working on it. Just shape it around. I'm gonna do leave a little bit there. Think I added a little bit too much and then I'll just use your blending tool and blended around nice and easy, just like we did the small circles. This a little bit bigger. Just blend it around. You can have some, uh, shadow there. Later, we will touch it up at the end on keep blending and look at my She's coming along. I'm really excited to see what you guys create with this method. You might have to do this class a couple of times, but I plan on attempting to do ah, one class a week with a new character from start to finish just like this, you'll eventually catch on and go around. Zoom in, zoom out kit. Used to working like this. Look at it from different angles and you'll see that I'm not even moving the iPad. I'm only working with my one hand very comfortably, sitting on the couch working. I'm just trying to make it a nice shape. A usually takes me about an hour to an hour and 1/2 to make up a character. Okay, great. I'm happy with this shape and now we are going to move on to the body. In the next lesson, we will do the body 8. 8 the body: So now it is time to make the body. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna select our head, and we are just gonna move it around, find a good, uh, area for it on the page. That's our whole page, and we're going to select it, and then we're gonna take our little clean dot on top and we're gonna angle it to the side . She's gonna be a little bit diagonal to the left. And I added a new layer here. So you go go ahead and do that and we're gonna on that new layer. It's gonna be the neck. So we're going to start drawing the neck and we're gonna slant it to the left. And this is just gonna be a rough sketch of the body. Lately, I've been doing the arms kind of hi shoulders and just play with your shape. You can use a reference if you want. I just kind of go with what's in my head, and I never know how they're gonna turnout until they're done. So I'm just gonna work on a shape around, and it's gonna be a very loose sketch of a body, and it's pretty loose. Probably not the best body, but we're going to go with it. Ah, I kind of feel like a little bit big. So what I did was I selected it. And it is on uniform and uniform means that when you, uh, try to resize it, it is going to stay the same shape. It's not gonna move shapes, but if you are on free form, you can get skinnier, whiter, shorter, longer. So that's you, uh, freeform. It's free, and it kind of lets you do a little bit more. So I'm kind of gonna give her a little bit skinnier shape, because I like the big head with skinny bodies and let's see. Okay, now what I'm gonna dio is I'm gonna just a race a little bit of that neck because I felt like it was too long, and now the bodies, okay, but I could think it could do better. So I'm gonna lower the opacity on the body, just the body, just enough where I can see it. And I'm gonna add a new layer. I'm gonna draw on top of that body, and I'm gonna try to make a better shaped body off of the one that I already have below that. And I'm just gonna work it around and see if I come up with it better shape. Still trying to keep it simple for you guys. And I feel like on the right side, it's Ah. So why And then on the left side, it's a backwards. Why? For the arms And yeah, I'm making that a little bit better. So I'm gonna delete the outline of the original body, and I'm gonna work off of the new lining that we just did. I'm gonna add the new layer, and now we're gonna shape her girlie parts. So we're gonna shape the girls. You and I like to do this on a new layer, just kind of shape it. And it kind of goes a little bit over the arm here. Now you go back to the body and you can kind of blend that fried piece away blend on the other side, side piece away, and I I'm happy with that. So I'm going to merge those two together, and that's all on one layer now and now I can blend and really shape the body. I kind of look at it like it's ah, Barbie doll, Uh, where you can address it. And after we have just the base of the body in the generic shape that we want, then we can add close a little bit more easily, at least for me. This is what works. And remember, folks, I'm not an artist by trade. I've been a court reporter since 1999 but I've been using procreate for about, uh, six months to a year. I would say the last six months is when I really figured out how appropriate works by learning through skill. Share some really nice stuff. So here I am, teaching you and we're doing the same thing that we've been doing is just shaping the body and giving her a nice sheep. And we'll do the same thing on the other side. Just bring it in a little bit, and now will you will blend away. And just to find that a little bit kind of just go around the body on the other side. And I'm just gonna bring her arms in a little bit because I think I've decided what I want to do for the clothes. So I am gonna bring Harms in a little bit. I'm just gonna go around until I'm happy with that shape and just blend. Take her time, feel free to pause the video and blend away. And I'm just feeling like it was too big there. So I'm gonna add a little bit more, and I'm just doing this right on top. You could add a different layer and just do it on that separate layer so that you don't mess up your body. But I added on top I was being brave. So it's up to you at this point. I think you'll know what you're comfortable with. I know I'm blending again, and I'm just going around and it doesn't have to be perfect because we will be adding final touches in the end. But she's looking pretty good. I'm liking that. Okay, Next, we're gonna add a top, so stay tuned for the next lesson. 