Project Description

Quilled Paper Feather

 Cut your own paper strips, then fold, curl and coil all by hand

SUPPLIES

  • Paper (Cardstock if you have it but other papers will be fine to start!)
  • Glue
  • A backing (either cardstock or white cardboard will work)
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers (optional but helpful!)

DELIVERABLES


Step 1: Cut your strips and upload a photo to your class project of the color / cutting method you chose.

Step 2: Fold some simple outlines for your quilled feather. Once you’ve glued them down, take a photo of your outline and upload it to your class project.

Step 3: Practice shaping and curling strips to fill in your feather. Take a quick photo of your progress and upload it to your class project - you’ll want to look back after the finished product, trust me!

Step 4: Now for the fun! Get started making tight coils using only your fingers and fill out your feather with a little flair. Take a shot of your brand new artwork and upload it! I’m excited to see all the little variations that will make your feather your own!
