About This Class

Welcome to the  Moodle plugins class –where we will lokk at the  H5P, Scheduler, Sharing Cart and Lightbox Gallery Plugins.   I created this final section as there are several plugins that don’t really fit into any category, but, need to be investigated as a part of the Moodle plugins course!  We begin the class by installing and configuring the sharing cart plugin, a plugin that allows you to quickly share activities and resources between multiple courses.   The scheduler plugin is next, and this great plugin allows teachers to schedule appointments with their students.  I shall of course show learners how to install the plugin and how to set up the student appointment slots.   My all time favourite Moodle plugin is looked at next – the H5P plugin.  I have decided to split up the H5P plugin into four lessons – beginning with installation of the plugin, followed by looking at interactive videos, course presentations and some of my favourite H5P activities.   The final plugin of this class, is the lightbox gallery plugin.  This plugin allows images to be displayed within a gallery, and after showing learners how to install the plugin, ill show you the various configuration options.  If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.

I have worked in eLearning for over 8 years, and in IT and computing for over 15 years.

I began my career at the Workers Education Association, the largest provider of Adult education in the UK, as a support analyst before moving up to a Senior Support Analyst, involved in building networks and providing helpdesk support.  I then moved on to work as a Learning Technologies officer for Coventry University London Campus, and then a Virtual Learning Environment Manager during my 4 years at the Royal Veterinary College.

Presently, I am the Electronic Resources Manager at the Institute of Dentistry at Queen Mary University in London, England.

I have managed multiple eLearning projects throughout my wide and varied career, including a college wide migration from Blackboard to Moodle, creating new undergraduate online courses, managing Virtual Learning Environments, Creating e-learning content, Moodle training, learning design including MOOCs and SPOCs and pedagogical design of online courses.

I frequently identifies and assesses relevant learning technologies to extend and support teaching and learning, and plan and manage the integration of such technologies into the curriculum and into teaching practice.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching Football - I am a Chelsea fan, entering online competitions, playing with my cat Daisy (she makes a guest appearance in my courses!) and going out to the pub with my friends.
