About This Class

we had to make a basic course for this awesome game. does it need a course? maybe not but i think we need to be careful for our kids and teenagers out there in the streets. just a headsup guide really, overview of what the game is, why it's popular, how to be cool in front of the kids by understanding the game (secret player maybe?)

we ask such questions as. ..

  • what is pokemon go
  • five things to consider as a parent before letting kids play
  • issues, problems, lockups and malware?
  • power tips, advice and how to be awesome in game
  • how small businesses are crushing it on footfall trade as pokestops

hope you enjoy the course, we had a blast making it and look forward to other additions to this course as time goes by. we used open source content from various sites around the web to make this, i made the animation of the ball from scratch and used the pokemon dafont font.

p.s - watch where your going when you cross the roads! :)

1. 1.0 - introduction: this course is around 20 minutes. So welcome to this course on Pokemon. Go. I thought it be a really good idea to put out a free course, mainly for parents, but for anybody using interested in Pokemon go. So here's the topics for the introduction. What is Pokemon Go? Five things for parents to consider before letting your kids play issues, problems and potential. Now where should we be concerned? How our tips and advice we can give you about becoming awesome in the game and how small businesses can potentially benefit if you're near a poker star or a gym, even using learns to drive footfall on the poker stops. 2. 1.1 - what is pokemon go: So one is Pokemon. Go Pokemon Go is an augmented reality mobile exploration game. If you remember, Google came out with a game a few years back called Ingress. If you remember, that game is very similar in some ways. The approach off ingress. They use different points. Data from ingress for the churches and the poker stop sales. Walk around with their mobile phones, using the GPS on the phones, collecting wild Pokemon and earning points in XP as they go. So the game theme of the game is to level up. The characters fight on own gyms in your locality. Obviously, the you gotta find them all carries on from the game many decades ago. I don't think it's going to be just the trend. I believe that players will lay this Andi integrate this as part of their daily routine, especially when it comes to exercising. I think we've probably seen in the last two weeks geeks and nerds across the world exercise for the first time. It may be quite some time, especially as regular as they need to in terms of leveling up eggs where you will probably get into that later on. So far, the stats have come out double the engagement of Snapchat, eclipsing Twitter in terms off percentage of daily active users. And it's seeing a really rapid growth has taken quite a few people by surprise, I think. 3. 1.2 - things for parents to consider: anything to do with the Internet. There is a few Internet safety rules that I think we need to make sure that Children onda teenagers need to think about. Although there's no particular chat in the game, Obviously, we want to make sure that we get it concrete across to act kids that you know we don't speak or talk to strangers in real life while they're at these poker stops. Are these gyms a lot of people coming together of these places to find Pokemon. But also there might be other people who realize that there's gonna be a lot of kids and teenagers in a space, and those spaces might be set back from the road or out of the view of CCTV, etcetera. So we need to educate at kids as to what is going on, because for the first time, for some people, they're actually playing games outside of the house or away from the console, and obviously, is a lot of other metrics that come into play with the GPS and mobile phones. So one thing that will say is, please use an alias in game, do not usual real name and never shared details with someone you meet. Obviously, this is, ah, common one that you would expect people to do, but just got to make sure that the kids and the teenagers understand. This also extends to gaming. Another thing that I've been thinking about is that if you're running around with a mobile phone, it might be a good idea to get your your kids a case with a wrist straps so that if there walking along or they get their hands, get tired on the risk, get tired. If they drop it, then it's at least attached to their wrists and it won't smash. A lot of these phones now are subsidized. You're on a contract two years. Some of them, you know, cost the £100 always to get replaced. If the screen breaks, I think is a good idea for damage, but also for theft. I'm amazing. Android phones out there these days for around £100 played on a lower and phone, but still dual the features that you need to do. Then I would suggest that getting a lower and phone just to play Pokemon go seems a bit excessive. It's better than losing an 809 £100 iPhone six s, So maybe that will be a way to go with it as well. It's playing in well lit areas. I know that a lot of these poker stops are in popular places, but there's also a lot that are behind the scenes behind somewhere. CCTV cameras thing well lit. And we don't want people going out at two or three o'clock in the morning just on their own , to these places, just through to get poker model to go to one of these little places. So I would suggest making sure that if your kids are playing this game that they play together in groups, they keep in touch, maybe get asked them to keep in touch hourly to let people know where they are, but also thrown iPhone. And I think you can get something similar for the Android as well, with find my friends activated for geo location just so you can check in on them. Because this is a geo location. At that, they will walk a lot longer than they would probably normally just to find thes rare Pokemon, I need to stress this is well, businesses are starting to use thes elements in game called Lear's, which they could buy, which plug into the poker stops to attract Pokemon rare Pokemon. What it's doing is having a side effect by bringing foot fall into that area. So I just want you to get across to your kids and your teenagers to be aware of their surroundings while they're at these places and make sure they're they're looking around at the different people that are there and just make sure that they're safe and aware of what's going on. 4. 