About This Class

Work Non-Destructively with Proper Layer Order

Mistakes are inevitable—retouching means having do-overs at every stage of your project. Because it’s frustrating to repeat everything all over again—or worse—damage your photo because you can no longer undo an adjustment—it’s important to adapt a non-destructive workflow. This means that in order to properly edit an image, we use all methods that will allow us to make changes without actually damaging our original photo, just so we can go back and redo any adjustment seamlessly.

In this kind of setup, making the most out of the LAYERS and proper LAYER ORDER in Photoshop will mean the world to you once you start editing like a true pro. Think of each layer as a sheet of tinted glass that you overlay on top of your image. Any changes made here don’t affect your original photo, so each adjustment you make needs to be on a new separate layer, one on top of the other. This class will help you master and understand just how each layer works.
