Project Description

Shoot a 5-photo essay of a friend practicing their craft.

ASSIGNMENT

Your goal is to capture the true essence of someone doing their craft – whether it’s writing, basketball, acting, cooking, etc. – and tell their story through a series of photographs of them in their working environment. By going through this process you’ll learn about composition, lighting, and telling stories.

DELIVERABLE

Upload your photo story to the project gallery on Skillshare. A final project includes the following 5 photographs:

  • Wide angle shot of the setting or environment
  • Close up traditional portrait
  • Detail shot of their tools or workspace
  • Shot of what they're making and them in action
  • Final closing shot to wrap up the story
