Project Description

Select Like a Pro with Masking

Masking is truly one of the most basic and most crucial skills you need to master as a retoucher. Once you get the hang of Selection Tools, the Brush Palette, Quickmask, and Color Range, you’ll wonder why you never used these tools before.

Deliverable:

Upload your final retouched photo using the Masking techniques you learned.

  • Understand how Masking works. Before I show you how to do it, you need to understand how masking works. It can be tricky, but when you begin to grasp the concept, the rest will come easily.
  • QuickMask allows you to fine-tune your mask. Used with Color Range, this will make your selections easier to create. Practice using Color Range to pull out areas of color. You can then use QuickMask to clean it up further.

A finished project should include:

  • Your final image
  • Your original image
  • A brief summary of your process and what you’ve learned

Up next is the Basic 1 – Masking Simplified class to keep you going through the whole course HERE: http://skl.sh/1XRNS1T

Good luck, and I’ll see you in my class.
