About This Class

In this class, I'll be showing you how to create the Follow Your Bliss PhotoArt image. This image is made using simple techniques to create a complex and textured background, layer by layer, and finished off with a quote by joseph Campbell.

I’ve included a set of project files including a brush set and transparent images that you can download and use to follow along with the tutorial and make the same design as I do. Or you can use your own images and text to create something totally unique for you.

I hope you enjoy this class and I look forward to seeing your projects.

1. Introduction: I. My name is Linda Matthews and welcome to photo art effects In this series of classes, I'm sharing creative techniques for turning your photographs into photo art and works of digital art in this class will be showing you how to create the folio Bliss PHOTO Art image . This image is made using simple techniques to create a complex and textured background layer by layer and finished off with a quote by Joseph Campbell. I've included a set of project files, including photos and text. Your images, as well as a brush said that you can download and use to follow along with the tutorial. I make the same design as I do well. You can use your own images to create something totally unique for you. I hope you enjoy learning how to work with these creative techniques to make beautiful photo art. 2. Set up floating windows: by default images. Openers docked tabs on the editing screen. However, I prefer to use floating windows, which allows you to easily move and reposition images on the workspace when creating photo art. I often work with multiple images at a time, so I find that using floating windows is a much easier way to copy and paste and drag images from one place to another. If your image is currently openers tabs on the editing screen, there are several different ways that you can change them to. Floating windows are the temporarily or permanently. You can temporarily change to floating windows by clicking on the image tab and dragging it from the dock. Or you can go to the main menu and select window. Arrange floating window for a single image will float all in windows to float the mall. You can also change this setting permanently said that any documents you open will automatically float for windows. Choose edit preferences workspace awful Mac. Choose Photoshopped preferences workspace, then de select open documents as tabs. You can also select or de select enable floating document window docking when checked. This setting allows you to dock the floating windows as a tab if you want to. When de selected, you won't be able to dock the windows at all. You can also make sure that the window frame resize is when zooming for windows. Choose edit preferences tools or for Mac. Choose photo shop preferences tools, then check zoom. Resize is windows known. You consume in and out using keyboard shortcuts. Control plus for Windows or command Plus for Mac to zoom in and control minus for Windows or command minus for Mac. Just amount and the window frame will resize automatically, as you assume you will then need to restart photo shop for these preferences to take effect . 3. Make the background: to get started with your photo. Our design will first create the background using texture layers and blamed them together. Make a new blank file size 1000 pixels wide by 1000 pixels high by 72 pp. I. The background type doesn't matter, as we won't be using it. Save the file to your desktop and name it. Follow your bliss Snot PSD. You want to save the file using the PST format in order to preserve the layers, And you also want to make sure to save the file each time you make a change toward so you don't lose any of your work from your resource is download files. Open the file named Dark Texture. Dajae PG and place it on the working document. You can do this in several ways. Use keyboard shortcut, control a for windows or command A from AC. To select the texture control, see for windows or command. See from act, copy it, click on the working document and use control V for Windows or command FIFA Mac to paste it or simply drank the texture onto the working document using your mouse. Reposition if necessary and make sure that the image sits evenly inside the frame. Name the layer doc texture. Click on the background layer and drag it into the trash bin because we don't need it. Open the file light texture and R J P. G and place it on the working document so that it's on the layer above dark texture. Named the layer light texture. Click on the light texture, Lato highlighted and from the blending modes drop down box on the layers. Panel. Select hard light. You can see that this plane mood has deepened and darkened the color of the textures, giving a much more saturated color. This will allow the color to remain vivid on the background. After we've added the overlays, open the file wallpaper overlay dot PNG and place it on the working document so that it's on the layer above light texture. Name the layer wallpaper. This Panji overlay file has a transparent background, which allows you to see the images on the layers below. It click on the wallpaper, layered, highlighted and changed the A pass ITI to 25%. This helps to blend the wallpaper design into the background textures, and now the overall image is starting to give the impression, often old faded and worn wall 4. Add the door: open the file door Dajae PG and place it on the working document so that it's on the layer above wallpaper named the layer door. Position the image so that it sits right up against the frame in the top right corner. Open the file clipping mask. Stop PNG and place it on the working document so that it's on the layer above door. Name the layer clipping mosque center and position the clipping mask image over the door handle, then dragged the clipping mosque Leia underneath the door. Leah. You'll notice that the clipping mask appears to have disappeared from the working document . Click on the door layer to selected, then use keyboard shortcut Control G for windows or command option G for Mac, You can now see on the layer pallet that the door layer is indented and connected to the clipping mask lay of be lowered on the main document. You can see that a portion of the door has been hidden, and what remains visible has taken on the shape of the clipping Mask. Clipping masks can be used to hide unwanted parts of a layer from view, and in this case we've also used it to soften and feather the inches around the door handle so that it looks like it's blending into the background. There are many different ways to apply a clipping mask. Let's try another method using a brush to make the clipping mosque instead of using a PNG file. This is a handy technique for making clipping masks on the fly right Click on the door layer and select release clipping mask. Click on the clipping mask layer and drag it into the trash bin to remove it. There are lots of different ways to load brush files into voter shop. This strong will use the brush presets panel if you don't already have the brush Preset panel. Open use Keyboard shortcut B To select the brush tool, then, on the main menu, select window brush presets. Auriol opened the folder Cold brushes. Click on the Follow Your Bliss Today Be our filed toe highlighted, then click load. Once you've done that, you'll see that the brushes have been appended to the bottom of the current brush set, located in the brush preset panel. By hovering your mouse over the little thumbnail images, the name of the brush pops up so you know which one to choose. Select the grunge brush. Make sure that blankets selected as your foreground color, then click on the clipping mask layer to highlight it on the working document, carefully paint over the area on the top, right to reveal the door. Hold the shift key and select the door layer and the clipping mounts. Claire. Click on the little link at the bottom of the latest panel to join these two layers together. Now you can reposition both these images together wherever you want. Physician them said that they are slightly away from the edges and evenly spaced in the top right corner. 5. Add some stains: Now we let some stains to make the background wall look a little more aged and vintage. Open the file stain overlay dot PNG and place the image on the working document. If you have trouble dragging the image out of its frame or moving it about on the working document uncheck order. Select located on the top panel. Click on the layer to select it, and you should be able to move it about freely. Name Julia Steyn and change the A. Pass ITI to 60% so that it blends better into the background. Create a new layer above the small stained three layer and name it butterflies from the brush panel. Select the brush, but a fly out brush. Click on the bottom left corner of the document to apply the brush. I share the technique for making this art brush. In my video class named Butterfly on Brush, you can now see that the digital image is beginning to take shape and has some character and implied meaning the doorway has mysteriously appeared in the old faded and stained wall on the butterflies offer a vision of hope and new beginnings. Now, it said, some final touches to the image create a new layer above the butterflies layer and name it roughage. From the brush preset panel, select the brush roughage. You can use this one brush to apply a grunge mark along the top bottom or sides of the image simply by rotating it. Open all the word files and place each of the words on the working document so that they flow from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. - If you have problems moving the word images around, click the move to and uncheck the order. Select option located on the top menu. Click on the layer you want to move, and you should be able to easily move it around to reposition it. This completes the follow Your Bliss Photo Odd image.
