So I can't wait to see you in class in wrote right now and start learning how to become more productive on your piano. 3. Your musical moment: Let's talk about something that I just called personal music out moment. Well, what I'm talking about is that you really need to be aware and making reflection on how How do you want to approach your piano plane? This is very important. Why? If you are a beginner and and the piano is just a hobby for you, maybe you work. You have your family, you have social stuff, social activities. Well, maybe you cannot really invest to tree hours daily at your piano. This could be a little bit confusing, right? That and sometimes we start struggling because we want to have to three hours only for or passion. In this case, maybe you really love piano, but you are a busy person, and piano is just a hobby for you. But you love piano, and you cannot span to treat hours at the piano. Well, in that case, you need to be aware of that and try to establish goals according off according to what do you want and what you really can do? What? How can you study? This is very important. So you can really get the most off. Allow your piano routine. This is very important. If if you want to become a professional, this is very important. If you want to become a professional, maybe And the suggestions I'm going to give you are totally useful if you want to become a professional. But maybe instead off just using this to ours routine that I'm going to suggest you. Maybe you will need to do this twice or three times a day, depending on the approach that you you have. If you really just are going on this like a full time, well, maybe Do you really need to invest more time? So it is really important to take that consideration because if we establish something realistic, then we can I feel better. We can be, ah, feel motivated to keep practicing because we established first a very realistic goal and a way to practice better. So if you are establishing something that it's really not realistic, if you say no, I'm going to spend four hours daily. But he just cannot do that because you have many, many things going on on your life. Well, you can't feel frustrated, and at the end you can just drop the classes or your piano practice and that it's not something correct. Actually, if you want to to play piano just for fun as a hobby, why do you need to do just V consistent? And you really can't start increasing and improving and learning? Because I mean you have all your life to keep playing right. So it's not something that music is not something that we have to just, you know, jeweler Fast and six months it will be playing well. That's not possible, because even if you practice a lot, you need to take time and invest time. And sometimes six take months and years. And that's true. That's a fact any professional musician can tell you that. And even people that play as a homing can tell you that maybe you will be able to learn one piece or some ah, progression harmonic progression away off on a campaign mint and a few hours a couple of days. But that doesn't mean that you are really getting a deeper understanding off the piano in a few days, that that's a fact. So, um, what I really recommend you is to make a reflection and think, What do you want? Who argue and which is your musical moment. So you can really take the best approach and really start getting results. So this is my recrimination to you. What are you seeing? What do you think about this? I really would love to hear for you your thoughts on and how you can organize and how you can combined European practice and you're on your daily activities. 4. How much time should I practice?: very common question of frequently asked question Talking about piano and about the piano journey actually is what first many people ask how long it takes to learn to play piano. What? This is something that we cannot tell because you can't keep learning piano old your life, that's for sure, even me, that I went to the university for more than eight years. Well, I really need to keep playing and learning all my life. So it's not something that I just I just get there and I play everything. Well, that doesn't exist us as it. But something important is that how, how many times, how much time do we need to practice? This is very important, and we need to understand what people say about this and the different choices that you have when talking about how much time you need to invest in your playing. Many research ah, show that if you want to become a professional in any art and and any practical art, something asked, music you need to in best to become a professional I'm talking about is draining it to invest. At least 10,000 hours playing are talking about the fish in playing, of course. And but you need to invest around that Ah, amount off hours. So you would think 10,000 hours is, ah, approximately, like eight years practicing five hours daily. I mean, at least five times a week, five times a week, Yes, but that doesn't mean that if you don't invest that amount, you cannot play this because if you want to really be a professional, have this level to be able to play many, many sounds and many difficult pieces on, maybe be able to play with an orchestra and this dis level. But if the music is just a whole before you, we'll just need to invest that. But you need to have an open mind and know that you really need to keep playing. There is not such thing that play a learn piano. In one week you can be able to play a song that it's a court at that goes according to your level. This is important and you know, some some like, ah, progression, something like that, and you can learn that kind of easy. But that doesn't mean that you do play PM. That's something we really need to understand. So do you