In this course you will acquire the basic skills you need to play your favourite songs in the piano. 1. Introduction: Hi. Welcome to your music Harmony. Basic scores where you will learn how to play your favorite song. Sunapee in My Name is one morphine and I will be really certain I'm a classical pianist and composer, and I feel passionate about finding new ways to propose team harmonies. Person in almost every some we hear from most after a Rolling Stones. No, we helped identify and use it and allow us to play easily. Songs by a bill like these just play along in the scores. I will teach you how to use the basic building blocks for harmonizing the music you love with beautiful courts. You don't need prior knowledge. You just need to be willing to play music and expand your credit. I will introduce you to concepts in a practical music of way. Handle hand with simple, very initial theory for you to remember them easily. We will play some. You may know you will quickly be able to play those songs. Another songs as well. You will learn first the steps to identify the main courts by ear or site on their functions, and second, the ability to use them at well either to make covers of songs or create your own music. For these course, it is preferable you have a keyboard on site, whether it is under phone, piano, electric piano or pills. 2. Our Project For This Course: As we saw in the introduction, the objective of this course is that you can be able to recognize the most basic courts by year or site to understand how they actually work. And that you can be able to use them to accompany songs you like or melodies of Iran composition. Along the course, you will choose a song you like, and you will identify its main courts so you can play it and seeing it by the end of the course. Yes, a song that may seem overwhelming now. But if you follow the course carefully, you will be able to do that and much more by the end, learning a song like you will in your project will give you the first practice you need to start making songs of your own. So let's get started and begin with our first topic, the nodes we use in music. Moreover, if after the course you wish to continue progressing, you will be able to do so with many skills of your own already acquired. And we've greater advantage if you carry further lessons with teacher, we will start introducing topics and being with examples as soon as possible so you can start your son. I'll be with you every step of the way so you can finish with success. 3. Class 1. The Notes: as the very first step, the worst learning harmony we need to get family of with the notes of a level in the pen. When you first come to the keyboard, you see a match off white on black keys. That may seem random at first sight, but they are not on the order is super easy to identify. As you can see in the piano, we have two groupings of Lucky's to over here and free over there, repeating all over the key worth on below all the whites to find the most popular reference . Note A. C. You just have to look for the first note to the left of the group off to Blackie's beginning and see. You can easily notice that their turbo notes between your C on the Follow me one. As you can see in the picture, take a moment to play with those stuff case by playing them all parts or backwards, like this, or in any way you like and then come back. Now you have seen that we name this note a C. That is because following the out of it until D from C, you get to hear the first part of a major scale in all white case like this, and then begin every day. You finish their scale until you reach. See again. These letters are our basic official guides in the music world. You will soon be able to use them easily to play any music you want. For now, I can tell you the scale you have made with all white case. It's a major scale on because it begins with a C. It is called a C major scale. Remember, you must follow the alphabet from sea onto G and then from May until you reach. See again. I can't say the words scale and major too many times, So let's define both terms in our next last. They made your scale. See, you don't forget to play with your beautifully made, made your skills. 4. Class 2. The Major Scale: Part I: Welcome back. Remember what the C major scale looks like? Like this. You begin with a C here and full of the wrath of it onto G and then beginning with a you finish their scale onto do rich see again. But what is has scale It is just a set of notes order from lower to higher notes or higher to lower notes. In the case of our C major scale, it is called a major because that specific area of notes is called that way. It's a simple as that there is not just see major, but also the e f d A and B major skills. They're also major skills that begin with each of the Black Keys. Will we talk about them later? For example, a D major scale. Sounds like this on that. Be made yourselves like this. See how they sound like the C major scale? Do you know know that is because they already have notes is the same. How is that possible? With so many different keys? Well, that's because the notice birth even Lee from the piano. Remember, the 12 notes replayed the last class, the alternate between white and black keys, but atonal distance between one note on the next. It's always the same. That means that beginning with any notary went, you can imagine and play one array of notes and their A will always sound alike. Look at these examples. Ortiz A. So you can see their endless possibilities. Try some yourself, go back to over, made