1. About This Class: Hello everyone. So welcome to our festival, flowers and vintage water color class. I'm your instructor, Jenny Flores on this course. I will be sharing with you the secrets, tips, and process that you can apply in creating a beautiful faster flower composition. We will learn the right tools that you should use in painting pastel flowers. I'll be sharing the recipes, secrets in mixing some vintage vessel Jones. And you will learn how to paint expressive and dramatically leaves fillers diagnosis and of course, roses. At the end of this course we will meet painting three framework decomposition that you guys can surely hang in the walls of your home. As a bonus, we are going to have a giveaway at the end of this lecture. So I'm excited to see your work. I know you guys are very excited to do so pick up your brush and let's get started. 2. Materials Needed: I would be using bow home. So this is about the verb. Then by seven, then 0.2 by seven in size, a 100 percent cotton acid fee and in rough texture. So another option if you don't have this kind of favorite is the Fabriano artistic girl. It's also a 100 percent cotton, good friends with fine green. So if you are looking for cheaper funds, you can by canceling month vial or Fabriano 25 percent cotton or account back. There are good but cheap alternatives. Please do not use this kinds of paper for our glass. It can be used for the drills, but not for the final project. So for the brushes, I would ask you to use a round brush in size or size six. Sony are the brands that I will be seeing that. So all of these are from filbert brush, the limited, this one as a silver black velvet insights. If this is so good. In size 6, this is my new favorite, which is the golden natural blend from sober rationing with it as well. And this one is a synthetic brush, which is called Silver crystal. So all of these are from Silver Brush limited. So for the demo I will be using this and this, but you can just use a size six if you do not have sizing, you can also use psi spent if you have. For the brush, we also need brushes in phase two. So I have silver black velvet and go. So you can also use sciences 000, 000, 000, 000, R1 or sites one for the details. So either due to triple 0 or either six up to 10. So these are the brushes that we need for our desks. Aside from those, we also need three cups of water. So this 11, the reason why we need to do instead of two is because we are going to dip our brush based on their color family. So this one is foreign to greens and yellows. This is where the reds and pinks and browns, and this one is for blue, purple, and green. So the reason why we don't want to mix those colors is because we are avoiding that the water it would be muddy. Because what do other means? Muddy beam. For this class you also need this should be pruned or a dog. So whatever is available for you. I am, I'm going to use this recurrence. We also need mixing balance, so I am using as mixing palette, but you can use the back of your case if you have. And you can also use plastic mixing balance. I just prefer you seeing on ceramic mixing pilots because things can easily be applied in ceramic mixing, but it's comparing two plastic balance. 3. Colors Suggested: So these are the colors that we need for our class. First, we need some ultramarine. So any brand of ultramarine is okay. If you are using the jello, you can use light or ultra marine life. If you're already using dangerous means, you can use French ultramarine. If you're you've seen Xin Han and use both remain. There are also other alternating shades from White Nights, synonym year, slinky, or to other brands which you can use for. Thinks we need either Bordeaux, quinacridone and permanent magenta or red violet, or any shade that is similar to this shapes. So for the yellow, we need yellow ocher or yeah, that will occur number boom, again, whichever is available for you. For the Drupal, we need any shade though. So what I have here is carbo, solo violin and dioxazine violet. So any irregular purple is enough. Now this one is important. You need a Van Dyke brown. So any brand of Van Dyke brown is okay whether it's Winsor and Newton Magellan Mission Gold, Xin Han Daniel Smith, swimming case and no year and mean, as long as you have a Van Dyke brown, this is a must for our class. I'm now there are a must for our class is a shade of gray. So it's okay if you use other shade of gray, but for me and for this class, I would mostly be using the Vickery from Mitchell. But you can also use green from the snip. So this is another mass have. So you'd also need a shade of red. So I'm using perylene green, but you can use any shade of red from any brand. And I'm also using perylene maroon from Magellan, Mission Gold. This one is optional. We won't be using this smart. So it's okay if you don't have a perylene maroon on your violet, but if you have a budget and if you have this, please, please use it. So another must have is a shade of white. So I'm using Chinese white from Mission Gold. This is trends, a bit of transparent and shape of wife. So another must-have, if all the green, I will be using olive green from both shin hand and mid yellow mission goal. So some of my feeds are already transferred on this balance, so I don't have them instruments. This are dumbest to have veins. But if you have this one, this is undersea green from Daniel Smith. Please use this also. If you have. Another optional is potters pink, the nose Smith. Another option is above, maybe knew from the new Smith and Naples, yellow from the genus name. So those are the colors that we need for our class. 4. Color Recipe: Green and Beige: So for mixing colors, these are the two colors that are very important for our class. First is Van Dyke brown. Vendor grounds are very important for our class because they don't down the colors. So if we have bright colors like bright pink or bright yellow, mixing it with Van Dyke brown will meet down the color. The other important color is gray. So it could be great. Id num or a D v3, or VFB actually. So Greece are very useful for rare glad, because they are the ones that make our colors opaque. So what is opaque colors? So when you pick up your tubes, you will see this symbol. This symbol means transparency. So if your watercolor has black square or triangle sometimes, that means that your watercolor is opaque. It means that it's not transparent if the square or triangle is not filled with glad, that means the daughter color is transparent. So again, going back to agree, gray mix are what their color opaque. That is why we needed for our class. So these two important colors will make our vintage pastel colors. Now let us go to actual mixing. The first color that we will be mixing is not actually a PESTEL color. Political added initially used for leaves, and it's called onreceive green. So if you have an undersea green from the new Smith, you can skip this part. But if you don't go and watch it for those who don't have undersea green. We can actually mix this sheep. All we need to do is to combine some of the regular colors that we have and then mix it and we will arrive on this beautiful shade of green. So we can create undersea green by mixing olive green when they brown, yellow ocher, and ultramarine. Note though that although some of the colors have same means, they have different sheets, so be careful with that. So this one is olive green from shin head and this one as olive green from it, yellow. So now let's go and start mixing colors. I will be using olive green from yellow, and yellow ocher from Ms. Yellow, French ultramarine from the Neil Smith and Van Dyke brown for Ahmed Yellow. So let's try it. As you can see, it doesn't resemble with Andrea. See, great. So I have to add some more after colors. Mixing colors is a Td, sorry, you have to do a lot of trial and error is. But what I like about mixing colors is, along the way you will discover some shapes that we don't usually use. Yet. They are very, very beautiful and you can add them on your ballot. So these are happy accidents