1. Travel Journal Introduction: Welcome to our bookbinding class, and thank you so much for joining me. My name is ammonia and in this class, I'm your instructor and I'm going to show you how to create this beautiful traveler journal, this notebook, this planner to plan your holiday, you over cation perfectly. And it's not just the book we're going to do. We are also creating all the inserts you can put in some backs and note pads. And, you know, there will be some surprises and I really hope you are going to enjoy this class. It's a little bit tricky at the beginning, but I promise it will be easy and fun a little bit later once we have the book Friday. So now let's dive right in. 2. Travel Journal Material: So here's all the material we need for our book. It's not an easy project, but with a little bit of practice, you can do the totally fine. So what I have here is some adhesive tape and also the book itself. And I'm going to start with that one here is the material I need later to decorate my book that is from the vicious group when kid a fresh start. I have put them on a paper, on a PDF for you and on a silhouette file so you can cut them out or you use whatever whatever cutting machine you have. And then you can use it to decorate the whole book. And I also have the paper from that kid. And that is what we're going to use other color paper and for the insight. So what do we need first is a card stock, and this is the card stock. It has 11.5 by 16.7 centimeters. And we need two of them for left and right. And for the middle part, we need this type here. It has, of course also 16.7 by 2.5. And then we need in the middle to cover it all. So that is how it will look later. And this is 15.5 by 3.8 because we need to cover these areas here and have our paper on this piece of paper. We have to sue it on it. And I'm going to show you how to use this machine. From we are memory keepers. Can see here we remember keepers. I'm going to link them. And you can easily make this piece here. Then I'm term, make the holes inside to get your paper on these stripe of paper. Later we are going to decorate it with some stamps and when was photos and whatever. So just, you know, what you can expect here. So now I need to get rid of all this because I need some space here. 3. Book Cover (Part 1): So we start with one piece of paper on the back. We don't need that one right now. What we do first is we glue it on the back paper. So just to make sure you know already, we need some space here because later we need to flip it together. And then means we need some space between those. So you need to be careful what you see now here I just have such a stripe and here I have much more. So I need to make sure it's nearly in the middle. It doesn't matter really that much. But I need a bit of space because I need to flip it over. So we have mice, ECI. Okay, that's what we're going to start with. And I'm using adhesive tape for that. I'm going to put the adhesive tape all around here and over that here. And then I also use a glue stick and put it here on top as well, just to make sure it's really on the paper on here. Ok, let's start it. The nice thing about this piece of tape is that you don't need a scalar. I just make my fingers True. That's true. Also just as a tip, Make sure it's not overlapping here or you have a hard time to get the stripe off. So just putting that here between these two. So and when you're finished here, make sure you go over it with your bone folder. Just to make sure you really have it gluing on your card stock here. Okay, so for now, next one. So now we need to peel off the whole thing. And I think that's the hardest part. Let's forget this peeled off here. But here the bone Fuller's also huge help if you're really present on it. And it's much easier to get these stripes up for here. Okay, we have this three parts now and I'm just positioning them. You see, sweetheart, because of all the glue here. And what I do now is put a little bit of glue stick in the middle. Again, make sure you have some space on the left and right. It doesn't have to be a 100% straight. It doesn't matter that much. But what matters is that you have some space between these two, at least in the width of the card stock. So this is what you need here. Okay? Make sure you really blew it onto background. And let me show you how it looks so far. And you see it looks pretty good. Here. You can already go over your bone folder or we're going to wait a second until we have the rest. Glue here. Oh, so you see I need to fold it a bit. Okay, so now we need to flip that over. And to make that a 100%, Well, get it really. Well over here. We better folded with a bone folder. Once again, it's kind of pref holy. So we need to get rid of the edges as well. So the first law that over, okay, now we need to get rid of the edges. So just make it a bit round. Don't be too straight here, just need to get rid of it. And then we flip the whole thing over here. Also C, It's not alike here, so the more space in here, but that doesn't matter. We're going to put the inside over it later. Okay? So you can't see what we are going to do. But the main thing is that you cover that here. That is what it is. It is covered. And that works. We can go ahead. So what we do now is again, we use our adhesive and at added here. Don't forget you to use your bone folder. If there are some edges to them, of course. Be careful when you have something like that, so it doesn't fit here anymore and whole stripe, but it's better to have it. So all we are doing is we already make glue. Get rid of that, and then put one over it. 4. Book Cover (Part 2): So you see another stripe here. Life a bit easier. Cut the edges before you peel it off. Okay, now we can flip that over. So once again makes sure it's loyally here on the edge and then pull it over. And we do the same here on the other side before we turn to those. So we have two stripes or a here. So we just need to enter it off these. So that's it. We have the cover writing. So you see now how important it is to have enough space here so we can really turn over. Okay, so this is not what we need right now. I'm going to put that aside. 