1. Intro: Hi, everyone. Welcome to my new botanical illustration class. I am I late Asano. For those a few who don't know me, I'm also known as Regenhard Stone Instagram. And I am a graphic design student who also really enjoys calligraphy lettering, an illustration with water colors. So if you've been following me on Instagram, you'll know that I've been posting a lot of stuff like this. All of these flower illustrations. So I decided I should make a class about it. So in this class, I am going to teach you all the layers that flower should have the first layer the second layer in the third layer, which is lecture. I am also going to give you ah, free guide so you can download it and check it out. Um, buddy and of the class you will learn how to paint a flower arrangement like this one more realistic with more textures. And yeah, like that. If you've been taking my other classes, you don't know that I have ah, similar class about flowers which is this one. But in this one, what you What you learn is how to paint easy flowers for decorations and stuff like that and in this other class, these new class, I am going to teach you how to make them look more riel, more detailed and with texture. And I think that's, Ah great thing, how to paint with texture and how to make them look even more real. So that's what this class is about, and I hope you can join me. 2. Art Supplies: these are the art supplies were going to be meeting for this costs. I'll put everything on a pdf file so you can know what everything is. So we're going to be using watercolors. We're also going to be needing watercolor paper. I have thes one from cans, um, world's. They're going to be needed Really theme brushes, a pencil, an eraser, a plate for mixing all the colors, water and a paper towel, so I hope you can get all the supplies to get it started. 3. Watercolor Flower Basics: in this video. I want to show you some of the basics I think that are necessary to know when first painting of flour. So in the first layer, when you start painting your flower, you have to use a lot of water and not so much color like this one. Because then you're going to have details and you're you're going to add more deaf to it. So you have to make sure the first layer is with a lot of water and just very light colors , you know? So for the second layer, you're going to have, you know, the first layer behind it with the same color and everything, and then you're going to take a darker color. Or maybe could be it can be the same one, but just with less water, you know, so it can be more intense. Um, just like this. You also want to make sure that you blended with water so you don't see like this straight line right there, So just make sure you don't use too much water. You have to kind of find a balance, because then if use, use a lot of water, you're going to It's going to take forever to dry. And if you're not a patient person, well, you're gonna get bored and stuff. So now that you blended and now that it's dry, the next step would be to to add texture to your to your flower because flowers have textures. So what I do is just wait for it to dry and then, just with really light strokes, start putting lines on it just to make it look more natural and more realistic. So just make sure that it's not like a really harsh lying just makes a little bit of water with that color. And make sure your brush is not that what, so you can have the texture. Now we're going to be doing the same, but with the shape off Ah, flower petal. So basically, just start with the first layer, just with a little bit off caller and mark much water. And then, for the second part, you're going to add deft to it. You know, like put the same color but more color than water and then just blended with water. So now the rest is just wait for your pedal to dry and add those little lines to to keep a texture just like this. I just want to remind you that, um this guy that I'm making here will be scanned, and it will be posted on the class on A pdf so you can download it in, observe it as much as you want, just for you to to keep in mind these things. So I'm just in the side. I'm going to show you how the strokes I do, how thin they are, how much water to use. Just so you know that the first ones I'm doing there have more water than color. The second ones have a lot off color in a lot of water, too. And the third ones are more like a little bit of water and much more collar. So it's kind of what makes right there. So you just have to practice to find, to find out how these things work and yeah, I hope that you learn in these class and I'll see you in the next video 4. Sketching: now in these video, we're going to start sketching the painting. I wanted something not so time consuming something easier. So I decided to to paint like kind of base with water holding flowers. So I always start looking for inspiration and Pinterest photos of off flowers. Or you can always get a flower and observe it, place it physically and and then just start sketching. You can see where you have the flower more textures than a picture, so it's always great to have a flower to observe. So I'm just adding flowers here. So how it will look on these side and this catching part is really important because it's gonna take the whole shape off off the rest. And I think that you have to to investigate what flowers would look good, and you have to take a lot of time to do this. It's cereal important. If you don't like something, erase it and do it again. And once you're happy with the sketch, just make sure to erase everything a little bit. Just because we don't want when we finish the painting, still see the pencil lines because they're too harsh, so always make sure the lines are kind of erased, but you can, but make sure you can still see them, and that's it. 5. Painting Part 1: Now here comes the fun part where we start painting everything. Then you just have to make sure to start with the first layer that we talked about on the other exercise and just deciding one what colors you want for your flowers and and just remember that the first layer is always very with much more water than color. Then we're going to be at adding deft to it, you know, just like the exercise. But with the actual flower, just start adding the same color, but with less water and then just blended with water and just wait for it to dry, then two at the texture. Just that's what basically we're going to do with every flower. And yeah, I hope you you like this video and I'm basically doing the same thing. You know, if you observe, I'm really carefully, you'll see that just I just add color and then blended with water and then wait for it to dry and then add detection. So that's basically it. I am going to do that thing with every flower, and then I'm just going to let you finish these first part off the painting. So just observed how I'm doing this, and I hope this inspires you for you to to make something 6. Painting Part 2: Now we have reached this second part of this video, which is basically just painting the rest of the flowers just the same way we did with a pink flowers. Um, just start doing the textures and the deft, and that's basically for the leaves. You'll see that it's it's nothing, um, different. I just start with the with the base off off are really light green color, and then I just with a darker green. I just start adding texture to the leaves, and that's it. Um, you will see the rest of the video, how I do everything, and it's nothing complicated. It's just basically what I've told you in the other Biggio's. And I hope you enjoy these rest of the of the video and yes. 7. Final Thoughts + Thanks: These are other examples that, um I've been doing with this kind of part. Um anything really works with flowers, Flowers to release look beautiful and can be painted with by by themselves or like, some elements to another thing you've been painting. Um and yeah, this is it for this class. I hope this class really inspired you to paint. I would love to see everyone's projects of what you've been working on. Thanks to this class, I really believe that this class waas really great. So I hope if you liked it, you leave our review or you leave your project. It would really mean too much to me.