that a really, really love every time, every x scholars. So I think we got it. So this one is the mex version of under receding and this one is the original. Sometimes you will not get exactly the shape. That is because of course, there are formulas and pigments that are not present on the colors that you use to mix the sheep? Well, it's important if you get the essence of the color and not exactly machine. So yeah, this is how we combine colors for this evening. And now let's go to our next color, which is the no-slip buff titanium. Again, if you have this color on your palette already, you don't have to mix this. But if you don't feel free to watch this x, x2. So both they build new is more of a cliche. The way I usually use this whenever I paint white flowers or white flowers are not actually white, white, off-white or creamy white. So I use buff titanium to add depth on my white flowers. So here are the colors that we need in order to create a wolf dating you. First is Chinese way, and then second is they disagree. And finally, yellow ocher. I will be using techniques like Davies gray and yellow ocher number two from Isabella. So yes, Chinese y. And then they disagree. And last is yellow ocher. Oops, I think they added a lot of yellow ocher here. So I might add some more of David's screen and Chinese file. I guess we can try this, watch it now. So let's see. This is a beautiful color and I think we've got it on first track. So this is the expression, and let's check what this does save the original state Daimyo. So yes, we got it on the first try. It's very easy. But sometimes of course you have to try and try again. And I hope you guys got it too. And their first try. 5. Color Recipe: Purple and Periwinkle: Our next call her, It's the shadow violet from Daniel Smith. So shadow violet is one of my favorite colors, cropping of Smith and medulla as well as again, although they have the same name, my jello and Daniel Smith have different shade for shadow violet. Let's take a look at it. This is shadow violet from the Neil Smith. And this one is from each other. They're both called shadow violet, but as you can see, the one from Daniel Smith as a bit of sepia ish said. While for medulla it has a bit modulus shade, which is a soul so far from the shade of thing else. But again, they are both called shadow violet. So be careful when picking your colors because same color names doesn't mean same color shape. So let's try mixing shadow violet from the Ingo Smith. So for instance, being bended round and then ultramarine. We also need red violet or connection on permanent magenta and SAP. Yeah, so I don't have sepia onto edges, have it on my palette. So let's try to mix it. First, I'll mix sepia and then violet brown. And then I will add a little of quinacridone, permanent magenta, and ultramarine. Let us mix it. As you can see, I have created a beautiful shade of violet. But I don't think that this is the same as shadow violet of female Smith already. So I think I have to add some more sap via, and more. Ultimately. I think we have to mix it again for me to say. So again, it's not yet the same. The adding some more colors. I think we're almost there. I think we got it. So dry, we finally got it. So this is our shadow violet mix. So let's clean a Bessel mix of shadow. I'll just adding a little bit of water. And let's also add a vestal next under CP. And so I'll be adding a little bit of water on both IVC green and book. They didn't mix. So the next color that we will be mixing esco, fairy wings. So it's about their blue see, a very beautiful file other solution and we will be using ultimately mean. They disagree and Chinese white for it is. So let's mix Ultramarine and then the less gray slide. So this is very owing. It's a beautiful blue same for me. 6. Color Recipe: Pink, Suede and more: Now our next color is called swayed. And we'll, we'll be mixing Cheney swipe the risk-free, and Van Dyke brown. So if you're wondering, what if I don't want to mix this color? What if I just want to buy or shaded periwinkle or a shade of suede. There is a palette called vintage pastel from Art Philosophy. And they have this beautiful vintage Fastow colors. This is swayed. Now, go to our next color, which is buffers pink. So this Calder is from the Neil Smith and you really have to learn out that makes this one because this is so expensive. So it is better to mix this one instead. So here's how we mix it will combine Davis gray, where DO or red, violet or quinacridone, permanent magenta, any shade of thread set via and Van Dyke brown. So let's mix. I'll be adding some more of the colors that we used earlier because as they will never achieve that shade with this amount of bread that they've put in. And there we go. I think we finally did theirs as potters, pink. So let's watch it here. Next color is light. Yellow are bestseller yellow. So for this color we have yellow ocher. And Dave screen. This is my light yellow sheet. Now next is green. So it's a pastoral glued in cheat. And I will be mixing ultramarine, the vestry and olive green. I'll be adding more over main and the risk. So the finished part would be more obvious. And they occur. Actually when you're first swatch it, it wouldn't be a little dark or a little muddy sometimes that way it's a beautiful color with finally. So the next color that we have is Fastow terracotta. So we will be mixing orange and David scree. It's a beautiful Bastille terracotta. If you want to make this a little darker, you just need to add orange and a little bit of Van Dyke brown. This will be the mix we need if you want to create at they're called them mix. So if you're planning to paint pot, this is perfect. So usually when we buy watercolor in orange shade, it's too bright, so you need to make this the color with this. The next mixture that we have is lavender or light violet. So all we need to have is irregular violet. So I will be using reversal violet. So you just need to mix it with Davis screen. For me to said he said This is another shaded to create it from this next. Sure. It's not for me to thinking that it's the same as shadow violet. No, it's not so different. And next color is faster app already. So we have olive green and yellow ocher. So this is the pastoral Apple and Google Scholar. Light pink, red, violet, violet brown and the escape. It's a little bit darker and stronger compared to speak. So from the mixtures that we did earlier, you can create a beautiful ballad like this. You can also do this one, which is a very nice Bastille, odd dome-shaped, are this one. So you can combine a lot of beautiful colors and create your own palette from the college that we've mixed a year. Also from the happy accidents that you have created. It can produce another shape. So it is a very, very beautiful process and all you have to do is enjoy it. So thank you guys for watching this video and see you on our next topic. 