your scale and ask What is the specific array of notes Seascape follows? There is quite simple look at the notes for your piano. Now you should start naming they even distance, treating each of the notes as a semi tone or have them a semi tone is a distance reaching a note and immediate following one In European like this as well do she's starting the distance between two notes escape one in the middle as one tone a tone is a distance, reaching enough on the note next to the immediate following one in European like this. Now that you know what 1/2 tone or semi tone on whether Tony's we can see the array of the major scale, we will use every C major scale to do that, beginning with the sea going to Did you have one tone of descends going to you as well, going to If you have 1/2 tone distance or semi tone, then going to G. You have a tone, the sense again for a You have a tone distance again for Be a tone again and finally, for see 1/2 stone again. So as you can see in the drawing, the major scale has two tone distances. Lost one semi tone for me, too. If freedom distances from F to be on one senator from B to C. So Jesus, structure of the major scale. Now try to replicate that same structure struck thing for many other key, white or black. How that you know the structure off the mayor scale. Go on, replicate it in your piano. Play with it with any key you want black or white, you can ask me whatever questions you have 5. Class 3. The Major Scale: Part II: Welcome back. Now it is very useful to imagine that a scale. It's like a road in which you traveled by. You want to get somewhere, but in order to write to that destination, you must follow in a specific route. You can see what I mean with this analogy, just like playing your C major escape. Suppose that the note see, is your hope. As you're playing a 1,000,000 you go take a walk from sea to your final destination, our friend scouts. As you walk, you get an increasing sensation off. Arriving through your friends. Caps on. We do get there. The music tells you you that they're finally there at your friend's caps. Really central. Virtually all music, Whether it's classical music, passport or Iraq, the logic is exactly the same. Every song travels have road from point A to point B, with more or less stops along the way. We can see these with a very simple example, a song that we are almost familiar. Read the French song for a Jack. The song uses only the 1st 5 notes off a major scale, and you can play it in any of the toe of existing manure scales. For example, I am going to play it in a C major escape, listen to it and pay attention to the no tightly a. So you can see the melody begins with C e. No talk to see mayors place a bit before finally returning. What Macy is that this logic off a road that goes from Point A to appoint me is the fundamental logic off all the melodies off all songs on the harmony that supports those melodies as well. Off course a song can be sec as the one we just played, but harmony and melody can increase complexity indefinitely with infinite possibilities. For example, look at this information. - This melody that I also played in C Major doesn't begin with C. But look, the melody is kind of insisting we went into a vote on We need So where it finally reaches home as he now police play a melody yourself. It doesn't cost avian see major half far and come back for our next lesson where we will see our two first main major courts 6. Class 4. Technical Tips I: Position and Strenghtening: As for this lesson, we have seen a number of musical concepts and provided useful examples. However, you may feel very uncomfortable trend to play with just one or two fingers like I did. I certainly did. So we will have a special sessions with technical tips along the course. In this first lesson, we'll take a look at some technical basics, namely, the best position for you to play and the best way to start streaming and using your fingers to play smartly. Before playing, it is important that you sit in a position at this most healthy for your body and optimal for you to move efficiently without obstacles. First, look at the bench. Just your buttocks must be lying on the bench, not your legs. You must be comfortable, but just with your buttock scenes so you can move freely without getting stuck in your seat. Second, measure your distance. Once you have your buttocks well-placed, see that only your nice, stable loader keyboard, you must not neither too close, not too far off the keyboard. So you don't have to make effort to reach for the keys. And so you are able to move and look for their whole keyword easily. Before playing Metallica or Lady Gaga, you must have and I scanned and our position, you must start strengthening your fingers slowly but surely to play better every day. First said you are back in a straight position. Now, you should let your arm rest in your leg, completely loose and look at your hand, see how it is naturally in a wrong position. Many people played it began not with the fingers fully or mostly stretching. What that has inconveniences in the long run. If you want to play a lot of glasnost fast, you're stretching fingers. Maybe an obstacle instead is have fingers are naturally Romney. Keep in mind your Randy hand. Now, if you are playing separated notes like white quartz octets or her Beziers, It is normal for your hand to stretch wife. Second, but your hand gently over the keys without pressing them and place each finger gently on top of 100 white key. Like this. Your fingers must be perfectly parallel to the