9. 9 the top: So now it's time that we add a top and let's do that. Now head is tilted and she has her body on a separate layer and now all of her features on a separate layer. And we're gonna add one more layer, so you should have three later layers total. And we are just going to start with our brush and you guys can go wild here. If you want to do a different top, go for it. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, and I think I'm gonna just shape her girls. And I kind of like those tops that have the, uh, shoulders exposed. I really think those air pretty and feminine. So that's what I want to do here. And right now I'm just shading in a little bit, um, the outline to get that shape of the shirt in, just shading her in. So, you know, I go wild. Whatever kind of top you want to make, just use the same method as long as you're not making the top on the same layer that the body is. That's the only thing I suggest. Have them all in separate layers. So now I'm able to add those little shoulder circles that I like. I love those shirts. I go shopping with my friend. I always get those little open shoulder shirts. Okay, so now I'm gonna add another layer because I'm pretty happy with the shape, and I just want to draw on top of it without messing it up. And this is what I'm also gonna add some shadow to her Necas well, and try to redefine that. And this is sometimes a little bit hard to draw. I've realized when I'm videoing myself, not as Freas helps. So look at me. Here I go a few times just trying to get a shape, and it's looking pretty good. So now I'm gonna blend, and you guys can feel free to use whichever, um, brush you prefer to draw with. But I do suggest using this as a blender, but you might have ah, different brush that you prefer, which is totally fine and just blend away, get some detail in there, blend some more. That's all I do is, I think, and I Blend Inc Went Inc blend and always on a separate layer as much as possible. Sometimes I forget to put them on separate layers or get lazy, and then it's a little bit extra work. So when you keep them on separate layers, you're able to blend more. And then when you combine them, then you can blend them as a whole. And I hope when I'm teaching you in this class is gonna be a technique that you can use for any of your drawings or your artwork is how to best utilize your layers and make them work for you. And that's the one thing about procreate is if you've never really done digital, are it? Does take a little while to get uh, used to it. It's It's a learning curve. If you're not used to photo shop or something like that, this is a definite learning curve. So here I go. Just keep lending keep redefining. And now I think I'm just gonna speed it up for you. I think you get the point of this class. It's just to get her shape of her close down, so I'm going to speed it up for you. So I'm happy with that, So I'm gonna merge the body and the close together, and then the head is on a separate layer, and I'm just gonna my selection tool and relocate the head a little bit. I'm deleting a little bit of the neck because it felt like it was a little bit too long. And just use your best judgment, uh, and cleaning her up with the racer tool. Okay, so now what we want to do is we want to move her as one unit. And how do you do that? There are two separate components, so you're gonna swipe, right? It's gonna turn blue on both of the layers and you're gonna hit the plus sign. Then you hit the new group and you have your selection tool. And now you can only size both as one unit, even though they're both still separate layers. This is very important for your artwork. If you wanna move something around the page and they're two separate layers, put them in a group and I used to have two layers within one group. Harris next, So tune in for hair 10. 10 the hair: And so now it's time that we add some hair. So let's get started on that hair. So now we're gonna have a new layer for that hair, and I just like to frame the face with a few lines shaping the hair and just go ahead and meet those lines however you want. And And I'm just shaping the face with these lines. And I'm speeding this up for you because I don't think that you need toe watch me draw a bunch of wavy lines. So I think you'll get the picture after watching this. There you go. Just some wavy lines. Give her a nice part somewhere. I kind of did it at a little bit of an angle, and I put a little piece in front, which was a little bit tricky. So maybe, uh, if you want to keep it a little bit easier, you don't have to put that piece in front. So I'm happy with that hair. And don't forget they should all be on separate layers still, and now I'm gonna go to the hair and I'm going to hit my blending brush and I'm gonna bring the size up a little bit in the opacity is not all the way up, but I'm just gonna lightly very lightly blend and don't blend it all away Don't keep capacity all the way high but pretty high Just blend all around Nice and soft Remember, this is all on a separate layer so everything's gonna be fine. You're not gonna mess up the other part. I went a little bit smaller for the piece in the front. You don't have to do the piece in the front if you don't want to. Ah, I did. And then I regretted it afterwards because it was a little bit of a pain. So keep lending. Blend that hair and just keep blending away. Try not to remove the line from the face. Just enough shadows that you're able to see where that line is in. Great. So we're done blending the hair for now in now we're going to do is since everything is on a separate layer, we can go over to the face layer. We're gonna highlight that and we're going to zoom in. And now we're gonna go to our race or tool, and we're gonna be on the face layer and we're just going to delete erase the part of the face that would be under the hair, including part of the eyebrows. And there you go all the way around. Great. And now what we're gonna do is we're gonna take that hair layer, and we're going to duplicate it, so you'll have two layers of the hair. And now we're gonna take that same layer, and we're gonna duplicate again so that you have three layers of the hair and now you have three layers of the hair. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna merge the top two layers together. The top layer is now darker than the bottom layer of the hair. And what I'm gonna do now is I'm gonna merge those two layers together. Now I'm going to duplicate the layer by swiping left and I will have two layers of hair and I'm going to take the top layer. I'm going to go to my effects tool. I'm gonna hit liquefy and you can play with the size. Keep it on push and you have your pressure all the way up. I'm going to keep my push to 79. It looks like my pressure should be all the way up. I'm not sure what my distortion is and keep the momentum all the way up and move that top layer of hair around, get a different directions, swirl it, and that gives you some cool effects when you paint it in later swirling around and keep going. I'm just speeding it up for you. Keep swirling. Bring it all the way around on the edge. You don't want to bring it to her face. Just bring it around the edge and swirl away until you're happy with that pattern. It's gonna make some sort of a pattern. Depending on your brush stroke, it will change on the pattern. So I'm pretty happy with that. And now we're gonna merge those top two hair layers together, and we're gonna add one more layer and then we're gonna take our brush tool, and we're just gonna go over our hair and redefine it. Well, you define those strokes and just give it some definition in some depth. And so I'm just drawing the hair, different shapes and at a part. And there you go, just keep adding and after you're done, adding your all of your alliance, I want you to take your blending tool. I just want you to loosely go over those lines, but you can still see, still gives it some definition and just get close to the face. But be careful there, Not the full opacity. Just blended away a little bit. Great. She's looking pretty good and the hair is coming out really nice working on the piece in the front and on the right side, Splendid away. I do clean her up during the whole process. Okay, Now, I want you to go over to your layers and I want you to click on the end. I want you to know what happens when you click on the and you get all these different effects and so just play with those. It usually works better. When you have different colors that you're working with, it changes all the of the effects that you have, what those colors, It just really significantly changes it. And so what I'm happy with is gonna be the divide. And so it makes it a little bit later. And now I just go back in with my blur tool or my blending tool and I'm gonna be on the hair layer that we just divided and I'm just gonna soften it a little bit. And now just keep softening her eso gives it a nice, smooth finish or whichever effect that you like. You don't have to do what I'm doing. Exactly. This is your art, not mine. I'm just teaching you a technique. And are you gonna take that top layer that we divided? And we're going to duplicate that? We're gonna bring the intensity of that white up, happy with that. And now we're gonna merge those two layers that we divided together and that makes it a little bit later. Everything should be on one layer right now, Justus, before and now I'm gonna have you take those bottom three layers and I'm gonna have you merge of those bottom three layers. The top layer is gonna be by itself. And that's the layer that we divided. So that will be separate. And now you're gonna be on the bottom layer and I want you to add a layer so that later will be in the middle. I'm going to read and I'm on my brush tool, and I'm just gonna paint the hair and I'm speeding this up and I'm adding a few different colors. I will just change the color slightly and keep it in the same tones and you can use whatever colors you prefer. I just happen to go with reds and oranges and yellows. But I love all colors as you'll see on my my darlings Page. And now I'm gonna duplicate that layer of the colored layer of hair. I'm going to duplicate that, and so should do you. And now you have two layers of the hair and what I want you to use Go to that bottom layer and I want you to take your blending brush and just blend away very slightly. Then just keep lending until you're happy with the blended results. There you go. It's looking pretty nice. So far Great. You guys are doing a good job, okay? And now we're going to go to our layers and we're going to go to the top layer of the hair and we're gonna liquefy that the same as we did earlier. Liquefy that hair around the page and get some cool effects going and just liquefy it. And now just keep liquefying. I'm just speeding this up for you, and it does take a little bit of practice. You might want to practice on a blank page on how to liquefy. Play with all the different settings, see what they do. I usually like the push tool. I like to keep my momentum high, and I like my pressure up. The distortion is up to you. Keep liquefying until you're happy. Okay, great. And now