7. Brush Strokes: So let's go to our next topic, which is brushstrokes. But before we proceed to that, I want to guide you on how you should really hold your brush. So there's actually no right or wrong on holding your brush as long as you're comfortable. But as for me, this is how I hold my brush. I hold it like a pen. But when they need to remove some stress on the tip of my brush, like example, a really need to create a very thin line. I use my pinky finger at rest it on my paper so that the tip of my brush, We live and my stroke would be very thin. So the first stroke that we will be doing are the thin strokes. So when doing thin strokes, we are just using the tip of our brush. For me. It's easier to create thin strokes when your stroke is going up, like calligraphy. So in calligraphy, pen strokes are done by doing upwards through. Remember, you will only use the tip of your brush. So the next stroke that we will be doing is that the extra, OK, so for this thick stroke, you just need to add some stress on your brush. And remember, for this stroke, your brush is basing your left side. So the third stroke that we need to do is the flat strokes. So for this one, you are just as F highlighting something and your brush is facing the one something, anything that is in front of you. So that's the clue for flats through. Now remember, this is our first row, second stroke entered through. So we will be combining this slopes. And the first combination that we have is thin and thick stroke. So stroke number 1 and stroke number two. So it's like this. Then. And then slowly release your brush and then lift it slowly and then slowly release it again in the thin. So the next combination that we have is the first and less through. So it's like this. Then slowly release it and then lift. So a lot of my students are really having a hard time on this stroke. So this is quite a hard stroke, but it is a very Ray importance through because it will help you create your petal. So that is it for the first part of our brush stroke. See you on the second part. So let's continue doing our strokes. So for our next stroke, it's a combination of thick and thin strokes also, but it's still tweak. You have to, I think that is a little curve. And then lift it, asks you remove your brush so thick and then release the curve, release. So if your stroke is so dry, so sometimes it happens, you just need to dip your brush again as long as your first stroke is wet, you can redo it so you can read touch it. So now let's do the opposite side. So thick curve and release. And don't be pressured. This curve or this stroke doesn't have to be perfect. You just need to do it as S, S, it is disrupted, but it doesn't have to be perfectly curved stroke or something. So our next strokes are thin stroke. So again, only the tip of your brush will move here. So it is just as if you're writing a letter C. Again, it doesn't have to be perfect, don't be pressured. So let's do it on different islands. They're extra, so I'm different angles. If you put a little stress, so you will see that it's a bit thick. It's okay. So the next one is C stroke again, but there is a combination of thin and thick strokes here. So it's then release and lift. Again, curve, sees through it so it's not perfect. So for this stroke, your brush is just racing your papers. So it's as if writing something. Let's try to do it on different angles and different reactions. And by the way, you can turn your paper. So it would be easier sometimes to turn your paper than QH strokes in different angles. So it's okay. I usually up until now, turn my paper when painting. Now let's try to create this stroke in small, medium size. And let's also try on different angles. Now our next stroke is a bit small compared to our previous strokes. So you may use your smaller brush here. But if we have a very pointy size six brush, you can also use that. So this one is like this. So just small cease, just the tip of your brush and the width on different directions. So the next stroke is something like that also, but there is an edge. So it's like letting v. And it's okay if some of the parts of your stroke has thicker strokes compared to other parts. So as you can see here, my strokes are not similar with each other. Now let's proceed to more advanced roots. So the first rook is thin, thick, thin, but this one is a bit of diagonals through. You have to make your stroke a little bit curl. Fan the fan. So next is you will add SE stroke below your first stroke. So it will look like this. If there is a space, just fill it with another stroke. Again, remember, there should not be perfect. And from this, we will add some random thin strokes. So thin, thick, thin, thick, thin and thin strokes. Okay? So let's try it once again. Right? Now, another stroke is the one that we did earlier, that partner, and then add some thin strokes around it. So these are the strokes that we will be needing to create our roses. 8. Water and Color Ratio: So hi everyone, welcome to this topic. And on this topic we are going to discuss the water and color ratio. So I usually have three different kinds of water and color ratio, namely butter, milk, and D. So this topic is very important because this will determine the amount of water that you will put on your, that you will mix on your colors so that you can create in ice and beautiful shade of the color that you want. Okay, so for this demo, I'm going to use this beautiful shade of color green, and it's called green earth by White Nights, nav sky up Electra. So I'm just gonna put a little bit of this color on my palette. And then I'm gonna get my brush. So this is the brush that I will be using for this demo. It's the silver black velvet size eight. So I'm just going to wet my brush and get a concentrated amount of my color. And this is what we do in, but they're mixture. So as you can see, it's very pigment that and the color is very vibrant. Now if we want to do milk mixture, will just going to add a lot more water on our color. And this is what it will look like. Still the color is very visible, yet there's an equal amount of water. And so this mixture is worker E, but still pigment that. Now if we add more water in this mixture, we're going to get the team mixture. So the team mixture is a very, very light version of the color that you want. So this is usually used on fillers or leaves or anything that you want to look as if it's on the back part of your reading. So let's say on this painting, this is how we use the buttermilk and team mixture. Say in here, as you can see in this. This means objects which are the dahlias and roses. We use mixture of butter and milk mixture and those which are on the side and which seems to be on the background, we use the mixture. So in here, you will see that we use different, this three different water and color ratio. And again, you have to familiarize yourselves with these CI, whether in color a show, because it is very important to create a very harmonious and complementing watercolor creation. Okay, So again, what their milk and team extra. Now I'll see you on our next topic. 9. Watercolor Techniques: Hello everyone, So welcome to a new topic. And on this topic we are going to discuss all the for and border color techniques that you have to learn in order to create a beautiful watercolor bouquet. So these techniques are the wet-on-wet technique, wet on dry, wet on call and lifting technique. Okay. So now let's discuss. So the first watercolor technique is the wet-on-wet technique. So for the wet-on-wet technique, we are going to pay the surface first and then while it's still wet, we are going to add another layer. And here's how we do it. So I added the first layer. And while it's still wet, I'm going to get a purple. I'm going to paint three lines on top of this one. And as you can see, the effect that it did was the tree lines that I added were the Solve. And it did not meet a very clear three lines. And that is because the first layer is still wet when we added the second layer. Now for the wet on dry technique, we are going to paint the second layer when the first layer is already dry, as you can see here, already painted or first layer, and it's already dry, completely dry. And since it's already dry, I am going to load my brush with purple again and I'm going to paint some lines on top of my dry surface. And as you can see here, the four lines that I made that not the soul. And it was very clean and clear. And that is because the first layer has already been dried off before I painted the second layer. Now I want you guys to remember that both of these techniques are very important in painting a bouquet. And they may be different, but they both have characteristics that are important in creating a harmonious and loose floral painting. So here's how I use this two techniques on my paintings. So for this sample, like here on the rose bud, I use the wet-on-wet technique and painting the leaves. So I think that the green Earth first and then while the green earth layer is still wet, I did it over with sepia mixed with green earth. So the two shades of green mix well together. And I also apply the same technique for the rose bud and the leaves. So while the Rose was still wet, I added