need I talked about this when talking about musical moment. Eve, you our visit person. Maybe you can spend 30 minutes of the piano daily at least five times a week, and you can get results. Of course. Depends on two things you need to be consistent. And the the previous knowledge that you have the experience that you have If you have listen ah, music during your life so your ear is developed. How is your your reading? All this is important to consider off course, you need to invest more time if you invest more time than you are going to learn more and kind of faster that that's something that we really need to understand. But if music is a hobby for you, maybe one hour or two will be excellent. Two hours will be great, but maybe if you spent when I work that cool B and very good. Excellent. Remember that if you want to become a professional, well, you really need to go into your piano into your playing and play at least from 4 to 6 hours daily five times a week. Otherwise you won't get the results that you need, because it's something that is very It's a practical thing. It's not only the interpretation on understanding the music and the theory. No, we need to practice. We need to play many times several times 1000 times, many exercises and the song So we can really understand this. So my suggestion go like that one hour to hour. If music is a hobby for you, you want to become a professional. Just go into your playing and be efficient this very important and organize and go play five or six hours a lead that will be excellent. 5. How to increase the speed when I play: Now let's talk about how to practice something that really needs to be played fast. Sometimes we struggle because in it depends on the peace. Sometimes a piece itself needs to be played very fast, or the area of certain Michigan musical phrase needs to be played faster. Let's take, for example, that I have to play this. Maybe this needs to be played even faster or something like that. Well, maybe you are not capable to play this. This is speed at the beginning. So a common mistake is tells to start trying to play faster, just increasing the speed of the Metrodome or just trying to play faster but allowing mistakes. If I like this, we don't steak and again and again and again. What what is happening is that I am reinforcing the the mistake. So what I need to do is to be able to play this perfect perfectly no, no problems. By days, I need to go see their the fingering, the technical issues waas that I know, the notes, the fingering, the position, everything. I choose a speed where I can play this without any mistake. Let's take, for example, if I said the Metrodome here at 70 beats per minute. What happened? Well, I am not going to increase. Let's imagine that I am not capable to play this faster. Well, I am not going to increase immediately this peak. What I'm going to do, I'm going to play this very relaxed way, watching the fingering everything, e. I want to play this several times. By many times. I maybe I played 20 times this and after that what I do, I increase the speed. For example, I go to 80 beats per minute and I do It's okay if doesn't feel a little bit like in a hurry that if you feel that you have control and you feel OK, then do keep practicing instead, be careful instead off increasing the speed again on going to 90 for example, what we're going to do, you're going to keep practicing at this speed another 20 times, for example, on then to increase and then you go to move to 90 beats per minutes. In that way, you are really going to master each speed and feel so confident, so you can be able to play very, very fast. But with a very careful way paying attention to all the details and developed. You can develop accuracy when you play, so this is very important. Don't try to rush and play faster if you're not capable to play without any mistake, I would full control of your dynamics, fingering technique and everything. So this is my recommendation. You play something and you played like 20 times, for example, and a very nice speed, comfortable speed. Then you move to the next speed a little bit faster. But after have play many times. So this is my recombination. Don't play too fast, Always control, especially if you need to play fast. 6. How many types of exercises should I study?: another common mistakes that sometimes as to as the students we do, is that we practice only one. Think daily. If you are going to practice, let's say I'm going to play the panel one hour and I choose to practice certain type of scales and this is maybe a new scale. So I just practice that and this is going to be maybe on Monday and on Tuesday I go and start greeting another new piece. Then on Wednesday I go back to previous songs. If I do this, what is going to happen? That may be doing all the all the week I just practiced the new scale one they and remember that blame piano learning piano is something practical than needs, really to be consistent. Your really your practice needs needs to be consistent. So me, for example, as a teacher when a student, a student come and say, Well, I just practiced want a scale this week, or are just practice this piece and I didn't practise the rest of the exercises that doesn't allow really the student that doesn't about the student to to improve with all the areas, all the areas in a very complete way. So I really recommend you not to do that. Try to structure, as I suggested in this course structure, your piano routine covering the different type of exercises and pieces that you are learning in that way and you're learning is going to be better and consistent. 