5. Creating the Spine & sewing Papers: And now I will leave a tricky part. So I have this machine here to really get the punches right. And for that, I first need to make it here in the middle. And then we put it over here to have the other street because risk-free piles of paper and we all need to sue them on this little piece of paper. So that is the tricky part. So first we the middle of this, okay, one stamp, you decide where you want to punch it. And what I'm going to do now here, R holds with black stroke around it. And so I leave some years, some space here, 1234. And here the same 1234. And they punch it fear. And I punch it here. And now we need another hole here. And then we need another set here in the middle. So we have no hole here, so I put it here. And now we have some left 12345. So it means we need to have it here and here. These two are also have to be punched. So now it's not handler present because they don't work, but it's okay. It doesn't really matter. Just to have it look nice. So now we need to get that over here, this one. And once again, I put that thing on, it, turned around. So now we need to find where we already punch to it. And then we punt on the right and left again. Fall. Okay, cell, the end result is something like that. And what we now need is we need to go over here because we don't need all these holes. We just need a few of them. That is just to really have it in the middle. Because you know that this little machine is obviously for more than these. So don't variable that, you don't see that anymore later. So now we have a lot of holes here. So we're going to add that no hair. And we use the middle 11 on the right and left, and we cover the other ones with the inner paper. So what we're going to do now is we soup. And that is what is already comes with this. We are memory teachers tend to think, and this is what we use now. So next thing is we need to get the holes also here in our piece of paper. Here. We're going to do that for now. So I put that in the middle and then I use my pencil. I'm sure there are better solutions for that, but that's how I figured it works now for me, I'm going to go through the whole with my pencil. So it's marked on the other side too, in the middle as well, which we didn't go through. Okay. Once that's done, you put it here again. So now I can see where I need to see through the paper. I believe it's more or less hardest part here, so I'll skip the holes inside. Okay, and now the third one as well, same thing. Paper. Your template. Make your dots. Put it on here. As I said, most probably there are more elegant solutions. But it works and this part stresses me so most, so I believe it's best just to get it done. So next thing is we need to start suing. Here's the needle. So we start in the middle. And so on. Yeah. So now you see here my my dots from the pencil but we can rub it off later. So no, very simple. Okay, so too are inside already. And what we need to do later when we have number three edit, we need to cut it again. But for now we'd need to add the stroke pile of paper. Yeah, that's what we're going to do now. Once again, I use this here. The amount of during a neat here. So it's just one I have to yarn forward to. So you don't need that much anymore. Since we started in the middle. Make sure you added on the right side now not one on the left again. So it would look pretty strange. So to add that, you know, these are all the mistakes I already made, so I'm telling you about those and you see it doesn't fit right now. Yep. We first need to position it correctly. Okay. So that's pretty much it. We now need to get it into the book. 6. Lesson 06 Adding Papers to your Journal: So next step, I have SI units here on that sheet of paper. And now we need to glue that into our book cover. So to do that, we need to measure the whole thing. So I place it here in the middle. And I guess I will place that first. And then I'm going to measure that to make it off of this paper. So let's use our adhesive again. So once again, bone folder. So we are going to play that here in the middle. Okay, so, and now we need to cover that piece here and put something on it and on the other side as well. So for that, of course, once again, we need our RTC really close to the paper here. So you have a card, and that's important. And now on the next step, we are going to measure how much paper we need to cover the whole thing. So that's why I'm first put now adhesive tape here. So I can better say how much paper I need. So we do the same on the other side. But first, I want to show you this is, I'm going to use the same paper. The great thing about digital papers is that I can print them out as less i want to, you don't have to buy it again or use another one. I have printed out another one, but I think I'm going to use that on the inside as well. You see, that would look really nice as well. But I decided to use the other one. So I'm going to measure now how much a need and leave a little bit of space. It's about 1516 centimeters by. Then really go close here. By 12. So 16 by 12.2. So that is what we are going to cut. No. So here's our 12.2 and now we need the 16 hertz or we go to so make a thought here somewhere. Okay. See inside. So you see if it fits perfectly. Now when I close it, you see what happens. It moves a bit to the front, so I'm going to cut that off. Be sure you do the same or you go really in here. But try it first, you see, it's better to try then to just do it. And then you see it's not working. So I'm getting rid of one centimeter here. I could just tell you the measurements, but I want you to really measure it because it can always be a little bit different. So it's maybe just half a centimeter or something like that. But let's already enough to make it look not as nice as it should or it could look. So let's cut that off. A centimeter, doesn't hurt, it's quickly done. So why not do it? So now I need to get rid of all these things off as usually. So let's see it. You see, it works just fine. And half of that is done. Alright, so now we need to add a next part here. Same thing, waste a t-shirt. So again, we're going to measure that. It should be really similar. But you see, now it's 12.1 or something. So I'm going to make it a bit smaller, like 11.5, something like that. And here, 1616 by 11.5. 