1. Introduction: Hi. Welcome to this class. This is the number two in the music student. Serious. We are going to analyze how to develop important areas off your music play how to develop accuracy and speed. Maybe you are planning to certainly in an instrument. Or do you are studying an instrument right now? Well, let me ask you a question. Is your study being productive enough? Maybe you spent so much time practicing and you are not getting the results that you want. Maybe you are keeping having the stakes. And you don't know what to do. How accurate your playing is on. You have to consider if you're allowing mistakes. Maybe you are dealing with this and you're struggling as you. I'm not sure how to get the results that you want. Maybe you need to play certain pieces or exercises at certain speed. But you don't know how to increase the speed. Are you capable to that To increase your speed consistently in order to get the results that you need? Well, my name is Angela. So you I'm going to be your instructor in this class and I want to share a little bit about my experience and how you can organized your study in order to the rebel accuracy and more speed. Welcome to this class. 2. Developing Accuracy: well, in this lesson, we weren't to talk how to develop a curious. Well, this could be a really problem, A real problem, even if you are playing by yourself yourself. Thought person well, but you need to really be able to play everything in the correct way. So every time that you practice, this is something that we really need to understand. Every time that you practice your brain, your muscles and your years are receiving a message, they are learning That's the reality. If, for example, me I am a pianist, well, as a pianist every time did I play. My both hands are learning something not on Lee. My years on my brain depends, of course, on off which instrument you are playing. But the reality is that every time that you play, for example, if you play a wind instrument, maybe you are breathing in certain way. Well, even that you are learning something with each repetition off any song or any exercise. But the awful part here is that even if you play with mistakes, if I practice certain peace and I am playing with mistakes, I am learning those mistakes on I. It can be really, really difficult to make that mistake go away. That's the reality. So what do we need to do well in order to develop musical accuracy? Well, what we need to dio is to practice most of the time without any mistake. Off course, this sounds pretty obvious, but how do we do that? How we we'll reach that. How is this possible? Well, the secret is to divide each exercise in the small sections. I'm pretty sure that if you are already taking music lessons your teacher has told you, are you have read about is that you need really need to go part by part? Well, are you really doing that? This is, um, the sheet music off song. Let's imagine that I am a a singer and I need to sing that as well. What do I need to do is to take a look off the song analyzed on Divide This. I did it just into sections. Then I'm going to choose the first part, and I'm going to divide this also in into smaller sections. Freis is musical phrases. Asai. The colder here would blue Well, this is the first phrase, and I need to be able to seeing this first sprays without any mistake. Why do I have to consider? Well, I need to take a look of the notes, the rhythm and carved figures, de phrasing, dynamics, even if when I wasn't talking about phrasing. Sometimes the sheet music doesn't have all the phrases returned like this one, but you must be able to. Did you use that by yourself? Well, we must think about the dynamics and instruments specification. It's not the same if you need to think about the breathing, for example, or something about. If you're a pianist like guitar Player, it doesn't matter. You have to think about this. All this things you cannot practice and play a phrase without dynamics or without the rhythmical figures or just trying to do without being trying to be do that in a very accurate way. That's very important. As I said, the fingering fingering is very important. For example, for a pianist, you don't really need to focus on that too well. Each section or phrase must be played perfectly. No mistakes. So that's why do you really need to choose a very short section so you can really focus on everything that I just said. How do you need to play? This very is lowly Eve. Do you think that you are playing to a slow? Well, maybe you are not. You need to play even slower. I have done this with many, many times with my students that I I asked them at what speed is a good idea to play that, and sometimes they just think that slow is something that is really not a slow enough. So I really recommend you to go very, very slow. How slow? Well, if you can play this perfect well, that's the correct way. That's a correct speed. There's no hurry, because if you play this too fast, your control, our mistakes and that's not good, your music is going to be effective. So established daily goals, four phrases two phrases don't try to play really very big sections. No one or two technical exercises, scales or arpeggios depends off what you are doing. If this is how it for you, how much time are just spending? So I really, really recommend you to go part by part in order to reach all the goals that we ask. Musicians needs very slowly and part by part, even do need to develop a cure, ISI. So well, you will be able to play this correctly if you do that. 3. Developing Speed: Now let's talk about how to develop the correct speed or the needed the speed. One weight practice. Sometimes we are. We need to play something that it's really fast and we can feel eso over Well, because of that and we don't know how to start. Well, what we are going to do is the first we need to establish at what this Pete do we need to play? We need to think about Temple. What is this? Well, Temple. It's ah what in music It's called to know which type of music which type of song or peace we are playing. For example, this is a piano song on piano piece and right here as I marked, I am going to show you this I This is distract of the peace. And here I highlighted in blue that temple marking This is a temple monkey and this is called Presto What presto means kind of fast. Really. This saw the pieces first, but we have here the name. Sometimes the name off the peace tells you how must be played In this case, Donatella means an Italian dance. So this peace must be play really, really fast. But even though that may be, I need to play this 120 bibs beats per minute. Well, how do I going to achieve that speed goal? Well, I'm going to choose a section off the peace off the exercise. As I just showed you in the last lesson, I'm going to analyze that I'm play acids lower. It's possible in order to play perfectly once that I have a section or a couple of sections perfectly, very, very slow and without any mistake, how should you increase the speed in order to reach the correct one? Well, this is very important to understand. Never allow mystics. Okay, then find the correct speed for that. If I am playing, for example, but very, very slow. And at that point I can play without mistakes. So this is This is where I'm going to begin, so I'm going to practice several times. For example, if I am playing certain section 60 beats per minutes on without any mistake, well, I'm going to play. It's many, many times at that speed before trying to increase the speed. Of course, this the pants off which exercise you are playing. This is of course is it's different in each case. But if I am playing a scale, I want to play the exercise at 17 many times 30 40 times for repetitions, and then I try that exercise at 80. If you are capable to play at 80 without any mistake, then and only then and you can keep, UM, you can keep playing at that speed and then what you are going to do. You are going to incurs the speed. But if you play more fast, well, faster and you have mistakes, thank you are not getting the point. So here's the situation. I play a 60 beats per minute. I am playing the my exercise 20 times. Then I'm going to try this at 70 beats per minute. If I can play this in a very natural way without any mistake, then I keep playing this. I know they're 20 times, for example, and then I can keep increasing the speed until I reach the speed that is necessary for the exercise or the piece that I complain. So you're really need to be patient, avoid mistakes and keep practicing. If you allow mistakes, you really going to struggle and you won't be able to reach the necessary. It's peace on you want, feel motivated? This is very important. If you are intelligent, when your study, then you can reach German musical goals and you're going to feel really, really motivated about your play. So this is very important in order to the really efficient. When do practice your music. Well, I hope that this having useful for you, um I will keep sharing more of Isis and the next lessons. Thank you.