7. Should I focus on scales speed o different types?: I never think that we need to concede there, and this is going to be my recommendation to you. Sometimes when we are playing, especially when we are a self thought or we have been playing for a while and this is not it is not something that we are practicing. Wheat are teachers. This is important. If you have a special program with your teacher, that's okay. I don't want to interfere, but I just want to commend on something that I can see there is important. Sometimes we can get really, really obsessed with speed and with the extension by this, I mean, sometimes we practice, for example, c major scale way. Want to play this in four tapes and we want to play this very fast and we play using different rhythmical figures, which is something necessary, something excellent. But what happens is that sometimes we are not capable to play all the keys. We just played, for example, the major keys that begin with a white key. So it's not work. E. Only we are not capable to do that. Well, that's a problem. We need to be capable to play all the keys. The 12 keys. We need to be able to begin with a black he without any problem. There's a reality. If we are not practicing all the keys, well, well, we have to think a little bit. Maybe if you're just beginning. If you're not there, dared. That's absolutely correct. No problem. But the point is that sometimes we don't want to go into this keys because we think they are very difficult. What is my recommendation? Because it's Ah Grady A. And don't feel overwhelmed is to make the decision distinction between playing fast developing speed, an extension four understanding the fingering and the structure off key off all the keys. So if I am practicing slow, both hands, of course I'm given example with only one hand. But if you are playing one off tape or two, maybe not fast, and you're capable to play all the keys that is going to reinforce your fingering and the structure, and maybe later you will be able to practice this you can practice and more extension and faster, but it is important to be capable. And isn't my recommendation to, uh, rainforest, your music theory and your understanding off all the keys by being cable to Blake. The scale of your practicing, butting old keys. So, for example, if I play one of time, you need to be able to play with perfect fingering. That's very important. I just weighed your keys thing. I just it I play the 12 major keys. One update without any mistake. This is very important. So make existing extension between playing speed, developing speed and understanding the structure. So don't get Don't play only from what keys play all the 12 keys. Don't be, I will say afraid off plane, all of them because it is necessary. It's important, and it's really my recommendation so you can really improve your plane. 8. It is really necessary to READ the notes?: reading music. Why is this important? Okay, let's talk about this. Why? It is important to learn to read notes. It's very, very common as teachers that always we are listening me personally. I always listening to even debates about if it's important if it's necessary. Who needs this? There are many people that said, Really, I do not. I need to be able to read the notes. I don't need that. I play piano. I have so much fun and I I don't want that. And there are other people that say No, no, no, no. If you don't read the notes, do you really want able to play well? The reality is, well, can I be able to play piano without really notes? Well, yes, yes, it is possible to play piano without reading the notes off course. There are many people that play piano just by year, listening to the songs that they like and they play and they can do that. There are many people, for example, blind people they are many off them are capable, too. Ah, play piano. And because they developed their year in a very deeper wait, that's obvious. And that doesn't mean that that's not correct. But what my recommendation and what I'm going to share with you. Well, do you need to consider this? What are the benefits if you are in this position that you have the opportunity to learn to read the notes? Dumas. Think about this. The benefits of reading the notes Music is a language. So if you want to learn to speak another language, if you speak English and you want to learn to to speak, I don't know Portuguese or another language. Well, there are many symbols, grammar and some considerations. If you really want to have a deeper understanding off course that you can, you can be able to learn, for example, Italian without understanding the grammar years, you can. But that doesn't mean that that if you, um, don't read, you won't have. If you don't read well, maybe you won't have a deeper understanding. So this is the same. If you read, you will be able to read, not only understand what you're listening, but you will be able to read, um, play thousands off music and positions so your year it's not going to be the limit. There are many many thousands off mused Beautiful pieces that I haven't heard before and are there to be discovered if I I am capable to read. So this is important. I lows you to keep growing. If you learn to read, then your musical knowledge is going to increase and there are no limits. Right off course. It is excellent. It is necessary to develop your year, but you need to open your mind and everything. Something important. Us. Ah ah speea NIST. We need to be able to read, especially because the piano it's a very complete instrument. If you want to read any, any of you are in this process off learned to read. You must consider that learning to read music must be done in a very eminent, absolutely progressive way. This is important if we are associating learning music with learning another language. Well, imagine that you are learning. For example, let's think can be Hindi or Arab or Russian. I mean a language that has a complete, different ALF of it, and