In our guys, American and English people use many idioms and expressions and their speech on conversations. So that's why sometimes English is a bit difficult for learners. But don't worry, we will hope you understand everything. As you know, idioms are a group of words, specific and spatial meanings. So here in this course, we have been trying to choose and select the most common idioms, expressions, and slangs that are commonly used by native people. Would you just give me a break? So here in this course you will learn many common expressions, Idioms and different sentences, conversations, and clear explanations. Enjoy learning common American English idioms. 2. a bitter pill to swallow : Hello everybody. I hope you're doing great. The ADM we will learn in this lesson is a bitter pill or a bitter pill to swallow. So in the first place, let's understand the meaning of bitter pill and swallow. Pale is small, solid piece of medicine that you swallow. And bidder is having a sharp, strong taste like a black coffee without any sugar. And swallow guys means to make foods or drinks to go down your throat. So a bitter pill is an unwanted or unpleasant situation that somebody who is forced to accept. A bitter pill is a short poem for a bitter pill to swallow. As I told you, it's something that is very difficult and unpleasant that you must accept. So guys, let's use this idiom in different examples so you can understand it better. Okay guys, let's use this EDM, a bitter pill to swallow and different examples. You need to prove it. For example, anyone can tell you I love you, but is that true? No, they should prove it to you. A dime, a dozen, low paying jobs are a diamond doesn't anyone can get one if they try, but the high pink ones are not so easily to get and require proper and relevant skills. Websites on health and fitness are a dime a dozen nowadays, but not all of them are accurate and have correct information. Right? At diamond dozen, something that is plentiful, common, and cheap. Okay, Let's use It's EDM in different conversations at diamond dozen. Hey, sorry. I want to buy one of those watches. What do you think? Cheap watches like this have flooded the market. I guess they are a dime a dozen. What do you think of these dishes, Sorrow? Well, bills, antique dishes are pretty, but they are a dime a dozen, which means they are cheap and plentiful. Um, it doesn't with dime a dozen. That's right. Because we are a dime a dozen. A dozen. Squirrels are a dime a dozen. Alright? And that is why you are in this band. And those guys are a dime a dozen. Those guys are a dime a dozen. Those guys are a dime a dozen. Being lean torso in this town is a dime a dozen baby. 5. add insult to injury : Hello everybody. I hope you are doing great. And the EDM of this listen is add insult to injury. One more time. Add insult to the HRE. So let's understand the meaning of insult. Insult as a remark that is offensive and deliberately rude. So to add insult to injury means to act in a way that makes it bad or displeasing situation worse. So guys, you see it when you feel that someone has made a bad situation worse by making something too opposite you guys the other days and my car broke down in the middle of nowhere to add insult to the injury started to wane. So to understand it more, Let me give you some more examples. Okay guys, let's use this idiom in different example. Let's add insult to injury. They told me I was too old for the job. And then to add insult to injury, they refused to pay my expenses. Oh, shit. First, they lost the match. And then to add insult to injury, one-off players was suspended for cheating. If you think you can learn English in one week, that's impossible. Okay, listen up, we're going to give you more examples so you can understand it better. So it means a person is sleeping or sitting on a cozy floor. So the EDM, a bed of roses means an easy, comfortable and luxurious situation, simpler, we can't say an easy life. The fact about this EDM is that this EDM originated from French literature in 13th century. So guys, if you say that the situation is not a bed of roses, you mean that the situation is not as pleasant as it seems. So guys, let me give you more examples so you can understand it better on a bed of roses. So guys, let's see how this EDM is used in different examples. She found that taking care of all parents was not a bed of roses, which means it pleasant and easy. Making money is not a bed of roses. So wake up early and go to work. That's right. Making money. That's easy these days. Before separating from family, my life was a bed of roses in Australia because my mom errors for family. That's right. My life was easy, comfortable, and luxurious. Maybe. I hope you are doing great. And the EDM of this lesson is beat around the bush. One more time, beat around the bush. So in the first place, let me explain to you the meanings of beat and bush. Beat means to hit something continuously many times with your hands or stick, like when you hit the drum and bushes or plant with many small branches growing directly from the ground. So what's the meaning of beat around the bush here? Beat around the bush here means to avoid speaking about the main issue and not speaking directly about the topic. In UK, people usually say beat about the bush. Yes, beat about the bush, which usually has completely the same meaning. So beat around the bush means to talk about lots of unimportant things because you don't want to speak about what is important. Sometimes we use this phrase because we don't want to say something very directly, usually because we don't want to make a person we are speaking to upsets. So guys, let me give you some more examples so you can understand it better. Okay, everybody, let's use this idiom in different examples. Beat around the bush. I had trouble delay Marshall heat losses, job. I started beating around the bush and talking about wander closing and another door opening. So I starting beating around the bush, which means I started to speak indirectly, are not speaking about the main issue. Bite off more than you can chew : Hello my dear friends. I hope you're doing great. And the EDM I want to teach you today is bite off more than you can bite off more than you can chew. So what does it mean? So as you know, buy it means to use your teeth to cut something. And Chou means to buy something in your mouth. So Rob times before you swallow it. This is chewing. So guys, if you bite off more than you can chew, it means that you are taking a task that is way too big and difficult for you guys. I bought five English books to study. I thought I could finish them in one month. I have bitten off more than I can chew. So don't do it. So to bite off more than you can show me is to try to do something that is too difficult for you.
