Project Description

4fc2d70d

For the class project students will be creating a set of four postcards that tell the story of where they currently are in the wild world. Students will be guided by each video lesson to create the following deliverables:

  • L O C A T I O N: The location that's being represented in the set of postcards
  • B A S I C   T E C H N I Q U E S   &   C A T A L O G: An exploration of the medium, as well as save-worthy marks and textures
  • R E F E R E N C E   P H O T O S: Royalty free images and/or self taken images to be used for creating postcard artwork
  • T H U M B N A I L S: small, explorative drawings, void of fine detail, that provide a skeleton for the final artwork
  • F I N A L   P O S T C A R D   A R T W O R K: The final product, a set of four postcards

Class Resources are provided on the right side of this page, and include:

  • P R O J E C T   S T E P S: An at-a-glance guide to the project steps
  • M A T E R I A L S   L I S T: A master list of the tools and brands I've used
  • S U P P O R T I V E   C L A S S E S: A list of other Skillshare classes that may help round out the information taught in this course
  • C L A S S   R U B R I C: A clear guide with good, better, and best practices for completing the class project. If you don't have a lot of time or just need a fun project to whet your appetite, stick to the 'good' column. If you're trying to squeeze every drop out of the class, stick to the 'best' column, or find your place within them at any given step in the project.