another sounds different sounds. This is important not talking about a language that it's kind of similar that then yours. So if you're learning another language and you go to a library and it's their full of thousands of books in that language. Why are you going to do? Are you going to take a science work? And you were going to try to understand very difficult with a different kind of ancient vocabulary, maybe. Well, that won't be logic, right? Do you want to do that? Because Sounds really crazy. What will you do? Maybe you are going to begin with first. Some vocabulary, Dan. Ah, short phrases. And then maybe, Ah, like something like a small short. Sorry. Something like that. You won't go on. Try to read a science book. A 1000 peaches science book, right? Whether it is the same when we think that learning music it is the same that learning another language. Well, that is going to make ah on the road easier. Use a piano method. There are many, I mean, really, really many books that can help you As a pianist, you must learn to read travel base, Cliff. This is mandatory. Some students say Well, you know, I I feel confident with travel cliff, but knowledge base cliff Well, that's why you are going to develop assist them, and you are going to use a method so you can really learn to to read base Cliff. Why? Because it's about the instrument. All the sounds. I mean the from the higher and the lower sounds and notes of we're going to play in the Piano requires to use to cliffs based on travel cliff. So this is important. If you don't feel confident reading Blake Bass clef, just go and try it. Very progressive method. There is a wide variety of piano methods for all ages and focuses on different generosity is amazing. Nowadays with the Internet on old is, ah, online stores. You can really have access to many books, and there are many that are that are amusing that are pre dear that looks nyse that use different type off. Ah, songs you can use maybe songs from your country, and you can feel identify with songs that you know or different generous to you can. There you can find a method that helps you to have learned how to read using maybe only rock melodies, rock and roll melodies that exist. I'm pretty sure, so if you think about this and you do not limit yourself. This is very important. Do not limit yourself if you cannot read. If you're an adult and you're a just beginning, well, don't think that is truly for you. Just go at your own pace. Don't limit yourself. Go at your own pace. This is a very long term process and just go germ pains don't feel overwhelmed by that. It requires tenacity and discipline. Yes, it does. I won't lie to you. It will take you maybe years to learn to read better Well, but when you think that you're going too slow and you feel discouraged, well, think learning music. It's like learning in your language. So it's your choice. If you just want to learn some phrases by year and this new language, or do you want to go deeper and start understanding both? You can do bows. You can learn some phrases, and then going to Graham are so is the same. You can learn to play by ear some tunes and then at the same time, go in a very progressive way, understanding and learning all the symbols in this wonderful language, which is music, language 9. The importance of a good Piano Technique.: and when you take a moment and talk about technique, it is absolutely mandatory for any piano, student, weather professional or amateur musician to understand the benefits off having a good piano technique and includes the technique practice if you want to develop the perfect piano routine. What ISS piano technique? All these exercises that are not exactly pieces which purpose is to develop something specific. ALS, which objectives are be capable to have the same level skill in both hands. As you know, every human is different. We don't have the same type of hands the size offer fingers. I mean, the length off or fingers or hands in general is different and each hand is different from the other and each finger is different from the other fingers. So it is necessary to be able to do the same things, so the the skill level must be the same. Both hands and we need to be in to develop independence or fingers needs to be need to be independent. This is very important and the piano technique is going to help us. If we include this type of exercises, well, there's going to help us to play different rhythmical figures. We are going to develop a good temper control. So if you are playing a piece which has certain types of rhythmical figures, if you have practiced those figures before and you have practiced with metronome and different type of scales, arpeggios, different type of pieces that help you to develop this things well, this is going to be easier. Really. I mean it. So this is really important. Sometimes the students tell me, Oh, you know, teacher, I I just I don't like the matter in all this is not nice. I don't like it so confusing it. It doesn't allow me to play with freedom, but the reality is that sometimes we can, if we cannot play with the Metrodome, is because we have not practiced this since the beginning, and it's a lack off temper control, and this is not correct. We should be able to play with the mentoring. Um, maybe after practice, you can play without it, but we need to be able to do that. If you can't play with the methanol, there's something missing in your practice. So this is important and practicing with Metrodome Dear endured technique exercises. Well, it's going to help you, and actually it's going to be kind of easier. You need to develop strength and sound control. This is another benefit off, including on developing a good piano technique. Do you are going to be able to play lather on Softer? A good