Project Description

Make your own origami boxes for gifts or trinkets.

fba8a007

Start by practicing folding technique using 90 gsm printer paper or origami paper. Don’t hesitate to print out attached Printable Box Templates to fold boxes, inserts and lids which fit together.* When you are comfortable with the folding technique, source some nice paper or decorate it yourself and then fold into boxes. Experiment with combining different papers and make some beautiful boxes!

Please make use of the attached Folding Instructions and Size Guide to make the process easier, and don't hesitate to print the attached Patterns & Colours onto paper of your choice and make it into boxes.

Complete your class project by uploading the following:

  • photographs of your folded boxes;
  • description of the used paper;
  • description of paper weight, box's sizes and fold allowances;
  • a few words about your process and how you want to use your boxes.

Fold, enjoy and be aware of paper cuts!;)

* Calculations in the Printable Box Template and in the Size Guide are done for 90 gsm paper and accurate folding. If you are using thicker paper or cannot follow the fold marks precisely, allow a few more millimetres for boxes, lids and inserts to fit together.