7. Decorating the Book Cover with A Fresh Start: You see, it looks really good. So now we want to decorate it. And you know, it's a travel journal, so there should be some some bags here in it so we can put in tickers or whatever you find on your holidays to preserve it. And for now, we're going to decorate that. We are going to do that in another video because I believe it's too much already. It's a very long one. So I thought I'm going to put it like that. I'm going to layer it a bit. So this is on the bottom and the top. And then the arrow is going to point a little bit dark. And then I'm going to add this here to the bottom. And I want to use my stems and put something like something like I want to put travel John on it. So that's why I'm doing it here. And so maybe that comes here in the bottom. And that on the top or the other way round, we're going to see. But for now, you see it getting pretty full. So we need to decide whether we use this error or not. I believe it's better to use it not. So we start like this. While we also can do, we can put it a little bit over the edge and just cut it off later. And I guess that's what I'm going to do now and decide later what else I can add here. So what we need is our blue stick. You can also use adhesive, of course. But I think it's, it's okay to use glue stick here because it's paper and paper, so that should work. Mm-hm. Yeah. Okay, as I said, we cut that off later. I first want to start stamping. So it shouldn't be a 100% strayed. It shouldn't be really, you know, just on it somehow. So here's my stamp pad. I already put all the stamps I need here on top. I guess I turn it around so you can see. So now I sought of adding some stamps and I already put them here, but I believe it's full enough. It looks good as it is. But if you wanted, you could add some off the flowers here. Daffy DO here. So it might look nice, but I'm going to leave it as it is for now. I think maybe later on I or maybe just one just just a little one here to have that stamped here. It might look nice. I also like the mixed media stuff here. You can, of course, victory, completely different, but that's how I do it now. I put them here to see if that works. And maybe just a little bit. And you see it's not the other way around, doesn't work anymore like that. So maybe I use the other one I have here. So you need to be really careful of that. So we're going to add back 101 here. And that's it. I first try it. Okay. As I said, I'm going to cut the rest off. And then we are done with our drawn. 8. Layout Idea for your Travel Journal: Okay, so in this video, we are going to create a layout for a book which is not ready yet. So what I'm going to do now is I have printed up one of the papers from the both sides, and I use the same paper. You can use a too, of course, but I use the same paper. And now I'm patting it and small to have it for my travel journal. And then or for Joel after. And and then we are going to create a layout for it and later I'm going to bind it into the book. So what I also did is I have printed two photos or fuel for photos because I've slid them with my Polaroid print printer here. And I have also printed many elements I want to use later. Maybe, you know, maybe that will work. I'm going to edit behind the frame. But you know that maybe I print again and we put the whole thing he behind. It will depend. We will see. And then I also have my stamps here. Lots of silicon stamps. I'm going to use or may not, but I just put it around here because these are so lonely stems, I'm going to use some for the layout maybe. So for now, I'm going to cut that in 15.5 by 9.5 because as the size of the travel journal inside and that is what I am going to use now for this layered as well. So I can, first of all, I can make asthma. So one and then start binding them. But has some yeah, some advantages. But he may not always want to do that. It depends. So now I just show you that technique to decide what do you want to do. So that's now 15.5 and now we need 9.59.5 is just one side. So I need to replicate that. And that means I need 19 centimeters here. And because this is an A4 was 29.7 centimeters, I need to cut off 10.7 centimeters here. So that is what I am going to do now. I just get rid of the 10.7 centimeters. And we did something we might use later for whatever. And now I have the inside of the book and I just need to fold it. That's what we're going to do with a machine as well. Course, it gets nicer. So you see that's how easy it is. And now what I'm going to do now is first I'm going to hold it and now I'm going to punch some holes into it. So for later, I can use that as well. But you see you better prepare your papers up front. It might be better if you want to create a layered first and then add to your drawing. But that's just one technique. You can do it totally as I showed you in the first video. That's up to you. So here is this bookbinding tool forming. We are memory keepers, which is super helpful for that stuff. And I do it now as I did in my travel journal. Leaf the first out here. Then I'm going to punch ten in a row. Might be. But now we have that already, the holes in here. And now I see perfectly where I can decorate. And let us what we are going to do now in this video. Pages prepared, but make sure if you're using a double-sided layer that you created here. Because when you fold it, you have just one page here and one page there. So that's won't go together later. We can create one layered on these two sides and the one layout here and one there. So what I'm going to do is I use the double page and I stepped kept clustering here. And first, what I usually do is I just put elements which might fit to see my I have or, you know, it depends, it totally depends what I wanted to do. And then I start creating whatever comes to my mind. So I first start to see what, what goes where maybe it's very easy layer if maybe it gets more complicated. But it all starts with clustering. And so that is what we do. This looks a little bit like washy tape when I put it here, right. So you see it doesn't fit, so I might do it here. And if another stripe for the other side here, I guess what I want to do, I'm going to just cut it off here. Then we can also decorated a bit and maybe use another frame for another picture. And then don't forget, we also have the stamps here. So maybe you don't want to put that much just a little bit. Always. The best thing is though. I'm sorry to coordinate that means that you have a balance between too. So if you have the piece on the one side, you may want to have it on the other side as well. Maybe you turn it round, that looks good. And then you just build up your layer. But then coordinate and it looks much better, more balanced after. So now we see what else we put here. Yeah, and I think that's already enough because while the risk I want to use the pictures here and then I might want to stamp something in. We will see how it looks in just a second. I don't want to put my picture. I'm going to do that a bit later because I first want to see how it goes. Make sure you don't glue that holds you have in here. Otherwise you need to punch them again or you can stitch through here. I don't want to press it down right now. We're going to do that a bit later. So what I personally prefer is a mixed media or stock. So I have lit vintage paper or a little bit of touch up a vintage paper. And then I have these really