Project Description

Explore the beauty of food by capturing 5 images of a raw fruit or vegetable

ASSIGNMENT

Food can be an incredibly interesting subject for a photograph. For this project, you will choose 1 raw fruit or vegetable and capture the different parts of your subject in 5 photographs. 1 image should show your subject as a whole, the other 4 will focus on individual parts. Your images can take on any mood of your choice, but try to stick with a minimalist style to really emphasize the beauty of your subject.

DELIVERABLES

• A moodboard showing images to inspire your shoot. This can either be uploaded directly to Skillshare, or you can link us to a Pinterest board or similar.

• 5 images of your chosen fruit or vegetable

  • The first image should show your subject as a whole (an overview, if you will).
  • The remaining 4 images should show different parts of your fruit or vegetable (1 part per image).

Note: If you share your images on Instagram, be sure to use the class hashtags: #minimalistfoodXskillshare and #skillshare. Feel free to tag me too so I can see what you're up to! @_kateemma

• Bonus: because this class is inspired by my project aimed at preventing food waste, let us know in your project description how you made use of your subject when you finished shooting! I made the leeks into a delicious leek and potato soup and my videographer (Justin of J Charles Photography) and I enjoyed the oranges as a post-shoot snack!
