Project Description

Write your own envelope stack!

This class is recommended for those with a basic familiarity with calligraphy. If you're brand-new to calligraphy, be sure to check out all of Bryn's classes on Skillshare, including Calligraphy I: Writing in Classic Modern Script and Calligraphy II: Finding Your Personal Script Style!

Assignment

Address a stack of 20 envelopes using a style and ink color of your choice. Your goal is to provide a consistent look and feel, a professional finished set of work, and an elegant and exciting stack of mail!

Envelopes can present a lot of different challenges, variables, and opportunities — and they are often at the core of a calligrapher's client work. Mastering how to create a stack is essential for both your own personal practice and branching into the world of professional calligraphy.

Deliverable

Photograph your stack as well as a few finished pieces so that we can see your work.

Share your work in the project gallery, telling us about:

  • Your calligraphy style
  • Selecting paper and ink
  • Any obstacles you faced
  • How you feel now that it's done!

Keep in mind that you may not want to post photos of real addresses so include a few fake envelopes in your stack so that you can show us the entire thing.
