About This Class

Sometimes we may have a photograph that perfectly captures the person, but the overall mood of the scene is not quite right for the purpose we want to use it.

Transforming that photograph into a pencil style drawing can be the perfect way to soften the image and lessen the background distractions.

In this class you will learn exactly that, how to take an existing photograph and through a number of guided steps, transform it into a timeless hand drawn pencil drawing.

This class may interest you if you have an image of sentimental value, that you would like to transform and give a special place in your home or as a gift, or even something as simple as creating an online avatar that conveys an artistic or handmade quality that you bring in your work.

This class really is step-by-step and does not assume any prior knowledge of Photoshop. If you know your way around your own computer and have Photoshop installed you should be good to go.

Some of the things you will learn in this class …

  • How to use a layer mask
  • How to desaturate an image
  • The steps and filters needed to create a hand drawn effect
  • How to save your work into a format you can share

See you in class...

My name is Noel, I am a long-time Desk Top Publisher living in the UK. More recently I have become interested in vector graphics, t-shirt design and Photoshop. I have found the best way to really learn something is to teach it, I hope you enjoy my class :o)