1.3 - issues, problems and malware: so gotta catch the more fever spread across the planet. It was a bit of, ah, slow rollout because the servers were getting overloaded with the amount of people trying to sign up. I think they're getting to source most problems in pink times. Obviously still got that that issue. There may be times when the it freezes up, you can't get on the server. There is reports of malware versions off unofficial Android versions out there, which are called AP case. When the game was announced, a lot of people downloaded the A P K. You have to really check the sources of where that came from because there is a number of Pokemon AP Kay's going around that have root kits built into them. And these Ricketts of very damaging and can route the phone, which basically means even if you wipe the phone, the virus older malware stays on the phone and can do a variety of different things, I would say make sure that the download is from an official source, Also the first game that came out. The first version gave access to pretty much everything to do with your Google account, which supposedly in the second version has been restricted, and less information is shared between your Google account on their platform. I think that's been fixed, but double check that you've got the updated version hearing also from people that the early versions are freezing. When you're catching a Pokemon, sometimes you need to restart the app so it can be really frustrating when you see something super wild and you try to catch it in the APP Freezes. Have noticed, though, that if you do catch it in the ball and then it's freezing on screen sometimes that you get that into your poker deck. So if it looks like it's locking up a lot, restart the application, they're gonna be working on it. I'm gonna have issues with different platforms and different versions of phones, so just give them a few more version alterations. If you did get the malware version, it can survive on the phone. Like I said after it's been deleted in, if it's a root kit, it can get into the phone at really low level. So do seek out an expert for that 5. 1.4 - tips and tricks in game: so some optimizing and some tips or in game, you'll find that your battery will go down very quickly when you're walking around looking for wild Pokemon. So one of the things in the settings is that you can put on battery saving mode. So when you're walking, if you hold your phone upside down, the screen goes blank and it saves the energy display. So obviously socially a bit of energy there, then if it does, other optimization is, but it's kind of useful. So you bring up right, the screen comes on again. One thing that I've been doing is looking at the secondary attack on the weight of my Pokemon before parent, if I have all the Pokemon in my poker that are higher on their secondary attack or their weight is higher there, no on X s like extra small, Then I tend to keep those ones and upgrade those ones. The other ones could be sent to the professor, and you get some starters for sending them to be able to upgrade the ones that you've got. I've noticed. Also after Level five putting your highest Pokemon at Jim brings in free random items at the shop, and you get that every 20 hours. So fighting for a GM leveling things are is beneficial to you instead of spending money and caught to get coins getting coins to buy stuff. If you dominate a number of Jim's in your local area, you'll be able to get that every 20 hours from go to the shop and you'll get some money in various items. Also found that turning your ham ramon off the A r the like. The artificial reality may help with accuracy and throwing the ball some phones, maybe underpowered or may have, like power issues. When you turn the camera on in game as well, that might effect will get glitchy, so try it without it. See if it makes it better on some phones. It will be better because it's not using the graphics card. So much is not using the camera technology. Also, if you live somewhere remote, you know in a very sort of populated area, it's a good idea to use the incense off grades to bring in Pokemon because otherwise you could be walking around on area and not actually see that money Pokemon for a while, so they last for about 30 minutes. Good to keep when you're in a non populated area or somewhere in the countryside. 6. 1.5 - businesses love pokemon go: so quickly talking about the business side of it. Businesses come set up an account, purchase lures and post them to a poker stop to bring in footfall for about $1.21 dollar, 19 hours. So around 50 cents for half an hour. Now this lure is attached to the poker stop. It doesn't necessarily mean that it brings them. Ultimately, foot fall into the shot. But if it's near to a shop and lots of people are going there because rare Pokemon are coming out is luring Pokemon out, and lots of people will go to the area. And they may want tohave heat, sir, or some food. But you need to advertise it from your stool, just having the lose their expect, expecting to get business not gonna do it, but someone who done a calculation for 1 19 an hour for a 24 hour period of having these loads dropped in there. You would just have one of your workmates or even the owner can do it if they're in their for eight or 12 hours. Also, you could do offers and length. You don't on Facebook, so I put this on you using Facebook pages, Facebook ads, paper and banners promotions you can turn foot falls into into customers. Also put a link at the bottom of this page. Go poke dot link for slash more business lists. Not all businesses out. Poke stops. You'll see them in game via GPS. Fortunately, mobile phone. But if they're fairly near to your business, you can. You can do that. One of things I will say is that you can also educate people around the areas to what the gyms are, maybe on Facebook, and do a landing page for that, given them enough finding out from those businesses or from them poke stops and actually going a walking to them, putting the Lauren just letting people know what time of day that you'll be sponsoring, effectively putting that little on that so attract rarer and more powerful Pokemon equals Game is looking for a pizza. Places across the US are offering drinks and slices of pizza players, and they're doing quite well out of it. Thank you very much. 7. 1.6 - gotta catchem all closing: So finally, to wrap everything up, you gotta catch em all. Please educate talk and play with your kids so they understand the dangers and what is safe digital play. I think this is crucial. I know a lot of UK charities this week of come out and said, Now this adds another dimension to playing when you're outside on the street by GPS is a lot with electricity involved, and I totally agree to please play the game, look of what it involves. Go out and play this game with your kids. Make sure they're knowledgeable is to their environment on what goes on within. Understand also that from unofficial sources, you could get malware and viruses. Please use official installs from the APP store and Google play. Still, hopefully, some of those awesome tits will be useful for really expanding your poker decks. And I hope some small businesses have also realised that this could be a massive impact on their footfall. I know for a local place around here they've got to Jim's on the number of Hoke stops in one space, and we're gonna put some rollers down this weekend. What group do some advertising on that so you can create more footfall for your business. Part town and city. Hope this was useful. It was enjoyable. You subscribe to my other courses and I will catch it. We sit in. Take care. Bye. 8. 1.7 - share and review (...): while I have you enjoyed the course, Please share and review the course. It really does. Help me out. Click on the triple dot button. Leave a review shared with Twitter and Facebook. I'll catch up with you.