nice hand-drawn elements here. And now I'm going to stamp a little bit on it to make it look even more. Yeah, like like media mixed media art stuff. So that is what I am going to do here. I'm going to use these flowers here or I'm at Flour Sousa to just put them somewhere. So when it went, I can definitely cut off is set here. So I don't need it anymore, I guess. But, you know, you never know what you do with these little things here. And now we want to add some pictures and we see if that fits. If not, it's not a big deal. I can print them again to make them a bit bigger. That the beauty of this polaroid printer, you can always print them again. Yeah, I'm just going to do it a little bit like that and turn them around. And now I put something on it. I'm not sure what yet, actually, but we will see we'll find something. Yeah, I'm going to like that term. That's what I'm going to do. Not compress it down because I don't put it behind but inside. So I'm going to use paper first. Paper. Okay. That's a one-page. We can to see if if we add something else there. Another coordinating picture on the page. You see you never know what you can do with a snowbird. So I first always keep them on later and get rid of all. Here. I think I'm going to put us like that. Here. May be No, I think it's enough. So what you can also do, You may just want to cut a little bit off the frame and just cut it and use that piece here. What coordinate and not doing it here are maybe yes, yep. So I show you how I would do it. So I just kept it off. You see, it's all about clustering. The beauty of this is, you know, you, you can print it as often as you wish, so it's never lost if you want to use it later or next time, you just do it. So why I'm doing that now is because I have the green here, some green here, and I have that here. So once again, it's about balancing. So I'm putting that here and get rid off the rest here on the side. That right of ever saying I don't need anymore. And I at some wording, some drawing here, It's just journaling one word because it was a storm we had here. 20-20 is not just the year of a pandemic, it's also the year of very strange weather with lots of storms and grain and beside a lot of sun. So it's really, yeah, right now it's pretty hot hand Germany. I think it needs something here. Maybe there depends on how full you want to have your teeth. But I have so many beautiful stamps. I think that's why I want to stamp what we see if that works. Okay, I guess that's enough. And that's my layered format awake. You see I can now easily folded and I can now also put something on the other two sides. I may want to cut it a bit more here, but I'm going to do that with my full machine in just a second. Yeah. I hope you enjoyed the video and then I seal and the maximum. 9. Creating a Waterfall Card for your Travel Journal: So now we want to create a waterfall card. If you're ask now what is a waterfall? Cut it. It's a very nice little card. You can see many different pages. Wave can decorate may different pages. So let's get started and you see what I mean in just a second. So first, I have fringes and lot of paper. And here is paper we use in the last project for the mini album. And we can still use the rest of these papers. So that is why I printed them. We're still have them here. And those you already know. But I have also added a few more papers like this one. And that it has a really nice yeah, like a shimmer. I hope you can see that. And this paper's also very pretty. And this paper we already used. And another new one is this one here. And I have also created a few elements, few more elements. You can also use them, of course, to decorate your journal, but those fit now perfectly to the waterfall cut. That's why I have some extra elements here. There are many more. Actually. You will see them under this video in a link. And you can download them, of course, and the Szilard file as well. So that is what you can see. But for now, we want to create the outside of the card. I'm going to create it in ten by 15. So why? Because the journalists about 9 something. So I make it a bit smaller, maybe nine centimeters by 15 because it is 15 centimeters long. And then we go from there and at the all the pages. So I need something on the ground first and then we go from there. And maybe a cut that later and a little bit. So we should have some space here. So first of all, nine by 15, we get started. I'm going to add the black lung on the water. Of course, you can also use stems and all that stuff. We see that later when we start with decorated. You don't leave your variable, that's right now. But here I already have my stamps here. Have the beach Sam, so we will see, and I'm also showing you how to print all this out from your from your phone as my Polaroid printer. I really like that saying I'm going to show that to you in a minute. So now the smaller papers just trust me, right now I'm going to show you what the reason is in a bit. They are six by ten centimeters, six by nine centimeters. So a first cut, the nine centimeters here. And then I'm cutting the six centimeters. You can of course use more than one. I'm going to make them as different as I can, but you don't have to. You can use similar papers for each waterfall part apart if you want to. But we see, and when I have my ten by six now, I am going to put a little bit here, one centimeter and I'm going to fold that just because I'm going to fold it for our paper as well. So that's why. So this is how we start. We're going to put that here. And then we put 11 centimeter on the right. And so let me, let me know. Just cut. I want to use a huge verity of paper because, you know, because I can gets about digital scrapbooking so I can use as many as I want to. And that's one of the beautiful things about doing this digitally because I can create as many waterfall cuts as I want to. I don't have to buy new paper over time. I think I made a mistake. Yeah, I put it ten centimeters instead of nine. So just cutting one centimeter off here. Here again, one centimeter for folding. Yeah, I go ahead and cut morph these papers so I'm going to make them. So I'm going to show you know, how that works. And then we go on with the rest of this. But you should get an idea first. So what I'm doing now is I put one on the top and then I move on and put them on the bottom. You can use the glue stick, but you can also use your teeth of whatever you prefer. Just don't like to peel it off. So that's why I'm using this one. But it might be a bit stronger. So maybe my recommendation is using adhesive tape here. So you can already guess what I am doing. So I am