interpretation depends on having good dynamics, so you are capable to express you are capable to play, slather softer, manage a little bit that this speed the temple and you need to have control of your speed and of the force that you're used, the strength that you have in your fingers with your ham. So this is very important. And when we understand that this is going to be better if we don't have the skills developed, maybe do you love the song? You are trying to play it with so much inspiration. But if you don't have this a skills, well, it's just not gonna happen. And it's going to be very frustrating because you are going to saying, Could you are you going to think that you are playing this correctly? But you are not playing correctly talking about any piece, so it is important to understand this so as pianists. We need to be able to play in the different types off piano. What I'm talking about. Well, you need to be able to play on a grand piano on a baby grand or just an upright piano, and all one a new one and maybe a lighter one, or any key war or media controller. You need to be able to play in any off this instruments because that's the reality for us as spareness, especially if you are an amateur musician. Well, you will find that there are many. Sometimes you practice in your house with certain type of piano or keyboard, then your take your lesson in another instrument, and sometimes maybe, let's making that you're going to play and on a band, local man or on the restaurant or bar. Or maybe, ah, festival Roger School or at the church. And, well, let me tell you, the most probable thing is that you are going to play in another piano and other instruments, so you really need to have a good technique so you will face all the difficulties that change in the instrument and brings without any problem. This is important, So having a good training provides the technical tools to play more difficult pieces. So you are playing the different scales and different arpeggios, different, different, rhythmical figures. And then you. Let's think that you are going to play a Chopin's valves that has it's in a different key and has many arpeggios. Well, if you have practiced this previously, then you are going to be able to play the new piece better, easier. That doesn't mean that you don't need to study a lot, but is going to be easier. Otherwise, if you haven't practiced this when you go to another, when you start playing another new piece, if you don't have the technical skills that that peace requires, your just won't be able to play this correctly. That's a reality. In piano, you cannot release keep levels. You really need to go in a very progressive way. So my recommendations always always include different types off exercises you can play scales are pages. There's some technique methods as the hand on book, the meat very hair on there, actually many, many books, so you can include different type of exercises at courts, courts preparations and there are many exercises that will help you to to achieve your goals. Never, never. Please never prioritized speed over accuracy if you are playing faster because you think that is better and you are allowing yourself to play with mistakes and a very sloppy way with the lack of good sound. And you're really just thing that you are playing better because you are playing faster. This is a mistake. Never play faster. If you are not playing something correctly, that's a mistake, and that will bring you many problems in the future. So really pleased Play slower, but without mistakes. Only after that you can increase the speed and something. Another thing very important. I have heard some horror stories of during my life as a musician about students that start practicing and they feel and some type of physical discomfort. Example. Imagine that you are playing scales and you feel something. We're on your left arm, something that close to the rest, and you feel a little bit discomfort. But you keep playing and you think, Oh, no, no, no. I just going to concentrate and focus and keep played. Even that I have this discomfort and you play two hours with this pain well, instead, off this come forth is going to become a pain, and you can really have problems. You shall never over exercise. If you have any problem, you should stop, because if you practice correctly, you can play eight hours without any problem. But if you are practicing in a very incorrect way and you allow yourself to have a discomfort, well, Duke in. Actually, if Inger you can have a danger in five minutes and that's cool, ah, lead you to need to stop playing for some days. And in a very, um, in a war scenario, you can develop a serious injury like tendonitis or something like that, and maybe need surgery and watch scenario. You. Maybe you want to be able to play again. That's a reality. So we need to be aware off any problem, any discomfort. So it is important. A good piano technique is a way to achieve or piano goals. If you understand that you are always going to include some technical exercises and you're never going to say okay now I don't need scales and arpeggios that's so boring. No, you need to understand the benefit on. Then you will get a better approach to your piano technique and you will improve your play 10. Common mistakes : in the next section. I am going to this cows with you, some ideas and some mistakes that sometimes students have very common mistakes. So we really need to be aware of that. I really recommend you to pay attention on what I am want to share with you in the next section so you can really, uh, understand and play better, efficiently and with better results. So pay attention in this next section. 