the leaves and it made a beautiful bleeding effect. Now for the wet on dry technique, I used it on this part. So as you can see, the branch was not dissolve and it did not mix on the leaf because when I painted the branch, the leaf behind it was already dry. So that is how I applied the wet-on-dry technique. Now that we're done with wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry. Let's go to our third technique, which is the wet on cool technique. So what cool technique is quite the same as the wet on wet technique. So first you are going to apply the first layer, but in here you will let it dry a little bit, not the wet that the water is still flowing and not too dry, that the water is completely dried up. And then when the mixture is close to getting dry but not too flowy anymore, that is when you will apply your next layer. If you will take a look at this one, you will see that it is kind of similar to wet on dry. But if you will take a closer look, you will see that it's bleeding a little bit, not leading as much as the wet on dry technique, but it's still bleeding. And the beautiful thing about the wet on called technique is you can soften the edge of your second-year. All you have to do is get some water and load your brush with a little bit of water and then put it on the edge of your second strokes. Here's how I use it for our bookie. So in here in the dahlia and under rules, especially I use too wet and cold technique. Now the next watercolor technique is the lifting technique. For the lifting technique, you can actually do it on wet-on-wet or while the first layer is still wet. And you can also do it while the first layer is on a cold state. So when you do the lifting technique, you are going to get a small tissue. So like this one, and then Scratch, scratch the first layer. And for the lifting technique, I usually use it on correcting errors like in here. So if you accidentally created a blog using the lifting technique is the perfect solution for that. Just make sure that the layer that you're going to live is still wet. Alright, so those are the four important water color techniques that you have to learn. And please make sure that you will familiarize yourselves with those techniques because they are all important in creating a beautiful bouquet. Now, see you on our next topic. 10. Painting Fillers: So for the first tailor, it is very easy. We will just be creating a small flower. And it looks like an m money. So it is a five or four petaled flower. So the first row to be doing is the thick and then curve and then live. So it is as if you're creating alley. So for the first battery in, do it at Milk mixture. And after being theme, that first stroke, which looks like a leaf, you will be adding some thin strokes around it. So for the second petal, it would be nice if you will use P mixture for this one so that there will be variation between the phrase that though and the second bet though. So don't forget to add random thin strokes around the petals to add depth. So far. Don't forget that though. I will be going back to milk mixture and then for the trip that I am going back to the mixture. So the reason why I'm doing this is because I want to add variation to there would be dead and highlights on my flower. So while it's still wet, you can add some milk mixture on the team mixture petals, and then that's it. You can now add your second flower. So your battles doesn't have to be perfect. They don't need to have a size. And it's actually better if they are not equal. So it would look imperfect. And you know, imperfection is actually very beautiful when painting. Then when you're done with your second flower, you can add your third one so you can create different sizes of the uterus. And that is actually beautiful. And sometimes when your flower is too close to the other flower, some of the petals can meet on completely, so just create half of it as if the other half is behind the better off the other flower. And it's actually better when the fillers are close to each other so that there won't be a lot of spaces in between. So when you're done doing the petals, you can add small leaves around it. So just follow how I did my leaves here. Then when you're done adding leaves, you can now add the center of your flower. So for me when you sing shadow violet am adding yellow ocher at the center of my flower. For the center of the flower, it just thin strokes around the core. So that's it. That's our first filler. So let's go now to our second pillar, which is like a small rose bud. So the first stroke is the mixture and then you just need to create a downstroke so it's like a beam. And then using milk mixture, you will add another stroke. This I did. So you can do this by doing upstrokes. And then for the top portion, you just need to create thin strokes just to create an illusion that there are small petals around it. And while it's still wet, it would be nice to add a stem for your rose bud. So because it's still wet, the color will bleed and it will create a very beautiful effect. Now for a third filler, we will do the bleeding effect that we did on the circle earlier. So we will create some circles and watering mixture. And when we're done we will clear circles. Miss I live. As you can see, the color is bleeding from the butter mixture through the clear circle. Just put it too close to each other so that colors will lead to each other. Now after doing that, we will be connecting the circles using our UMBC being mixture. We will also be adding some small use, but this one is optional. So that's it, that's our failures. You can actually create more fillers out of this three failures. So you just have to be creative. And you know, fillers are small so you really don't have to make it perfect. Cni. Next topic which is nice. 11. Painting Leaves: Now let's go to our next topic, which is leaves. Leaves are very easy, but you can create beautiful art. Griggs wages painting leaves alone. So this is a thin line. And then we will create the curved stroke, the one that we practiced Revere and then gave it a partner. So as you can see, that's so easy. So let's try to create a leaf using a more pigment and shade of blue. So this is another way to create a leaf. This is called a one stroke leaves. So you will just create a fence row and then another stroke which is thick. And then as you remember, we have this kind of real earlier. So this is the application of it. Let's try creating a leaf with a little bit of depth. So create one leaf and while it's still wet, you can add milk mixture on some side of it. So like this. So this is a wet on wet technique. And as you can see, when this one is already dry, this will create a beautiful effect on RDDs. And another kind of leaf, which is actually the same as what we did earlier. But this is a combination of different angled leaf. So first thing you need to do is to create a letter V that is away from each other and then create one stroke in the middle. And this will be your stems. And then from there you will add your leaf. So you can take your papers so that it would be easier for you to add the leaves. So the next leaf that we will be doing is the circular shape leaf. So the first thing, of course, is to create a stem and then for the stroke, we will not lift it, will do the textural, the third stroke and then stop and then give it a partner, and then connect them by doing an overall thought through. So you can also create two leaves beside each other using this kind of fleas. And it would be better if you will use milk mixture for one leaf and then the mixture for the year. So there would be variance. So now let's create some new ideas for the leaves. It is nice for you to do the wet on dry technique. So how do we do that? Phrase is, of course, you let your friends leave day and then you get your detailed brush that could be sized to 0 or even smaller than that, and then create a thin, they dance through in the middle, use butter mixture for the details. Remember, you can only do this when your first stroke is already drain. So there