moving at one centimeter down, open it and decorate each page here. You could also GLUT-2 onto each other here. Yeah, because we have enough paper of course. So maybe that's what I'm going to do now. So just to show you how that works, The only thing I need to do, and then it's also a bit stronger. The only thing I need to do as I need to use the same paper or maybe a completely different one and it's up to you. Or maybe you always use the opposite one, like this. And then you move on. Yeah. So so you have one there and the one which is here also on that page might be a nice IV. So let me do that and we see how that looks. Turn it off again. You see it's really good. But you can, of course, you see adhesive here. If you decide what paper you want to use upfront, you can ofcourse, do that already on your computer printed on the one side, this paper and on the other side that paper. You could do that upfront, so it's not that thick. But honestly, I really like that because there should be some totals on it, so it might look good. So next is we need to decide what is on the other side. And I guess I'm going to use a paper recurse. I really like it before we go ahead with the other one. So I need two stripes of that paper. Just a piece of paper we can put the glue off. So now you can see why it's getting a waterfall card. Because it's having that little separation here and always having one centimetre everywhere here on a whole sheet. So I'm going to go on like that and put my waterfall cut together. We are going to decorated in just a bit. Okay, So far, it's a little bit tricky here. You need some time to glue together. Maybe you just print the papers on two sides, on one side on this paper and one on that. The point is, this is a very thick paper and therefore is really strong, which is good on the one hand, maybe not on the other. So it's up to you what you prefer, what you would like to have. That's how my waterfall caught, looks so far. And I'm going to put the last part with you because I wanted to show you how I did it. So I put it together with some glue. And now I decided that I might use these adhesive here for the last step. So I'm putting my adhesive here on the back and then put it on the background, the black background here. I believe if the easiest way to do it, and then we can start decorating the waterfall card. You can always use a bone folder, but you know, it's okay. So so far, so now we need to decorate it and we need to get our protists. And I'm going to show you both in a second. I put a cluster together for the front page, but it's up to you. You can always start with completely different. It's nothing you need to copy her from me. I'm going to put it like that because I thought it's a nice quote. And then with a flower and some cars stuck here. So that looks good. And I'm going to use the glue here, just strong glue to make it look good and to make sure it doesn't come up. Again. If you want to put something and they don't make don't press it that hard. So I first glue that and then I'm going to put it on the paper. Also, you can always kept things off when they are too big and it also looks good. You can try it up front before you start gluing. Just put it together, and then you decide what you want and put it onto your eye, in this case, the waterfall card. So I thought I might or might not want to have it and I guess I might not. In this case. You can also use the other pieces you have from, from before, before we, the waterfall car, we created the mini album. And they were a little bit bigger. And you can also use those, but some might not fit. So you need to see what fits here. For example, this part, it just put that one on the card, you know, up to you. What I want to show you before I leave you alone with your creativity. How you can get your photos from your phone onto the printer here. And this is a little printer, I Polaroid printer. And maybe let me show you a second. Here is a smart sheet which is included already. An Android, there is the photo paper you can of course, always refill here. And this how you put it. And then I put it together. And now I connected with my mobile by Bluetooth. And you know, this is really nice because I believe if you're anything like me, you can use the app from your mobile and just get it out because you have all the pictures on your phone anyway. So now let's start by starting the app here. And I need to connect the thing. If it doesn't work, you can always do it by Bluetooth. And you need to make sure that you make it on and just hold it a little bit longer until that is blue here. Here, you see if blinking know them, you know, it's connected. If you can always check if it's connected by going into your settings. And see here on the blue twos, if it is connected and it stays connected, so that's fine. Okay. So let me start that and I already picked some pictures for that. I want you to create. I wanted to create a little piece here and make some, some pictures on one sheet. And so let me choose pictures already picked. Okay. So I have chosen one picture. Mri can say critical latch and shoes one-off phase, you know, it depends. I used to on one page to see how that works. It's, you know, the the point is, what size do you want to have to you want to have a really large picture or not? Or do you want to turn it around? You can zoom in and out, whatever you choose. And if you are happy, Go ahead. And yeah, you can always work here on that. And once you're done, click, save, and print. So on. Now, it takes just a few seconds until the picture comes out here. And you can see it's working and you can hear it's working. So now we have our picture pretty quickly and you see, it's really a nice thing to have. You don't need it. You can always have your images printed wherever. But it's really nice if you want a quick image for you album or something. And you can always go ahead and just printed on your small Polaroid printer. And I just want to use it now these two and put them inside here just to show you how that works. I don't want to decorate every single issue here because the video will be really long. I guess you get it. You know what I mean? So I just cut it in half now, my camp work basically on the whole part here. You see here now that it's always double. And see what 1 fifth. And I really, I need to put a tear. It always depends on your picture. Of course, if you want to have a blue background or whatever. And then you also can start decorating once again with the elements you have and see how that looks. So basically, the book clustering, you create what you want. And you can also always Journal. Means you can write something here or you can stamp it. We just go ahead and do one thing now. We see how it looks. And then I put maybe some something on it. Okay, that's my first layout, I guess I'm going to put a bit more glue on it. And now you keep going and put your whole thing together. And then we added to our, So here's a doll we've already created. And then just choose whatever page you want to. You can put it on a tear. And then you have your waterfall card in your travels. And it is a really nice to look at because it's a little bit more interactive. When you have several things to look at, when you go through. 