11. Stop reading?: a very common mistake that sometimes I can see with my students. And sometimes the students really struggled with that is that when you are playing a piece , sometimes you stop reading the notes and it's okay, of course, to play by memory. That's something that will need to do. But the problem is when you stop reading and you are not capable to to really know where iss ah, where is where you are playing? This is very important if you just play my memory, but you're not capable to identify the correct part and the musical phrase that you are playing the note exactly. Well, you have a problem. Why? Because you are just learning this in a very mechanical way and you cannot improve. And actually, you cannot breathe. Well, that's a reality, because you start, you will start changing dynamics some temple markings on another indications about phrasing and all that stuff. So it's very, very important to not stop ringing. You need to keep reading, and if you are at this point when you cannot follow the notes, why do you need to do is go over and practice part by part reading you play you read, and then that way you can really reinforce your learning because you are reading your your site. You are following with your eyes and outs and you get your analyzing and this is very important. So don't do that. Don't get to the point that you have a whole section and you just play that and you cannot really identify what you are playing and where is where you are playing. So this is what you can do really recommend you be aware of that because can be confusing and can I can't really get you into a lack off accuracy when you play, so be careful with that. Don't to stop breathing. 12. Playing the easiest part?: Another very common mistake is to play the E C part first or maybe the part off the peace or your exercises. Those exercises that you really have mastered them maybe, and you just practice that instead of going into the new exercises or the more problematic areas. Let's let's think this. Maybe you are going to You're studying a three sheets, three pages. Peace. Your piece has three pages and the 1st 1 you have already played that you can play that in a very decent speed kind of fast, actually. But in the second page, well, maybe there is something really kind of difficult something that you really need to you know, those those exercises or those areas, those phrases that you need to practice hand at each hand, separated hands very slow and increase the speed slowly. Maybe those type of exercises or motor step type of off, um, phrases. Well, what is a mistake? It just go over and over and over all the e c part. You know, all the the oldest, easy and fast sections. And what happens is that suddenly we we have been playing for one hour and we need just to go and do another stuff. We need to stop playing. And we didn't achieve what we want because we didn't organize the time Well, So instead off begin playing, you know, the easy part. Go directly and go straight to the problem. And to start practicing old. They knew the new area of the new phrases and just going to the problem and analyze and practice concentrate. And after that, then you can go over and play again. All that, all the pieces aural, the first patient, this case. So it isn't really My recommendation is a very common mistake. And sometimes we really lose time. We waste time practice because we don't organize the difficult part first and then the easy part. So it is my recommendation. Think about that. So that is really going to help you to improve improve your practice 13. The 30 Min Routine: Now, let's talk about the 30 minutes routine. Many your are thinking. Okay, Wait. Wait till so Well, why are you talking? About 30 minutes is really not effective. Cannot be effective because you just mentioned before that if somebody wants to become a professional, many specialists have research. Show that you need to spend 10,000 hours of the pianos. Should to really become good at the instrument. Well, the reality is that you want to become a professional. Really? Even you want to make a living from this. You really want to have the skills on the level to play. Well, this is recommended. But if that is another case, which most off the piano students around the world, I will say, I don't know. 99%. It's not the case. So when this is recommended, Okay, if you're a visit person, I have mentioned before knowing yourself, really understanding who you are on what the piano is for you. And in which moment you are. I mean, talking about your life and your musical skills. Well, you may be a person who is Visy. If you have your job and your family, your social activities. What let me do cannot. You're simply cannot to spend 23 hours of the piano daily. You want to, but you cannot. So, in this case, what I really recommend you if you are in amateurs to them. If this is a hobby for you, do you can at least try to spend 30 minutes daily at the piano, and you can have some progress. Actually, it it's This is something about it. I mean, it's a long term off course. You can not have an enormous progress. And ah, studying 30 minutes daily and one month. Did you feel really like you are playing now? Well, of course, that is not going to happen. But you can feel you, and you will feel that you haven't progressed if you organize yourself. So this is very important. If we're talking about playing 30 minutes on Lee, do you need to be really practicing without any destruction because of you? Stop. I do action yet to go to the bathroom and and have a drink of water and and drink water. And you say hello to somebody there. Well, then you will nuts. Ah, you will be wasted. You will have wasted 1/3 off the off the practice session. Right. So this is important too attached to that. So what I'm going to do? I am going to divided this 30 minutes into three parts and from the in the 1st 10 