will be no digits on your leave if it's still wet. So you have to let it Dreyfus. There are longer than so they're longer than the ones that we did earlier. So our first leed is eucalyptus. This is how we do it. So first you will create a lot of things through and then just press your brush to create round strokes. So like this. So it's more of really around stroke also. So just familiarize on how we do this. It's like a heart-shaped Bentham. And remember it doesn't have to be equal. So the wine you put on the left side doesn't have to be the same as the one we put on the right side. So you've got to let it dry first and when it's already dry, you can add some details. Let's go proceed to our next. So this one is also eucalyptus, but this one is a dollar version of the eucalyptus. This is a, this has around US. And first of course, you have to create your main stem and then add round leaves around it. Same principle, you have to let it dry first before adding details. So let's go proceed to our third leaf first before adding details. So this one has long leaves and lungs. So first you need to create one thin stroke and then press your brush and then pull it before lifting it up. Now let's go back to our first eucalyptus and add some videos. So I will be using watery mixture for the details and just adding some dark shade of green on the sides. So for the dollar eucalyptus, I will be adding muscle veins inside. So I will be using a detail brush to add thin lanes in the middle. And for the long leaves, I will be using the thin and thick strokes that I did earlier. And I will be putting it in the middle. And that is, it's very loose, so easy, yet so beautiful. See on our next topic, wishes. 12. Painting Dog Rose: Strokes: Okay, so on this part of our class we are going to be a dog rose. So don't, rose looks something like this. Says you can see it has battles and it has a nice core. So if you wanted, a dog grows in a loose way which looks like this, you have to be careful when it comes to waterworks. So you have to familiarize yourself with the amount of water that you put on your brush, as well as the amount of color that you put on your brush. So the best face to put on dots on some edge of your dog rose is when it's still cold. Right? Now let's go and study the basic strokes of adore grows. So I want you guys to choose whatever color you want for your dog rules. So it would be nice to use a basil color, but for this demo, I will be using something a little bit more dark, just so you can see all the things that I do clear. All right, so let's go. So for our first stroke, this is what we need to do. As you can see, it's very easy. By the way, I'm using size eight round brush in here. So you have to do around four to five. That goes like this. And it would be better if you will be using different water in coloration for the color of your choice. And it's also nice if you will, use different sizes for your battles too. So there will be variation. All right, so just keep on practicing the strokes. And later on, I will show you some more strokes that you need to familiarize when it comes to painting the grosses. Alright, so we're done with the base layer of this dog rose. Now I'm going to do another step, but just so you guys can mean more familiar with the strokes. So this time I will be seeing a pink shape. So in here, there I differ in what they are in colored Asia is different what they encoded in Asia. Now since we read flower is a little bit dry already, I'm going to go back to it. So the phase of this red flower is called phase. So it's not too wet, it is, and it's not too dry. Now what I'm going to, what I'm doing here is I'm creating a separation between the petals. So there would be an illusion that some petals are on top of the other one. All right. So I'm spreading some colors that were clot on some areas. Okay. So again, this base is the cold case. It's not too wet and it's not too dry. Now to add a little bit of detail on my dog rose, I will be adding some dots of color. You seeing butter mixture on top and edge portion of my degrowth. So this will add a little bit more details for my flower. So in here I'm just repeating all the procedures that I did on the red rose earlier. So I'm adding dots of colors on the top portion and some edge of my dog grows. And as you can see, it created a very nice effect on a flower. So we are going to eat for these layers to dry first. But for now, since I have a sample that is already dry, I'm going to show you how to create the core, which is the focal point of our dog rules. So in here I will be using size two round brush, but you may use any medium brush. So for the court. Core of a log grows is ClO, so I'm using yellow ocher for this one. So for the core on you have to do is create small dots like this around the center of your bed. So it would be better if your dots are very small and very fine because it will create a very nice effect on your painting. Now after you do the yellow ocher dots, I want to get era amber or yellow ocher mixed with Van Dyke brown too. So that is the second layer of your core and you will create another layer of dots also. Now after that one, I wanted you to create a small circle and the center of your flower. And using yellow ocher again, you will create small lines. So also in here, it would be better if you will be using something that is very, very thin there. So you can create a small line. The smaller, the better your array. Now since this flower doesn't have a defined Separation of that Dulles. And what I'm gonna do is I'm going to get a butter mixture of the color that I used here. And then I'm going to separate each petal. So one, see you created a separation. It would be better to soften the edge of that separation by loading your brush with water. And I'm rushing the stroke that you have created. So this is how we do it. Now once your yellow ocher lines are dry, it would be nice to add another layer of lines using raw umber or again, yellow ocher mixed with Van Dyke brown. For the last detail of our core, it would be better add raw umber on some side of your small circle. Okay, so this is the final product of our dog rose, and I want you guys to do it again on the project that you're creating right now. Oh, before I forget, it would be better to add leaves on your dog roofs because again, without leaves or flowers won't look very realistic and happy. Alright, so let's go back to the two flowers that we did earlier and let's add the details on their core. 13. Painting Dog Rose: Details: Now since this flower is already dry, what I'm gonna do first is I'm going to separately that bad thoughts by adding a buffer mixture of the color that I use. So we're going to do the bottom, extract less, loading our brush with water and softening the edge case. So on the red flower we're just going to repeat what we did on the pink flower. So the layer is already dry and now we're going to proceed with the core of our pink flower. So I'm going to get the yellow ocher and my size two brush. And I'm going to create the small dots around my core. Now this time I'm going to add the small circle at the center of my flower. And this bargain might be thing. I loaded my brush with Ron Bird and adding dots on my car again. Thanks to add that tiny lines from my dots to make big circle. Using real number, I am adding dots to this circle of my flower, and we are almost done. So I'm just going to add leaves around my dog grows. And also we add a, another shade of green to give a debt to my leaps. Sd, bass, raw, umber lines. Before we forget. All right, so we are done with our dog rose. So dog rose flowers may be simple, but they create a very nice painting when you create the composition. So look at this one. It's a very nice composition and it looks so vintage. And I love the color that is here. So here's another one that I did earlier. So this one is a combination of dog rose and my rows version to you, which you guys will study later. So that is it for our dog grosses lecture. And I'll see you on our next topic. 