10. Adding Papers to your Travel Journal: Okay, so far we have created our journal and we have created something in that inside to have a note pad so you can pull these papers and write something on it, put it in your journal or wherever you want. And now we are getting to the basics. So it's all about memory planning is all about preserving your memories, all about planning your travel, you holiday. And that is what this book is for. So it's not just to add pictures wherever, but also to plan your holiday. So maybe you want to have a backup lists before, or you want to include some mini albums, all that. This is what this book is for. And today I want to show you how to strengthen these papers. So these are very, these are just normal papers, printing papers you can use for your printer. You have at home loan rate, maybe you do that. And I like to use them because you can sue them much better. But so if you need them not a little bit more stable, we are going to add our scrapbooking paper. And here's the beauty of digital scrip parking. So you have the papers included in your course. And the great thing about that is you can print them out as often as you want. So no matter if you do it row, no question, you just print it out again and good. So I have here several really beautiful papers. And you can use them for your Jiang as often as you want. And we're going to start somewhere. So I wanted to start with a with a blue paper. Yeah. We're going to use that one and cut it out. Put it here on the paper. And then we are going to create something for these papers. So let's get started this way. So first of all, I need the measurement here. And you know, basically, I know how big that is, but I better measure it because you have to cut a tear and you have to cut it there and sometimes you pulls in here so you don't have the right measure. So better is you put on your ruler and see how big it is. You see I have inch here and I have sent images here. For me. It's better to do that in centimeters, but if you prefer, I can turn it around. So you know, a measurement in ingest Well, but it's always better if you use your own ruler, if you measure it on your own, because it might be slightly different. So for me it's 9.7 by 15.7. That's how I cut it. Put it on 9.7 here. And here it is 15.7. So let's see. So I guess it's too small and it is, but we can maybe use it for later project two nodes. So for now, I have one phase and I do it again here. So as, as you don't throw this snippets away, except they are really small, but usually you can use them for other projects as well because sometimes we just need a little piece off and that is what it is for. So I know it gets easy. We just have to glue it on top here. Make sure you just use something like that. A strong glue Pam onto. Can't use hot or you cannot use a taste IV here, so just use something like that. And when you put the glue on and make sure you put something under it so it's not gluing altogether. Look be terrible, right? So you see what happens when you use Biao like paper and you put glue on it. And that is why we need to put it on the other side as well. Basically, that's how we do the whole book, except for the pages where you just need to write something, but that depends on what you are going to do with your book. So that's it, that's the basis. So of course it needs to cry a bit and talk, maybe relate a patina washy or something. But for now, that's it. And now we're going to add something out to our journal. And what it is. I'm going to show you that in the next video. 11. Adding a Notepad to your Travel Journal: So now we are ready with our book and you've already seen it and it looks pretty good. The only thing now is it's so empty. So we really need to get things in. Which means we need some bags and you know, some papers drives, and there are so many things we can add to such a book and that is what we are going to do. We take this as an example and add a lot of different things. You can of course, always adds something different or just at the one thing and leave out the other thing. This are just examples and what you can do or not. So okay. I sought, I have this type of paper. There's just a silhouette file or a cut file, and you can use it for whatever cutting machine you have. And we will now fold it and we will add paper to it and gathered. So you have some paper in your paper in your book. So whenever you need to make some notes, that is what we are going to do now. So it's pretty easy. We just need to fold it. So here is a fully I'm using my machine for that. But if you wanted to do it manually, that's totally fine tooth. So you see it's much easier to fold it now. That's why. So let's fold the thing. Now you can see what I want to do with it. I'm going to fold it like this. And now we are adding some paper inside. So let me first get rid of that. And we can of course, decorated a bit. And it should fit to the rest of the book, of course. So I'm going to decorate this area here. And I'm using the elements which are included in this trouble, our journal collection. And I saw, I'm going to add this somehow. Maybe we're going to add that. Or you can do something totally different, that's up to you. Maybe you just want to add this one and placed that on top. You see there are endless possibilities. It all fits together just fine. You see that would also work. And so that's, so whatever you prefer, you go ahead and do that. So let's first put that on top here. Maybe I go ahead and do that a little bit different because if it's coming out so much, it might not fit well into the book. So we're going to see if we go ahead with that or if we get rid of that. Let's see. I don't want to cap off to smile near. So we're getting a little bit is left. Okay? So we're going to get rid of that in just a second. But first, I want to add the paper stuff so it can be dry. And we're going to add the papers here. So I want them to be inside like that. So I cut them in the middle. There are just some stripes here. We have left