Project Description

Carve & print your own handmade linocut pattern.

eaf0f7fa

Start by researching linocut and and think about the themes which inspire you. You pattern can include: abstract shapes, geometric patterns, objects or figurative elements that tell a story. Or a combination of these approaches. Also think about what you want to use your pattern for. Don’t hesitate to check out our Printmaking research board on Pinterest to get started with you research.

Complete your class project by uploading the following:

  • scanned or photographed linocut & printed pattern;
  • research or inspiration (optional);
  • photograph of your printmaking process (optional);
  • previews of the pattern's applications, this could include printed product for Etsy or Society6 (optional);
  • a few words about what you want to use your pattern for, where the ideas came from and what you have learnt.