wall behind your keys. And usually be touching with your fingerprints, not your names, without bending your fingers in any way. This is the basic position you are going to take to start playing. Look, with this position, I can play a C Major chord and the first part of a C major scale. Firth, let your arms, your arms should not be squeezing against your body, but rather loose and with a comfortable distance from your torch. Before playing, stretch gently like this. Before exercises, always taking might these seven position reminders that we will use for our first exercises. First, watch out for your fingers to be each one key from C to G and hold them in place. Number to each using only your fingers. Number three, don't use your wrist like this. Number four, Don't forget to play with your fingerprints and don't bend your fingers. Number five, each note should sound individually, always, and usually avoid dragging nodes like this. Number six. Lastly, don't lose your position. Every finger should always be over its corresponding white key. Position is essential. Number seven, always be relaxed, but not Lucy, you are the master of your finger's, not them. For example, I can play these fast if I don't watch my position first and look after it carefully. Remember Bishop is fulfilling these points. Sounds overwhelming and boring, but it is worth it. Because if you do it regularly, you will replay in courts and scales beautifully in no time and you will leave these exercises behind. It's like going to the gym. For your fingers to be strong enough to play, you must go to your finger gene and make some Mosque. Now it's time for you to start building those amazing skills. What's your seat, arm and hand positions and make this exercise labeled each of the five months with your right hand only upwards and downwards like this. Now, do this same what we are left hand like this. Repeat the exercise ten times. Idea we would, If you don't have any time, repeat it as much as you can. And then west five minutes before the next exercise. Now, very carefully, you will play a C major chord in first position like this. And now your lift him. After you play your court play, each of the court denotes individually like this. And now your left hand. If you do these exercises regularly, you will be playing music in no time, almost automatically, and you will be in control. 7. Class 5. The I, IV, and V Grades: Now that we have seen how upscale words, let's get started with our first skirts. First of all, remember when we talked about the major scale and said that the logic of old songs is that of a bath killing somewhere in this class. That statement, when we made a lot clearer, let's take I will stop and examine the structure of a major chord. As C-Major chord looks like this. So we follow the pattern and see that between the first second note, we've got two tones. And then between the second third nodes, 1.5 domes. Let's go back to our theme. The courts we are learning today are located in the first, fourth, fifth grades of our major scale. Don't worry, the logic of Roman numerals in the scale is super easy. You just have to count numbers from C to B and you have the grades of the scale. Look at the picture. That's it. We use Roman numerals because that is what is used. So courts begin with us see, for the first grade, an F for the fourth grade, and algae for the field. Wait. Why does he have they actually sound? At this point? You might be like, Well, that's amazing, but it's got to be more complicated than that. Well, it isn't. The incredible song by buying Kayla just uses a free course we are learning to use. Let us see how the turkeys at Bang hailing actually uses these courts in various positions. Positions, Take a look at your C major chord, for example. You play it, but then you play the same, taking your C to the next year ago, leaving the rest behind Neopolitan new position. You can do the same with a, E, and the G if you play them all straightforward, it sounds amazing. Well, let's go back to the main k1 song. Lady song, as many times as you have two until you get what you want, just mimic the video. That's it. Records are the most basic stock. Do you need to get started in harmony? And they are so powerful because they are the most basic unity harmony in the first place. Suppose efforts record, which in the case of a C major scale is a C Major chord, is your home is. You can go anywhere from there, but eventually you must return unless you want to sleep somewhere else. In the second place. Suppose a fifth grade court, which in a C-major scale, ESA, G-Major chord, that favorably placed near your house. You go most often after your formulas. You can easily come and go between that February place and your home. To better understand what I mean, see how going from the fifth grade to our first grade sounds like coming home. A lot of endings in music work this way. In the third place. Suppose a fourth-grade court, which in a C-major scale is F-Major chord, is your second favorite place after the fifth court. You can easily get back home from their Manasseh CCLE as from the fifth grade. See how they're free of them summed together. We can follow the sequence first, fourth, fifth, first. And it sounds like a very safe and sound journey home. As an exercise, I want you to play the jump into biobank healing in at least three scales, which can be called tonalities as well. So, for example, if you choose a G major scale, look for the fifth, fourth grades and replicate the jump. Do the same for two other technologies.