from our bookbinding. So maybe you have left some stripes as well. Just put them together. You see, they don't have to be a 100% ally because we're going to add something over it anyway. And when we do now is we use a thing here and go through it. Maybe that's too much. So I'm going to leave a bit out for now. That fits well. So now we need to cut them. And then I'm going to play some. There are always notes you need to make when you are in Hong De. So no matter what it is, so it's a good thing to have something like that. So now you can just pull out whatever paper unique or how many paper you need that to your joint. So let's get rid off the sides here. A 100% precise because you have the full thing there. So I guess I better counted manually. And that's how it looks now. You can put it into your book here. Let's see where it fears you could medically put it here. And you see now the problem here. And so I guess I need to fold it one more time. And that's because I thought I could add some more papers. But I guess I cannot because otherwise I wouldn't be able to close my journal anymore so better I drew it like that. So we're going to place somewhere. And let's see if we're done. And we have added something really nice to our joiner. Yeah, okay. That's how I sought. It looks good. I'm going to play some elements on that note hat. So now you can pull out your paper here. If you need it, write something on it, and you can pull it out. And I thought I could add some nice elements which also fit to a book. So it's all one unit, so it looks much better. So I don't want to move it around too much. So first, I need to play this one. And I always need to adjust because I need to know if I'm going to place it right. So I start with that one. So that's how the first page of our DOM looks like. 12. Adding a Mini Book to your Travel Journal: Okay, so next step, we want to create little book inside the book. So it should be a little photo album actually. And it needs to fit on one of these papers. I leave several free because Here's where I want to plan the holiday from a bucket list to whatever you can plan. You put here. And here is where I want to put my mini out. So what I need to do now is I need to choose a paper. And thanks to the beauty of digital scrapbooking, I have printed two of them. And now I can use some for my book here or maybe I use others as well. We will see, so we will have several slices here. And once we have them, we are going to fold them and sue them altogether and add them to the journal and then I cut it in the middle. So I guess you can't I don't know already what I mean. So I'm going to show you that now step-by-step, how to get that done. So my jaw is 9.7 centimeters, which means if I want to have it that's highs or nearly that size, I guess I will make it 9.5. And then the doubles high. So make sure you measure that and then have your own site. So a 9.5. by 9.5 plus 9.5 are 19 centimeters and that is what I am going to cut now and seven centimeters high. So since I have 19 centimeters and that whole thing here is 21, I'm going to cut two centimeters off. So I'm now seven centimeter slices. Why? Because the paper is about 29.7. So I have four slices here. I don't think I'm going to use just blue paper because they have so many other beautiful papers. So I guess I'm going to cut a bit more. But for now I have four slices of paper and we're going to use them. Interested. Okay, so let's use another slice of this one. So once again, I cut two centimeters off here. And seven centimeters here, one or maybe 22 other. I guess I'm in the mood of doing a little bit more neutral stuff today. So next step, I need to put all that together. And for that, I have to fold it. And I guess I'm going to do that with the help of this machine. So I just need to put it in the middle. So as I said, that is 18 centimeters or 181910 years, so 9.5. And there's where I'm going to fold it. So it's a bit easier for me just to folded like that. You see on let us what we are going to do now and how we go. And now you see, let me show you in just a few seconds. That is really nice to have different papers here. So we have different patterns. As you can see, one looks like this, one like this. So I can turn it around whatever you want to put those in each other or better. I put it like that or a printed from both sides. So totally up to you. You can choose what you want to do. For me. That's how I'm going to do is not. So next up is tissue less. And as you can see, I just printed one side. So maybe you would like to have boast printed, but I think I'm going to mix it up, so a few pages will have well, we'll just have some writing on it, while others will have the photos on it. So I'm going to make that against us enough. And you see now what happens when I'm going to fold that this will be more than I need. So I'm going to cap it but later, Not yet because I want to sue it first to have it really strung together. So let's just care abroad there, Korean, you use a cutter knife later and just cut it off. So next step is my binding tool. You already know what that is. I'm going to put that now hear on it. So next step is suing that I'd just use four times the size here or stray into bitch. But better and a little bit too much them to less. So. So that's it. Our mini book or mini photo album is ready. So the next step now is to decorate the thing. What I want to do as well is I want to cut it here in the middle so you can pull off a bit here and a bit there. So you have basically two pages on each page. So beside that bar except the last page where I want to place a photo. So how do we do that now? So I guess the best thing is to use a cutter knife and clearly both here and cut each on itself. Before I do that, I'm going to start decorating the first page. And then we see how that fares. And then I stopped cutting it. I guess it's much better than just cutting it now and then we have to see where it goes so it's easier. Okay, so what I sought for this page is I have printed lots of ego elements, especially for that and also included in the course. Of course. You can do that asks you like, I'm just going to place a few elements and see if I like it. And if not, I'm going to get rid of it again. Yeah, I think that's harm will go. And I'm going to stamp something on it because I found some really nice stems. I'm going to show that to you in a minute. Just let me get that on at first. Don't worry if anything is left over, we're going to cut that if some nefarious about that. Don't press it right now because I want to put the heart unmarried. So here is the stamps I proudly present because I really