minutes, I am going to dedicate that to technique. Then from I am in a 10 to 20 I'm going to dedicate to practicing new section, then the last 10 minutes to another section. Okay? I went to analyze this a little bit for you. It's recommendable to practice at least five days a week. So this is important. Try to find a moment where you can do this without any destruction, and it is important. Change the exercises. I'm going to explain this to do okay, if you practice daily and we're talking about technique. Well, my recommendation is that you can change one day you can practice the scales exercises that help you to develop more speed or something like that and our pages. Right? So you can alternate this and one day, the other one you practice and other things. So this is important. So you can covert different type of exercises. Not only certain exercises. Then when we go to the new section while I'm talking about a new piece, but not, of course, 10 minutes. The whole new piece you have to devise, analyze and play by sections or by phrases, musical phrases or maybe a specific ALS progression that you cannot play or it's more difficult. So that area, maybe you are going to practice this, and it is this same. With the last 10 minutes off the session, you're going to practice something new. You can organize this, but the attention. You can alternate the sections and use sections, but one day, for example, you can play another new piece. Instead, off playing the new section, you're going to play the older pieces or the other sections that you have previously practiced. In this way you can keep playing and one day a week, for example, you guess you can practice all the new sections or all the pieces that you have that you have to play or you have to practice at your class if you are not taking classes. If you are owned your own, well, it doesn't matter. One once a week you can dedicate to just practice over. Right? So this is something that can work off course. You can make changes, but I really recommend you to organize this. This is important. My recommendations set the chronometer for me. It's important. Why? Because I get distracted. And sometimes I really lose track of time. I lose track of repetitions as well. So sometimes, for example, if I am using the matter in, um Ah, the Metrodome What I do, I said, actually having a nap that has the Metrodome, a Koran and chronometer. So I used the chronometer and the metronome at the same time. So it helps me allowed to be unorganized students sometimes. And when I, especially BCG, find work in front of my house and I'm alternating, maybe some work at the computer and then I have to practice something. Well, I dedicate 5 15 minutes. I said the chronometer. I practiced a specific ALS. Some area off any piece on. Then I go to another activity and track your progress. This is important. Sometimes we really can't forget what have been practicing or that we have to Brexit something new, some type of exercise. So I recommend you to track your progress right down the speed of your second of your exercises and everything that it is important. So that will help you to be a more productive and effective piano students and take the most off your panel practice, even if you are just playing 30 minutes. 14. The 60 minute routine: Now I am going to give the American Foundation on how toe organize European practice if you are going to practice for 67 minutes. So this is a 60 minutes routine. Sometimes we have a little more time under with more time to practice. So if this is your case, which I really recommend you one hour daily if you want to, um, if piano, the muse and music is just an Howie for you. Well, cigarette dia to take one hour daily at least four or five times a week. This is important. You really recommended to think what you are going to study before practicing, so you can really take the most off every minute, each minute that you spend playing piano. So this is important. So my recommendation first. As always, begin with technique. 1st 15 minutes plate, think, practice European and technique. The next 10 minutes you're going to choose a new section can be a musical phrase, or maybe you're going to take 10 minutes to analyze something new. Then the next 10 minutes. Another new part. This is important, so you keep prioritizing the new things. When do you feel more concentrated so you can really focus on something new, then the 10. Ah, you're going to take five minutes Break. This is important. Maybe you are used to do something that its intellectual and really concentrate for a longer period of time. But if you have not being practicing piano more than one hour, you are going to feel that you are loosen Ah, control of what you are playing. So I really recommend you to take in at this moment. Five minutes break. Then you go to another new section and you finish with 10 minutes off. Ah, playing your repertoire. So repertoire overview in the last 10 minutes. But remember, this is important. You can include different types of exercises in this, um, use in this blueprint that I am suggesting. So when you practice technique one day you can play scales the other one you can play arpeggios or technique methods. You can use any off this exercises and alternate them so you can cover more type off exercises. This is important. Then when you go to one section one you section, you can analyze something new, or you can play a new section with separate his hands. Take your time. This is important. Analyze on play separated cans many times as many times as possible before playing them at the same time. So in the next 10 minutes you can go to the same section, and now as another level off difficulty in this case, you can play both hands at the same time. Then after the break, so you can go to another new