we're going to take that layer of hair that we were just playing with, and we're gonna bring it down a layer by just dragging it, and we're going to drag it down to the bottom. Perfect. And don't forget to fix errors along the way. I want you going to go back to your top layer, the one that's divide, and I want you to lower the opacity a little bit. It was a little bit high opacity. Let's just change that. So it's a little bit less, and this is where I want you to go over to the hair layer. That's the hair that's colorful, and this is where you can play with the human saturation. Go over to your effects and go down to hue and saturation. Find a hue and saturation that you're happy with, and here you'll just see that I'm playing with the human saturation. I'm playing with the brightness, and this is only on the hair itself, playing with the hue. Now the changes the colors. You pick a color that you like, saturated how you like and keep the brightness at the level that you're happy with. And now our next step is Go back to your layers. Choose the layer on the bottom. That's the layer that has all the colors included. Go back to your human saturation in play with Hugh until you're happy with the color and that looks pretty. I think I'm going to keep that play with the saturation. If you want a brighter or not. Now you can go back into your layers and you can merge those last three layers together. You're gonna still have the one that's divided on top. That will be separate, and you have everything merged as one on the bottom. Now go to your top layer and add another layer all way at the top. Grab a color that's similar and grab your brush tool, and now we're just gonna define our alliance. And I'm speeding this up for you. I think by now should have the hang of things where this is on a separate liar and we're just redefining our lions. And now I'm blending, so I don't affect the rest of the picture and blending. It's also on a separate layer with that new line that we're making. And whoops. There goes the eyebrow. I'm just touching up, and I want you to do the same so that the next lesson, when we actually drawing her features with color or painting or features with color, I want to be all prepared that she's looking really nice. So I'm adding where I accidentally blended away certain parts, and I think you should have the grasp of how layers work. One goes on top of the other, so make sure that you fix things, and here I am, adding that should be on another layer as well, and I'm blending away under to finding that jawline. Actually, I might have just put it right on top, but I get brave sometimes, but for you, I suggest doing everything on a separate layer. It makes it so much easier to fix. Sometimes I forget and I get Lazy Bird here I am once again redoing the definition. You might have to go in there a few times on separate layers just to define it, and that's what I end up doing. So I hope you guys have enjoyed this class. It's been really interesting for me putting it together and editing it. And here I am. I'm emerging everything together, and sometimes I move things around on my layers to see what I like better, and I'm pretty happy with that. And now I am adding the final touches with more lines and just defining. I just keep going back in there and redefining, and you should do the same. Go all the way around. Try not to move your iPad. You don't need Teoh. As you'll see, I haven't move myself one inch. It's just been sitting on my lap and I'm working on that. Here I am, blending away and keep lending those stark reliance and just get in there. Don't be afraid to get close. I didn't get too close. Just remember the closer yet, the more you're gonna have to blend, so I kind of sometimes pull the image away just so I could blend really quickly. And now you'll see what it looks like with all the different layers. And I'm pretty happy with that. I'm just gonna fix things and that I probably should have kept on the separate layer. It would have been easier to fix that piece of hair, but here I am just trained not to mess up the picture because it's all in one layer. And so I'm happy with that. And you can use your color selection tool if you want to pick a specific color. And that's that. A little square do dad. That's in between your capacity and you're brush size that will help you pick a color back to the blending, filling it in with color and cleaning it up a little bit. And now, emerging those together, I added a new layer when I deleted it. That layer added a layer in the middle, I think. Okay, this is gonna be trial and error on your part because not sure what I'm doing here. I'm adding more color to the top and just going around it, and this will definitely be on a separate layer. And here I am blending that, blending that in Great, keep lending. You could do this a few times around. You can change the colors at different colors. I like to duplicate it. I'm moving the duplicated layer all the way to the bottom, and I'm emerging those together. I had an extra layer is deleting, and now I can play with everything at once because they're all blended together. I can change the different effects on that top layer, and I'm happy with that. I believe I changed it. Toe overlay. That's what Theo is. And on the bottom layer, I can play with the hue and saturation and you'll notice it's not messing up the background of the picture. We didn't put anything on that background yet. Great. So you should have something that looks like this but in your style and tune into our next lesson where we're gonna go over our last steps and finishing touches. Stay tuned 11. 