loved them. And I want to stamp something on top and on the bottom so it fits to holidays. And the thing now is, this little one is pretty easy. Alright, it says best summer holidays when it comes here on top. And the other one is this one which is pretty big or much too big. And I have to leave a bit out, so I thought I can show you how I'm doing that as well. So what I do now is I use my stem path. The best thing about this CLIA stem, so I can just place them wherever you want you and see if it works on images. I'm going to add some color here. Be careful that you don't have the color everywhere on your stamp. And once you're ready, press it down a little bit more careful and it works. So now we need to put the other half here, but just the best adventure. So I don't want to cut that off. So I'm going to use a piece of white paper here, which I used for the glue. And I'm going to cover that. And you see that will work. I just need to be a bit careful. So f everything on it on to make sure I do. I will try to put that here. Yeah. Thank gets. It won't work because I can just put everything here on it. So I'm going to cover that as much as they can. And so it's a bit tricky. So I need to be happy with a result no matter how. And it looks pretty good. It might be that, you know, here's a little bit less of the black because I was afraid to really press it down, but I could go over it with a black pencil. So this is the SCAP. Yeah. That's it for the mini album, actually. More or less at least because now we need to decorate the inside, which is pretty fun, I think. So. Now the point is when I cut it here in the middle, it can work. Actually, it should work. So let's see. At seven and you need to cut it here is 3.5. so it will work to catch just the today's new day Inhofe, but you don't see it when you, when you have it in your album. So when we take care of that later, first of all, I'm going to add the photo on the back. Or maybe this photo is for when you when you make it. And so you have that in-between, which looks pretty nice as well. So we can stamp here later on. But maybe for now, I'm just trying to see how I want to place my photos and all that. And I can also use a few more implements to decorate. You have everything you need here beside that, you can print it as often as you want. And you can also add more from the kids. So it's about your creativity here. Okay, we are done with our small mini album. What I did, now, I cut it here and you see how that works is pretty easy. You just use your a cut on machine or you use a cutter knife or a scalar and just cut the pages in heart. So here's how my last page looks. And I put some declaration I made. I could also put some on top here maybe. But, you know, I guess I'm just leave it as it is. So next step is I can stem null in it and also have some sticker photos. And I'm going to add those to the, to this mini book AS well. Let me show you. You can print it all out on your computer if you want to. Or you go to a photo Center and have them printed for a few cents. So it's not a big deal. And it might be, or might be not, that it fits into your book here. So let me use one page here. And this syndrome, you see it fits perfectly here, but they want a bit on top. But on the bottom, so I'm going to cut that off. It's nice that you can just glue it on here. And it's like a sticker. But it's nothing what you need. Actually. You just can't glue it into your little mini book here and just have fun decorating it and stamping on it here. You can't have too much in it, I guess. It's just about your tastes. So whatever you want to have inherent, you'd just put, if you want to have something underneath or on top or whatever, just go ahead and do it. So what I'm going to do now is I use one of these stems here, like this one, and put it on top of the photos. So it's all here about having mixed meter. So their stems, there's paper, their photos. So you just have fun with it. It's nothing you need to copy here now. You just use whatever you have until and go over it. Sorry, I sought I'm going to place it somewhere here. Just like a stamp you have somewhere. So okay. You also might want to, you know, I have here my stamps and I sort of adding a date. Maybe the place where wass Yes, I will do that. It was in 2019. So I'm going to put that here on the bottom. And then maybe another photo. Maybe put another step here and from here on the right side, I won't use the same one. I have so many here. So I guess I can just switch to another one. Just one might have a nice shape. Don't worry if it's not 100%, it's okay. It just a stem. When you go to a post of this, you might have just half off with them as well, so no invariable back. So next is put Rome here. It's a German word for Rome. So, okay, so let's one of the pages I decorated now, and I'm going to leave that as it is. And now I just go on with each page of my mini album, but you can do it on your own. Just ask you prefer, I'm going to link your all material low under the video. Okay, last step. I won't decorate any page here, so you can do that on your own, but I want to give you some ideas what you can do. So I'm going to use that one piece here, cut it in half and fluid on both pages, and then I put my photos on and stamp on it. You see, I just taught it to love stamping. So yeah. Let's go ahead and just need to make sure I have the right size. You don't have half a temperature, Sam, but basically a want a piece on top and someone button. So that's why front MAF shows this step. And I'm going to add up onto Martin. Okay, so two pages are already decorated and the last one as well. So I would just have to go on and then I need to add that into my travel journal. And what I'm going to do is not that I'm using some glue. I'm going to add a t-shirt here and put it here on top so I can write something unmarried or maybe I put it on the bottom and write something here on top. But I guess I first want to decorate it and make it ready. Yeah, that's it. And we go on with the declaration for our journal in the next video. 13. Congratulations!: Congratulations you did it. You created a travel journal on your own. You have soon that you are decorated it. And now we have added several cute and beautiful little arms, like a mini book and a notepad. And there are so many things you can add. Additionally to those we already did. This, of course, will be your project. Create your own traveled Zhang and pick one or two or three of the add ons and go ahead and create them for your book as well. And I really hope to see what your results in the class. And then I hope to see you in the next one. Until then, bye.