section, a new phrase or part of a new peas. And, you know, try again separated cans. So you are going to keep learning new things. And the last 10 minutes Do you just go on play or the previous sections? One other pieces, your repertoire pieces that you want to keep playing. This is important. And remember, if you don't have Juergen, if you are, are not going to be playing like for 30 minutes. Well, I really recommend you to play your pieces slower so you can really concentrate and remember every part off the peace, and that is going to help you to to really take the most and to take the advantage off playing the piece is slowly without mistakes. This is very important because if you just go and play kind of fast and you have mistakes. This is not going to help you to keep fresh old your pieces. So this is important and this is my recommendation Practice. If you can five days a week, that's very important and change the exercises. Do you don't have to practice the same thing? They But it is important to practice each exercise couple off, um, times each week. This is important as well. So my recombination said the car on a meter and track your progress. This is going to be important so you can check all the all this p the numbers, the beats per minute when you are using the mantra Nam. So this is important and it is my recommendation so you can take the most off 60 minutes routine. 15. The 2 Hours routine real: Now let's go to the two hours routine. If you want to become a professional, you must know that during any to span many hours of the band, and you can in practice this to our station at least toe ice a day. This is important. Sometimes you need to even play more. But what I'm going to suggest really is to take action, but in a very conscious way, because sometimes when we are going to, if we're going to play for two hours, we don't tracker progress or we just start playing random pieces. And sometimes we are playing the piano. Yes, but we are not studying. This is important, so we really need to order and schedule how we're going to practice. If you want to become a professional, this is a mast. If piano is just a hobby for you, well has been in two hours of the piano. It's going to help you to have a faster improvement, so it's really recommendable to so how we are going to divide and organize first, try to say focus. As I mentioned, I think what you're going to play, we're doing to practice, take a few breaks or and 10 minutes break or more. So you can keep feeling fresh on concentrated because we want to play and develop accuracy when we play. So we need to really say concentrated. The good thing is that if you played for two hours, you can include many areas like technique, like reading new pieces or using a reading method. You can practice your repertoire, your first sight reading, and you can practice off course playing by memory. So there are many things that we can do if we take two hours. My recommendation. First hour. Let's see the 1st 20 minutes we're going to practice your piano technique. I have mentioned before how you can manage the different areas, and you can practice different type of exercises in this section. So I'm not going to really go over this again. So after 10 imminence you over and the next 10 minutes you're going to play a new section or a new piece, or you're going to analyze something. You can play separated cans, and then the next 10 minutes, you go to another section, or you can go to the previous section and do something else. Like, for example, now playing both camps at the same time. Cool work, then another 10 minutes. Repertoire overview so you can keep playing. Other pieces are recommendation ISS to play. Not too fast, even that. For example, if you are playing a piece that must be played and Duke actually can play it at 120 bits per minute, maybe you can take a moment and practices playing it while 100 beats per minute kind of slower so you can really concentrate and make sure that you are playing this without mistakes. Now, please do take a 10 minutes break that you can stop. Just stand up, walk and you know, I don't know. Go and you can have a fruit or something or a glass of water, something like that, so you can feel kind of renewed to the next hour. So the second hour you can, for example, play 10 minutes First sight reading. You can practice that. Then you can practice 15 minutes playing by memory practice, and this is very important, so you can really know. Keep working with all the pieces that you or exercises that you're working with than the next 10 minutes. Another new section overview. So would you can choose a section that you practice in the first hour, for example. And this guy cool work the next 15 minutes. Now you're going to make in all the repertoire overview so you can keep practicing practicing this and the last 10 minutes again, you can go a practice playing by memory. This is important. So my recommendation practices tree to five days a week. If you want to become a professional, this is going to be a mosque five or six days a week, practicing 34 hours daily at least. And it is important. Change the exercise so you can get confused. So my recommendation is to said the crown aumentar chronometer. I'm sorry. The krona meter. An track Your progress. Write down what you have practice right down older. The speed the bits per minute off your, um metronomic. And how would you can practice this? This is important so you can get better results and have ah, you can see you can track and manage old your practice and all the exercises and how you are getting to your ghost. This is important. Try to do this. We have to have an open mind and make some changes and so you can find out which type of routine really works for you. 16. Congratulations: Congratulations.