14. Rose Beginner Version: So before we proceed and keeping actual rule says, I want you guys to practice some grills first. So the first rule that we have is a spiral shaped rail. First, we need to create more of this spiral shape and asked to go out of the circle, your strokes are getting thicker, so you're putting some more pressure on your brush. So let's take a look at it on this demo. And then when you All right, do you reach your desired size? You closing. Now for the second part of this drill, I want you guys to remember this rule. But once in a while. So that this our first rule, Dutch, once in a while. What does it mean to touch once in a while? So on our first spiral drill, we tried to maintain the whitespace between our stroke. But this second drill that mean have, I want you guys to lead to a stroke? Some of them pretty useful. So let's check our demo on how I did it. Again, I still want you to maintain whites basis. But for this second real, I also want you to practice the once in a while, but ruined. So before we proceed on our third spiral sheep, I want you guys to practice this iss strokes. So this are thin, thick, thin strokes that are shaped like leprosy. So this C strokes will be used for our osis null. Check on how I did it. Now let's do the three spiralis shape, which is composed of C strokes. For me. Again, I'm applying a once in a while touch and also leaving whitespaces on some parties. But for this third spiral shape, I want you guys to add another rule and that is called hallway. So I want you guys to how the C stroke, what does it mean to have to hug C strokes? So this is the wrong stroke that some of my students did before. After creating a CSE through the second stoke that they need. And still far from the first row, which is not correct because you have to put it beside the first stroke still. That is why I want you to hug it so that the spiral shape will be in theme. And it's easier for you to create that once in a while loop rule. And again, let's go back to C strokes. So be good. Practice it again. So finally we are here and doing our first type of rows. So this is the ECS kind of froze. And this is commonly used by a lot of artists, events, the professional artists, they use this kind of flow sometimes. So this is how we do it. We do the core first. So it's composed of C strokes but are thinner, so you should use your detailed brush afford a core. Se go out of this circle, your strokes are getting thicker. And so you're putting more pressure on your brush and you should not care at all in the annuity or strokes, but also on the tonal values of your color. As you go on this circle, the color that you're using shouldn't be lighter, so you must be adding more water on your color. Like here. I use a very, very big meant that mixture for decor here. It's mother mixture. And when he got out of the circa, I use milk mixture. So you can also use milk or like what they use, but that are due milk. So to add more depth on the rows, we will be adding water mixture on the color. So again, this should be done while the rows is still wet. And that's it. That's the first kind of froze that we have and see you on our next topic. 15. Rose Intermediate Version: Next rows, which is the second version that we have for this workshop. It's also kind of common and some of my artists friends usually use this. And this one is also composed of C strokes, but it's more defined. This is what it looks like. It's also composed of C strokes, which is thin, thick, thin. But as they released the thin part, they don't put so much pressure. That is why it's more fine compared to the first rules that we had earlier. Also same with rows that we had earlier. It has a very defined core and we use the detail brush for the core. Unless your round brush has a very, very pointed tip, I suggest that you use detailed brush for the poor. And then same principle as we go out of the circle, the strokes are getting, the girl color that we're using is getting lighter. But this is the addition of thing that they have for this kind of rules. Though we go, I see this circle. So your strokes are getting bigger. And when you reach the last two parts of this circle, I want you to add a wiggle on the C strokes, so thin. And then release just like how I do it here. And when you think that your rose has a lot of whitespaces or it's too flat, I want you guys to add a darker mixture on top of that roofs. So for this one, I'm adding butter mixture on the core and some more button and mixture around the color of my petals. Again, I'm doing this while my petal is still wet. It's okay if your core is already dry, That's okay. But make sure that the petals are still wet when you add water mixture on the color. So that's, that's our second rows. And so before you leave your rows, I want you guys to add leaves around it. Because again, even if your rows is so beautiful, it will not look like roofs without limbs because generally loose floral roses don't really look exactly like actual rules, but leaves make them more rosy. So I want you guys to always add leaves when you paint or roofs. That's our second kind of rows and see you on the third. And my favorite kind of rules. 16. Rose Advanced Version: So let's go to our next topic which is roses again, but version the, so this version is my version of creating rules. Over the years, I have developed my style and painting roses and credibly business my current style. And I am very happy to share with you guys. So first thing I do when painting this kind of rows is to add a lot of details on my core. When a pink color, I really use a very pointed brush. So I'm currently using golden naturals, long round size then here. But you can use any detailed brush for your core. So as you can see and creating small Curry details. And as I go out, I am adding a little bit coin the strokes which has kind of see strokes but has a point. And then before adding another larger stroke, I am already adding butter mixture. So the reason why I'm already adding butter mixture instead of waiting for everything to finish this because I want to add it while it's still wet. So there are papers that can dry easily. And again, some of the details that I want to add should be added when the stroke is still wet. And so I want to secure the wetness of my stroke before creating your strokes. That's why I'm adding this right now. And again, I say go out, may see strokes is getting bigger and I'm adding random thin strokes around my CSE weeks. Now as I go out and creating this through this diagonals thin and thick strokes and I'm adding strokes below it to create a wider petals sheet. So this is part of the drill that we practiced earlier. So if you miss this one, you can always go back. Who are drill Spark. And now I'm adding more random thin strokes before I finally close my rose by adding messy leaves. So why do I add messy leaves? I want my leaves to be messy because it creates the sharp leaves effect. Row says in reality it doesn't have a soft leaves. They have very, very sharp edge leaves. And I want to add that idea on my loose rose. That is why instead of creating a very nice and soft edge leaves, I'm adding this messy thorny leaves. And instead of leaving it flat and single colored, I'm adding this Van Dyke brown on my knees while it's still wet in order to adapt on my leaves. As you can see, even if I have done a lot of works on my leaves and roses already, the colors on the leaves still bleeds on my flower. And that is because the paper that I'm using is a 100 percent cotton. I'm using bow home to you. So when you are using 100% cotton paper, your paints don't dry off easily. And so you have a lot, a lot, a lot of time to work on leading techniques. So you can do a lot of bleeding techniques. You have a lot of time to do bleeding techniques when you are using a 100 percent cotton paper. That's why I really, really love recommend using 100% cotton paper. Now to divide everything that I've discussed earlier. So first I did the core and this is how we do core. It's random credit and strokes, but they are close to each