11 last steps part 1: and welcome to part one of last steps and finishing touches Gonna finish her up, We're gonna add a new layer, it's gonna be on the bottom and we're gonna add some black to her I there And then we are going to just use our shader and fill that in. Try not to go out of the edges as much as you can and just fill it in. Great. Now, dude, on the other side, Filthy other I end and I just raised the opacity and the size of the brush a little bit taking a little bit too long. Great. So we're pretty much filled in perfect. And now we're just gonna merge those two layers together the black of the eye and the hair . We're gonna add a new layer. And now we're gonna take that bottom layer. We're going to bring it up, and we're gonna have to go to the bottom layer, and we're gonna change this background to a different color. I went with a skin tone color Great. And the reason that we want the layer on the bottom to be on the bottom is because we're now at the white toothy. I and you don't have to make it completely white. It could be a little bit off white and just I'd meet a little bit greyish and go ahead, fill in the background of the I and fill that in perfect words of those two together and add a new layer on that new layer. I want you to pick a color that is similar to your page and go ahead and make it fill in that line and a lighter color under me. And now use your blender and just blend away just a little bit. There you go. And now we're on that new layer. We're gonna out a darker color to the crease of her eye without disturbing the initial eye shadow that we added. And we're just gonna blend that away. And we'll do this a few times. Or and I'm going to keep lending and you guys can do this as well. It's just adding definition. I'm going to duplicate that, and I'm gonna duplicated again. I'm gonna merge those together, and now I'm just gonna take my blending brush, and I'm just gonna kind of basically blend around the face and bring some of the color down , very go bringing it down around the site of the nose a little bit definition and going on. And you guys can just play with your blender, spread it out nice and even no, merge those together and add a new layer on that new layer. I want you to take your brush tool, and I want you to go back in there with a deeper color and really get in there and start blending. Great. That looks perfect. Keep blending, add more color and blend away. And that really gives you some definition for the eyes for the eyelid. And now you can go over and you can change the effects. And I ended up changing it toe linear early, and I was really happy with how that looked. And then I blended that together by merging it. And now we're going to do is we're going to take that new layer and we're gonna add some under eye lead, color a little bit of eyeliner underneath and just blend that away, making it nice, soft edges all the way on the bottom of the I Great, that's looking perfect. And now what? I want you to do is I want you toe change the effect of that. I ended up going with the pin light. I believe it was that I chose and I was really happy with that. So pick pin light and now merged those two layers together. Great. And now add a new layer. And on that top layer, we're gonna add more to her under I And this is so that we don't affect anything else. We're adding that new layer just as we've been doing all along. Go ahead. Take your blending tool. You might want to lower the size and blend away that little new layer that we got, but just enough so that it's still deeper, deeper and color, that is. And now you're gonna add a new layer and we're going to start working on her lips. So add some color to her lips and then blend away and try toe. Shape the lip with the color. Since it's not filled in completely with the outlines, you can duplicate that color and emerge it. You can duplicate it again, and if you want to keep it, I kept it emergent together, and now I'm just cleaning it up and I'm bringing that color from the bottom to the top. Perfect. She's looking really nice so far and just smooth around the edges with your blending tool. Great. And now you can take your layers that you can blend those together. Actually, I'm gonna bring that under the lip, and I'm gonna add a new layer. And on that new layer, I'm gonna take my color and I'm going to go a little bit deeper and I'm gonna blend, and that's gonna be on the top of the lip for some reason. The top of the lip, the way that it's constructed, it is gonna be a little bit darker, always. And that adds a little bit of a shadow because the top lip overshadows the bottom ever so slightly. And so just have fun with your colors and make the top one just a little bit darker. And now I'm just playing with the effects of it, just like I always do. And what did I end up with? So I ended up picking linear light, and you can see it made the color brighter. And now I'm just blending away a little bit. Bring some of that color down to the bottom, very little. And now you're going to go to your lips layer and you're going to duplicate it twice. And you're gonna merge those three layers together. Great. And so now what I want you to do is take that layer of bring it all the way to the top. I want you to go down back to your bottom layer and play with your hue and saturation. You can see how everything changes colors together and it's uniform. And now I'm gonna take a new layer, and I'm going to drag it to the bottom. And I'm just gonna grab a color. And that's a good color. Great. So I'm gonna paint the close in now, and I end up taking my hue and saturation and changing that color a little bit until I'm