About This Class

This course looks at moles and molarity, and why an understanding of moles and molarity is important for chemistry, biology, and pre-med students.

This course will look at moles and molarity, and Avogadro's constant, and then later move on to look at Amounts, Volumes and Concentrations, and it contains a number of worked examples of how to calculate the number of moles present, how many grams of something you will need to get a certain number of moles, and how to work out the molarity of a solution.

Taking the sting out of science maths

I am a senior university lecturer based in the UK.

I have over 30 years of lab experience, and for the past 18 years, I have taught on a number of university degree programmes including biomedical sciences, biochemistry, genetics, pharmacology, physiology and microbiology. I have run first, and a second-year university biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, microbiology and pharmacology practicals in which students had to perform the type chemistry calculations found in the courses I am offering on Skillshare. I have also delivered final year classes, which contain more advanced mathematics/chemistry type problems.

Finally, I am also a 'geek', and so I have the skill set to produce these courses....