other. So avoid doing this thin strokes. What a lot of whitespaces. Let's okay, but it would be better to create random curly thin strokes that are very, very, very close to each other. Of course, leave whitespace it. The next stroke that they did is the C stroke, which is V stroke. So after knowing that I've added the butter mixture, the end, I added it on the color. So this is the color part that I'm talking about earlier. Now for the last row, that aid did, I did that diagonal, thin, thick, thin stroke. So it looks like letter N and the added a C stroke below it. So it looks like a dog wing or something. So it looks like this and they added a lot of friends then stroke on that petal stroke. So again, this is how I did it. And everything is just composed of these strokes. If you're having a hard time doing this, just go back on the drills video that we had earlier and refresh your memory on how we do this through. It's not for me to say. Again, let's try doing the version. €2. For this arose with the public. With typography. For me to serve you. We've decoded. For me to serve you. It's not for me to serve. You would get folded edge again. With the problem. It's hard for me to set. So these are my two row says, LA hope you guys got my notes here. Vintage Dog Roses Painting: Hello everyone, So welcome to our first final project. And on this final project we are going to be this beautiful dog rose composition. So I really loved this composition because this is inspired by some vintage postcards I found on the Internet. And I know you guys will surely enjoy painting this composition. So without further ado, let's start painting our Doug Rose composition. For our first stroke, we are going to create the Bethel of our first dog grows. So for reference, you can check our final project on the project section of this class. So anyway, our first flower will be placed in here. And I am using swayed that, which is the color that we mixed earlier for our flowers on this project. So I am going to create the petals in different water and color ratio. Now after creating our first flower, I am going to create another one on the lower left side of my paper and another one on the lower right side. So again, we will be using different what their end coloration for each petal. It would be better if your brush is loaded with lots of water, so the color will be flowy and we can create the neat deals. So speaking off the days after creating your petals, once it's already in the code stage, we are going to create dots on some edge over bed, those like this. And we're just going to continue doing this same strategy for the risk of our flowers. Now while waiting for our petals to dry, I'm going to add some leaves around our flowers so they will lead. Okay, so I'm going to mix my undersea green when Van Dyke brown, but you may use your own mixture of colleagues to add some details and that I am going to add a little bit of dark brown, which is fine like route on some areas. And also it would be better if you will use different what their income, their ratio for the greens that you're using for the leaves. Just so there would be an English on that suddenly SAR and the back part and solve I in front. So on this stage of our painting, we are going to add smaller leaves. So all you have to do is create a stem and then add small leaves. I want you guys to be free and lot follow everything that I'm doing because I'm sure the spaces that we have made is quite different. It would be better if you follow your own heart and leaves wherever you want, just control yourself and nowhere to stop. Okay? So I'll keep on adding leaves, keep on filling those spaces. So there is still some awkward spaces in getting my composition. So I will be adding more leaves. After that. We are going to proceed with the details of our dog gross. Okay, so I think we are done with the leaves. So now let's go to our first dog rose and add some details. So the first EDO that I will be adding is the separation between the petals. So I'm loading my number 2 round brush with a book or mixture of the color that I use and I will be separate thing the petals. As I've shared with you last time. After putting the water mixture, you have to load your brush with water and soften the edge of the stroke that the half gain that just do the same for the rest of the flowers. Since we are done the way that the devs, what we're going to do right now as the course. So I am using yellow ocher and I'm adding dots. Unlike core. After adding the core, what we're gonna do is we will add this small circle in the middle part of our flower. And to connect the small ducts to the circle, we will be creating lines. So again, make sure that your lines are thin because it would look nice if their thing. So I am doing this same procedure for there S over flowers. And now I am transferring to Romberg. So K thing that's again missing number. And of course after dots who'll be creating thin lines using raw umber as well. And for the final leap data, we will be adding a little bit of shade on our circle by using the raw umber. So I'm just repeating all the procedures that I did from the first flower until we finish all our dog Croesus. By this stage of your composition, I'm sure you're seeing the beautiful effect of the details that we have created. And I'm sure that you're seeing how read the full your creations are right now. Pastel Roses Painting: Initial Strokes: Hello everyone. So welcome to the second final project of this class. And on this final project, we are going to create this beautiful rose composition with fillers. So I know you guys are excited and let's start. So our first task is to create the core of our first rows. So I am using a facile think mixture for this color. And you may use anything, but it would be better to use something that is Bastille as well. So after creating the core, what we're gonna do is load our brush with water and soften the edge of the last stroke for our core. Then after that I'm switching to bigger brush to create bigger strokes. So all you have to do here is apply everything that you've learned on our class right here when it comes to painting roses. So you may use the other type of process, Intermediate 1 or the beginner's version of roses. But for this, I am using the version three, which is the advanced version of fluids roses. Now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to create the unique strokes for our advanced rows, which is something like a dove. So I know you guys are already familiar with this one. Just keep on creating your strokes and Dell you reach your desired size. Be careful because he might overdo euros and it might get too big. Okay, so he should know when to stop. Now that I am done with my first rows, what I'm gonna do is I'm going to add some leaves using this shade of green. This is a mixture of undersea green and Van Dyke. Well, now I'm adding different shapes of leaves on different areas and I'm adding a trach now, which is the perfect time because my rows is still in the cold state, so there would be bleeding effect on my rose and my emails. I am going to add some dots of darker shade of green to my leaves to give an effect that there are shadows. Okay, so we're done with our first flower now we are going to create another rose on the lower right side of our paper. And this time I'm going to use an off-white or creamy white color. So again, same procedure, focus on your core. Create a very detailed core using your smaller brush, which could be sized to our size four. And then after that we are going to soften the edge of the last strokes for our core. If the shape of your rose is a little bit different than mine, that's totally fine. What is important is your whole composition is a little bit similar to my cation. Alright, so keep on creating arrows until you reach your desired size. And I am done with my zeros. I will be adding some leaves. But, oops, as you can see here, the color bleed too much. And that is because maybe my last battle is too wet. What I'm gonna do here is I'm going to lift it using a clean brush and remove some excess color. Same thing as dawn I did earlier. I added some darker shades of green on some AS off my leaves. Now thanks to add smaller leaves. So I took my brush and Kd that a smaller, a small stem and then add that smaller leaves. So this time what we're gonna do is we are going to add some fillers. And I will be using a mutant shade of purple, which is something like this. You may use any color that you think is compatible to the colors that you use for you. But for me, I will be seeing this beautiful shade of purple. After adding your fillers that we are going to connect these, you're seeing a shade of green and then add that a little bit off small leaves on some AES. And then to finalize our fillers, we are going to add something on the course. So I will be seeing yellow ocher and using my size two brush, I am going to add neat Dallas on the court of my filler. 