happy with the color. And now I am just going to blend that color down. I will blend away, and now I will add more color and keep out in different colors and blend more color and blend until you're happy with that. You can do it on separate layers are on the same layer. It's up to you. I'm duplicating that now to make it deeper, and I'm blending, You could see everything is still on separate layers. Now, I'm happy with that. I'm gonna merge those together. Great. Now I'm gonna add a new layer. And on that new layer, we're gonna do some final touches on her, uh, clothing and giving her some more definition on the lines of her clothing and just adding some black and blending and adding and blending. And you can do this however you like along the process. I was just trying to break it up into stages, and this is the best way I could figure out how to do that for you to make it as easy as possible. So I'm getting in there on the neck and I'm just adding also some more color on the neck and blending. And now I'm happy with that. So I'm gonna merge those last two layers together so that they will blend as one unit and just trying to make the lines similar. And now, since the hair and the body is one, we can just blend some of that down, and I'm just trying to even it out here and this is just final touches. So we'll go through the same steps of these final touches. And then they went back to my other layer. And I'm just fixing that and a lot of blending going on. And now I'm just going to get a new layer on top, and I'm going to redefine her jaw line a little bit and then blend that in and that's looking pretty good. I'm happy with that. Perfect. So we're gonna add a new layer, and on that new layer, we're gonna do the eye color. So I'm gonna do a blue and I start painting in the blue. And then I realized, Oh, I'm going to drag that layer to the bottom, Okay? And I just pain in a few different shades of blue in the lighter color blue And then I kind of blend away very subtly to make the eye color perfect. And now I take that layer and I duplicate it. And I just made the color a little bit deeper. And now I'm just playing with the human saturation till I get a color I like. And I'm gonna blend those three layers together by emerging them. And now That's one unit. And now if you take your human saturation, you can change the color of everything in one, and they should blood nicely together. Her next part of this lesson will be Part two, and this will be the final last steps and finishing touches. 12. 12 final last steps and finishing touches: and welcome to part two final last steps in finishing touches. And now you're gonna add a new layer and you're gonna bring that layer to the bottom and we're gonna add those cheeks and we want the layer on the bottom because we want it to be under the hair. So we're gonna add those cheeks and you'll still be able to see the cheek through the hair since the hair is not completely, uh, opaque. And I'm just gonna change the human capacity to a color I'm happy with, I'll read. Locate it. I'm happy with the location there. I'm going to duplicate that layer and then I'm gonna flip it horizontal, and I'm gonna move it over. I like to flip it horizontal just because it will have the same shape on those sides and I can merge those together. Now I take my eraser tool, and I can still see where that line is and where it stops. I'm just gonna a race that part of the little round cheeks and I'm happy with that. I'm gonna merge that together, and now I just like to go back to the hue and saturation. I'd like to see how the cheeks look as they change colors with the rest of the picture. And I'm pretty happy with that. They all seem to blend perfectly together. And now I'm gonna add a new layer at the top, and I want you to zoom in on the I and we're going to go to a brush that you should already have. It is gonna be under your illuminates. So scroll down and look for Lou minutes and then click on the light pen and go toe white, grab your brush tool and do you two different shapes that are similar. It can be a heart. It could be whatever you want to make it and make one bigger than the other. There I took the smaller heart and I just changed the direction a little bit. And I'm happy with that. I'm gonna merge it. I'm going to duplicate that and I'm gonna merge that layer together. It actually made a little brighter. I'm gonna duplicated again, and I'm gonna take that duplication and I'm gonna located on the other I I like to have them going the same direction. That's just how I do it. So I just try to keep them even. And that looks pretty good. I'm gonna merge those together, and now I can move those as one group or one unit because they're on the same layer. I'm happy with that. And I'm gonna merge the hearts of the eyes and the jawline together, and I'm gonna have a new layer. And on that new layer, we're going to change our brushes back to our regular drawing brush that we've been using. And we were an ad Cem eyeliner to that upper lid, the upper eyelid. Perfect. And we're gonna bring it out to add a little bit of a lash effect will do the same for the other. I great. I'm happy with that. And I'm gonna merge that to the layer underneath it, and I'm gonna add a new layer and just redefine the inside lid. Same on the other. I just redefine it in, smudge it a little bit with my blending tool, and it gives it some nice definition. Perfect. I'm gonna merge those top two layers together. Now I'm gonna add a new layer, and I'm just going to redefine over here just by adding a little bit of color black and then shading it in words, and you won't be messing up the