Hello, I'm Madonna! I am a Filipina Artist and Illustrator, a happy full-time Mom of one, and a walking wanderer based in Florida.  My big love for nature helps me to be creative in every way. I love to try to explore different kinds of media like watercolor, gouache, and pen. Most of my work is traditional so don't underestimate the power of your hands.

When I do not paint, you can find me in my garden digging sweet potatoes, or filming for my Youtube drawing channel. I really do believe that being passionate about art takes a lot of patience, effort, time, and allowing yourself to grow in your craft. 1. Intro : Hi, everyone and Madonna Minority Settle Spare. Welcome to the class of painting for kids and wash. In this class. You will learn to pain or kids that first step in gua. Choosing a reference photo, I'm going to walk you through simple tools and materials, how to prepare your pellet. And Tuesday, late out for painting, I'm going to show you how to paint him from the sketch, painting the base color, meeting the textures and putting to back her door. Kids. This guys is for big cares and anyone who was pained. Orchids are nature, theme meanings. But out of this class, you will be able to meteoric. It's that you can hand to your wall gift here, like once. So what are you bringing for joining the class and let's get started. 2. Tools and Materials: Hi. Welcome again and thank you for your old in my class today, I'm going to show you the tools and materials that I will be using for the class. So let's start first with the word panel or just an oval shape. Would I got this from Walmart for just a dollar. But if, for example, is not available, you could always use watercolor paper. I just use whatever that's available to you there. Let's go to paint. I will be using whole buying. Quash this. It's a little pricey, but it comes with five tubes already, and the pigments are really great for painting. Now let's go to brush us. I'll be using Rafael brushes. This way is really great for troubling sins. It's very convenient, and you can roll up. It comes with a member. Roll up already, and it's really good for position. Cause the size of this ISS like my middle finger, and it's really cool to use, see, but you can really use whatever brushes that's available to their. This is just my preference, since I'm traveling in a tropical country right now, so if I find it better to use it and don't forget to use a glass of border. You can have extra if you want. And for palate, I will be disputing a cut off that paper watercolor paper and find a rag. It's gonna be where I'm going to drive home brushes, but you can use also paper towels if you want. It's just my own preference for their eggs. Case after that, make it always wash it. So that's all for the tools materials and let's go for the next video and I'll show you what kind of project that we're going to make 40 class. 3. Project : for the glass. Brodrick, we're going to paint orchids in wood or what are colors? Surface? I mean watercolor paper. You can no load the photo for over your reference. Or you can use your own photo reference for your orchids for flow. 4. Preparing your Palette: because I'm going to use a reference from my phone. I took this from one of the cordons in Florida, and setting a layout can be tricky. So since my overall would surface ISS like Hoover to call, it means that it it's not a landscape layout. So if you wanna have a landscape layout, you can just forte Children reference. And, of course, your layout to off your surface or your paper, since I will be painting and small panel or would I prefer to do a close up painting off the flowers or orchids? And now we're going to decide from our base from our reference the colors that we're going to use Ford paintings. So I'm going to use permanent magenta next Berman and Science Terminal yellow and permanent white. So you notice that I didn't include the black Berman and black for it, because when you make stead three primary colors, you will end up to have a black color. So really no need know that our palate is already and we already have a reference photo. I'll see you in the next video, and we're going to start painting the or kits 5. First Layer: we have a reference photo ready? No. Which ISS? Just a guide for me that I will not really gonna copy everything I know reference on its ovary into realistic. So I just wanted captured of form of the flower And al Just do some tweak as I being later and I'm going to sketch furs, Earthy orchid sortie outline of the flower and I'm not going to you spend cell. I'll just use my numbers girl profile brush And it doesn't have to be perfect This exercise is great for your observation skills Are are observational skills and there's something that you can build your confidence and you can sketch any subject, not just flowers. I mean everything before you paint and you can apply it ISS and AC or leg oil or even watercolor paying just to get the proportions I'm going to spit of a little while Else catch the rest off the orchids noted where Dunn's catching the outline of the orchids. I'm going to put that base color. I'll make some a wide and a little bit of magenta since the background Uh, the work, it is not really pure white. What you mean is to pedal itself. It has some being shades to it. Don't worry. If you applied to us, then you could always layer to collar. If you need to. Using the filbert brush, I'm going to continue career after your kids and putting some. Don't worry about putting details for now because we're going to put it later. I and this have to work on some of the colors that under different parts off the orchids. So if you were covering large areas, made sure that you sing big brushes because it's just it just to make it faster so that that strokes well, the bigger and flower, too. No, it's different. If, for example, you're into much like smaller or a delicate board, you could always use smaller brushes going to see you in the next video and him going to paying some pictures are dots. Did Oregon's 6. Painting the Textures: I'm delivering the base collar. No, before we mean the textures or the dots. Make sure that Spain is full of dry for the next layer unless you I want to achieve some of white and red things. So I'm going to use my numbers hero brash for the dots. So for two callers off the dots, snow really pure magenta, I make some aloe science Little, little yellow. Who'd magenta And this part is the most time consuming part because you have to make small dots inside of the pedals off the orchids. But it's fun to keep in mind. Did not too meets a lot of water to your colors. There are dots, they're very dark, and some are lighter, and you can mix a little of the white or permanent white. Or you can even use a little more abort. Do your brush if you want to. Are you seeing the tip of the brush and the size of their barrage can have an effect to in making works? And if you're using being brushes that that stores will be here to you don't have to copy all that us yes, that you saw there and the reference photo. You can still I said the way you want it. And if you're interested in get a Neuer strokes to make painting is your I have a class. That tackle is dead so that you will have a more understanding about different kinds of strokes. I'm going to speed up, and I always got her summer Dad's today, entire part of the orchids and one some port off. The workers are fully dried. It always go back to fail some more. - I'll see you in the next video, and and this time I'm going to put it back on color and some details to the orchids. 7. Painting the Background: for the background color, I decided to just paint a darker my current color. How did this make some room? Queens and blue. So it and similar bid off the colors in the orchid and I'm going toe paint first base back her own. So let the paint dry first and you refusing the union some more corrections are detail, especially the part. It's very near to dip petals. That's too, when I'm trying to work on to makes him finally tell us also at the same time. For me, anything, since the orchid is get a lighter back room two. He's a darker background to lift up our bob the color out of it. So I'm going to There's finish some final touches to wet, and I'm going to use the smallest brush for final details. And there you go. You have your architect meanings dead or ready to hang on the wall 8. Last thoughts: again. I hope you enjoy painting or getting me it over. Get to upload your project in the gallery or shoulder our core contents. Super. Um, I would love to see them there. Let's remember to have fun and enjoy. Have a great day and see you again in the future classes.