19. Pastel Roses Painting: Details: All right, It's time to add some details on the other side of our painting. So I turn my painting just so it would be easier for me to being fillers on the lower left side. So same procedure, I am going to use this beautiful shade of purple. And in painting filler, just like what we give studied, we are going to use different water and color ratio for each petal, just so there would be variation and there would be a little bit of detail on our filler. So after k they are filler, we are going to connect it using some greens again and add some tiny leaves. Okay? So same thing, we are going to add something on the core of our failure. So you seeing yellow ocher, we are going to create some tiny lights. So our painting is slowly coming to life and I hope yours is looking good SLL. So basically our painting is almost done, probably 90 percent that. So what we're gonna do now is we will be adding some leaves around our painting just so we can fill the empty spaces on some areas. So I want you guys to do the same thing also. I want you to mix small leaves and big leaves. And I want you to use different shades of green, different coloration of the color of your choice. And just enjoy the process with colors, play with water, and have fun. Now one of my favorite needles when painting a bouquet is adding small branches like this. And I want you guys to create the same. So my painting looks complete now, but they feel like I should add some big leaves on the top part. So that's what I'm going to do now. So all the things that I, after this one is solid. Some things to fail the empty space of my painting. All right, so last sleep, I promise this is the last. Okay, so I think our painting is now complete. So I hope you guys were able to follow along and I'm excited to see your final project related to our second final project. Expressive Roses and Dog Roses: Initial Strokes: Hello everyone. So we are down to our last final project. And I'm very, very excited because this third final project on this workshop is my favorite. So this is a combination of our roses version three, which is the advanced one, and our dog roses. So what are you waiting for? Pick up your brush and let's get started. Now, as per usual, we were start impeding her dog roses. And again, in painting dog grosses, you will mix different water and color ratio for each of your petals. So on this dog roses, I am using a light shade of pink, which is a little bit of a flash shade. So again, you may use any color that you want, what it would be better if you will use a Bastille color. So just continue creating your dog row says, and in here I am adding some details on some parts of my dog rose. I am going to let this layer of my dog grow strive for us. Now. I am going to add another one. So this one is and creamy white color. And again, you may use any color that you like. So my dog roses are already dry, actually in cold state. So now I am adding a butter mixture on the spaces between the petals, so there would be a separation for each Bethel. So as usual, we are loading our brush with clean water to soften the edge of the separation that the FBA dead. So I'm gonna do the same too. I think Doug Rose and I hope you guys are following our steps. We are now done with the base layer off our dog rose, and for now we are going to leave these two flowers and proceed in painting. Our row says, so again for R0 says we are gonna do the advanced version, but again, you may use other versions of roses that you would like to pay. So for the rows, I am going to do the core first. I am using a size two round brush here to create a very detailed core. Once you're done with your car, all you have to do is keep on creating the strokes and make it bigger as you go out. By this part, euros is slowly coming to life and I hope you guys are following over there. So in here I use bought this bank. Now that take advantage of the cold state of my rows, I am going to add some leaves around that. So the color of my leaves is actually a mixture of shadow, violet on there seeing green. And by that realm, this is a gorgeous vented shade of green that he can mix. So just keep adding leaves until you think that the spaces around the euros is a little bit failed already. So let's add more leaves in this area. Let's add more leaves in different shades and color. And I'll see you on the next spot. 21. Expressive Roses and Dog Roses: Details: We are not yet done with the leaves. So I think we should add more leaves on this area and add more in here. So I want you guys to be more carefree and to have more creativity when adding leaves so you don't have to follow everything that I'm doing here. I'll also be adding some leaves on the top bar to fail some empty space. So this is a big leaf and as you can see, it has a very nice shade of green in here. Again, this is the lecture of shadow green under seeing green and Van Dyke brown. Now it's time to add the last main element for this painting. So I will be adding arrows and this side. And again, I will be used teapot there is pink for that throws. So let's go and create our core. The shore, the size of your rows is just usual and just normal. It's not meet too big and not too small. Let's then to add another version of leaves. So I'm going to add some more here, especially this time that my rows is still wet. As you can see, there's beautiful granulation of color on this part. So it came from potters pink. So potters pink is from the Neil Smith. And as we know, Daniel Smith scholar got a lot of granulation. Some artists don't like that. Some love it. And I think I love it personally because it adds a lot of texture and detail on your painting. Want you guys to keep on adding leaves on the empty spaces. And then after that, we are now going to proceed on our dog rose. So I'm adding some details on my dog rose here, adding tiny lines as usual. And then after this one, I'm going to proceed with my other dog roofs. Again, I am using yellow ocher and size two round brush. Okay, so let's recede and fainting the core of our baby doll, gross. So I will be seeing yellow ocher again and size two round brush for the core. Now that we're done with the base layer, I'm gonna get my raw umber and add some ROM bird on the details of light pink, the gross. So tiny dots and lines. For the final detail, I am going to add raw umber on one side of my small circle. Of course, we're just gonna do this same thing on our webpage. Flower reached the groups. So a tiny dots, you seem Romberg, by the way, guys, if you don't have brought ombre, you can mix it by mixing yellow ocher and Van Dyke brown. By this stage, most of you are probably done. But if you still feel like adding some more details, you can add some tiny branches or shiny leaves around your painting to add a little bit more of details. And if there are still empty spaces left, you can fill it with different water in coloration of your color greens. So that would represent that would represent leaves at the back brand. So for me, I think I'm done with my painting. And I'm so happy that we guys are able to finish in this composition and I'm so excited to see your work.