rest of the eye. But it does give it some dimension to add some darker colors in different shades on the white of the eye. And I'm just doing the same thing here, blending it in, and it gives it a little bit of depth, as you can see. So I'm really liking this, and they all work on this for a little while. I'll merge those together. Actually, you know what? Let's duplicate that. I think I like it duplicated. So I duplicated that a little bit of shading, and I merged them together. And now I'm just blending a little bit and pretty happy with that all merged that together . I'll add a new layer. I'll change the color toe a little bit of a lighter blue, and I'll just add some shades of blue and gray bluish grade to the eyeball and merge that together. And I'm going to go back into my light pen and I'm gonna make it go on White, and I'm going to just give her some little highlights on her eyeball and right there underneath I and I'll blend a little bit, and that's just really gives it a pretty effect. And you can do the same to the lips. Give her some highlights on the lips and then blend a little bit of highlight on the lip and then blend on. This is with the light pen. Same thing for the nose. I turn the picture upside down and I like to give a nice lying on the nose, and then I just blend up very lightly and for the inside of the eyes and also the eyelid and blend. And there's different techniques for this. But this is what I end up doing. So I'm teaching you how I do my girls and what am I doing now? I go back to my regular drawing brush and I'm back on the black, and I don't know if I have a new layer, but you can have a new layer and then just merge it together. And I'm just adding more definition for the line in the middle. We're gonna go back to my highlighting tool and back toe white, and I'm going to give her a nice highlight with the white light pen. And now I'm just playing with the different things to see which layer Amman. And I'm just gonna blend some of that black away to give her a nice definition on her neck . I'm gonna blend some of that in, and I'm just blending. Okay, Great. Sometimes it's a bit of a struggle to remember what layer you're on. Then you want to try to keep on the right layer when you're working on something, So here I am. Just figure out which layer of on okay, You know, I'm back on the neck and I'm just lending that away for subtle definition and down the arm , I'll go and I'll blend. That gives it a nice highlight. I really love using the loo minutes section for blending Ah, different areas that I want to highlight. I'll use the luminous and then I will blend away, and it gives it a soft touch. As you can see, it gives it a nice soft touch, and I'm just touching up everything perfect. And now you're gonna have already added a new layer and I'm gonna go over to the water flicks which is under your water brushes. And on that new layer, I'm gonna raise the size a little bit high for the size of the brush. And I'm just gonna add those water flicks all over and you'll notice that the opacity is down. I'm gonna hit the end and I'm gonna color Dodge. And that changes the color. I'm gonna change the opacity a little bit on that and no, I'm gonna take my pen brush and I'm going to go over to the spray paints and we're going to click, splatter and we're gonna hit a new layer and we're gonna splatter the page and we're gonna splatter that page on a new layer with a purple not at the highest capacity. And now we're gonna take that layer and we're gonna hit in and make it go to add. And if you'll notice the pink hues are really pretty in there. And the reason that I like to do things this way is that you're able to go to your background, go to your background and you're able to change the colors there of the skin tone. And how perfect is that You're not actually messing up your image. You can still change the human saturation on your image. you're not messing up the pattern that you made the texture for her face of the paints bladder, and you can change the hue and saturation on the actual image. So that's a lot of fun to be able to change those futures. And now I'm speeding it up a little bit more, and he urges playing with everything. So I'm pretty much merging some things together. Anything that has the end on it, you can emerge together. But if you do have a layer that is like we did before, um, the divide or overlay or the pin light you want to be careful about what you're merging that with, because that can completely change your image, depending on if it's on top of a certain layer on the bottom of certain layer. So it's very important to pay attention to where those effects are located on the layers, but anything that is with an end. I tried to merge those together, if possible, and now I'm just going over the eyes and giving her some more definition on her eyes and a little bit for her nose, and I do try to do these on separate layers just so that I don't mess up the original image . And then I merged them together usually. And I'm just going in and just redefining. These are really just the final stages. Uh, sometimes it takes me an hour to do it. Ah, drawing. Sometimes it takes me an hour and 1/2. Sometimes I could spend three hours, four hours on one drawing, and I can get kind of crazy about it. But for this one, I try to keep it simplified, even though I know there are a lot of steps involved. But if you just follow through on my steps and my technique, you should be fine. I'm just adding more definition two under the eyes with a color. Once again try to keep everything on a new layer. And she's done. Thank you for joining me in this class.
